The 3rd volume of Green Lantern began with a publish date of June 1990. In the issue, Hal Jordan was trying to decide his place and role in the world and went on a journey of self-discovery. Meanwhile, the weight of his causing the destruction of Xanshi was mentally and emotionally crushing John Stewart. He also decided to take a journey, in his case, to the ruins of the planet Oa. When Hal Jordan arrived in Hope Springs, West Virginia (formerly called Desolation), he reconnected with Rose Lewis-Harden, who only knew him in his Green Lantern form. Hal hoped maybe he could find a life with her as just Hal, but his secret identity was revealed when Guy Gardner showed up and bullied him into using his powers. Believing Hal could never just be a regular man, Rose asked him to leave. Rose Lewis-Harden and Toby Harden were introduced in this issue, created by Gerard Jones and Pat Broderick.
