#sso medieval event

Am I the only one who thought the lance we get upon being knighted would be an actual item we get in our inventory? Like idk how we'd use it, but I was under the impression that somehow we'd be able to carry that lance around outside the jousting arena whenever we wanted after 'claiming' it.

What's the point of displaying it as a reward and having a 'claim' button if we don't get anything? Am I missing something?

What ho!

Our first day at the Medieval Festival was very exciting. I decided not to pledge my loyalty to any house - free spirit that I shall remain - and read about the medieval riders on Jorvik. Thunder saw a dragon for the first time in his life and oh my, did this little creature frighten him 😱. To be fair, I didn’t see him sitting up there at first neither. Later he met another one and they seemed to love each other, look how adorable they are 🥺🖤

The event is kind of lacking for now. But I'll try to stay positive for now and say that maybe they'll offer us much more content in the following weeks. Hope they'll do something interesting with the dragons

So if I understood well: once we're done doing the rep with one of the houses we'll get the lance of that house ? please, PLEASE, tell me this is a lance you get to always keep with you and can walk around with even after the event is over PLEASE

Empty event aside, I do really enjoy walking around the camp and exploring it a bit and catching on the details, eh.

Big Bonny Brings A Medieval Marvel To Jorvik!

Big Bonny may be a woman of science and inventions, but she is also a big fan of romantic literature and knights in shining armor! Together with a couple of hard working people, she has now managed to set up the start of a medieval fair on Jorvik. 

Pledge your loyalty to either of the houses of Cerise Unicorns, Yellow Wolves or Blue Oaks, or forge your own path as a Knights Errant, and begin your journey towards becoming a fully fledged knight in shining armor! Participate in jousting to build up your reputation, and claim your very own lance in the colors of your house.

Where better to kick off this fair of a forgotten time than in the Forgotten Fields? To be able to speak to Bonny at the festival area you need to have reached level 6, be a Star Rider, have unlocked the Harvest Counties, and have helped Ed Field tear down the bushes covering the road to Jarlaheim.

This medieval area is permanent!

Two New Coat Variations

The black Ardennes that made a surprise visit to Jorvik a few weeks back is now here to stay! This beauty has also brought a friend along - a new chestnut Lipizzaner. Both horses can be bought at the medieval area and are a permanent addition to Jorvik.

Medieval Sets

With the Ideal Knight set you can proudly wear the colors and armor of your house (or any of the other houses of course, we won’t judge where your loyalties lie…). If you’d prefer a less clunky outfit for the day, the Cottage Core set is now also available for purchase! Find both of the sets in the medieval shops.

The Return Of Birthday Pets

The furry little friends from the past birthday celebrations were a little bit late to the party, but are now a permanent addition to Jorvik! We’ve now pulled the rabbit and the cat from the hat, and placed them in the pet store in Moorland, waiting to find their forever homes!

okay, sso nails their environment building; like the ren faire looks beautiful and has a bunch of little details (i love the crows on the arrows in the tree) and the wildwoods are super pretty!! but uhh there's nothing to do? which for the medieval event it's obviously annoying but wildwoods has been around for like. awhile at this point. they could've added something. i really hope they do something with either of them</3

I was watching the video for the sso medieval event and..

I realized if the inhabitants during the medieval period on Jorvik KNEW soulriders existed without Jon Jarl ( who arrived in 1218 and being friends with the Keepers of Aideen and backing up their religion )

they would probably be treated like witches and made to confess/or accused of lying through brutal torture but only to be accused anyway then have to go through the horrific deaths

I havent heard of any soulriders/Druids being found and executed in the medieval period ( for what people would believe then their powers would be considered witchcraft and would hunt and execute them ) so I think that has something to do with the Druids and Keepers of Aideen being close with Jon Jarl so they where always recognized as friends and friendly natives

Now if anyone tries to say that they didn't do witch hunts and burn witches on Jorvik during the medieval period, it DID happen. If you do the quests with the witches in sso you see the mention that MULTIPLE TIMES and we can look back in the books and see a organization called the Sixth Hammer that was MADE for hunting and persecuting witches, even the quests in Galloper's Keep. They mention some of the spirits of persecuted witches, AND GALLOPER WAS PERSECUTED FOR IT TOO.

If you're curious about the Sixth Hammer in the books im refering to when they talk about what happend to Sand's first lover because she was tortured and persecuted for supposed witchcraft

( Note that Im not far in the books but I have deep dived in other places and took a look in the books that I do have )

If yall want go ahead and reblog with your thoughts, but I will warn yall that I will not tolerate this being used for starting or fueling fights. This post is just me rambling about my findings and looking for any others that have found similar info on this topic.

Im also going to point out that Im not targeting the medieval event. Im absolutely EXCITED and can't wait for the event, but Im posting this because I wanted to share my thoughts and how it contrasts with the REAL medieval period/ ' Dark Ages '.

What the flip flop sso why is there no birthday event?? It was my absolute FAVORITE event cause we got to actually spend time with the dark riders and there was so much to do. The medieval event is just jousting and I know there's going to be more but like...

WHY TAKE OUT THE BIRTHDAY EVENT FOR THE MEDIVAL IF THE MEDIVAL IS JUST GOING TO BE PERMANENT??

And why are you going to put the birthday tack and outfit in the global store?? Are yall just not going to have the birthday event ever again?

I'm scared for the Halloween and Winter Village since this year was just a FLOP.

Am I thinking of making knight OCs and lore? Absolutely. I actually started working on that immediately 😂We'll see if anything ever comes of it XD

Alright ssoblr, I spent 2 hours on sso, I increased 3 levels on the trailblazer track and immediately got kicked off and told I'd been suspected of cheating because I played the game.

Also I saw the posts about the code going around and based off what we know about the medieval event the code will probably be something along the lines of TREATY as the current letters we've heard are T,Y,E,R/A

Okay so someone by the name of SSO secrets on yt showed some fits that are coming soon. All of them are super medieval theme and look absolutely insane. Not only that but sso is also adding cool hairstyles AND pet dragons that look literally so sick.

there will be friesian sports the spoiler server has shown a ss of their code so it's really a matter of time? initially i thought we would be getting the Norikers already because they are technically on time for release but i think they're getting pushed to november (which i don't mind)

which means, the friesian sports are coming next month. when? i'm hoping sept 4th but it could also be that sso will release them with the medieval event on the 11th eitherway, i guess we will get a better idea once wednesday rolls in
