he can’t defend himself, not really, and she is smart enough that she would likely see through anything he thought to say. besides, she deserves better than his cowardice. “i couldn’t bear to see you with him anymore,” but it hadn’t just been about her. “and i made a deal, with god, that i my brothers and i triumphed against a traitor at court, if all of us were alive, and you were safe, i would devote my life to him.”

Whenever he talked with his men on his spare time the conversations they had usually turned out to be about the same topic...war. He was thankful for the trust they showed in him and glad that they were so focus on it because it meant that they were doing as best as they could but, even to him, it could get repetitive and tiring to talk about the same thing all the time.

Which was exactly why Robb happily accepted Odette's offer before saying goodbye to the other men “ I must thank you, my lady ” he began once they were away from them “ if it hadn't been for your intervention I swore I could have seen myself dying out of boredom there ” he had a joking tone as he let her lead the way to the garden.

“ Do you come here often? ” he asked turning his head slightly so that he faced her before he took around. It was a beautiful and calm place so it wouldn't surprise him at all if she used it to get a moment of peace away from others. What did get to him in a way, even if he didn't mention it, was how little time he had now to appreciate such simple things “ you seem to know your way around it pretty well ”

it never ceases to amaze him when such profanity escapes odette’s mouth, a fact that is proven by the way that the prince practically chokes on his drink. he’s coughing and sputtering, attempting to regain his composure ; princesses aren’t meant to use such language, but when has odette ever been one for propriety?

once adam has sufficiently calmed down, the prince glances over at the person in question that had drew such a sentence from his wife’s lips. ah. it’s one of the insufferable dukes that seems to insist upon trying to discredit the young couple’s rule. now, he understands exactly what had gotten odette fired up.

“ bloody prick, ” he mutters, rolling his eyes and taking another sip of the champagne in his hand. “ i swear, he lives just to make us miserable, doesn’t he? ” a pause, followed by his highness turning his attention onto his bride and inquiring, “ what would you say if the two is us snuck out onto the dance floor before he could corner us, hmm? ”

          He had to admit this was not an ideal situation, for either it seemed. Though he was not a cruel or cold hearted man, far from it in fact. Though not everyone could easily break his stoic exterior. They walked side by side, their chaperone trailing them like a shadow, hands clasped behind his back. “Does it ever get tiresome to have them watch your every move.” There’s a soft smile, as he tilts his head to their following attempting to lighten the stiff silence that had settled over them.

happy holidays to emma ( @swanode )! i’ve been following you for quite some time and i never actually summed up the courage to talk to you. but i’m so happy we’ve had the chance because you’re so nice and easy to talk to! i have really become attached to our muses and their relationship. anakin and odette make for some really sweet moments and some really comical dialogue. i love our star wars take on the two just as much as i love our modern take. but for this i decided to go with odette’s canon verse! we love these two because fuck derek and i’m always up for odette and anakin shenanigans! happiest of holidays and a good new year to you!
