Not sure if it is anything special but I love love the style of journey and sky children of the light, do they use any shaders in specific?
did a pretty deep dive into the sparkly sand of journey but hooo boy sky children of the light
this is my shader white whale . some day i want to know how they do this. holding out for their incredibly talented graphics engineer john edwards to do a gdc talk or something on them like he did for the sand in journey. this game runs on phones!!!! its a mobile game!!!!!!!!
all i know is that journey uses something called "blobs" to do the terrain and clouds , which i imagine is some kind of SDF/voxel rendering, meaning instead of making a sphere out of triangles/quads like most games do, they would just say "hey, put a sphere here" and it is a perfect sphere because you can use math to find where the sphere starts/stops.. like here's a simplified example in 2d, where the left is what most render engines do building things out of triangles/quads (or in this case lines), and right, what sdf engines do
so anyways having these things be SDF lets you do a ton of stuff you wouldnt be able to do like smooth noise displacement and fancy lighting calculations (though i imagine a lot of the lighting is baked ahead of time. this game runs on a phone !!!!! but also this game has a day/night/weather cycle so actually it might be realtime ?!?) if it is run ahead of time the lighting setup is probably run in a very similar way to how Actual clouds are rendered and mapped to the clouds in some way (through a texture? through the vertex color? this thing is a SDF does it even have vertex colors? maybe a point cloud generated from the SDF?) and if its realtime. then they either found a very fast way to do that lighting calculation with the SDFs or they found something that approximates it very well
and then for the surface of the clouds.. my best guesses is they are using a noise to wiggle around the surface of the SDF in a way that makes it look all fluffy and cloudy, or they are using some kind of particle system to add extra little bits of SDF to the surface of the clouds. or both!!! maybe they do one for close-up and one for far.. i dont know!!! i want to learn so bad though. it is such a pretty game
#cirivere#ask#potion of answers your question#gamedev stuff#its not Just sdf based though only the terrain and clouds#structures and stuff are meshes

Can you do MHA men lingerie preferences too?
PS: I just LOOVE your posts gurl
katsuki bakugo
material: rough lace or fishnet. something a little gritty. he loves when it looks like it might bite back.
colors: black, red, or deep burgundy. the more intense, the better. he goes feral for red against your skin.
coverage: minimal. he likes micro thongs, crotchless lace, strappy bras. anything that barely counts as coverage and leaves him growling.
what he does: bakugo rips it. every time. doesn’t matter if it’s brand new or your favorite piece. if he’s hard, that fabric is getting shredded. he’ll curse under his breath about how “fuckin’ hot you are” while he ruins it.
“you knew i was gonna tear it off anyway, didn’t you? don’t whine, i’ll buy you another one after i’m done ruining you.”
shoto todoroki
material: soft satin or silk, maybe something with delicate embroidery. he likes sensual elegance with a hint of innocence.
colors: pale blue, icy white, soft lilac. he’s drawn to gentle colors that remind him of serenity and how much he wants to taint it.
coverage: demi bras, cheeky panties, soft corsets. he likes beautiful structure but nothing too wild. understated, expensive-looking.
what he does: todoroki leaves it on. slowly peels things down, kisses along the seams. he treats lingerie like a gift he’s unwrapping, reverent but intense.
“this is… breathtaking. stay just like this. i want to see you fall apart in it.”
izuku midoriya
material: sheer mesh or soft tulle. something light and almost innocent. he blushes when he sees it, but his hands shake with restraint.
colors: blush pink, mint green, creamy neutrals. pastel, sweet, and secretly sinful.
coverage: he likes matching sets with bows, maybe a garter belt or harness if he’s feeling bold. he loves the detail—tiny charms, silk ties, ribbon straps.
what he does: izuku’s torn. he doesn’t want to ruin it, but the second he gets overwhelmed, it’s getting shoved aside or pushed up. he tries to be gentle but… good luck.
“y-you wore this for me? i… i don’t know if i can hold back—just—please, let me touch you.”
denki kaminari
material: wet-look latex, glitter mesh or holographic fabrics. he’s obsessed with anything shiny, sparkly or a little wild.
colors: electric yellow, silver, pink. he wants it loud and bright. he wants to see you light up.
coverage: fun, slutty stuff. crotchless panties, sequin bras, body chains, neon straps. if it glows or sparkles, he’s on his knees.
what he does: denki gasps, laughs, worships. he’s not ripping anything unless you tell him to. he’ll play with every strap, lick every line and beg to keep it on for round two.
“you’re seriously trying to kill me, huh? i’m gonna take pictures next time. no way i’m letting this be a one-time thing.”
eijiro kirishima
material: stretchy lace, ribbed cotton or soft leather something tough but pretty. he loves when it hugs your curves just right.
colors: cherry red, jet black or white. he’s obsessed with the contrast of sweet and spicy wrapped together.
coverage: classic sexy. full sets with matching bras and panties, garter belts, maybe a strappy harness. he loves when you look like a bombshell.
what he does: kirishima groans the moment he sees it, praise spilling out of his mouth. he tries not to tear it, really, but he gets too into it sometimes and those panties? gone.
“you wore all this for me? damn, baby… i’m gonna lose my fuckin’ mind. stay right there, i gotta see you come in this.”
hanta sero
material: mesh, latex, or vinyl. something fun and wild. he wants to see everything but still feels like he’s unwrapping a treat.
colors: neon pink, gold, checkerboard black-and-white. bonus if it’s playful or themed, he’s lowkey a cosplay menace too.
coverage: bodysuits with cutouts, crotchless lingerie, strappy harnesses and anything with zippers or clips. if it’s interactive? he’s obsessed.
what he does: sero wants you to keep it on. he’ll bend you over in it, push things aside, snap straps against your thighs and laugh when you gasp. such a teasing little shit.
“god… you’re a walking fantasy, babe. turn around for me—no, no, don’t take it off. i want to feel it while i ruin you.”
hitoshi shinsou
material: sheer lace or mesh with velvet trim. he likes elegant pieces that whisper sin, not scream it. something that looks too pretty on you.
colors: dusty plum, navy, muted black. he likes deep tones that suit his nighttime energy and how they contrast against your skin in low light.
coverage: lacy bralettes, open-front panties, garter sets, maybe a mesh robe. he’s into layering, because he wants to peel you out of it slowly.
what he does: shinsou doesn’t rip. he peels. undresses you in silence, then ruins you in it just to hear the way you moan his name through the fabric. sometimes he’ll tie your wrists with your own lingerie after.
“took your time picking this out, huh? good. means you knew i’d take my time fucking you in it.”
neito monoma
material: high-end lace, satin or velvet. he’s got prince syndrome and wants his partner looking regal, luxurious, like a trophy only he deserves.
colors: gold, ivory, navy blue. he hates anything tacky. but if it’s couture-level sexy? he’s obsessed.
coverage: elegant bodysuits, pearl straps, underbust corsets. he wants it ornate, like a lingerie chandelier. he’ll buy it for you himself.
what he does: monoma peels it off delicately unless you tease him too hard. then he snaps. shreds the thong with his teeth and acts like you owe him for breaking character.
“look at you, trying to steal the spotlight. typical. but fine. i’ll give you a performance no one else could handle.”
tamaki amajiki
material: soft lace, jersey, anything gentle. he doesn’t want you uncomfortable. he’s shy but secretly addicted to texture against your skin.
colors: lavender, baby blue, peach. soft tones that feel innocent and calm him… until they don’t.
coverage: shy designs. boy shorts, soft bralettes, halter lingerie. but catch him staring when you wear a bodysuit or high-leg panties. he can’t look away.
what he does: tamaki freezes at first. but when he finally touches? he keeps everything on. lifts it, moves it, parts it. something about you being wrapped up for him makes him feral.
“i—i want to see you like this more. n-not just tonight. all the time. please… d-don’t take it off yet.”
mirio togata
material: soft stretch lace, microfiber or ribbed cotton. he’s very hands-on, so he likes material that moves with your body.
colors: sunshine yellow, sky blue, blush. he wants you in cheerful, innocent-looking pieces that make it way hotter when he flips you over.
coverage: cheeky panties, crop-top bras, romper-style lingerie or playful pieces with bows. he’s into fun, flirty, easy access designs.
what he does: mirio is a menace. slips the fabric aside like it’s nothing, laughs into your neck when you moan, and keeps it on just to feel it against his abs while he moves.
“awww, you wore this to seduce me? it’s working. big time. c’mere, sunshine, don’t even think about takin’ it off.”
shouta aizawa
material: high-end silk, soft cotton, or sheer lace. something comfortable but sensual. he loves when it’s something you like wearing.
colors: black, charcoal gray, deep wine. nothing flashy, just sleek, elegant and effortlessly sexy.
coverage: classic sets—lace bralette, garter belt, thigh highs. bonus if it’s under an oversized shirt. he gets off on contrast: calm, casual, then filthy underneath.
what he does: aizawa takes his time. he peels it off with his teeth or fingers, slow and sleepy, like he’s savoring dessert. sometimes he leaves the thigh highs on while he pulls you apart.
“you always look so good for me. relax, lemme take care of everything.”
present mic
material: fishnet, neon mesh, glitter lace. he’s a visual man. he wants texture, color, and the promise of a show.
colors: neon yellow, hot pink, electric blue. he’s into vibrant pieces that practically scream his name, like you’re daring him to go feral.
coverage: wild and bold. crotchless mesh, body harnesses, strappy garters, chokers. he loves a good collar on you.
what he does: hizashi worships first, moans second, devours third. he talks you through every step while pushing the lingerie aside or biting it down. he’s vocal, messy, filthy.
“yeahhh, baby! look at you, all dressed up like my favorite song! now let me play you like a goddamn instrument.”
all might
material: satin, classic lace or cotton with embroidered hearts. he loves softness, elegance, something that makes you look precious.
colors: red, royal blue, cream. something wholesome, but his brain short-circuits when he realizes how unwholesome you plan to be in it.
coverage: tasteful, delicate sets. high-waist panties, balconette bras, maybe a vintage garter if you’re feeling bold. he loves the mix of innocence and temptation.
what he does: he starts gentle, reverent. then the power kicks in. one tug and the lingerie shreds like tissue paper. he apologizes while fucking you through the mattress.
“oh my goodness, my dear… you’re breathtaking. please forgive me, i can’t seem to hold back when you look like this…”
keigo takami
material: feathered accents, mesh, anything with shimmer. he’s obsessed with texture and movement. he wants it to catch his eye and make him chase.
colors: gold, champagne, or crimson. he likes richness, sex appeal with flair. bonus points if it has glitter or reflective thread.
coverage: open-back panties, split cups, body chains. he loves pieces that tease. the more dramatic the reveal, the more it turns him on.
what he does: hawks slides it aside or down your thighs while grinning. he gets off on leaving it mostly on. fucking you in it, wings spread, praising every inch.
“goddamn, baby… look at you. don’t take it off—i want to fuck you while you sparkle.”
dabi
material: tattered lace, shredded mesh, anything that looks wrong. he wants lingerie that’s already begging to be destroyed, just like you.
colors: black, ink-blue, blood red. no pastels, no sweetness, he wants danger wrapped around your hips.
coverage: barely-there. slashed panties, strap harnesses, nipple pasties. if it leaves more skin than it hides, he’s obsessed.
what he does: dabi burns through patience. he pushes it aside with scorched hands or yanks it down so roughly it leaves lines on your skin. and if it tears? even better.
“you really thought you were gonna wear this and walk away untouched? nah doll, i’m about to ruin you and the fabric.”
tomura shigaraki
material: ripped fishnet, mesh with holes, vintage lace that looks cursed. he likes the wrong things. decay and desire, all in one.
colors: ash gray, ultraviolet, dirty white. anything faded or offbeat. he gets off on the unconventional.
coverage: garters that dangle, torn bodysuits, pieces with weird asymmetry or cutouts. he doesn’t want pretty. he wants obsessive.
what he does: shigaraki claws it down with trembling hands, breath ragged. sometimes he stares first, like he can’t believe you’re real. then he loses it, hard.
“you wore this for me? fuck—mine. you’re mine. i don’t care what i break, you’re staying like this.”
mr. compress
material: embroidered lace, silk, velvet. he adores vintage glamour. he wants you to look like a cabaret illusion before he pulls the final trick and ruins you.
colors: wine red, black and gold, deep emerald. rich jewel tones. he’s a connoisseur of decadence and loves you in lingerie that looks stolen from a victorian brothel.
coverage: corsets, longline bras, opera gloves, high-waist panties, thigh-highs with garters. the full fantasy. he moans when you match the aesthetic.
what he does: he removes it with flair. slow glove peels, teasing snaps of garters and a dramatic flair for the dramatic. sometimes he’ll leave your corset on while he folds you in half, just to hear it creak.
“ah, mon chéri… you’ve turned seduction into performance art. shall i reward you with my final act?”
spinner
material: ripped mesh, faux leather, shredded fishnet. he’s not elegant. he likes things that look edgy, punk or straight-up raunchy.
colors: black, acid green, dark red. bonus if it looks like it’s from a street market or has safety pins holding it together.
coverage: very little. micro thongs, torn-up bodysuits, lingerie that looks more like a dare. he’s into zipper-fronts, studs and anything he can bite.
what he does: spinner barely lets you get it on before he’s pushing you into the wall. he pants like a dog, claws at the straps, accidentally rips it (but secretly loves that). very growly. very desperate.
“fuck—you look like a sin i wasn’t built to survive. don’t move. don’t fix it. i want it messy.”
twice
material: soft cotton, silk, or mesh. anything that feels nice. he wants you to be comfy while looking like his sexy little dream. if it’s soft to the touch, he’s kissing it everywhere.
colors: black and white, baby pink or something themed. he’d lose it over a bunny lingerie set. full-on nosebleed.
coverage: classic cute! lacy sets, little bows, halter necklines, or themed lingerie (nurse? maid? his favorite version of you? yes.)
what he does: twice can’t decide. one side of him wants to treasure it, the other wants to tear it off with his teeth. usually ends up alternating: kisses down your stomach, then rips the panties and moans like it hurt him more.
“oh god, you’re so hot—wait, no! you’re beautiful! but sexy! fuck, can i clone you so i can fuck you and worship you at the same time?!”

LET'S TALK ABOUT WALLS & THE K-FAKTORY : HUGE UPDATE :)
For our 500th post, we really had to make something special ... So here we go !
We just finished to post on our website both direct x11 update of our walls and the release of brand new walls :) for a total of 80 walls ... Proof we do not make overrides only :D
OH NO ! A BIT OF MATHS HERE ...
Before the direct x11 update, quality walls were calculated on a base of 1 tile ( 256px ) so we were used to create 3 sizes for each wall ( 768 - 1024 -1280 ) ...

I scratched a long time my head to search a good soluce to keep the best quality possible ... When you make a very maxis match wall, flat style and so on, you use the same sizes than maxis : 512px ( for 768/3 tiles ) - 512px ( for 1024/4 tiles ) - 1024px ( for 1280/5 tiles )
The problem when you make more realistic walls, ( and even more with bricks and minerals, stone, wood and so on ) is that all textures are stretched as hell : 512 -> 768 - 512 -> 1024 - 1024 -> 1280
We finally decided to make 1 no-destructive size of 1024px for all 3 sizes ... in order to be 100% compliant with direct x11 :)

We tested. It is not at all more heavy than our previous direct x9 walls :) and it stretches the tall wall size from only 0.25, which means a few pixels only, same than maxis, and for the short & medium size, the result is much more fine, far away from the maxis match stretch ;) Here some examples :

WALLS EVERYWHERE ...
Here are some new walls and new re-work texturing we made recently, meaning downloadable on our website but not yet released ... until now of course :)

Wood Cottage Botanika Walls set 1-2-3 : Those are 3 sets of low paneling wood walls with peaceful wallpapers. For your cosy cottage.

Wood Flower Walls set 1 : Full wood walls with spring/summer leaves painted upon. Those ones are truly beautiful. Perfect for summer. The orange one may even be good for Halloween. Try it is adopt it :D

Mosaic Pool Walls sets 1&2 : Those ones are on our website for a long time now. We updated the texture pixels to get a cleaner result, without destroying the vintage grain ;) the fish is not included ...

Paper Noise Fabric Walls set 1 : This one is a re-combined set of 2 older sets ... We took the best of both and made a new set. Cool.

Wood Breeze Walls set 1 : A Classic summer wood shutter style for your outside/inside walls ... Perfect for a patio. What else ?

Wood Classic-Panel Walls set 1 : A very classic style of panels which could be perfect for your own private library ... True wood, based upon true panels ... what are you waiting for ? :D

Wood Tri-Wood Walls set 1 : An easy full wood structure and a good style of panels for your shops. Contemporary without any too much touch. Soft and cosy indeed !

Wood Westside Walls set 1 : Another full wood style of panels. And when we say full wood, we really mean true wood. Quality of life and style guaranteed ;)
... And here are some of the ones we re-made during our updates :)

Do not forget to have a visit to the k-Faktory ! We have 70 different sorts of concrete, numerous bricks, many many mineral lime walls and some really cool metal walls too. You won't regret it :D And as always, quality is privileged over quantity ... true wood, true masonry, true stone ;)
Well, what more about the k-Faktory ?
A huge update of many things and stuff inside the sims4 k-faktory such as :
many new sets of walls ( yes! )
the Wicked Bookcase ( really )
some new furniture ( a few )
the Photonik Windows update
I invite you to get a cosy promenade along of our 14 pages of things and stuff, have a look and who knows ? You may find some packages which could interest your Sims ;) And we advice strongly to update the Photonik 44 windows in order to avoid glitches we found recently. We remade ALL the meshes, and some based on a new ea model ... gosh, it took a really hard working time for these ones ! ;)

Well, I have to stop now :D Lack of place for the pictures and too much talk for a single post :) Have a cool journey on tech-hippie websites, and more : have fun ! See you soon for the coming k-707 new batch of available expansions ( Strangerville, Chestnut Ridge, Komorebi ) :)
ALL the Downloads : here

Starlight Express Costume Ramblings
So I've been talking about various Starlight costumes, looking at details of specific characters, but there's some things that come up over and over and I thought it might be valuable to talk about some techniques they use, not specific to one character. I'm also totally going to miss really obvious things out on this post because... yeah...

Fabrics - most of the Starlight costumes are hand-painted, hand-printed, and custom dyed spandex fabrics. A lot of what I've seen is supershine heavy stretch satin spandex, the fabric that is known by some combination of those words! It's a good stretch, nylon blend - nylon takes dyes beautifully, polyester does not! The majority of body suits in the show are stretch fabrics, and a lot of the detailing is as well - maybe more for convenience that there's offcuts of the right colour to hand, than the details need to be made from stretch fabric.

Padding - "foam" gets mentioned a lot! But there's different types of foam for different uses.
So, Starlight is a sweaty show. Costumes need to be washed after every performance - which is a challenge with the three dimensional padded suits. The solution is filter foam - the pic here of blue fabric being stitched into rows, we can see the filter foam at the edge. This stuff is great because it's a very open structure compared to other foam, water passes right through it. It is literally meant for aquatic filters, it just happens to be very useful for costuming!
We can see the hanging samples here, of Poppa's overalls (the green speckled fabric) that it's been layered with the foam, then quilted - the costume will also have a lining of the sports mesh we can see in the other photo. This stuff is also great for quick drying, low friction so easy to pull on - important for a lining - and a strong liner. I think the white we see here is Dustin's underbody.

Underwear - the performers wear a full body unitard under the costume. Clearly this isn't hugely popular with the cast, but it's got a vital function - that layer catches all the damaging oils and skincare products, deodorant stains go on the unitard not the costume! We also see Dustin has a harness to take the weight of the big costume.

Straps and Snaps - a very common method of connecting pieces which is so simple when you know - straps that pass through D rings, and snap back onto themselves. Caboose has them particularly exposed connecting his jacket to his belt, but they're used in much more subtle places. Generally the straps will be sewn to the body suit with D rings attached to the panel when it's a matter of attaching solid to fabric, but it can go the other way it seems. The straps seem to be elastic - the stitching on them is always a stretch stitch.

Velcro and Other Fastenings - Buffy here has a big patch of soft velcro that holds her chest box central. The trouble with velcro, you can see here around the velcro patch - the rough velcro EATS spandex! Nylon/spandex fabric won't pill and go fuzzy without a lot of damage - but velcro is enough to do that damage. We can also see some damage around the patches on Ashley's knees, but in both cases, the costume piece being attached more than covers the damaged area, and sometimes velcro is just the exact connection you need and nothing else will do the job!

Kneepads - the kneepads start off with a foundation made of EVA foam. This is covered with the decorative fabrics, then a clear vacuum-formed top layer that is stitched on - that's the thread visible on the edges. Those bowls get scratched up quickly and need replacing quite frequently. The kneepads are held on with three straps - the central strap seems to be fixed, the top and bottom are adjustable to tighten properly to stay in place.

Moulded Decorations - there's a lot of wheels and buffers involved in these trains! They seem to be foam latex - although there is a relatively new mouldable eva foam product that they might well be using now, it seems to last as well as latex and no risk of allergies.

EVA Foam - I'm old, ok? I'm still reeling at the materials that used to be so hard to come by are now actively marketed at cosplayers! One of those things is EVA foam. Back in my day you had to search far and wide to get EVA foam, and cut your own bevels!
But here is the secret to the slinkies - the springs, the sharp profile ridged details. EVA foam in a triangular profile sewn into the fabric gives you the structural shapes, that are still washable. The EVA foam isn't quick drying like filter foam, but it's much stronger and holds its shape. If you were making a one-off cosplay and didn't want to make a mould for the buffers, the cones and spheres cut in half would do you well as a base...
EVA foam is also the base for most of the big costume pieces - either covered in vinyl and painted and decorated, or as the solid inside the vacuum-formed pieces.

I've not covered the skates, or wigs and helmets, what else have I missed? hopefully I've covered some useful details that might satisfy curiosity, or help with cosplay planning!

ngl i really hate Doof as Prof Time because it just doesnt make any sense that he invented time travel, its already been invented with that time travel machine at the museum and then PnF rebuilding said machine, having Doof be the father of time travel is such nonsense
oh my god I got sooo mad at the depiction of time travel in mml. it wouldn’t have been as bad if they hadn’t set it in the same universe as pnf but when you’ve already established how time travel works in that show it doesn’t make sense to completely change it for another. like why is it in pnf when there’s a new timeline characters just pop out of existence but in mml we have the whole island of lost dakotas? which isn’t a bad concept in itself but it just totally contradicts their previous rules
overall mml would have been so much better if it wasn’t tied so much to pnf. that’s why (at least IMO) season 1 is so much better than season 2, because it’s all about original characters and original stories and isn’t relying so much on another show. because when you rely on another show you have to take into account the history of that show and the way that pnf worked just didn’t quite mesh with mml the way that they wanted it to. they were too different to be reconciled in a way that wasn’t frustrating. I’m glad hamster & gretel chose to for the most part stay disconnected from pnf, I think that’s one of its strengths
but yeah I really just hate professor time for reasons even unrelated to all the time travel stuff. first of all I don’t know why it HAD to be him?? it couldn’t have been literally any other character? no, we had to bring him in from another show just to completely mess up his personal timeline and force some weird “destiny” on him that he doesn’t even want and that doesn’t even fit him. and he just kind of abandons everything he had in pnf for this “destiny,” like why isn’t perry with him? you’re telling me he spends the entire season whinging and moping about perry not spending time with him and then in the future he’s all alone? ok. where’s vanessa? she only shows up in that one scene to give him perry’s card. norm is just decapitated and his building has exploded (which happened a billion times in pnf but somehow this time it’s irreparable?) and he doesn’t give a shit. ok. remember that scene at the end of LDOS where they’re all hanging out as a happy family? I guess that dissolves pretty quickly. like his whole involvement in the show is so so weird and out of character and unnecessary. and the 1 time (i think) when he does show up as prof time in the pnf effect it’s such a dumb deus ex machina ending and that just annoyed me from a writing standpoint. and again all of this could’ve been improved if it were a different character but no
it sucks because it really sours my view of mml and I’d probably rewatch it more if the 2nd season weren’t so frustrating but it just makes me want to rewatch pnf instead. at least when that show’s frustrating it resets by the next episode but the way mml is structured with long story arcs you have to deal with writing choices you don’t like forever

"An upcoming community center in Tanzania will be defined by its cutting-edge 3D-printed design. However, rather than being built from layered concrete as you'd usually expect with 3D-printed projects, its walls will be created using locally sourced soil.
The community center is being headed by Hassell, in collaboration with Australian-based charity foundation One Heart, for the Hope Village in Tanzania. It forms part of a wider plan to provide housing, a school, childcare and skills training to vulnerable young girls in Kibaha, eastern Tanzania.
"The Hope Village community hall design seeks to create a beautiful, functional, safe and uplifting environment that provides both hope and education for vulnerable girls," says Mark Loughnan, Principal and Head of Design at Hassell. "The hall is a welcoming space that creates an innovative central activity hub that also connects with its surrounding environment. The design and building process for the hall aims to engage the community and provide ongoing opportunities for local participation and education throughout construction."
Structurally, the community center is quite complex. Its walls (which are not load-bearing) will be built using soil sourced within 25 km (15.5 miles) of the site and a WASP 3D printer. WASP has been researching this stuff for years now and a previous project used a mixture of mud, straw, rice husk and lime. A similar process will be happening here, with a clay based earthen mixture being extruded out of a nozzle in layers to build up the walls. A representative at Hassell told us that the walls will also be reinforced with a thin wire mesh between layers.

Inside, the design brief calls for a large, open floorplan that suits the local climate, with a limited number of columns to ensure its flexibility. To achieve this, Hassell has conceived a central steel beam that serves as the structural spine of the hall. This will support a roof made from locally sourced timber sections. The roof will feature cladding made of readily available corrugated metal sheet panels, helping to keep costs down.
The project also involves the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, IAAC, and ClarkeHopkinsClarke. We've no word yet on when it's expected to be completed, though prototype walls have already been produced.

Pictured: A prototype of the community center's 3D printed walls has already been created.

"Important update for flat chest mod users!"

Addressing Streetkid-named-desire and Wanderingaldecaldo unecessary update on the Flat Chest Detector and their claim of it being for the "community's sake"
The update for the Flat Chest Detector has now been reverted
Apologise in advance for the salt and for the upcoming modding lesson
TL:DR
Both the Wearable Flat Chest and Flat Chest Body mods were already compatible; this "important update" is nowhere near important for users who already used either or both mods together They will continue to be perfectly compatible and you do not need this now reverted "update"

Let's start from the begining;
For pride this month, I've released a binder-like mod, in the form of a wearable flat chest
I've published my Wearable Flat Chest on June 14th
On the same day, Streetkid-named-desire made multiple posts publicly trashing my mod and assuming all kind of stuff
You can see my response to these assumption here
One person that have been really supportive of their post is WanderingAldecaldo; its not really important to point it out but for those who know she's been passively harassing me for the past 4years, it's nothing surprising and explain a lot as to why this is happening at all.
Side note: WanderingAldecaldo has been blocked back in early 2021 I've been avoiding her and her content ever since; the only reason I know of this reply is because my friends warn me of everything that might create unecessary stress in the near or far future, like today
Anyway, these two were mad at my mod because they did not like it
Shortly after the release of my wearable chest mod, I contacted Berdagon, creator of the Bulge Detector script, and asked him if I could commission another script from him
Modding lesson time: To understand the nature of the problem, it's important to understand how dynamic mods works, I'll try to make it as simple as possible and link to the wiki when necessary The majority of body mods now have Body Tag As you can see on the Wiki, the Flat Chest Body have a body tag as well, meaning it's compatible with Dynamic Refit
But what are Dynamic Refits? In the past, modders had to publish their refits as replacers, meaning an additional mod that users who use custom body mods had to download along the main clothing mod Some body mods, like Adonis, VTK small and VTK big do not support dynamic refits yet, and still requires replacers
Now, the majority of mods come directly packed with refits, meaning whatever compatible custom body will get detected by AXL and the correct mesh, the correct refit, will automatically be used when equipping the garment For that, clothes modders can use multiple ways of including Dynamic Refit detection; I personally use Subtitutions to detect both the gender and body
Here's my latest garment mod structure; you can see my Dynamic Refits for both female and male frames, for both Gymfiend and Angel AND You can also see my dynamic refits for my wearable flat chest, the meshes that ends with "_flat"
Now, if dynamic refits are already a thing, why did I need to commission the Flat Chest Detector? Because as I said earlier, and in my initial mod release, my Flat Chest is not a body mod; it's a wearable garment, it's a "binder" and I wanted it to work like a proper binder. Body mods tags are directly included in AXL I needed a custom script to detect my custom modded garment as something that could influence other garments only when equipped
As you can see in my own mod, Dynamic Body Refits and the Flat Chest Detector already works fine together, as I've used it in my mod for my racerback top and my fishnet top, refited for the Angel body, so why did they need to edit it to "make it compatible" ?
Well that's the thing. They did not have to, as it's already compatible.
To be perfectly clear here, the flat chest body and the wearable flat chest are two really different mods; in how they're structured, in how they're made, how they work and in how they LOOK too. SKD made it really clear in their multiple vent posts how much different they are
SKD mention it again in their recent post; the two chest are different, they requires different refits to avoid clipping, which is Normal for different mods and has always been normal for body mods
You can't use EBB refits for EBBP, you can't use EBBP for Angel, you can't use Angel for Lush, etc etc etc. Even Adonis and Gymfiend, while being similar, require different refits.
I don't see any logical reasons why my flat chest has to be treated differently
If clothes modders want to fit both chest mods, they can do it already, by using the Flat Chest body visual tag, and using the wearable Flat chest script detector (I made a tutorial for it)
Here, let me show y'all how easy it is
Boom, now my mod is compatible with both the Flat Body mod and the wearable flat chest! Wow, can't believe how hard that was.
Does it look confusing? Sure, if you don't know what you're doing, which I'm assuming is why both Wash and SKD felt the need to go and ask for an edit of the script for no reason
Let me explain it so you two don't go up other people's business in the future
the {body} substition will detect the first "_flat" as being the flat body mod, automatically using the correct "flat" refit that fit Na's body
if equipping my wearable flat chest, the mod will automatically switch to the "_flat_flat" version, thanks to the flat chest detector script and to how I set up my garment entity's components
The name of the meshes doesn't matter for the Flat Chest Detector, I could've named it "_flat_butusethisonefortheequipableflatchest" and it would've worked all the same.
See how easy that is? Yeah. It was always this easy, always this approchable, always this simple.
Making it really clear: I did NOT give them permission to edit my racerback set mod
My clothing mods were made for the wearable flat chest only, I did not include refits for the flat chest body mod
They edited my mod without permission so that it could be detected and work with the flat chest body mod. They edited my mod and its structure to change it to use their new "BaseBodyFlat" tag, that did not need to exist, just so they could use my refits
Instead of asking to make their own refit for the body mod they want, if they really liked the clothes this much and wanted to use them? Like normal users? Like users have been doing for the past years?
I commissioned (= paid) the Flat Chest Detector script for my mod to work with dynamic refits. Body Mods already have access to dynamic refits and modder could already make refits for both flat chests if they wanted to, like I said multiple time in this post
This script edit did not need to be created.
I wish WanderingAldecaldo would leave me and my stuff alone. She had no business "looking into the script in the first place", for what reason? Like I said, everything was working fine before
Its fine not to know how new tools and system works, but ffs.
Don't go and edit people's work without their permissions and make a fuse about it online, proudly displaying it as some kind of service to the community, a service to modders and to users, because it's really not
I've already talked with Berdagon, he obviously had no idea about all the beef and all the drama that happened regarding the Flat Chest, and I'm not mad at him for updating the script; I'm sad that he has been used as a tool in this pathetic little "fandom war" disguised as a "service for the community"
From what Berdagon told me and what I've seen, Ratstick (= SKD) has been really persuasive in making it seems like this update would "beneficiate everyone, users and modders" when all it did was making both Berdagon and Psiberx work and edit their script for no reason, because again, it was already possible to fit both bodies in the same mods if you wanted to since everything involved support dynamic refits
It's up to clothes modders to decide which mod they want to support.
Don't edit their work without their permission, it should be a commonly known and respected fact, but it seems I was mistaking
Sorry for the long post, as you can imagine I'm properly pissed, but I hope this was easy to understand and maybe even educative on how clothes mods and scripts work

Trying to get the rest of this Proscenium Phantasm Au stuff posted without seeming too overeager lol;
But here's some Thespius Greens! (Post ascension under the cut. Tw for eyes, body horror, you know the drill)

So the thing about Thespius is that, as a God in this au, he's not solely ruling over the domain of "Love."
Thespius is the Heart and Soul; which encapsulates Love, but also Passion, Emotion and Autonomy. There are many, MANY facets to this, as Love is timeless, and thus technically Thespius has always BEEN this embodiment.
The problem, then, is that there's so much to filter through that he nearly gets swept away.
Curtain Call, realizing that they can't handle this alone, Goes to Mitternacht, who is very VERY concerned about why there is now an additional God in the pantheon. She takes the initiative to anchor Thespius to Curtain; giving Thes the structure to hold against his domain. For a while, Curtain Call acts as Thespius' training wheels so to speak (the strings that help hold him up.)
This ends up working out much better than expected, since their two domains mesh very well. They become a solid pair as Thespius grows into his role, much in the same way Bau and Huzzle Mug balance each other out.

I’ve been wracking my brain for a while to try and make a Melee and/or Grapple Manticore build. Just standing directly next to things and being a menace. I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on something like this. Thanks for reading regardless if you respond to this one. Love reading your stuff.
Luckily for you, this concept did spark joy.
-- HORUS Manticore @ LL6 -- [ LICENSES ] IPS-N Blackbeard 2, HORUS Manticore 3, IPS-N Tortuga 1 [ CORE BONUSES ] Improved Armament, Titanomachy Mesh [ TALENTS ] Duelist 3, PANKRATI 2, Skirmisher 2, Brawler 1, Combined Arms 1 [ STATS ] HULL:4 AGI:2 SYS:0 ENGI:2 STRUCTURE:4 HP:19 ARMOR:2 STRESS:4 HEATCAP:9 REPAIR:5 TECH ATK:+1 LIMITED:+1 SPD:4 EVA:8 EDEF:10 SENSE:10 SAVE:13 [ WEAPONS ] FLEX MOUNT: Chain Axe FLEX MOUNT: Chain Axe HEAVY MOUNT: Nanocarbon Sword [ SYSTEMS ] Synthetic Muscle Netting, Lightning Generator, Beckoner, Siege Ram
I call this one YOUR PUTRID FLESH WITHERS UNDER THE UNBLINKING GAZE OF MY DIVINE CONTEMPT. We're making a Manticore build; this is not the place for subtle or pithy names.
This is a melee-only build, which I normally recommend against. I think it's good for a build to have at least some sort of ranged attack capability, but in this case, there's just no room for it. We're ride or die here, and diluting the build by hedging our bets is just going to tip the scales towards "die."
You are not particularly fast, so we've got the Pankrati valiant charge and Beckoner to help you close gaps. What you want to do at that point is slam in as fast as you can and try to connect with a Main melee attack (Duelist gives you an accuracy to help with that) - not your Heavy, one of your Mains. You then immediately use Duelist 3 to spend the Blademaster die you just earned to free-Grapple the target, and then you use Titanomachy Mesh to follow up the free-Grapple with a free-Ram (and because they're Grappled, Brawler 1 turns on, making your Ram more accurate, and because being Grappled causes them to become Immobilized, Pankrati 1 also turns on, making your Ram EVEN MORE ACCURATE). Knock your enemy Prone but do not knock them away.
To summarize: your target has taken Main Melee damage from you, become Grappled, then been rammed Prone. Because Grappled causes Immobilization, they cannot use their regular movement to stand up from Prone, and because of Synthetic Muscle Netting, unless they're larger than you, they cannot ever gain control of the grapple.
If they don't have weapons or abilities that knock you away, they have two real options to get away from you. The first is to spend a quick action trying to escape the grapple, which they can fail, wasting the action entirely. Even if they succeed, they still either need to crawl away provoking your Overwatch (use your Heavy for this) or use their entire regular movement to stand back up, then their other quick action to Boost away, again provoking your Overwatch.
The second, if they're the same size as you or larger, is to Ram you back. This is more effective, since your Evasion is low, and knocking you away will break the grapple. This still only leaves you one space away from them, which is still within Threat of your Nanocarbon Sword, and unless they have a modifier that deals damage on Ram (which, to my knowledge, no vanilla NPC does), they've spent 2/3rds of their turn just getting 1 space away from you and standing upright. If they decline to move away from you, you can just stand up on your turn and Skirmish 2 spaces towards them to do the whole thing all over again.
If they are a melee class, their best bet is to focus you down, but with 2 Armor and resistance to two types of damage, that's harder than it looks - and if they're focusing on you, they're not attacking your team's squishies, which is the whole point of the Defender class.
If they're a ranged class, they're fucked. With you up in their grill, their attacks against everyone including you become inaccurate. Artillery NPC classes don't tend to have much HP, and rely on staying far away from players. If a weapon has Ordnance, they can't even fire it at you at all if they're in engagement.
On your next turn, if your target is still grappled, activate your Lightning Generator, and then Barrage. Your attack sequence looks like this:
Chain Axe -> free Ram (Duelist 3), no knockback -> free Ram (Titanomachy Mesh), no knockback -> Nanocarbon Sword
Against unarmored targets, this has a damage floor of 9 assuming all attacks hit, and will slam for 5 even if all your attacks miss. Lightning Generator will do different amounts of damage depending on whether you're in the Danger Zone, but Charged Exoskeleton will always trigger off of Lightning Generator (if you choose) and will always deal 2 AP.
Note that if you're in control of the grapple (which, thanks to SMN, you usually are), you can still make your standard move. This means you can drag your victim 4 spaces towards or away from your friends.
When you turn on your ult, enemies have an even more miserable time, because now not only are there two forms of damage you're resistant to, you're also resistant to Heat (which means you can Overcharge for half price). Worse, any Heat or Energy damage you take now increases a doomsday clock.
Be warned that this build only has 19 HP, and even with 2 Armor you're not going to last forever, but on the other hand, enemies must focus on you or you'll just be able to tear them apart one by one.

Spoilers for both AITSF and AINI below:
With "No Sleep for Kaname Date" being announced I hope they actually give good development for Iris and not just fanservice fanservice fanservice - *sees Iris in a bunny costume* - ok so can they give Iris good development while in the bunny costume too or is it one or the other...?
I am one of the many people that really was not a huge fan of AINI, with its overall plot and how it sidelined so many main characters and their mother (literally, where is Mayumi!?) to focus on new characters. While the development of these new characters was interesting, it did not mesh well at all with what was established by the first game, and the plot twist was so loosely held together that it kind of made me lose my engagement in the game. Of course the "breaking" of the game was part of the plot, but it had the same energy of the Danganronpa v3 twist that sort of ruined the overarching plot of the series. With this game being more of a spin-off rather than a main game, I am very hesitant with getting my hopes up. AINI already butchered so much of Iris and made her a meme character where she was one of the most important characters in the first game, and in doing so greatly weakened the relationship that she had with other characters, namely Amame and Mizuki. I really just hope that this game deepens her character more and does not just further reduce her to young but legal character they can sexualize who makes references the gamers like.
Personally, I'd love to see:
Actual reference to the first game and no stupid spoiler toggle (but given Date's appearance I doubt it)
Possible reference to the Twitter ARG where Iris literally (spoiler that everyone knows basically) freaking dies
Siren Song. Please. Hate how Iris "went to get milk" for like all of AINI where her girlfriend was going through the horrors with a kind guy that they stupidly wrote to have a crush on her. They did Genny dirty he was cool and then they just had to be weird with him.
If they really wanna commit to the whole timeline crossing or whatever then I'd love for us to get B-Set. This was my overall hope for Ai3 in that B-Set would be the killer, but I guess if we can get her in this game then I would be somewhat satisfied.
Can we get her Ai1 model back I hate the stupid AINI model and how it just completely changed her facial structure. Her dark pink hair and younger face were so ridiculously cute, I don't know why they changed hers (and Amame's)
Can we get Amame development. The second game really made her such a significant character out of nowhere and if this game is supposed to take place between the two then they really need to give us more on screen development between the two
I hope they don't go too into occult and aliens because it is just infinitely funnier for this to be stuff that is all in Iris's head and not actually real. Of course in the first game it is explained that this is partially due to her brain tumor (and special interest lollll) and then it's just not addressed in the second for some bizarre reason. If they make aliens and stuff canon then it makes the second game even stupider if it takes place after this new one.

hello guys! this will be an unusual post, as I don't share much about my personal life here. earlier this month, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I'll spare the details, but I'm only 26 and this was as out of the blue as it could have possibly been. so please, listen to your bodies and take care of your health, whatever your sex, age, etc etc. to those who happen to deal with similar things - I wish you strength. I am not writing this to ask for financial or emotional support, I've got both covered (surprise, it still sucks! but anyway). I'm also not on hiatus, technically, but I'm continuing my studies and doing a lil bit of work for the university. basically, this can prove too much at any moment. I can't predict my own power levels, and I am still learning to manage this new life. I get moodswings and tire easily, so one day I'll be having a blast meshing while watching some series and the next I feel like it is the worst chore. maybe it'll get better. maybe it'll get worse. I'll try to balance it and deal with any possible requests as they come. the priority for me right now is porting my Ancient Roman stuff to ts4; if I can do it, I'll pick up the new requests. sorry, this is just how my mind works, I like to do things in order; it is also easier than making a whole ass mesh from scratch. overall, I feel sad, because I was looking forward to combining the less structured nature of the PhD studies with creating CC more regularly, and here we are. but yeah. I like the sims and I'm glad to be a part of this community.

The Pathologic Russian and English analysis: Clara Saburova the Changeling.
Time is a flat circle, similar to a frisbee, and the world is using it to wack me repeatedly on the head with it. So anyway, I finally got my shit together and made another addition to this madness project. This time including images of both English and Russian text. Let us begin
It’s a bit… difficult to pin down what kind of person Clara is in the English translation - partially because you don’t always know for sure which Clara you’re talking to, as well as the fact that she is, most of the time, an obstacle. She seems to shift between “mean child who’s acting like she hasn’t learned about empathy yet”, “kind earnest and trying her best”, and “ominously inhuman and deceiving”. This is, obviously, because of Clara’s main schtick - the fact that there’s two of them (and also because she knows a lot more than the two other healers). Most of the time, however, she comes across as someone with either good or dubious intentions. It’s like she’s trying to help (or acting like she’s trying to help), but things keep going horribly wrong. Since we’re not playing as her, we don’t get nearly as much insight into how frightened she is and how shaky and unstable her current situation is, so she is judged by both of the healers in a very harsh way. She seems a bit verbose for a kid/teenager, however that is nothing out of the ordinary in the town on Gorkhon. Her lines, a lot of the time are either indirect or very direct jabs, so there is an impression that she thinks she is smarter than the other two and is quite fed up with them. It’s difficult to say much else about it without getting into specifics, so here we go.
As the bachelor: Clara only gets interactions on days 3, 6, 11, and 12. You might think that that would make it difficult to write about her, but wow did they put so much stuff in the very few conversations she gets to have with Daniil. There is a level of consistency between how she speaks in English and Russian here, though she seems a bit more earnest in this campaign. Like she’s trying to help, but she also thinks that Dankovsky is unable to receive the help she’s trying to give. Or unwilling. Mainly, however, in Russian there is a very weird quality to her way of speaking that I’m not quite sure carries over well to English. See, (and this is where it gets the tiniest bit anecdotal) I’ve had my fair share of hearing religious talk in Russian (but not in English, which is why I’m not sure if this is even a valid point) - I’ve been to orthodox churches, and in general Christianity is very largely propagated in the part of Russia I grew up in. So I, like presumably many others, am familiar with the very distinct way that religious figures speak. It sounds ancient, but not the same “fairy tale” ancient that I talked about before. Instead of changing the sentence structure, they utilise more biblical words in places where any other person would use regular modern words. Best way I can explain it is how someone might say “t’is” instead of “it is” but like… Religious? “For” instead of “because.” And that is the tone that Clara takes on sometimes. It meshes really well with her “divine messenger” persona, even though she still acts like a child every now and then. It’s a very unique combination that gives her way of speaking a distinct sound that exists outside of time. Overall, however, the translation was pretty close to the original Russian version, so let’s look at where these two diverge.
What’s a little weird to me here is that umm… This is the conversation Daniil has with Clara on day 3 about the Taglur and when I read this in English I was a little confused, because it sounds like the Bachelor is asking a question about Clara’s plans for making a new world or whatevsies, but… This dialogue option is one of those that immediately ends the conversation, which didn’t make sense to me at all. In Russian it’s a bit more akin to “And who’s bright idea was it to place this miracle here?” (or literally “to whose head did the idea to place this miracle here come?” A bit more confusing, but yeah) See, the word here for “miracle” is “чудо” (pronounced smth like “choodo”), which can mean miracle or wonder, but can also be a shorthand for “чудище” or “чудовище” which is a word used to describe monsters. You know. Wonder-creatures. In this context, the word “чудо” when aimed towards a person (Clara) is meant to signify someone either ugly, eccentric or nonsensical. So to sum up, the best way to understand this line is “Who’s bright idea was it to bring this weirdo here?” in which case… Yeah, I can definitely see why that would end the dialogue.
Here’s a fun little thing: I’ve mentioned before how the Haruspex defines Clara in very vague terms. Here, when the Changeling (the real one, guys, trust me) is asking the Bachelor to deal with the Changeling pretending to be her(yeah, go figure), in English she calls her a “loathsome creature”. However, in Russian she calls her (according to Google translate) an “abomination”, “filth” or (in my own translation) “grossness”, which - you guessed it - is indeed a very vague term. Regardless of who you think is talking to the Bachelor at the moment, it’s still very interesting to see, for various reasons. She also does this later in the dialogue (and the English translation ignores it again)
More out of the same dialogue tree where the Bachelor is trying to get Clara’s blood. I’ve made a point in the analysis of the Bachelor from the Changeling’s perspective, where he calls her “darling” where the original was something like “sweet/dear creature” and almost had a sombre mood to it. In this one, however, it is the complete opposite. Not only does the word he uses here actually translate the best to “darling” (or dove), but it also has the same kind of ironic connotation to it as I mentioned. In this particular scenario he almost sounds… Thuggish? The words he uses, as well as the use of the “-ка” sounds similar to the snarky, confrontational way that thugs and bandits speak in cartoons. Something like “c’mere, dear” that makes it clear you’re about to get beaten up.
Two things here: firstly, in this dialogue line Clara refers to Daniil using the informal version of “you”, while the lines said by the Changeling whose blood he doesn’t get uses the formal version. In the interaction on day 3 Clara doesn’t address him directly at all, but I think in other dialogues she also addresses him informally (It isn’t surprising to see Clara address Daniil of all people informally, because not only does she see herself as, at least in part, a tool of divine whatevertheheck, she also rightfully believes that he is an idiot. She does not need to be polite to the stupidest man this side of the Gorkhon (I say this lovingly, of course).
Secondly though, I’d like to point out the way Daniil talks to her in here, because when I did my analysis of his lines I talked about how the English translation dials down the intensity of the stuff he says. This here is a prime example, as the Russian version is not only more curt, but also uses a much more cutting insult. Of course, people are well aware of the Russian language’s rich curse word vocabulary, but it also has the wonderful capability of making non-curse words sound like the most humiliating thing ever. I think maybe it’s the way Russian combines rolled “r”s and multiple consonants (which is less prominent in English) that allows its words to have that added weight to it. Here he calls her essentially “trash”, specifically - something that’s been so torn up and worn out that it's become useless. The way the word rolls off the tongue when you say it out loud is almost like a spit in the face, and it’s not softened by calling her “little” or anything. He calls her trash. How dare.
I’m bringing this up because it has me genuinely confused? The English version makes sense, or so I thought until I read the Russian version? Because the Russian version kinda states the opposite. It says “You can’t come up with a better knife for this than a conversation - of course, only if you’re in a hurry.” Which is very different from “unless you’re in a hurry” because those meanings are like… The opposite? The English implying that a conversation is a good way to see what’s going on in her soul, but the Russian one alluding to the fact that it’s only good if you’re in a hurry? Or is she agreeing to give her blood because they don’t have time for a conversation? I don’t know. I’m confused. Help.
I think the metanarratives of pathologic are very cool, so when I read this line in English I got really excited, because I thought it might be implying that Clara is aware of the fact that the player may have died a few times during the bachelor route alone (similar to how she calls the other healers her past or future). Then I realised that it simply could’ve meant “dying” as in being close to death. Then I got excited again, because I thought the Russian version might elucidate the issue for me. And… I think I was right? I think she implies here that Daniil has died several times, although it was probably just left vague for this specific purpose. Either way, the fact that it can be read this way and was probably worded like this just to confuse the players (and reward those who may have been on the lookout for it) is really cool to me. Also in response to that (where in English Daniil says Clara has “a shrewd eye for human condition”) he calls her a psychologist, and then brushes her off as trying to charm him, which means we don’t get to gauge the meaning of what she was saying through his response either.
This one has a couple of fun differences. Firstly, instead of referring to the town in its “true form” Clara refers to saving it “the way that the town turned out.” This, to me, is a slight difference that paints the contradictory nature of the town in a different light. The English version claiming that it’s the town’s “true” form almost makes it seem like a design from an outside force, both bringing up vibes of intelligent design and the fact that the town was made this exact way by the children. The Russian version’s implication that the town “turned out” this way has a more “nature is a chaotic force with no purpose” vibe to it, that would more suit a person unaware of the whole “we’re dolls for a children’s game inside of a video game” thing. Maybe I’ve just gotten used to being picky about the tiniest word choices because of my studies, but I feel like this difference changes the overall vibe. Like painting with the same colour but using a different brush.
Secondly, in Russian Clara calls Aglaya’s mission “simply a performance for fools” which to me is a wonderful choice of words, given all the theatre themes included in the gameplay.
I’ve kind of set a precedent where I make all of these “translation differences” have some sort of significant meaning for the narrative, but I just think this one is genuinely cool? It’s a bit of a “same colour, different brush” situation, where the sentiment is the same, but the word choice carries a different vibe. Focusing on the last sentence here, the Changeling specifically says “You were supposed to bribe him with your honesty” instead of “get at him”. And I just think that’s neat, because like. I always thought of “getting at someone” as like… An attack or provocation? But “bribing” someone has a bit more of that slimy vibe, which clashes with “honesty” so well, and… I guess it’d technically be an oxymoron.
During the conversation in regards to Clara acknowledging Maria as a mistress, in the Russian version she frequently switches between formal and informal “yous” when talking to the Bachelor. However, as it becomes clear here, this is an instance in which instead of a sign of respect, it seems that she is referring to several people at the same time. Namely, that she is directing her words both at Daniil and Artemy. During the Bachelor’s campaign she seems to think that the Haruspex is a lost cause and they seemingly don’t interact (and she even believes that he is dead during this day), so I doubt she actually ever spoke to him about this. It’s interesting then that she still tries to convince the Bachelor, even though she often calls him a fool. Makes you wonder what the differences are between this scenario and the Changeling campaign (in which she can invite Artemy to the Cathedral on the final day fully knowing that he chooses to stay oblivious).
Here’s some silly Clara on day 12 (right after giving a whole speech about the Polyhedron) and I just wanted to point out this very fun change. Instead of saying “pretty face” she instead says “мордашка” (pronounced “mordashka”) which is a diminutive of “морда” (“morda) which is usually the word people use to refer to an animal’s face. Except it can also be used to refer to a person’s face if you’re calling them ugly. The addition of the diminutive adds a little mischievous tone to it, which turns it from ugly into a “cute” kind of thing. Like… Derpy, I guess. Anyways, I think it’s absolutely hilarious that Clara says that while also talking about the eldritch concept of being a multitude of people, or perhaps just one person controlled by the will of different people at different times (which they all are, by the way).
Big difference here that I found absolutely odd as in why they cut it out of the English version? This is from the “did you know we are toys?” dialogue tree and if you look carefully, you’ll see that there’s a bit here in Russian that for some reason wasn’t included in the English version. The last sentence after Clara says that she has an advantage. She adds “and I intend to use it.” Which like… I feel to someone who hasn’t played patho before would sound antagonistic, but to those who know - this is a direct indication to how it feels like playing as Clara in the campaign. You know a lot more about the game and the characters from other campaigns. And you already know that the kids are there and that they are toys. While playing you use all this knowledge to your advantage to play the game better. So yeah, don’t know why they cut that out of the translation.
Alright, I think that’s about all I’ve got for Clara’s role in the Bachelor’s campaign. I’d say the biggest differences that I notice is, of course, the biblical language (which I didn’t get good examples of unfortunately, but the whole “your eyes are white for you are blind” is a good example) and the subtle ways in which the words Clara uses hint to her knowledge of what is going on. As always, it’s something that’s also present in the English version, but there are also things that are characteristic to the Russian language that allow her to break the fourth wall. Like, with the change to a formal “you” we can get a bit more clarity on whether the Clara we’re talking to is real or not. With the specific verbs she uses we can almost see the outline of a false bottom to everything she says and I think that’s really cool. Outside of the translations, I think it is genuinely fascinating to get a better glimpse into Clara’s story during the Bachelor campaign - I feel like if we got more of her, it would give the whole game away. In what she says already, talking about the wills behind her, behind the Bachelor (although she does count Artemy as part of the “special toys” camp, she always says it with such disappointment. Cuz she compares herself to him, but is also frustrated that he refuses to get it) she alludes to being aware of not only the stagehands, but also the player and the power that they have. It’s also really cool because you can almost compare her to Aglaya, what with all the knowledge, sacrifice, and being doomed by the narrative. Except Clara’s approach is entirely different, although it’s difficult to glimpse through her frequently changing attitude. They both know “the Law”, both talk about how miracles should not be captured - except Aglaya seeks to undo what has been done, while Clara wants to forge ahead, accept the changes as part of the world. They both seek to fix what’s wrong, but what to them is considered “fixing” is so directly opposed that they have to destroy each other. I don’t know. I just think that both of them are really cool characters that totally don’t make me wanna scream, cry, and throw up, and you know… They deserve just as much love and obsessive analysis as the men in the story (speaking of which, in one of the dialogue trees where Clara talks about Block essentially becoming a crusader she can also admit that she knows it’s not true and that he’s also doomed, but she feels so bad about it that she pretends that he isn’t. And who knows, with a miracle worker like her it might just become the truth).
Also I'm thinking of maybe at one point or another making a name pronunciation, meaning, nickname, and literary references guide? Idk, sounds like it'd be fun.
I feel like a weird little bog creature whenever I emerge with one of these. Have fun and remember to engage your critical thinking skills, fact check, and let the media you encounter change you (be it through vulnerability or empowerment) instead of just being fodder for your consumption.

miss sour yoghurt ur wardrobe is so important to me like u are serving in all of your video essays…please share where you shop
Demise video - Purple velvet bell sleeve top was from Etsy with a basic black lace tank top underneath. Bell bottom jeans were thrifted but from Target's Wild Fable line. Belt was a plain men's black leather belt from Goodwill. Velvet choker and tiny silver necklace with moons/stars were both from Amazon, then the pendant is vivienne westwood, it's the classic diamante design in purple. Black lace gloves are from Amazon and earrings are from Etsy.
MCR - Ouija MCR shirt was from the hot topic at the mall, earrings were bought at Romwe years ago, locket was from TikTok shop, same choker/silver necklace as before, mesh top was from Amazon, then i have a plain basic long black skirt on.
Brent wilson - T-shirt was from shoptokkistar, black cargo pants were from Ragstock, same belt and most accessories as before but the vivienne westwood necklace in this is the astrid design and then I have a bunch of charm bracelets on that are either old, thrifted, or from Etsy.
Pending SWMRS video is a thrifted pink crushed velvet top that i believe is vintage forever 21, a plain black skirt, and the tiktok shop locket. if i were to wear shoes on camera theyd be demonia camel 203s or black doc martens.
Most recent selfie was a doll's kill dress, it was F is for Fairies in purple. sorry I'm problematic but honest ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . honestly their stuff is cut and sized extremely strangely so im not sure i would recommend it.
I honestly spend a lot of time thinking about fashion and shopping and cultivating my #look or whatever and i take notes on other people or movies or shows or whatever and use that to structure what pieces i plan to buy and i often spend a lot of time looking online at inspiration and for new items. IMO if you care about this sort of thing it's good to have an idea of what cuts, colors, and styles are flattering on you as well. dont be afraid to purge your wardrobe or put things in storage so they arent distracting. Amazon, thrift, and Target (and to a lesser extent Ragstock) are good for basics, Romwe and Ragstock are good for trendy pieces, and Etsy is good for vintage or unique items but there are a lot of dropshippers on there. Ebay Japan is good for fake designer and often the fake designs are (imo) better than the actual ones. Shopgoodwillonline is the best place for quality discount jewelry but you kind of have to get in the habit of checking regularly and be patient.
I often will see something in a movie or show or on social media (for example, a handkerchief hem skirt or a plaid maxi skirt) and then try to find a version of it in a style that's more me and fits my wardrobe (as a dress and in purple, or in black and white instead of navy) and see if I can find it.
Or like my fave charm bracelet I thrifted broke and I wanted to replace it with something quality so I thought about what I liked and after looking for a couple hours found a vintage silver one with hearts, stars, and moons that I liked even more.
Usually this takes me to resellers like depop, mercari, ebay and poshmark. They do come with risks though lol. Google Lens is really helpful for finding pieces because even if you can't get the exact item you can get something close and you can reverse search listings that have been sold or aren't your size. It's also good to think about what you already own that you can wear a piece with before you buy. Yeah that's my advice lol

Perthehaps.... 3,8 and 14 Wesley?
Thanks for the ask!!! :D (for this ask game!)
Oh Wesley, my prickly bookworm <3
3. Who does your mc not get along with? Why?
Wesley does not like Stella. She's just way too much for him and he doesn't really mesh well with people like that. He doesn't hate her by any means, he even starts to want to try to be on better terms with her, (and everyone really. It's a part of his little character arc where he realizes that "hey, maybe the way that I treat people isn't the greatest and I should actually give people a chance instead of just assuming that they already don't like me and treating them like they do hate me.") but she's not his first pick in terms of company.
He also doesn't care for Sybil. He didn't go to see her with Stella on Monday so he was very confused when this strange woman on the street started telling him about portents of doom and incoming disasters, it all sounded like a load of nonsense to him. And then all of the weird stuff he noticed with Kaneeka and the fact that it was her who encouraged Joan to start poisoning Reese (and Joan's whole "Don trust her, she's a snake" thing)...yeah it doesn't paint the prettiest picture in his mind, so he'd rather keep her at arms length.
8. Why did they decide to come to the funeral?
I don't think that he'd ever admit this, but (deep down) Wesley was so glad when Tabitha reached out to him. See, he lives a very monotonous life and while he does enjoy structure, he has been beginning to grow tired of it all. He's stressed out and kind of hates everything about his life. He hates where he lives, he hates his loud roommates who don't ever seem to listen to him when he tells them he needs to be able to focus, and he's just trying to push through it all and work off his law school debt.
When Tabitha told him about the funeral, he thought that it would be a nice break from it all.
14. Is your mc good with people?
Oh god no. He's awful at social interaction in basically all forms and has a hard time forming (and maintaining) relationships with people.
Wesley is very blunt and doesn't sugarcoat anything that he says. This naturally leads to a lot of social faux pas and him accidentally saying things that come off as rude and adversarial (even in the cases where he's not trying to be). His social battery is perpetually burnt out and he doesn't have a lot of patience for dealing with people who are extremely loud and outgoing.
He's good at carrying himself in conversation when it involves work/planning/research and anything that he's personally interested in (which is generally just books and anything that he's currently researching) but he's completely lost when it comes to casual conversation, he just doesn't know what to say to people. Like, he can identify when something is wrong with someone and that something is bugging them, but he is awful at actually giving comfort to people.
When Wesley can get along with people, it's usually those who are similar to him in some way. Whether it be that they have the same hobbies or the same general unsociability or some other thing.
And as stated above, Wesley assumes that the majority of people in scarlet hollow already don't like him, and seeing people's general reactions upon him arriving in scarlet hollow for the first time doesn't help in breaking that view. He thinks "hey, the majority of these people don't like me. I'm literally just going to be here for a week and then I'm going back to Portland and I'll never see any of these people again, there's no point in bending over backwards trying to get them to like me."

Face Swapping
...Is a thing that you can do with the model viewer, and oh boy, we have some funny finds here with the royal fam!
Leonidas:
I honestly have no clue what they did with his Gala model, but it does not seem to mesh well with anyone else's face, either for when he's wearing others' or giving his to them.
We're talking this level of dysfunction:
His summer version finally provides me a way to actually compare, and of the fam, Emile and Phares overall mesh the best with him, but it's still... not great.
Phares:
...Wears Leonidas' overall face structure a bit too well and looks very homicidal while doing so!
Honestly, he wears a disturbing amount of faces 'well', even if it gives him some different vibes...
Chelle:
Overall, a pretty decent fit for some, including Phares and Emile, but her overall best fits to me are Euden and Zethia:
Valyx:
A tragedy. Due to entirely foreseeable reasons, Valyx sticks out like a sore thumb no matter what you're trying to do with him.
Save him.
Before it's too late.
(Even aside from his vastly different skin color making everything look so jarring, his face structure also ruins what might look as a decent fit if viewed from the side!)
Emile:
"I can be your angel or your nightmare"
All this is to say is that he wears a lot of faces pretty well. Phares, Leonidas, even Chelle, though he more looks like a sort of always-cheerful schoolgirl NPC on the sidelines helping the protagonist in that case...
...Euden (or at least G! and his base) is not among those he wears well, which is a bit funny for how at odds the two are in demeanor.
Speaking of...
Euden is doubly ironic for how poorly he wears most of the family's faces. Part of it again seems to be a Leonidas problem with how it's structured in his base and Gala forms.
Of his earlier alts, Zethia and (even more funny) Alberius overall fit a little bit better.
In his later alts, though, he gains a lot more of the fam as good fits, with Phares and Nedrick particularly good in my book, though in the latter I would joke that this is from a world where he's more open to making fun of people and decided to go full ham on imitating Nedrick's grumpiness to poke at him.
Well, either that or Nedrick pulling a 'Euden died and now I need to pretend to be him so his stupid sycophant soldiers don't start running around like headless chicken when we're going up against the Progenitor. I hate every millisecond of this for thousands of reasons.'
All in all, I'm surprised at how well and how many can comfortably trade faces, even if it gives them some very different impressions as characters. They definitely seemed to standardize the faces a bit more as time went on, since later alts are much better at being able to handle others' faces better.
As a last note, Audric is also a pretty glaring fit, as he's actually notably more tan than most all his children. This makes the face-swap very very obvious at the sides of their chin. There's been some that have been visible here, but they were a lot more subtle than stuff like this:
Ironically, this could be used as a way to compare their exact skin tones if anyone is interested, and while I'm not one-by-one going through all alts vs. each other, some particular standouts for most seemingly pale go to Bondforged Euden (who gets a bit paler for each alt, yes, including summer, someone get this boy some iron or something, he's probably losing too much throwing himself in front of attacks), Phares, and Emile. Then, of course, on the opposite side we've Valyx, Aurelius/Audric, and then maaaaaybe a vague toss-up between Summer Leo and Chelle, but that's a pretty big gap between the ones ahead of them and a small one for the rest of the fam.
But yeah, I invite people to this wonky activity because boy is it funny!
#dragalia lost#dragalia#dragalia silliness#Honestly with Leonidas' default expression if any of them were in a bodyswap he'd be instantly found out.#He's always watching. Intensely(tm).#Honestly I headcannon it as a thing that can sometimes pop up with dragonblood#Since it does look a bit like a snake or feline - easy enough to transpose it to a dragon -> dragonblood thing#The humanoid dragons also generally seem to have thinner/sharper pupils so it could check out?
