Evan did so much heavy lifting for the editing as I offered to polish things up near the finish line. To have a credit be included was incredibly sweet of him to give, and I can only give endless praise for the entire team who made this gem of a pilot possible.

Lumi's Pilot Is FINALLY Out!!!

After so many years, the pilot is finally out! I had a very good time with it. While I've been used to indie projects always going for a darker tone such as Helluva Boss, Murder Drones, Gaslight District, etc., it's nice to have something tame for once...to some extent. I also like how this released not long after I Don't Want To Be A Magical Girl that had this sort of star motif. I love the cast. My favorites are everyone! I immediately love all the characters! Especially Siona & Davin! I also like the lore despite having bits of it. I understand the main focus was towards the main characters & the plot. I do see inspiration from Steven Universe as well as noticing the reminiscence & references to Wander Over Yonder. Two animated shows I love dearly! I like the concept of humans (or "hoo-mans") being thrown into the mix despite the aliens thinking they don't exist. (Way to flip the script there!) I also love the backgrounds within the animatic & the bits of animation. It definitely has that Wander Over Yonder appeal again. I find it as a cute callback while also paying homage to it. It's a sweet pilot, but now I want more. I know Evan is putting Lumi on hold, but I'm already in love with this world & I want it to be something some day! Great job to everyone involved in the project!

Aaaaaahh my Lumi plush from @starteas arrived today! :'D (after being delivered to the wrong door in my building lol) I couldn't resist taking a picture and drawing a few of my own star friends too :'DDD

They all seem really curious about their new friend, and I bet they're eager to give them a good home here ^_^

I have to bring up how much I enjoyed looking at the background characters in Lumi! That goes for the main characters we're meant to focus on too! I can tell the crew had a lof of fun with these character designs! I see a Bill Cipher Hand, literal dinosaurs, penguins, shrimp-like fish, a Ruby & a Peridot, a Hanna Barbera/Jellystone-like bear, monsters that could be in Undertale, & all sorts of cute/funny alien peeps!

Please please please watch this pilot when it releases. This is legitimately one of the most impressive and heartwarming animatic pilots I've ever seen. The entire Lumi team is a straight up powerhouse of talent and it's not shy to showcase that. Treat yourselves when this drops. This is truly something really, really special.
