Complications
Falliase hadn’t seen Talos in the Archives again after giving him her reports - ‘exercises to practise his Cheuhn’ - and as far as the Jedi were concerned, studied, practised, and meditated like any other Padawan on the grounds of the Tython temple. If she spent a little more time in conversation than was usual, well, it was hardly surprising that she would seek out company after the loss of her master, and after such a terrible experience that had marked her so deeply. The Masters were not yet ready to pass a second, final judgement on her case; at least, not officially. Fallaise had seen them observing her with a thoughtful, guarded approval.
They would have worn quite another expression if they had known the full scope of her activities in the days that followed her meeting with Darth Nox. There were several meetings she overheard from various discreet positions; confidential reports that she was able to access; one or two susceptible people who had access she needed and worked on Tython without following the Jedi philosophy themselves; then, finally, there were the Archives.
What sort of spy would have spent weeks in there reading reports without perfecting a plan to access the restricted areas?
There was such a wealth of information there, but it wouldn’t do to get greedy. Fallaise ghosted in, found the current files the Jedi had on Sith leadership, then got out.
At least, that was the plan.
Some of it was essentially meaningless to her, and probably old news to Darth Nox: it sounded like the Sith claiming the title of ‘Emperor’s Wrath’ had done so and killed their former master, a member of the Dark Council, very openly. The Jedi weren’t sure what that title entailed beyond a personal connection to the Sith Emperor, but had marked the Wrath as a figure to watch. There was a current list of known members of the Dark Council: only seven names on it, though. Darth Thanaton was not among them, and that was pleasing.
Until she found the file that detailed what little the Jedi had observed of the Kaggath declared by Darth Thanton, and its outcome.
So.
Her master was dead, and this Darth Nox had full access to his files on her. He had chosen not to inform her of the former fact.
She would need to decide on her next move very carefully, but the restricted areas of the Jedi Archives were not the place.
Fallaise replaced the files, covered her tracks, and got out.
There was a great deal to consider.
