This zine was made before covid. Everything I've seen from water protectors is asking people to not travel there. Support those who are already doing direct action (links below) instead of exposing already vulnerable communities.

-As of 12/17/2020, 22 water protectors were recently arrested. Preparation for construction has been swift and aggressive.

I guess I haven’t posted this zine anywhere on tumblr yet but yeah heres the big shitty thing Minnesota has been fighting for sevenish years. This Black Snake problem ain’t gonna crush itself so if yinz can lend a hand to the water protector effort thad be gr8. donations, legal support, get word out, or rollup to the frontlines and throw down shoulder to shoulder with the Indigenous homies who’ve been fighting pipelines since there were pipelines - solidarity is everthing.  here’s a handy linktree *the zine was made in 2019, recently Enbridge just got their last needed permit. They’re currently entering construction despite pandemic conditions and multiple active lawsuits.

Featuring performances by: * Gayle Gibbons Maderia reading from her illustrated book “The Apocalypse Alphabet” an abecedarian book written in rhyme by Gayle Madeira and Artem Maloratsky centering on the challenges presented by anthropogenic climate change. With tongue-in-cheek humor and a nod to groups such as doomers and preppers, the book touches on many climate disasters that are either currently upon us or are looming due to human action and inaction. Gibbons illustration ranges from classical realism in oils to pen and ink drawings. * Mac McGill, Breeze Godfrey, Eric Blitz and On Davis performing a multimedia slide show and spoken word of graphic novel about the disastrous New Orleans flood of 2005. * Tamara Wyndham performing one of her highly-acclaimed BODY PRINTS about climate grief. Tamara's art connects emotion, spirit, and body; it connects dream and reality; and memory and the present. * Seth Tobocman, Bryce Churchill and Eric Blitz performing music to one of Seth's radical comic books. Tobocman is best known for his creation of the political comic book anthology World War 3 Illustrated, which he started in 1979 with fellow artist Peter Kuper. * Performance by Jeffrey Lewis. Lewis' lyrics are complex and literate, often combining a nihilistic world-view with a hopeful message and sharp wit.
