Born from an affair between her mother Sporetooth and a Dreaming Clan cat named Currantcry. Lily of the Valley Clan didn't want to accept her and her siblings, only barely letting Sporetooth stay. Everything causes a lot of pressure to be put on her by her mother to not displease the clan and go above your average appreciation, because she "wasn't your average apprentice."

She never felt as close to anyone when Bryonypaw came into her life. The two were the most head strong apprentices in the clan. For a good time she felt as if she didn't need to prove herself of anything. Apart of her knew they weren't just joking when they said they loved each other. Before their warrior assessment they promised themselves that if no tom caught their eyes they would become mates. They both laughed about it, but both truly wished the other meant it.

They really did get ahead of themselves when Bryonystep went after that coyote.

No one really knew where Giantstrike was from.

The first memory anyone ever had of him was when Holysnow found him wandering around outside of camp. It had been a clear, quiet, frankly boring day and the medicine cat had been looking for something to do, so he’d gone out to gather herbs, stumbling upon a kit nearly the size of him. The only reason he recognized the kit as such was because his paws seemed a bit too big and his ears a bit too fuzzy.

He had half a mind to leave the giant kit to fend for itself, but he also knew the warrior code decreed that he HAD to help him, so he led him back to camp to meet the Clan.

The kit later explained that his parents had gone missing one night, and that he’d been wandering around for a few days trying to find them, eating bugs and such to survive. When asked about his age, he said he thought he was about 5 moons old, as he’d seen the full moon about 5 times, but he wasn’t quite sure exactly how old he was.

Holysnow consulted the leader about this, and they came to the conclusion that the new kit could become an apprentice alongside the next generation, which were all due for an apprentice ceremony within the next moon or so. However, there was one thing left to do.

After a few hours of discussion, Holysnow asked the kit for his name.

“My name? Uhmm… I dunno… I don’t really remember… Mama didn’t call me much, I usually stayed right next to her, and I don’t think Mama and Papa talked about me,” he mumbled out, his voice, however gruff it may have been, still another clear indicator that he was just a kit. He probably wasn’t used to his name yet.

“Then we shall call you Giantkit until you become an apprentice,” Holysnow decided for the kit, before walking off to tell the leader.

“‘Giantkit’? ‘Apprentice’? What does that mean?” the silver tabby asked the other kits, crouching to get closer.

“Oh! I know I know! Most of us are named after what we look like! Like Muddykit and Lavnderkit, and me! Goldenkit! But soon we’re gonna be Muddypaw, Lavenderpaw and Goldenpaw, and you’re gonna be Giantpaw!” a yellow kit announced enthusiastically, bounding around as she motioned to her friends.

“Why are our names gonna change?” Giantkit asked, a bit confused, before a kit with a mottled brown pelt stepped in front of him.

“Because we’re gonna turn into apprentices! We’re gonna get to leave camp and hunt for the Clan, and fight off all the badgers and foxes!” he said, seemingly excited for the new title.

“Yeah, our moms said that when our kit fluff is gone and we grow into our paws, we’re gonna become apprentices! We’re all really close, and so are you, so you’re gonna become an apprentice with us!” exclaimed another kit, silver that looked almost purple.

“Ugh, do we have to become apprentices with him?” he heard a sudden, much snarkier mew behind him, and turned to see an oddly thin, lanky kit leave the den.

“Don’t be so rude, Stickkit, he’s new!” Goldenkit defended, running up to stand nose-to-nose with the other kit.

“But he doesn’t know anything about Clan life! That’s the point!”

“We barely know anything either, mouse brain, why do you think we become apprentices before we become warriors?!” Muddykit pointed out, standing beside Goldenkit.

Stickkit looked around for a moment before spotting another kit attempting to leave the den.

“C’mon, Ratkit, back me up!” he asked the black kit, but the kit just looked at him, tilted his head and left the den without a word, heading towards the small pile of fresh-kill near a cluster of ferns. Stickkit growled to himself before pushing past the other two kits and trotting over to a den bush, slipping under it.

“What was that all about?” Giantkit asked as the two came back over to him, tilting his head.

“Stickkit doesn’t like new cats, he thinks everyone who’s not a Clan cat is stupid,” Goldenkit explained, shuffling her paws. “He’s mean, I don’t like him.”

“Don’t worry, Giantkit, I’m sure soon you’ll know just as much as we do!” Lavenderkit assured him.

“Yeah,” Muddykit agreed, “One day, we’re all gonna be great warriors!”

“And you did become great warriors! You’re the best hunter in the Clan, Muddyspots is the deputy, Goldenscruff is super fast and Giantstrike scares away all of the big, scary animals because he’s even bigger!!” Skullkit cheered, pattering his little white paws on the ground.

“That’s right, and Sticksnap learned that cats outside of the Clan aren’t stupid; they just live differently,” Lavenderclaw added, looking over at Sticksnap and Velvetfur, “Didn’t you?”

The lean brown cat rolled his eyes, leaning into his fluffy mate. “I suppose I did…”

“See, you two? Everything works out. Giantstrike became a great warrior, and Sticksnap learned a life lesson. A perfect story!”

“But wait, what about Ratkit? What happened to him?” Pumpkinkit asked, “We don’t have a warrior with ‘Rat’ in his name now!”

“That’s…” Lavenderclaw thought, before sighing.

“That’s a story for another time, Pumpkinkit…”

Childhood Buddies

Stickkit lightly padded after his best friend, Icekit, who they were having trouble finding while navigating the camp. He’d constantly bump into things and go the wrong way, so Icekit had informed them that xe had an idea. After a few more steps, he stopped and sat down, deciding they didn’t want to make a fool of themselves any longer.

“What’s this idea of yours?” He meowed, a hint of curiosity lacing their words as he spoke.

“You’ll see! Just stay where you are.” They heard Icekit say as he stayed put, confusion twisting their face.

Suddenly, he felt fluff cover their mouth and muffle the shocked noise that escaped him. Then, they heard Icekit chuckle and mew. “Grab onto my tail!”

With hesitance, Stickkit held onto their friend’s tail with his mouth. “That way I can help guide you.” They heard Icekit purr and move ahead, while the black and white kit began to tail along.

Story:

Stickkit liked fighting.

Clan kits are encouraged to envision the other Clans as enemies. However, Stickkit’s open despisement of Riverclan and Shadowclan went a few words over the line, and he was often scolded by his father.

“Stickkit, I don’t care if you were spying, you where going to get yourself killed.”

“Stickkit, don’t scratch them that hard.”

“You violent mousebrain!”

“I canit believe this shit anymore, Stickkit!”

“I wish you were never born!”

Stickpaw was excited when he became an apprentice. But, much like his father, his mentor didn’t seem to have much an interest in him. None positive, anyway.

When he could, he fought some random Shadowclan and Riverclan cats.

Even when a battle occurred between said Clans without Windclan involvement, he leaped in, clawing at various cats. He encountered a black-furred warrior in which he leaped onto, clawing and scratching at his chest with his hind paws. As the warrior flung him off, Stickpaw bit down dangerously on one of his toes.

He spit it out, failing to recover in time before various warriors beat him up, and he ran away crying and bleeding. He ran into a large rabbit hole. A mother and her babies resided in and tried to chase him out, but he managed to kill her and kick out her kittens.

He stayed there for three hours before returning home. When he returned to camp, news had already spread of his interference, and in retaliation, his father shouted at him, clawing his ears. As well, he was prevented from attenting the gatherings, or even from leaving the camp without a warrior watching. He was left with basically nothing to do but take care of the elders.

After only two days, he was fed up.

He escaped into the forest and ran, ran, ran. His pads cracked to the point of breaking, his fur slashing against whipping branches. But he didn’t care. He ran onto a large thunderpath. The wind had seemingly stopped, rain pouring downwards, directly onto him as though he were the target of Starclan’s wrath.

He sat, chanting to himself as blood pooled from his beaten paws. He was licking one of the worst wounds when he was hit. The monster that had hit him spun and collided with another, and as blackness fell over his eyes, his corpse was littered with metal debris.

Warriors Ship Hypokits: JayPoppy Edition

In this AU, Jaypaw is made a Warrior after a lot of hard work from his two joint-mentors Brightheart and Longtail and is named Jaywing, while his sister Hollyleaf becomes a Medicine Cat. Lionroar (Lionblaze) just vibes as per usual. Jaywing and Poppyfrost fell in love over the course of Jaywing’s Warrior training and become mates a while after they earn their Warrior Names. Also, mostly unrelated but Honeyfern survives in this AU as well and she and Berrynose have Molewhisker and Cherryfall together.

Jay and Poppy’s kits are:

Timbershade- tall and skinny brown-and-white tabby tom with blue-green eyes. Cis tom, asexual gay. He uses he/it pronouns. Poppyfrost made a joke about giving Timberkit the name Stickkit when it was first born; Jaywing was not amused. Of all Crowfeather’s ThunderClan grandkids, his build is the most obviously WindClan-like. While he tends to come off as very cold and doesn't appear to enjoy very much on the surface, he actually just has major rbf and a naturally monotone voice. Timbershade’s favorite thing to do is build and it loves designing and creating new structures. Sometimes it does this with no purpose in mind at all, which causes it to then get yelled at for wasting valuable building materials that could have been used for upkeep of current dens. This never seems to make him stop, though, and he always does it again at a later date with the same result. He is a Builder. 

Cardinalbelly- small and chubby dark ginger tolly with amber eyes. AMAB bigender, omnisexual. She uses he/she pronouns. Cardinalbelly’s stark orange pelt was a total surprise to everyone, but then again Firestar has strong genes so it probably shouldn't have been that much of a shock. He has a strong visual resemblance to his paternal grandaunt Squirrelflight and gets along pretty well with her. Cardinalbelly is a very sweet and happy cat who does his best to see the good in everything and everyone. She loves watching birds as a hobby and has a lot of knowledge of their behavior, making her very good at catching them. He is a Hunter.

Normal text means that the rule doesn’t change. Italic means it’s expected to follow it, bold is parts of rules that don’t apply, and rules marked by a number and letter (ex. 1a) are new rules that only apply to these clans.

1. Defend your clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other clans, but your loyalty must stay with your clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.

Friendships are not tolerated. Normally, friendships aren’t followed by exilement, but rather a down-rank. Sometimes, friendships are mistaken for relationships, and can result in worse punishments. It’s not too rare for cats to have relationships with the same gender, or at least thought to have these.

2. Do not hunt or tresspass on other Clan territory.

This rule doesn’t change. The consequenses from your leader are smaller, but conswquenses from the clan you tresspassed can be from a scolding to death. Their border patrols are unforgiving.

3. Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have premission, apprentices cannot eat until the elders have been fed. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they will be allowed to eat with the kits, elders, and queens.

This rule only applies to kits. Cats eat when theyre’s a satisfactory amount of prey in the fresh-kill pile. If the level isn’t reached, the rule will be applied as an expected rule.

4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give StarClan thanks for it’s life.

This rule doesn’t apply at all. Cats have learned how to catch deers and take the bones out to build walls for their camp, while still having a use for the body: feeding their predators so they won’t attack. Smaller prey is expected to only be eaten, but because you can’t really do anything with the bones.

5. A kit must be 6 moons old or older to become an apprentice.

This rule still applies. However, many things can push the date forward or back. First of all, medicine cats start at 5 moons, so if they have any warrior siblings, they will become full warriors/med cats just at the same time. If there aren’t enough cats in a role, they might be apprenticed 4-5 (warriors) or even 3-5 (meditatiors, predictors, extreme med cat shortages) moons early.

6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after recieving their warrior name.

This rule is changed a bit. They don’t hold vigils, instead they silently hunt. The warriors are allowed to eat one piece of prey they catch. The point of it is that the cats are both learning how to live alone and to be patient, as catching one of no pieces of prey causes the process to happen again two nights after.

7. A cat cannot become deputy until they have mentored at least one apprentice.

This applies to battle and spiritual deputies. Medicine deputies cannot be chosen as leader, and are instead they serve as prophecy analyzers and normal medicine cats.

8. The deputy will become leader when the leader dies, retires, or is exiled.

Not so fast there. If there is only one deputy (ex. battle deputy and leader went down together), they will become leader. If there is only a medicine deputy, they will lead. If there are NO deputies, the cat most closely related to the leader or a cat they chose will become leader, if not that then one of the ultimate warriors. When all deputies are alive, a vote is taken. The winner recieves their nine lives and the loser remains in their position. These battles are usually peaceful, but there was once a time where bloodshed came from the compitition of two brothers.

9. After the death, exilement, promotion, or retirement of a deputy, another will need to be chosen before sunrise.

This rule applies only to battle deputies. For spiritual deputies, they will be chosen after the apprenticeship of the new meditatior is done (the old one becomes the spiritual deputy). For medicine deputies, it will be the next oldest medicine cat (if any). The clans would rather have a meditator than a spiritual deputy, and a medicine deputy rather than a medicine cat.

11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all tresspassing cats.

Applied heavily. Borders are defended with lives. Sometimes, when cats are angry at the other clan, borders will also be marked with blood.

12. No warrior can neglet the pain from a kit, regardless of clan.

This is true. As long as they don’t go into enemy camp while helping a pained or troubled kit, they aren’t breaking rule 2. However, the kit is brought to the savior’s clan, and will only be returned after a fight. Generally they stay.

13. The word of the clan leader is the code.

Normally, the cats don’t need to follow leader commands, especially if the deputies don’t agree or didn’t say anything. However, they will commonly do it anyway.

14. An honorable warrior doesn’t need to kill to win battles.

Due to how much cats are killed in small skimmishes, the rule was recently downgraded to expected instead of nessecary. Generally, targeting a paticular cat is not allowed, but accidental killings during things like border patrols aren’t regarded as serious.

15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

The clan cats understand that their lifestyle is brutal, so cats are allowed to leave it behind for a kittypet life and are sometimes honored as some of the most peaceful cats.

16. The clans must stick together.

If you read this far, you get why this isn’t a rule. They don’t want to. They’ve hated each other since the beginning.

17a: No battles will be held over beliefs.

18a: If a clan is ill and need assistance, then the medicine cats must all team up to cure it.

Even though the clans themselves don’t stick together, the medicine cats do.

19a: The Mooncastle is neutral territory. Cats may not live or hunt there, and traveling to it outclasses rules 11 and 2. If a cat becoming leader is killed, the killer is exiled to the mountains.
