Washed, blocked, seamed, wearing it! For when you want sleeves but can’t quite bring yourself to put your arms into them. The last three images are a Hair Story, obviously. 1. Much more drape than expected. Bigger swatch next time? Still, I love this so much, it’s what I actually wanted. 2. Yes, I knit this flat and seamed it. I left a long, long tail to seam it with, and it was a delight to work with that fluffy, washed yarn tail. 3. On cooler days one could close it with a shawl pin. Or pair it with a parasol because it’s a CAPELET. 😬 Note: I designed this “cowl” as the working assignment from the Unlock your inner designer: design your own cowl Workshop. In the grand scheme of things, this post is not important. It’s part of the ‘’minutiae of my life “ series, I guess: For when you want the comfort of sleeves but don’t need a whole sweater. This vintage pattern can be called a “bed jacket “ or apparently also a “shoulderette”, which is even better. It is from the thirties. I have been in love with this sweater since the yarn arrived in the mail. CW: some over sharing 🍭 I was been bed-bound for the last two days. Sunday was with food poisoning, Monday was the migraine that tends to follow. 🍭 I used to get migraines with alarming regularity; I missed a lot of school, and had to take a lot of meds. 🍭 Migraines are debilitating. I was lucky enough that yesterday’s migraine meant I was able to find medicated relief leaning supported on pillows and remaining still. 🍭 I couldn’t parent, I couldn’t cook, or do anything I normally would. I struggled to eat. I was, however, able to knit a little bit. 🍭 This is so minor compared to what many ravelry users have reported. It is unconscionable that @hi.ravelry has allowed the aesthetic changes to stay with the knowledge that they are causing harm to any percentage of their users. 🍭 Hurting users means they aren’t using your site. That means loss of ad revenue, as well as loss of pattern sale revenue. Doing the right thing, in this case, is also the profitable thing to do.
