I found them as I was scrolling through my art to see how much I've progressed and I realized this is probably my fav style so far. Should I try and keep this as my own art style?

It probably varies from colony to colony, but in valentine's children are raised by the whole colony, but tend to live with a set of parents (sometimes two but polygamy is common) that are either their birth parents or adopted parents. Adoption can be very casual, and often if a hatchlings parents feel unprepared they can give the child to another family, or even co raise them with others.

Twins and triplets are more common than in humans but single children are fairly common as well. Feather color is inherited but genetic variations and inconsistencies can occur and often provide an easy placeholder name for a child. Differences are always celebrated, and mocking anothers feathers is almost a banishable offense.

Avians can 'dye' their feathers with chalk if they so desire, elytrians have to use ink because chalk doesn't stick on their feathers. Color and style of chalked feathers can have significance, like tattoos that have to be replenished. Traditional tattoos are less common as they can't be applied to wings.
