Columbo: The Most Dangerous Match (1973)

(WARNING: Some flashing lights in the fantasy and dream scenes.)

The Most Dangerous Match is a solid episode that plays with the series' structure in interesting ways. The story builds some tense set pieces while featuring an effectively structured mystery. The eventual solution is clever and the clues are shown in organic ways while not being too obvious. Columbo remains interesting and his dog is given some nice moments while the new characters have distinct personalities. Peter Falk is in top form where while Laurence Harvey shows the killer's precision and paranoia in striking ways. Jack Kruschen makes a strong impression with limited screen time and the supportingcast has some nice turns from Heidi Brühl, Michael Fox, and an especially over-the-top Lloyd Bochner. The direction keeps the central mystery exciting while giving the story some levity. The episode has some clever compositions that put the audience in the characters' heads, with some dream scenes being the most distinct in the series so far. This is an enjoyable episode that lets the series go into new directions.

Review of “Flock” (The Ravenhood) by Kate Stewart

The modern-day romance / romantic suspense is FLOCK Book, and it will absolutely be here!! The book follows The Ravenhood, a club of sorts (you’ll very quickly see how much more there is to it) through Adrienne Perdu into love & friendship & finding oneself amongst the vast influences that have their own games they are playing.

Plot Overview Of Flock

Shepherd, an independent female lead becomes embroiled in the world of Ravenhood. Not until she meets Talon, the enigmatic high council Maskan…one of those sexy creatures never before seen by mortals and known only in fables. As they reach their burning point, Shepherd is caught up in a whirlwind of violence and desire that threatens to engulf her. Compromise Charade(dark psychological suspense)The question burnt into her consciousness.

Shepherd continues to sweat without knowing what is this about the Ravenhood and what secrets they are hiding. The story progresses through several twists and turns in a powerful climax that tests the concept of love & faith for the shepherd. Read more...

Thoughts on audiobooks https://seths.blog/2024/10/thoughts-on-audiobooks/ I’m listening more than reading these days, and I find that a good audiobook can make a real impact on the way I absorb and learn from a book. It’s a once in a century sort of shift in this medium. My new book is now available in audio. It’s not on Audible, at least not now. Audible has exploited their dominant position and the offer they make to authors is unfair and almost untenable. I’m not sure their monopoly is as secure as they hope though–all of us have a podcast app on our phones, and services like SupportingCast now deliver books seamlessly to a podcast app–at the same time they bring authors closer to listeners. SupportingCast makes it easy for audiobook creators to produce updates and reach the audience after the book is published–something that’s impossible with a print book, and forbidden by Amazon/Audible. I think we’re about a year away from the majority of audiobooks being narrated by AI. One more upgrade in quality and they’ll deliver a better, cheaper alternative than all but the most skilled narrators. Reading the new book cost me my voice for more than a month, but I wasn’t happy with the AI version of me, so here I am. With each section, I asked myself, “Am I doing the reader a service?” Just as typography took over from calligraphy, I think it’s likely that the answer one day soon will be, “actually, the AI can do this with more clarity.” But as long as I had the mic, I was eager to do the best I could. As always, AI replaces mediocre work long before it provides a realistic or better alternative to the nuance, passion and insight that a human brings. But the arc here is clear. like. i pay for way more ad-free podcast feeds than i do indie streaming services. and those feeds cost an amount about on par with streaming! sometimes more!! but i do it because it doesn't matter if i'm paying through patreon, or supportingcasts, or memberful. all those feeds just get added to podcast republic, the same place i get every other podcast. and the app settings are all exactly how i want them, all the new episodes get added to my smart playlist in the exact order i want, i can download them to enjoy without buffering on shitty internet, and i never have to remember to open another fucking app with a weird layout to get my money's worth

why is it that paywalled audio podcasts that charge $10 a month trust their listeners, but the instant you introduce video suddenly downloads are verboten Because Piracy

the more i think about it the madder i get about how many problems it would solve for me if every indie streaming service offered a password-protected video podcast option. no more using a bunch of different apps, no more switching around to check what updated. just whatever podcast app i like best with a bunch of different feeds plugged into it sending all the new episodes to the same playlist. which fork in the timeline stole this from me.

3 of my favorite supporting cast from Daria

The supporting cast of Daria was quite expansive, with many classmates of Quin and Daria and many teachers as well. Choosing only three out of the many supporting cast is definitely going to be difficult. The following characters are excluded from making this list due to having more time in the spot light then the ones on this list. The list includes: Daria, Jane, Quin, Trent, Tom, Helen , Jake, Britney,  Kevin, Mr. O'Neil, Mr.Demartiono, Stacy, Jodie, and Mac. These are all great characters but they’ve definitely had more development and time dedicated to them in the show. Now! lets get to the list, my three favorite supporting cast characters.

1) Tiffany Blum-Deckler

Tiffany is a member of the Lawndale Fashion club. Her character is pretty much summed up into three gags, the way that she speaks with a drawn out valley girl accent, her clueless moronic nature and her narcissistic personality. Tiffany can pretty much turn any conversation into a conversation about her. While her character really lacks any development she still is incredibly funny. Tiffany’s is the embodiment of teenagers who think that the world absolutely revolves around them.

2) Penny Lane

Penny Lane is one of the Lane children, it was really hard to limit my lists to one of these guys. It was a real toss up between Wind, Penny, and Summer. Anyways~, Penny Lane lives in Latin America doing ... well she sells native made goods that she believes will save the third world economy? Penny is pretty self serving and doesn’t seem to care much about the needs or feelings of other people. Still, she is really hilarious even If she only gets one appearance in the show.

3) Jamie

Incase you aren't aware Jamie is the blonde one with slicked back hair. Jamie is definitely my favorite out of the three of Quinn’s admirers. This poor guy is never called by the right name, which I can totally relate to! It’s Ash not Ashley! >:( ...anyways My favorite scene with Jamie has to be when Mr. Dimartino does call him Jamie in order to beat him at a jousting tournament. The poor guy is so over whelmed with joy that he gets absolutely pummeled by Mr. Dimartino .

Inhalt:

Die Gang des Masterplaners führen weiter ihre Verbrechen durch. Spidey versucht sie zu stoppen doch erneut schaffen sie es zu ihrer Unterwasserbasis zu fliehen.

Privat bereitet Peter alles an der Uni vor und kommt erschöpft nach Hause. Dort sieht er wie Tante May zusammenbricht. Ihr Hausarzt schickt sie ins Krankenhaus.

An der Uni will Flash Peter seine Kommilitonen Gwen und Harry vorstellten. Doch er ist so um May besorgt das er sie ignoriert denken sie das er arrogant ist. Besonders an Gwens Ego liedert darunter. Sie wollen ihn einen streich spielen dich auch das nimmt Peter kaum war.

Im Krankenhaus erfährt Peter das sie noch nicht wissen was May fehlt.

Währenddessen setzt Jonah Foswell auf den Masterplaner an und Betty will Ned noch keine Antwort geben.

Als Patch findet Foswell Herr als das die Gang was plant und gibt Spidey einem Tipp und er kann den nächsten Cou verhindern obwohl die Verbrecher wie de fliehen können. Der geheimsvolle Masterplaner schwört diesmal nicht gegen Spider-Man zu verlieren.

Die Ärzte unterdessen finden das Ergebnis. Tante May liegt in Sterben.

Fazit:

Erster Auftritt von Gwen und Harry wenn auch noch unsympathisch dargestellt. Nach Stan versuchten viele Autoren neuen Supportingcast einzuführen aber niemand kam je an den Erfolg der Zwei MitStudenten ran
