                    “ okay i’f we’re getting into weird compliments, i had a girl tell me i get down like an octopus... what that means?? i’m not entirely sure, ”

           “ all i got in my fridge is leftover take out and some yogurt… maybe some vitamin water? ” jetson sat down on his couch, tired as hell, phone to his ear. “ you wanna come over? bring some food. ”

                   he was trying to be attentive and listen, but the construction across the way was buzzing in his ears, and some woman who’d lost her dog a block down was somehow worming into his head. usually he was good at cutting out voices and thoughts he didn’t want to hear, but his overall focus was waning and his control was loosening.                    “ i’m sorry, i can’t… ” jet paused and rubbed his forehead. “ it’s awfully noisy right now. can we talk about this later? ”

" well, i’m really not the best at like, giving advice and shit, but you know what always makes me feel like, way better after i’ve felt like shit for a bit?? a nice, hot bowl of rice and butter. you want me to make you some?? "

odd || open

                        jet was soaked, but he didn’t mind much; he was used to it by now. fall in his hometown just meant rain, and despite his umbrella, he still managed to get totally wet. the wind made sure of it. he fought his way to the front door of the pub where he worked, and pushed through. he didn’t mean to, but naturally he shook himself off a little bit, tossing his wind mangled umbrella into the bin by the door. he sensed something odd though, and froze. he turned slightly to the table closest to him.                      “ sorry, did i get you wet? my bad, ” he asked them, trying not to give away the odd vibe he was getting from them. they made the hairs on his neck prickle a bit, and his wolf inside stirred with discomfort, something that rarely happened.

                     “ why wouldn’t i remember you? you come in every day, same time, order the same thing, stay a couple hours… i think it’d be kinda rude of me if i didn’t notice you. ”

                        “ i mean, you can ask me all you want what i think, i still don’t fuckin’ trust him, ” jetson shrugged and put his hands in his pockets. “ i’ve told you a hundred times, i’m never gonna lie to you to make you feel good about it, and at this point you don’t listen to me anyway so, ” he chuckled.

                     “ i haven't felt the way i feel today in so long its hard for me to specify, ” feelings were never his strong suit. true earnest was hard to express freely for jetson, but every now and then it was like he got a tiny bit of clarity. “ i'm beginning to notice how much this feels like... a waking limb. pins and needles... ”

                    “ so you thought you could just do what the fuck you wanted, with no regard for how it might make anyone feel?? good luck going through life like that, you’re sure to do well, ” jet fumed. he and his friends worked way too hard to do these shows for anyone ( his partner or not ) to try to mess up the rhythm they’d established with the years they had. not that anyone really could, to be truthful. the jealousy the other had showed with their antics  that night made him see them in a suddenly different light. “ i don’t know what you thought you were gonna get out of all this, but i hope you’re happy you made a jackass of yourself, ”

                              “ if that’s what you wanna think, ” jet could be pushy at times, but at the moment he didn’t see the point in bothering. he shrugged and nestled his hands in his pockets, looking on at the other with a rather resigned expression. “ i don’t argue with walls. plus, ’m hungry. chicken fingers sound good, ”

                    “ lemme get this straight, ” jetson paused and took a deep breath, his fingers scratching thoughtfully at the scruff on his chin. “ you had a fight with them... over ice cream?? ”
