Buggy wasn't sure what woke him up at first. The ship groaned, he could hear the murmur of the night crew as they kept watch, and his wife sighed in her sleep beside him, but when he heard the unmistakable cry of a newborn, he narrowed down the reason he was awake and staring at the ceiling.

Gold was just a month old now. Buggy still couldn't believe he was a father, that he had a son and his wife was with him. He still couldn't believe they were together after how they both were towards each other when Sunny was asking him to be a father and he was turning down her wishes.

He knew he could just float body parts over to the bassinet to check on the baby, the perks of being a Chop Chop man, but he didn't want to be that lazy when his wife was doing so much with the baby during the day.

Buggy got himself out of bed, yawning loudly as he staggered over to the wailing baby. He picked his son up, cradling him to his chest as he checked the baby for a diaper change. He could hear his wife stirring in bed. The least Buggy could do was change Gold. His wife did so much.

He glanced over at the bed. Sunny had shifted and was on Buggy's side now, still asleep, which was fine, she needed it. He made quick work of changing the baby, not wanting to be awake any longer, and when he looked back at his wife he saw her awake, watching him with a sleepy smile.

It made waking up in the middle of the night worth it.
