A few people asked about the rounded toe on my latest sock - specifically about the fit. This is the best photo I have to show it but it is really comfortable. A little roomier than a standard toe but so far no complaints at all. To work the toe was super simple too. On 64st: K6, k2tog to end K6 rnds K5, k2tog to end K5 rnds K4, k2tog to end K4 rnds K3, k2tog to end K3 rnds K2, k2tog to end K2 rnds K-1, k2tog to end K-1 end K2tog to end Break yarn and thread back through rem 8st. Not only a completed pair of socks, but my first #stashdash2017 project. I bought the yarn - #madtosh light at Loop last weekend and then knit on these through the fabulous and inspiring @blogtacular Simple short row heel and a rounded toe. Is it possible for WIPs to shrink while they are in hibernation? I was sure that this Attic24 Granny Stripe blanket was considerably larger than this. I was counting on finishing this in order to boost my #stashdash total. Looks like I might have to quietly revise my 10k goal. With the best will in the world I'm never going to finish this by the middle of August. For the next 14 days I'm taking part in the #freeupmyinsta photo challenge run by @allison_sadler_ Like a lot of people I've been in a bit of a rut with my Instagram recently. Slightly miffed by the algorithm showing me 3 day old posts and generally feeling a bit out of sorts with my previously favorite platform. Matching my nails to my project bag? It's got to be done. With all that's going on right now sometimes this feels a little frivolous, trivial even. But for me it's my way of dealing with this and the relentless negativity in the news and other media. Yes, they are just flamingo nails but they make me feel happy and cheerful every time I look at them. And more importantly they remind me of the great connections and friend I've made through our online knitting community. When @coxabey_nails started selling Jamberry nails I was so excited. I've yet to meet her in real life (hopefully I've will soon) but we share a love of knitting, fibre and also funky nails! It's the same when I pick up a project bag from @little_greygirl or some hand dyed yarn from an indie dyer. Yes, they are just tools and items to be used in our crafting but to me they also represent friendship and online connections which are increasingly important in these stressful times. The body of my Windswept sweater is now finished which can only mean one thing... Welcome to sleeve island 🤣 My plan is to get this sleeve to the point where the decreases start, then go back and do the 2nd sleeve. It's not often that a shawl flies off the needles quite so quickly. There are some projects though that just seen to grab you and you can't let go until it's done. Don't you find? There is of course the blindingly obvious answer that if you devote all of your knitting time to just 1 project rather than dividing it by eleventy billion other WIPs then you'll make more progress and actually finish a few things.
