Credits and notes...

First, the obvious: lyrics are borrowed from "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus with some minor changes by me. :) Since this is very obviously Ripp Grunt's theme song I initially hesitated writing it at all, but a certain someone inspired me recently (keep reading)...

Strangetown high school is @yandereplumsim 's Paul D. Strange School. This lot is so perfect that it is now a permanent addition to every future Strangetown I explore! Thank you for sharing!

A few of you might remember my embarrassing panic over the 30-picture per post limit lol. I was able to rearrange my vision with minimal disruption (yay) but there was still plenty of footage that got cut (nooo), including a key transitional picture that I just couldn't squeeze in. I marked it with a (*), and I'll post that along with other fun outtakes soon.

I'm dedicating this one to @strangetomato -- I'm so happy you're active again. :') Hope you enjoy it!~

Paraiso En Las Rocas (If I can, I would also recommend to download the empty version (or populated, if you don't mind mixing up premades and OCs) of Paraiso En El Mar, because I think they complement each other. PEEM has so many gorgeous community lots! You can use PEEM as Main and PELR as subhood or do the opposite. Personally I would fill the empty version of PEEM with the DV, RVH and BC premades (or just choose some of them) since PELR has all the PV, ST and VV premades + one from BWV)

Been sorting out my Sims 2 hood pairings:

🌳 Pleasantview (PV) – using @strangetomato's PV with a twist, paired with Sim State University (SSU), Downtown (DT), and Bluewater Village (BV).

🛸 Strangetown (ST) – @chrisnewbie's PSP version, linked with La Fiesta Tech (LFT), Viper Canyon (VC), and Desiderata Valley (DV) using @katatty's DV makeover.

🎭 Veronaville (VV) – paired with Academie Le Tour (ALT), Belladonna Cove (BC), and Riverblossom Hills (RH) with @katatty's RH makeover.

All hoods include all vacation destinations obviously. I also plan to use @katatty's DT and uni hood makeovers in the future.

Thank you so much for doing afterflow defaults of the maxis hairs, they are wonderful! Do you think maybe one day you could do the maxis eyebrows or strangetomatoes defaults to match? No pressure either way.

Hiyo! luckily @spell-bloom has you covered with the maxis brows as they uploaded @antoninko's version of the maxis eyebrows defaults.

Personally, I use the Poppet brow DR SB made on that same upload page as they better suit my semi realistic style.

I went ahead and made a version of @strangetomato's DRs in case you or anyone else prefers their edits over maxis' originals ^^

For the combed brows I just used Antoniko's as they weren't included in Strangetomato's default. Everything's in one package file for your convenience.

using the bottom (ST) version, but all the top set (MMNT) is in CC for fall, for TF-EF. bottom standalone for EF as well. (adults can't have allllll the fun.)

TFTopJeansJacket replaced with Taylor’s TF conversion of Memento’s 4t2 SP03 Jacket Plaid conversion. @themeasureofasim made a similar replacement using this outfit; however, since we both used slightly different colors, I thought it would be okay to post my replacement to give everyone more options. Speaking of options, I knew there were at least two color palettes for this outfit, so I decided to give you the option of using either Memento’s recolors or StrangeTomato’s recolors.

Anyway, they’re for teen female sims, each version comes in five colors, they’re everyday only, and they have all morphs (Cordelia’s modeling the pregmorph for both versions). Since the outfit being released is from the base game, you don’t need any EPs installed for this to function properly.

A bit of TS2 Holiday Love

OK, guess the Sims community Holiday Love Meme is not going ahead this year (@strangetomato and family, I am sending you love and festive good wishes - if you want or need to move on from Simming, you will be missed, but I totally respect your decision) so I'll say this publicly.

Thank you so much to everyone who follows not just my very niche li'l simblr, but all of you who keep the Sims 2 community going strong. Everyone who posts their CC and gameplay, everyone who likes and comments on those posts, everyone who simply prefers to lurk. It warms my heart to see that TS2 is still a living, vibrant, creative community, that constantly grows more amazing with the achievements of its modders and players, who are still discovering new and exciting ways to adapt it. The support and kindness that every TS2 simmer I know shows is truly inspiring, and I can think of no other gaming community I'd rather be a part of. Some of my absolute best friends have been simmers past and present, and I am thankful to have known and interacted with them all.

Simblr friends, I hope that, whatever the holiday season means to you, it brings you joy and fulfilment that will last through the new year - and that this old, wonderful game and its dedicated players will comfort and support you through many more years. I know it has done exactly that for me.

Non-Sims Interests

I got tagged by @episims and thought this one looked like fun. Thank you, epi! Ofc like so many of us I kind of a sims monomaniac, but I do have a few other hobbies and interests (many of them tangentally related to sims, haha...)

D&D - I started playing this back when I was at university, and later decided I missed it enough to teach my friends how to play and became a dungeon master! I actually think it is very similar to sims in a lot of ways, where you get to do a lot of world-building and setting up of interesting situations, but you don't have complete control over what happens! That's all up to the players and the game-mechanics. Unlike sims though its a social sort of hobby, which keeps me from being a total hermit lol! Currently we are playing a setting inspired by ancient/mythological Greece, which ties into some of my other interests, too :)

Wrestling & Soap Oprea - As a kid I into Neighbours & WWE, like, religiously. These days I don't keep up with WWE to the same extent, but its an interest that revives itself every so often and I'll go through phases where I am super into it. I also watch Coronation Street these days and actually when I was at university a decade ago wrote my dissertation on 1960s Corrie! If you are a fan of both of these, you might get why I lumped them together - wrestling is kind of just a soap with tons of fight scenes, lol. I am a fan of really long-running "endless" series that weave together a lot of diffient characters and plots. I think for me the fact that the writing is very inconsistent and sometimes messy is part of the fun for me! It's a very dynamic and ever-evolving kinda storytelling I just love... (And yes, this obviously ties into my love of the Sims too, rotational gameplay is like a soap-oprea generator to me!)

History - I am not as much of a knowledge-hoarder as some people, but history is interesting to me! I did study it at university but didn't enjoy uni so much which caused the interest to die off a bit, but I have noticed its revived a fair bit over the last few years, now that its something I do for fun again. I know the most about England and Europe, but really like classical Greece & Rome, and lately I have been interested in Chinese history too

Literature - I am a bit on-and-off with reading (see previous post lol) and not as well-read as some, but I like reading a lot! A few years ago I read Moby Dick & it triggered some kinda deep obsession in me which causes me to bring up Moby Dick in conversation, like, I guess a lot more than the average person. Every so often a book makes a deep enough impression that it gets etched permentantly into my personality lol

Other Games - I am not a HUGE gamer because I am always mostly playing sims lol, but I do play other titles sometimes! I go through a big Dwarf Fortress phase a couple of times a year which always obliterates all my other hobbies & my social life. I also really like Visual Novels, I think they are suuuuuch a cool and under-rated genre (but the best ones are all X-rated, so, like, I get why LOL). Oh, and I was super-obsessed with Dragon Age Origins when I played it! Sadly none of the later games made as big of an impact on me

Hiking & Nature - this is kind of a basic one, I feel like most people enjoy this? But I do love the Great Outdoors! My dad is more into it than me, he is very into gardening and also regularly goes on big walking holidays and knows a ton about plants, trees, and wildlife... I think he instilled an appreciation for nature in me as a kid and its something I get a lot out of, too! I would love to eventually live somewhere that has a garden, and hope to maybe go on a camping trip or two this year :)

So it seems that Livejournal has now completely removed most of my story images (as of yesterday). The only remaining images are from Chapter Thirty-Five (Part Four) onward. At least Chapter Thirty-Six onward is there, as that's the most significant arc, but all the same, I'll need to fix it. Luckily my LJ image folders are still accessible and the html confirms which image goes where.

I was planning to repost the images for Dreamwidth anyway, as the LJ links didn't work for a lot of them. I had imported my chapters there a long time ago, so that makes reposting the story a bit easier. I've also updated the chapter list there, and I will be adding images a bit at a time:

Obviously, many images are missing. The (go to chapter --) links haven't been updated yet, so those mostly take you back to LJ for now.

Now I just need to summon the courage and attention span to get through the job (plus find the time). Encouragement is very welcome. Say a prayer to the ADHD gods for me.

On a positive note, I'm also chipping away at images for the next update. It's getting there, slow and steady.

To pick himself back up, Orlando calls up DJ Verse, who he met at the LFT Student Union, and asks her out downtown. Because subtlety is for other sims, he picks a nightclub, The Romantic, as their date spot. This ends up being a pretty good choice.

Side note plug: I love this lot by @strangetomato. If your computer can handle it, I highly recommend it for Romance sims and Downtown neighborhoods. Plus, it has this awesome Bella shrine!

i haven't been here in years so i'm very limited right now sadly! there are lots of gameplay simblrs i follow but for actual traditional stories i only know a few!

bunheadbuns on lj had one called pixel peaks that was pretty cool but sadly photobucket watermarked all the pics. i would still read it tbh

@yakumtsaki has a pet asylum (electra!!!!) that is pretty entertaining also apparently a story that i need to read since i didn't know it existed til i went looking for the pet link??? so add no love lost too lol
