Which origin of Doomsday is your favorite and what do you think about 52 Superdoom?
I actually don't like Doomsday as a character. I think he's fine but way too overused and overrated. He's just a plot device of "he's there to kill superman and he's unstoppable". I'm sorry for any Doomsday fan out there.
As for 52 Superdooms? I'm conflicted over it for the same reasons. It's fine. But not noteworthy.

It always surprised me that Earth 45 in its first appearance and every reappearance never went more into detail on the different aspects of Superdoom's corporate influence. For example is there a Krypto the Super Mouse as a pastiche of Micky Mouse who ended up with their own theme park after they took over Dazzleland as a pastiche of Disneyland. Theme parks, movie universes and of course many more things that both Warner Brothers and Disney have come to represent.

Earth-45: A world of massive corporate power. On this Earth, Clark Kent returned from a trip to Tibet with a few ideas he worked out with his friends, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. The three were able to create a machine to bring ideas to life, but when their budget ran out they looked for corporate backing. Unfortunately they had to sign over control of the machine to Overcorp, who used it to create a living embodiment of their corporate creed, the horror known as Superdoom.
#earth 45#active heroes:#superman#batman#At some point in time the Joker killed Batman so having no one else to rebel against he abandoned his crime lifestyle#and became a family friendly figure even creating his own city Jokerville#<<in case that's a selling point for you#dc multiverse#dc comics#dc multiverse week

Oi, Murie, you talk about gambling so you know a lot about cats games, but I'm more interested in: what are/we're Alternian board games like? Do you guys have mancala? Shogi? Billiards?
bodnik was constantly forcing us to play shit like "superdoom starconquest: empress vs pitiful wormish rustblood" which fucking sucked
then there was flarp, hard to forget flarp being a thing
#we mostly just stole other peoples flarp loot instead of playing the game itself#way more efficient

Comics I Read Today
August 27

Superman/Wonder Woman Annual #1 (2014, DC)
The Braniac invasion fleet has reached Earth and Superman can’t do much to help. He’s infected by a Doomsday virus and can’t re-enter Earth’s atmosphere because it’s saturated with Kryptonite. It’s up to Wonder Woman and the JLA to save the planet.
This is an exciting story with amazing art! I really enjoyed Superdoom and how the heroes beat back the invaders.
My Rating: 8

Incredible Hulk #70 (2004, Marvel)
Bruce Banner is on the run from the police, clandestine forces and the unbridled beast within himself, the Hulk. He stumbles into the town of Simerty and meets a stranger who knows more about him than most people. Then things get strange.
There’s not really much Hulk in this issue but it’s an excellent and moody story, nonetheless. Mike Deodato Jr. does an amazing job on the art. He’s come a long way in his artistry. I have a post in the queue with a much younger Deodato and this is a great improvement.
My Rating: 8
