Casimir hadn't thought of him as beautiful before, never getting past hot and intimidating for long enough to appreciate the finer points of his features. Now, when he left the bathroom and Sylvan was lounging on the bed, that was the thing he found himself utterly lost in.
He was glowing in a beam of sunlight, and his hair was fluffy from air-drying. His eyes were shockingly pale against his bronze skin, although the exact color was lost in the golden light.
He lifted himself to his elbows when he noticed Casimir, who could all too vividly imagine going over there and kissing him.
He wondered idly if he would fuck him if he asked nicely.
He shook off the thought - both thoughts, really - and forced himself to get a grip. His job was to be suspicious of him, not to fall in love with him.
#taking a break from the main story to write some cas/syl#turns out writing from casimir's pov is pretty fun#i'm going for a slow burn with these two#so it'll be at least a year from this before anything happens between them#don't know if i need to tag this as something because of the slight obscenity#let me know#writers on tumblr#writeblr

Today is November 11th which is Pocky Day, so I drew Attiana (Atticus x Juliana), Florenny (Florian x Penny), and Arvemona (Arven x Nemona) playing Pocky Game.
Attiana is romantic type, whereas Florenny is pure (innocent) type, and Arvemona... well... simply competitive type (perhaps).
+Translation+
Attiana
Juliana: Mmph!
Atticus: Truly, a kiss with thee is much sweeter than that confectionary.
Juliana: Atticus...
Florenny
Penny: It's just a game, just a game, just...
Florian: Pocky tastes good.
Florian: S, sorry, Penny! I...
Penny: N, No... My bad...
Sylveon: Syl (Good Job)!
Arvemona
Nemona: Arven! Let's play Pocky Game! I'm not gonna lose to Juliana and Florian!
Arven: W,wha?!
Arven: Ca..
Arven: Can't take it anymore!!
Nemona: Eh~?!

Sharing an upcoming lecture series offered by Ca’ Foscari University, Venice that is free and open to the public upon registration.
Here’s the abstract:
Virtual lecture series organized and moderated by Alexandra Isfahani-Hammond (University of California, San Diego) and Federica Timeto (Ca’Foscari University, Venice), in collaboration with the Environmental Humanities Degree at Ca’ Foscari University. The lectures are free and open to all (upon registration, see below).
Frantz Fanon observed that “the terms the settler uses when he mentions the native are zoological terms” and that colonizer and colonized are constructed as “different species” (The Wretched of the Earth). White supremacy and an always exclusionary “humanism” stand on one side, with racialized and sub-humanized “animals” on the other. As Syl Ko observes, “By human, everybody just means white” (Aphro-ism).
To engage with animals in colonial encounters is to approach what Claire Jean Kim calls a “dangerous crossing” (Dangerous Crossings). Kim advocates an ethics of mutual avowal, whereby we simultaneously see and respond to multiple forms of oppression. Mutual avowal means challenging both settler colonialism and apartheid as well as ever-present human-on-animal “warfare” (Dinesh Wadiwel, The War Against Animals).
Our lecture series encompasses interdisciplinary and transnational perspectives that engage Kim’s praxis of mutual avowal. Topics to be addressed include the complex and often contradictory relationship of veganism and animal liberation to colonialism; individuals and organizations that approach nonhuman animal liberation as a fundamental component of decolonization; and the decimating impact of occupation and habitat destruction on wild animals, companion animals, feral animals, and animals used for food and labor.

the gimmick blogs are like tumblr’s rogue gallery. yes we’ve got some heroes, yes we’ve got some villains, but more importantly if you look over here you will see some freak who devotes all their time to counting the number of “t’s” in a post

Cas, minding his own business:
Whyck, creeping up and jumping onto Cas to give him a hug: Haha I got you!! The Syl train has come to a stop at station you!
Cas, looking down at Whyck with wide eyes:
Whyck: And… I… uh….
Cas, eyes watering:
Whyck: Cas? You okay?
Cas, tears falling down his face:
Whyck: Casimir?????????

"Where is he?" Sylvan asked. He was coming in from the rain, but had managed to keep his suit mostly dry.
"Upstairs," Casimir said. Sylvan had only been across the alley while controlling the dogs, but it had taken him forever to get back. Casimir had been sinking into the shadows, while Luka walked through the old building and turned on the lights. "Where were you?"
"Seeing if there was anything to salvage." His tone was bitter, and Casimir knew they were about to have that same discussion again. "Did he destroy all of them?"
Sylvan shook his head. "One left."
"Look," Casimir sighed. "When he comes back down…"
"We're not bringing him in."
"Syl," he protested. "We have to."
"I don't care," Sylvan said. "We don't need him. Garrett will see that, when we—"
"What? Kill him?"
"Why not?"
"He's a legend. It's not going to be that easy," Casimir said, changing his tactic. Clearly Sylvan wasn't going to be won over by mission goals. Maybe he would accept that it wasn't worth the risk.
Sylvan shrugged. "He didn't seem that tough to me."
"In the pouring rain? No, I bet."
"Cas, we're doing him a favor. I promise."
"I don't—"
Sylvan stilled then, his head jerking towards the door. Casimir barely had to turn his head to know that Luka Lavrin was standing there. He was already grabbing for Sylvan, when he lurched towards Luka.
"No," he said. He couldn't see his eyes under the mask, but he could feel the glare as Sylvan turned back towards him. He pulled himself free from his grip, and Casimir stepped into his path. "Let me handle this."
He probably shouldn't have taken his eyes off Luka, but right now he was more concerned with preserving Luka's life than his own. Besides, Sylvan was watching him enough for the both of them.
"How sure are you, that he's right?" He jerked his head towards Luka. "He might pretend to be a Rogue, but he still looks like an Academy dog to me."
Casimir shook his head, but Sylvan wasn't paying attention to him. "It doesn't matter," he said, one last plea. "We don't get to make that choice." He knew that Sylvan already had, even before he called up his magic.
Sylvan pushed him aside, and this time, Casimir didn't fight it. Maybe, if Luka was as good as Garrett seemed to think, it wouldn't matter. He kept his magic close to his skin as he watched them. He could let it play out, but only as long as it didn't look like Luka would kill Sylvan.
He stood back, and watched it play out.
Watched, as it became clear that Sylvan wouldn't win. Luka was weak, but he was good.
"Goddammit, Syl," he muttered. That was seconds before Luka got his hands on him and the screams started.
Casimir felt a rush of panic that caused his magic to swirl across his fingertips.
He didn't even think, before a sword had materialized in his hand.
"Let him go." He had to shout over the screams.
"I don't think so," Luka said, his voice carrying annoyingly well. "He seems pretty intent on killing me, so I don't see how that works in my favor."
"He can't do much to you. Not in here. But I can." He leveled the sword at his throat. "Let. Him. Go."
When Luka complied, Sylvan fell limp to the ground. He stirred, still breathing, and Casimir felt like his heart restarted.
"Fine," he said.
He backed away from them both, but Casimir kept the sword pointed at him.
"You've made your point," Luka said. "Take your friend and go."
Casimir felt frozen, but they were beyond him letting this go. "Have we?" He asked. "Because I no longer think we have."
He charged.
Luka's energy was waning, his magic almost gone. Casimir could feel the desperation, but it didn't mean he wasn't sharp. He got the advantage once, managed to land a hit, but Casimir was quick to recover.
He replaced the sword with two daggers, getting in closer.
He buried one of the blades in Luka's stomach, he suspected instinct Healed it, because Luka did not have the magic to spare and was cornered.
He shoved Luka against the wall, and pinned him with his forearm against his chest.
"Now, we've made our point," he said.
He slid the other blade between Luka's ribs, clean through his body.
He should have stopped, but Sylvan was still on the ground and he was angry enough that sense abandoned him.
He stabbed him again.
Luka collapsed, bleeding heavily. His magic stuttered, but didn't quite manage to settle. Casimir knelt down next to him.
"If you do manage to survive this, here's a hint: in this fairy tale, the emerald road leads to wonderland."

Chỉ cất tiếng ca vui, cất tiếng cười vui may ra mới hạnh phúc.

“Oh, people will do anything I say. Doesn’t matter how good security is, I’ll just tell them not to do anything to me.” Cas shrugged. He assumed Syl was at least somewhat aware of what an avatar was, or the supernatural at the very least. Huh, Cas was a much bigger threat than he seemed, and he used it to… steal biscuits.
Someone walked past Syl in the archives who clearly wasn’t supposed to be there. He didn’t work there, but he was stealing biscuits from the break room. In fact, he was so focused on the several biscuits in his hand that he walked into Syl. Whoops. “Oh- I’m sorry.”
(( @casandaxel ))
ah- d-don't worry about it.
no need to appologize...
I... haven't seen you around here before...
I- I mean I haven't met many people here yet so that's not really saying anything.. uh- sorry.

blood types in alatheia
Surprisingly, life on earth has a rainbow of different blood types and colors! Where Alatheia and Elysia differ, however, is that not all mortalis have red blood.
Red-Blooded Mortalis (I)
Those with iron based blood. This type is the least common in Alatheia due to the higher levels of oxygen. Some fauna can be found at higher altitudes.
Most common in elysians
Some mythics, primordials
Yellow-Blooded Mortalis (V)
Yellow blood contains vanabin, found in vanadium. This chemical allows yellow-blooded creatures to survive with less energy than most other creatures. It also allows such creatures to take in excess energy from an external source and strengthen themselves. Yellow blooded creatures are also hemerythrin based, however the color from the vanadium completely overpowers what would have been a violet-pink color.
Krellans
Lunar Humans
Siyal
Inamorata
Green-Blooded Mortalis (CA)
Those with green blood inhale carbon dioxide/monoxide and exhale oxygen. With chlorocruorin in their blood, they have a weaker affinity for oxygen, and a higher carbon monoxide affinity. They tend to live in areas with lower levels of oxygen, and away from floral life so as to lessen competition.
Aydil
Kihres
Nellainae
Some minae
Blue-Blooded Mortalis (C)
Blue blood is copper based, and is less efficient at transporting oxygen. It is colorless until oxygenated, causing those who have it to seem a bit translucent. Those with copper blood live in more oxygen rich environments, and have the hardest time adapting to low level oxygen environments and atmospheres.
Solar Humans
Aydlings
Kalithae
Some minae
Purple-Blooded Mortalis (CH)
Those with purple blood cannot survive with copper based blood alone; there is a small bit of hemerythrin to aid in the transport of oxygen, and as a result, the blood turns a purple shade. They have a bit of an easier time adapting to lower level oxygen environments, compared to that of pure blue blooded creatures.
Aisels
Syl
Adaptable-Blooded Mortalis (HC)
Those with adaptable blood have bodies that can adapt to their environment and atmosphere, allowing them to survive in different levels of oxygen. Their blood is mainly copper based, however their bodies can produce more or less hemerythrin depending on the necessity of oxygen. This can cause their blood to range from blue to all shades of purple to pink. They have the easiest time adapting to different planets and oxygen levels.
Kaethai
Shifters
Violet/Pink-Blooded Mortalis (H)
Those with violet-pink blood produce more hemerythrin to survive lower oxygen levels. They have about the same amount of ease as those with adaptable blood when it comes to traveling to Earth. They often live in higher altitude areas where the atmosphere is thinner and there is less oxygen.
Kreos
Colorless Blooded Mortalis (O)
Those with colorless blood live in the cold depths of the ocean; due to the fact that cold water holds a lot more oxygen than warm water. Therefore, chemicals that aid in oxygen transport are not needed in such high concentrations. They are unable to adapt, and do not leave their home environments. Creatures that flicker between planes of reality also have this type of blood.
Certain types of Kalithae
Vaudite
Levires
