series masterlist
Another weekend passed, the two of you finding yourselves in good company as you splashed around Kimmy's pool, snacks and drinks flowing.
Shayne couldn't keep his hands off of you, even months after the two of you had become official; he was taking every opportunity to make up for lost time.
This was made apparent as you stood chatting with Damien, strong arms wrapping around your waist as Shayne rested his head on your shoulder, his lips pressed to your cheek.
You felt your heart flutter as you rested your hands atop his, enjoying your boyfriend and his best friends company. Courtney called out to you, inviting you to join her in a game with a few others. You excused yourself as you slipped from Shayne's embrace, his hand sneaking into your back pocket as he tugs you back to him.
You giggle, placing a peck on his lips before you wandered off. Shayne finally tore his eyes from you, turning to see Damien with a massive grin.
"I'm so proud of you dude. Yall are gross and feel like l'm gonna puke, but you two look really happy together."
Shayne felt the blush creep across his cheeks as he shrugged. Shayne was so fucking happy with you. He thought he was gonna pass out earlier in the month when you asked him to help you pick out a cat from the shelter. You called him after your opening shift one day, bringing up the idea, insisting he had to join you in the endeavor.
"The cat is gonna be around you all the time, Shayne, you guys have to get along." He could practically hear your pout as he remembered your argument to him. He almost found himself saying those three little words before he agreed.
Now you both had two tabby kittens from the same litter terrorizing your respective apartments.
The two of your kept your normal routine, seeing him every morning you worked and again, occasionally, in the afternoon for lunch. If times lined up, Shayne would pick you up, taking you out to eat after your shifts. You alternated movie nights, staying up late and talking about nothing while cuddled together your couches.
He didn't think he'd get here, to the point of being with you, being able to call you his. The boys quickly joined lan and Spencer in a contest for the biggest splash. When Shayne's turn arrived, he shot you a wink, proclaiming his win was for you.
He got a head start, jumping into the pool with a cannonball. He swam to the side, pulling himself out as he shook his hair dry. You grinned, cheering and clapping with the others.
"That's my man!" You called out, winking at Shayne as his heart began to race.
Your man.
My man.
The words echoed through his mind on repeat as he joined you, positioning himself behind you on the lounge chair, his legs on either side of yours.
Shayne let his lips ghost softly over the skin of your exposed shoulder, your hair now tugged up into a bun. The two of you laid back, your head resting back on his chest as you chatted with your friends.
Thankfully, no one quite noticed as the two of you had mentally checked out of the conversation.
You couldn't focus anymore as Shayne's wandering hands rubbed lightly at the skin of your hips, his fingers playing aimlessly with the strings of your bathing suit bottoms. You let your hands fall to his strong thighs, fingers tracing his muscles, the smooth skin warm and sunkissed.
You pushed gently at Shayne's hands as you sat up, feeling them rest gently on your bum. He gave your ass a playful squeeze before you stood, stretching.
You yawned, excusing yourself and Shayne, claiming you had an early shift the next day. A small smirk graced your boyfriend's sealed lips. You were off tomorrow and something in your eyes told him that he wouldn't be dropping you off at your place.
The two of you said your rounds of goodbyes, gathering your discarded clothes before making a quick exit, Shayne's hand tangled with yours as you headed to the car.
"You're a terrible person, lying to all of your friends like that." Shayne quipped as he put on his seatbelt, chuckling.
You leaned across the center console, guiding him toward you as you spoke softly, face inches from his.
"What they don't know can't hurt them, Shayne. I want to be alone with you as soon as possible and that is all your fault, sir." You grinned, your lips finally meeting his. The twWo of you moved in sync, lips slotted together perfectly as the kiss deepened, your hands gripping at Shayne's shirt.
He slowly pulls away, punctuating with a few small pecks before he shoots you a lazy grin.
"Back to yours, babe?"
Shayne's hands gripped at you, his nails leaving small scratches upon the soft skin of your hips, his hands trailing under your shirt, slowly pushing the fabric up.
He breaks your heated kiss, barely getting your shirt over you head before his lips were on yours once more.
Your hands splayed across his bare chest, having undone the buttons of his hawaiian shirt on the drive home. Your heart was pounding so fast you could've sworn he would hear it.
You whined, pulling away slowly, tugging Shayne's bottom lip between your teeth, before pointing towards your froon door.
He huffed, taking the hint before he quickly locked the door, upset he was losing out on time he could be spending exploring your body.
Shayne was quick to turn to you, his lips were a bit swollen, his hair now a chlorine scented mess, sticking out in all directions, and he was barely even considered dressed. His bathing suit bottoms sat low on his hips as he moved back toward you.
You felt weak in the knees at the sight before you, shamelessly letting your eyes rake over him body, a small moan escaping you.
He chuckled, cupping your face gently, placing his lips on your's again. He let his other hand slide down your side, cupping the back of your thigh, encouraging you to wrap your legs around his waist.
Shayne lifts you with little effort, a small gasp escaping you, allowing him to slip his tongue past your lips, deepening the kiss. He moves the two of you down the hall quickly, pressing your back to the bedroom door after he kicked it shut behind you.
You hands tangled into Shayne's hair, tugging and whining as he trails his lips down your neck, suckling faint bruises into your skin. He groaned softly as his hands slid behind your back, fumbling a bit as he pulled at the strings of your bikini top, the fabric sliding to the floor.
Shayne couldn't hold back the grin he shot you, dreaming of having you just like this, but he always thought it was just out of his grasp. He moved you to the mattress, laying you on your back as your nipples pebbled from the cold air.
You felt your cheeks heating up as Shayne's eyes roamed your body, knowing his routine by now.
Shayne loves to let his eyes trace every detail of your body, his lip pulled between his teeth before he smiles brightly at you.
He can't help but take his time to admire you, to show you just how much he loves you without words, and this just might be his favorite way to do that.
His hands cupped your breasts softly, slowly moving them downward, gripping the edge of your pants in his fingertips.
You melt as he looks to you with brows raised, asking for your permission before he tugs your last covering off, laying bare for him as your bottoms and shorts hit his bedroom floor.
Shayne's mind and heart were racing as he let out a soft groan, drinking in the sight before him. He lets his hands wander, taking notice of every small noise you let out, every small twitch.
Shayne loved pleasing you, that you both knew. He'd even gotten off on making you come quite a few times now.
He removed his shirt, sliding himself down between your thighs.
He'd even gotten off on making you cum a few He looked up to you again, a soft smile on his lips as his face stilled just inches from where you wanted him the most. You whine and pout, huffing softly.
"You okay?" Shayne spoke softly, his hands finally resting on your thighs, massaging your skin with his thumbs as he moves them over his shoulders.
You nod eagerly, opening your mouth to protest.
"Shayne, please just.." You trail off, your head pressing back into the mattress as his warm tongue licks a trail between your lips, the butterflies in your stomach going insane. One hand tangled into his hair, while the other gripped the sheets desperately as he began a routine of slow, agonizing laps at your juices, Shayne savoring every call of his name that rang from your lips.
You couldn't help the mumbled begging you were doing.
"Shayne, please just.. yes.. please, fuck, yes.. right there, oh my god, Shayne!" You cried out as he switched his pace, his lips around your clit, suckling at the bundle of nerves.
Shayne felt like he was dripping sweat, his heart pounding as he sat between your thighs, savoring your taste.
He fucking loved how you tasted. It wasn't anything sweet or anything unpleasant like nost people tended to describe it as.You tasted like pussy and he loved it.
He knew now that he could die a happy man, buried between your thighs for the rest of his days.
Shayne knew he'd done something right when he felt you tense, his hand splayed across your stomach, pressing you into the mattress; he knew youd came, but that didn't mean he was done.
You couldn't hold it any longer, stars blurring your vision as you squeezed your eyes shut, a chorus of Shayne's name spilled from your lips as you came.
You'd never been that easy to get before, and you hadn't come from just oral in a very long time. Shayne took you by surprise in multiple ways today.
After cleaning up his mess, Shayne slid up, hovering over you as he pressed a few kisses to your jaw.
"You taste so good..." Shayne groaned, his nervousness pushed aside by the pure joy he'd been given.
You felt a shiver roll down your spine as you slowly raked your nails down his back. Shayne finally met your eyes, a grin slowly spreading across your face as you cup his cheeks.
"Shayne." You placed a soft, slow kiss to his lips before you pulled away. "Please fuck me."
The sickeningly sweet smile accompanying your filthy words drove him more insane than he could've imagined.
He placed his lips to yours feverishly, desperate to wipe the smile from your face. He pulled away slowly just as he felt you tug at his hair, knowing he was leaving you on the edge, again. Shayne kept his eyes on yours as he stood at the bedside.
You shuffled, resting up on your elbows as he placed his thumbs under the waistband of his underwear.
You were shameless, you eyes raking over his defined chest and abs before your eyes followed the trail of hair downward.
A small moan left you as your eyes followed the falling of his shorts as they hit the floor, then back up again.
Shayne tried his best not to let it go to his head, but he loved the look in your eyes each time you saw him like this, no matter how often that may be.
You couldn't stop yourself from squeezing your thighs together at just the sight of him.
"C'mon, don't get shy now, you always have something smart to say." Shayne chuckled as he crawled back on to the mattress, resuming his previous position. He sat back a bit, lining himself up with you.
You both moaned quietly as Shayne pushed himself into you. You almost had to admire just how well he fit you as you took a few seconds to adjust.
Shayne started off slowly, letting his lips feel every curve of your body that he possibly could, his hands touching every part that his lips couldn't reach.
A mixture of your moans echoed off the walls as your nails dug softly into Shayne's shoulders, your lips trailing his jaw. It seemed like Shayne knew things about your body that you didn't even know as he moved perfectly, making you melt as his hand slid down.
His hand pressed against your hip, stilling your movements, as he crashed his lips to yours, muffling your sounds as they grow louder. Shayne circles his thumb over your clit, your lips and tongues tangling as you moan into the kiss, your walls tightening around him.
Eventually Shayne gave in to his want, a soft moan of your name escaping him as he lifted you legs, setting them over his shoulder.
You gasp, causing him to still as he looks to you, about to to question if you were okay before the most beautiful sound hit his ears.
You moan, loudly, almost seeming unashamed, his name falling from your lips like a mantra. The new angle brought pleasures you never could've expected.
Shayne's eyes widened at your sound, leaning forward as he spoke softly, rolling his hips a bit, another moan leaving your lips.
"Y/N." Shayne began, his tone warning you enough already. "I have neighbors, baby." He chuckled a bit as your cheeks burned.
Shayne gripped your thighs gently, his nails leaving small marks on your skin as he presses himself into you once more. You squeezed your eyes shut, gasping in pleasure as you suppresseda moan. Shayne felt like he was going to explode at the sight before him.
It pushed him a bit further, his pace quickening as he moaned softly, his hands gripping at your waist.
You felt yourself reaching the edge again as you looked to Shayne, following his eyes downward as he watched himself fuck you.
Your walls fluttered as you let go, a loud moan of his name leaving you as you came around im. You felt Shayne tense, his hands gripping at the mattress beside your head as he came, your name spilling from his lips like music to your ears.
The two of you stayed like that for a moment or two, catching your breaths before Shayne pulled out and lowered your legs, resting them on the mattress.
Shayne grinned at you before leaning down, your sweaty foreheads pressed together.
"We should stretch before we fuck next time, we're too old for that stuff." You chuckled, pressing your lips to his. Shayne pouted softly as he got up, heading into your bathroom.
"Are your legs sore, love?" Shayne laughed as he turned on the shower, warming the water before he headed back in to you.
You laid on your side, checking your phone when he entered.
Shayne grinned, biting his lip before he scooped you up, pressing his lips to every bit of your face.
He almost said it, he wanted to say it so badly.
But he settled for a different time, he'd tell you eventually.
The two of you shared a slow, lazy shower, enjoying the quiet time together before drying off and dressing.
You wandered into your kitchen after him, dressed in a pair of his sweats he'd left and one of his many pizza place shirts.
Shayne wanted this moment engraved into his brain. This was everything he ever wanted and he never would've guessed he'd be here. He was quick to pull you into his arms as soon as you were within reach. The two of you stood at the fridge, Shayne's arms wrapped around your waist.
"Alright, I am out of pretty much everything, so.. cereal?" You grinned, looking to him with your brows raised.
He finally said it. He couldn't stop himself, the thought nagging him more and more the longer he ignored it.
So when the two of you began playing some video games, Mario Kart was apparently the wrong choice.
The both of you became playfully competitive, shoving, calling names and yelling at each other. After a few rounds of some different games that always ended the same, no matter who won, the two of you decided on another bowl of cereal.
You tilted your head a bit as Shayne told you a story about Spencer's last birthday, bringing up his infamous screaming.
"How loud can you scream? You measured it before, didn't you?" You questioned before taking another bite. You had heard Shayne's screaming quite a few times, but you couldn't tell if you've heard just how loud he can get.
A quick scream catches you off guard, your hand covering your mouth as you almost spew your cereal. Shayne can't help but cackle, surprising himself.
"l'm sorry!" He was quick to defend himself before his laughter. "I really only do that in the studio, and that's where my screaming gets brought up the most, so, yanno, just a habit to.. scream."
Shayne trails off, doubling over in laughter as you shake your head. The two of you get lost in a fit of giggles together before you eventually calm, taking a few breaths.
"I know you said that you only do that in the studio but better hear that in bed next time." You laughed, giving your boyfriend a wink.
"I love you."
He spoke, his laughter never faltering as he gave in, knowing that the timing might not be perfect but that it would be perfect for you two. He was right, this was a weird time, but it felt right.
"I love you too."
Your cheeks were bright pink as your heart fluttered, your lip tucked between your teeth as you admired Shayne. Your heart had never felt so full of love.

a little 633 word drabble of a meetcute, awkward Shayne encounter in which you, a new barista at his favorite coffeeshop, get to see a very cute regular for the first time! enjoy, feel free to message me, and let me know if y'all want another part!! xx
series masterlist🫶
Shayne wandered into the small shop, eyes low as the clock struck just past seven in the morning. He followed his usual routine of waiting in the small line patiently, glued to his phone before he could step to the counter.
He's become accustomed to the small group of employees, meeting them through the rotations of his early morning stops, so he was a bit thrown off to see a new face.
Thrown off for maybe a few reasons. To start, someone new? He felt like he'd finally gotten the names of everyone down, feeling comfortable in their small talks, but now he'd have to start it again; the uncomfortable introduction of the new barista and a regular. The second, he just couldn't seem to find his words. You had Shayne in a trance, with eyes that the man felt he could stare at all day, a smile that instantly caused one of his own.
Was he nervous? Was Shayne seriously nervous over meeting a new employee at his local coffee shop? No, of course he wasn't, his palms were always this sweaty, his heart always felt like it was bound to beat out of his chest, and he always takes this long to order.
He finally snapped, realizing he'd been off in his own head a bit too long to be comfortable with. So he smiles back, a bit brighter now.
"Hi."
Shayne wanted the floor to open up and swallow him whole. All that time of silence for this. The barista let out a small chuckle that sent butterflies about his stomach and made his knees weak. You offer a greeting to the man before looking to him expectantly.
"I'm sorry, just a, uh, rough night," he chuckled, looking up to the menu, eyes scanning the board as if he hadn't been there a million times.
"Have you been here before?" You smiled, tilting your head a bit as you awaited a response.
"Yeah, a few times before, not often.." Shayne lied straight through his teeth with impeccable timing, as one of the other employees walked past, greeting him by name. The boy's face fell, eliciting a small chuckle from behind the counter as he knew he'd been caught.
"Okay, maybe often," he felt a bit more settled now that he'd been able to avoid your soft eyes. He should've remained that way, because as soon as he looked back to the barista, he felt like he would melt into a puddle on the floor, left for someone to mop up. "I'm Shayne, it's nice to meet you.."
You filled in your name, punctuating it with a small wink that, come to think of it, Shayne may have imagined. His head was swimming with so much and so little all at once that he wouldn't put it past himself to have hallucinated this whole interaction.
Shayne quickly tried his best to shake himself and finally settled on ordering, kind of.
"Surprise me, make me your favorite." He offered a bright smile, cashing out quietly before moving aside to wait.
He couldn't stand himself, was it selfish to ask for your favorite drink just so he could have a little bit of you throughout his day? Shayne had never been so caught off guard by someone before, especially not a stranger.
He left the store, offering a small wave to the person behind the counter as he did. Your name was whispered from Shayne's lips, barely audible, just testing the water to see how it felt. Maybe another selfish move, but he would take his small bits and pieces of you if he could, for now.
Shayne sipped on his drink, damning just how good it was, before deciding that he didn't want you to be a stranger, but he couldn't quite tell why.

support your local caffeine dealer: chapter 3
Tumblr media
okay, okay I really feel like this is where the story starts to pick up, I hope y'all like it 💗 message me any thoughts about it!! this one is finally 2k words long!!
series masterlist🫶
texts will be bold and italicized like this
Shayne kept his word, even taking a different route home as to avoid passing by the shop. He almost couldn't bring himself to do it, but let's not dwel on that too much. He caught himself setting his alarms a bit earlier, hopefully giving himself the time to see you.
He's got a smile on his face as the familiar bell rings above his head at the start of the next morning, his eyes already searching for you behind the counte.
"Hey, getting the usual?"
He felt bad that he wasn't indulging in the lives of the employees, as he usually does, not wanting to put forth the effort for his small friendships today.
The man nods, relatively quiet as he pays and waits.
A small laugh from behind him catches his attention, turning to glance over his shoulder. You sat a few tables away, tugging your headphones off as you grin at him. Bite the bullet, you thought to yourself, you should enjoy these small moments with your favorite, pretty stranger.
"Come here often?" You chirp, chuckling as Shayne grabs his drink, shaking his head. You nod, motioning him over to you. You couldn't help but take in his outfit, his dark green shirt looks soft, fitting him well. Very well. As did his blue jeans, the small rips showing peeks of skin from beneath.
Shayne checks his watch, noting he could probably make it to work on time, he should take a few minutes to talk with you. He feels his heart racing in the best way possible, his palms begin to sweat again. The ability you held, making him more nervous than he thought anyone could, was something he hoped would never change.
"Ya know, I came here yesterday and the service was terrible, I don't know why I came back." Shayne chuckles, sipping his drink as he seats himself in the chair across from you, eyeing you over the edge of his cup.
You scoff, placing a hand to your chest as you shake your head softly.
"What a shame, you should talk to the manager about it," you shrug, leaning your arms onto the table.
"Not to pry into your life or anything but, what do you do for a living, Shayne? You seem to have quite a bit of free time to spend here."
Shayne nods, chuckling, it's only fair to share that information, obviously he knows where you work. Maybe this could be fun, sharing small parts of your lives with each other. This felt safe to him, this felt like a budding friendship, and he should allow it to happen.
"I'm an actor," he answers, waiting for any sort of eye roll or comment he's used to, but all he gets is an expectant look, you were encouraging him to continue. You wanted to hear mnore.
He allows himself to indulge, explaining that Damien works with him too, the both acting and staring as personalities on the internet. You thought it was cute, but didnt quite grasp the scale of how large their company was, and Shayne enjoyed that.
Itd been quite sometime since he'd met anyone who didn't have the same job as him, or didn't know him for his career. The two of you continued on for a while, lost in the small talk of getting to know each other. Small questions, where you were from, what brought you here; Shayne felt much more comfortable than he expected to when he satwith you.
He managed to speak to you, have a full conversation, he was proud of himself. And you were proud of yourself; you shared little, yes, but this was a beginning, this was a start for you two. Less strangers now, and that's what you wanted.
Shayne trailed off as his phone buzzes repeatedly, drawing his attention to the time. Forty-five minutes past the call time.
"Fuck.." The man muttered under his breath, running a hand through his hair and chuckling. "I'm sorry, I.. I really enjoyed this, Y/N, but am pretty late for a shoot.."
You looked to him with wide eyes, shaking your head.
"I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to keep you here, butI had fun, this was nice." You offer, smiling brightly as he stands.
You chew your lip, grabbing a pen before taking his hand, quickly sprawling your number across his palm before you had the time to second-guess yourself.
"Text me or call me, if you want to." Your heart was pounding, a blush evident on your cheeks. What did you have to lose? If he texts you, that's great, if not, then you will continue on like it never even happened. Just two strangers whơve talked a time or two, nothing more.
Shayne looked from his hand, admiring your name scribbled beneath your number, back to you with a bright grin. He felt lighter, like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. You liked this, you enjoyed this enough to want to continue it. You wanted to text, to call, to give him more of your time, more of yourself.
"I will, I promise. I-I hope you have a good day, and, hey, maybe I'll see you tomorrow." He punctuates with a wink, spurring a small giggle from you, pink tinging your cheeks once more.
"Maybe I'll see you tomorrow, Shayne."
The man quickly exits the shop, stealing a look over his shoulder to find you meeting his eyes already, both of your faces plastered with small, shy smiles.
He makes quick work of texting lan that he'd overslept, he'd make it in a few minutes. He pocketed his phone as he entered the building, after adding you to his contacts.
"y/n☕" his screen read as he looked to the empty text thread.
His mind races with what to say, nothing seeming quite good enough, so he settles for sipping his drink. He'll figure it out later.
As he enters the set, his eyes meet Damien's, a smirk on his friends lips. Shayne shoots the man a confused look as he settles into his seat beside him.
"Late because you overslept but you still took the time to get coffee, hm."
Damien teased, prompting Shayne to tuck his drink beside his chair, under the table. He shrugged, wringing his hands together a bit nervously.
"I was already late, a few minutes wasn't gonna make it much worse."
Damien's eyes dart to Shayne's hand, his mouth agape as he breathlessly chuckles.
"ls that a phone number?"
Shayne shifts in his seat, hoping Damien hadn't caught your name inked into his skin as well. "Yeah, need to call about a casting for something, didn't wanna forget the number."
His chest burned as he spoke. He knew he didn't have to lie, he could've told his best friend the truth, and he wouldn't keep lying forever. He just wanted this to be his for now; wanted you to be his.
He knew his friends would love you, he knew you'd fit in, but for now, he was allowed to be selfish; keeping you to himself. You were special, he didn't want to rush anything. Shayne wanted you to be his, to share your light with his friends. But for now, you'd remain in his mind constantly.
You didn't want to admit it to yourself, but you were definitely waiting for a text from Shayne.
He's at work, he's probably just busy, he's probably with his friends, probably.. at lunch.
It sucked that you couldn't help your anxiety from putting you on edge, your mind running with every terrible possibility to explain why you hadn't heard from him.
As if Shayne knew, he finally got a free minute in his busy shooting schedule.
"hi"
He was already beating himself up, don't worry. He'd spent all this time dwelling on what he should say; maybe something funny, something flirty. But no, he settled for a simple hello.
"it took you that long to type two letters? very underwhelming"
Fuck, why would she say that? What has possessed her to immediately message him so rudely.
"Imfao, okay, that's fair. should start over? we can act like that never even happened"
He audibly chuckled, a bit surprised that she was so quick to poke fun at him. He liked a little bit of push and pull like that, the ability to bounce off of someone else.
"no, no, I'll take it, just try better next time"
She unknowingly brought another smile to his face.
"I gotta run back to a shoot, but talk to you later"
"maybe"
She was a bit giddy seeing him give her back a bit of the attitude she was giving him.
"ttyl maybe x"
His heart fluttered just a smidge when he reads the x. A hug? Cute.
Was he seriously overthinking a single letter in a text message from his favorite barista? He never thought he'd have a favorite barista, but here he stood, grinning at his phone.
Damien coughed a bit as he slid on to the couch beside his friend.
"You ready to tell me about it yet?"
Shayne mulled over his options yet again, still not certain what he should say, if anything at all.
"Well, I got her number this morning."
The brunette broke into a grin, eyebrows raised. Damien wouldn't have thought that he'd get that far, at least not yet. Shayne had been single for quite a bit now, unless you count a few unsuccessful dates. He'd seen Shayne do some shameless flirting with a stranger before, but something about this time felt different.
Damien nudges his shoulder into his friend's, nodding his head.
"I'm proud of you."
"She gave it to me."
This made him shrug,
"You still got it, you put forth the effort for it, didn't you?"
Shayne shrugged back, unsure of what exactly convinced you to give him your number, but he must've done something right.
Damien nodded, knowing exactly how Shayne's mind works, pretty much spot on for guessing his friends thoughts.
As you finish up your shift, your phone buzzes oftly in your pocket.
"no espresso now I'm depresso"
You coughed, caught off guard by the message, a bit of laughter spilling from you.
"that was terrible, I'm sorry about your lack of caffeine, but that was very, very bad"
She chewed her lip again, humming in thought before deciding she liked these small changes to see him much more than she thought she did.
"i can bring you some coffee if you want? can grab it before my shift ends"
Is he having a heart attack? Heart palpitations? All of the above? He tried to calm his breaths, his mind racing before he quickly moved through the office, heading straight for the games room.
He burst in as quietly as he could before heading toward Damien, who sat with headphones on, humming softly as he loaded into a game.
Shayne set his phone on the desk, the text thread lighting up his screen, allowing Damien to read over them.
As soon as the last message was read, Damien took off his headphones, spinning spinning his seat to face Shayne.
"Say yes, this is another opportunity to see her, and she'll learn some more about you." Damien encouraged, Shayne nodding his head softly.
Shayne didn't think he could speak, he might throw up. Why was he so nervous? She's just bringing coffee to his office, that's a very normal, very friendly thing to do.
"i'd love that, actually, but you don't have to, I can survive"
Shayne sat at his desk, his leg shaking in anticipation of a response.
"😇 send me the address, be there asap to help cure your depresso"

support your local caffeine dealer chapter six
Tumblr media
chapter six if finally here, revealing how the aftermath of the night together will shake out eeeeeee okay yay enjoy!! mwah xx oh yeah it's 3.5k and has some little pieces of spice btw
series masterlist
You awoke slowly, the sun peering through the curtians of your living room window. You move around a bit, confusion flooding your mind as you feel something tough below you.
Your heart races as you open your eyes, your view falling upon a sleeping Shayne, his arms wrapped around your waist. Soft snores leave his mouth as he slumbers.
Your view does nothing to calm your beating heart, your hands shaking a bit as your tried your best not to wake him. You wanted to freak out, like you were internally, but you didn't think you could handle the conversation you needed to have with Shayne right now.
So you slowly, very slowly, remove yourself from him, making sure to replace the blanket, keeping him warm.
You find yourself tiptoing through your own home as you inch toward the kitchen; attempting to brewa pot of coffee as quietly as you could.
You find yourself sat at your dining table, mind racing a million miles a minute as you sipped your coffee; at this point, you were hoping the caffeine would work some magic spell, drawing your memories forth.
Not working.
The last thing you remembered was saying your goodbyes, and getting into Shayne's car, which now seemed like a black hole, sucking all your thoughts away.
Stirring from the couch sent your head quickly turning to face it, a small smile on your lips as you took in Shayne's disheveled look; his hair tousled, clothes a bit askew, his lips quite pink... oh my god.
You didn't..did you? You really hadn't thought of that possibility until now; did you make a move on him? Did you two fuck?
He rises from the couch, stretching his hands above his head as he yawned. The movement tugged his shirt upward, your eyes quickly darting to his abs, the small happy trail downward not helping with your still racing heart.
A small chuckle pulls you away, meeting his eyes shamefully before you quickly turn to sip from your mug as Shayne moves slowly toward the kitchen.
"Well, good morning, Y/N." He trailed off, his heartbeat matching yours as he smiled at you, you still not meeting his eyes. You hummed softly in acknowledgement, nodding towards the coffeepot, an empty mug sitting beside it.
"I've got a couple creamers in the fridge that you can help yourself to." You spoke quietly, still refusing to look at him.
Shayne chewed on his raw and chapped bottom lip as he moved around the counter, pouring his coffee to his liking as a silence fell over the two of you. As hesitantly approached the table, his mind finally helping him to decide the best way to go about this awkwardness, his phone buzzes in the coffee table.
He sighs softly, watching as you turn to the noise. Shayne grabs his cell, lan's name showing on the screen.
He declines the call, shooting a quick text to lan, asking him if it could wait. He felt like you two really needed to talk about last night, he wanted to assure you that he didn't think last night was anything short of friendly, nothing happened, it was nothing. He assumed the two of you were on the same page, he wouldn't have guessed that you were nervous that you had done something worth remembering, and now it was nothing.
lan quickly responded.
"Chanse is sick and we have to shoot today. can you please come in? the shooting schedule is gonna be fucked if we miss this"
Shayne sighed, running a hand through his hair as he shot a quick text back, telling lan to give him an hour and he'd be there. He turned to you, smiling as his eyes finally met yours.
Your mind and heart had both calmed a bit, trying your best to accept every possible outcome, roll with the punches. "I'm sorry." His heart hurt as he saw your smile falter at his words. "Chanse is sick, and -I, uh, gotta go shot for the channel." He trailed off, embarrassed to find himself the one refusing to look at you now.
He pocketed his phone before moving back toward the kitchen, chugging a bit of his coffee before placing his mug in the sink. Shayne found himself wrapping his arms around your shoulders from behind you as you still sat in the chair a bit. You leaned into his chest, smiling.
Shayne placed a chaste kiss to the crown of your head, giving you a gentle squeeze. "I'm sorry, really.. text you later, okay?" Shayne spoke softly as you nodded. You chuckled a bit, tilting your head back to look up at him. He grinned down at you, laughing softly.
talk to you later. maybe." You chuckled, shrugging as you let your head fall forward again, hearing as Shayne chuckles, gathering his things before silently exiting. What the fuck was that? A kiss on the head? Was that just an excuse to get himself out of talking about it?
You groaned, letting your head rest on the tabletop.
You'd like to say you'd done a good job at distracting yourself from constantly thinking about Shayne and last night, but you'd be lying. You started a book sitting in your 'to be read' pile, and then you started a different one because the first wasn't helping. The second one wasn't better.
You settled on TV, throwing on a movie as you sat cuddled into your couch cushions. The same one's that you and Shayne had woken up On.
You did the dishes, only to find the empty mug he left behind before he rushed out of your door.
You didn't expect to spend your day off as a personified ball of anxiety but you can't pick your battles.
He said he would text you, too, but nothing. It'd been hours since he left with a promise of messaging you again.
He'd get to it, he was probably busy with his shooting. Or with whatever else he might be doing.
It's not a big deal, you're totally fine, he'll message you if he wants to, it's his loss if he doesn't.
Shayne felt like the day couldn't be longer, regretting leaving his phone at his desk throughout the shoot, desperately wanting to text you or call you, anything to make sure you were on the same page.
He couldn't stand seeing you like you were this morning, stuck inside your own head, seemingly weary about the situation. Shayne just wanted to make sure that nothing changes between you two over last night, not wanting to lose the little bit of you that you allow him to see.
He's been having a hard enough time with being your friend, he wasn't sure how bad he'd take it if he lost you entirely. Damien could tell something was off, Shayne was quiet after every shoot, barely doing more than reading the script.
Once they'd wrapped on the day, Damien had caught sight of Shayne quickly moving to wardrobe. He hadn't realized his friend quick on his heels until Damien had fallen into stride beside him.
"Shayne, why are we in such a hurry?" Damien asked as the two entered into the small room, grabbing their clothes to change into. Shayne quickly changed his shirt, thankful he wasn't in a full costume for the last shoot. Damien quickly changed after asking for Shayne to wait, surprised that he'd kept his Word.
"Im sorry, I just was in the middle of something this morning that I'd really like to get back to and finish up." Shayne tried his best to remain neutral, the irritation still evident on his face. know it's hard to talk, but so is hiding how you feel." Damien offered, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"Okay, yeah let's.. let's go talk.." Shayne mumbled, heading towards his friends desk, hesitantly passing his own, his phone sitting patiently in the drawer. The two settled into their respective seats, few people around them.
kay, Damien, I'm just gonna say everything as best as can and we'll go from there, okay?" Shayne looked worried as he spoke, rubbing his hands on his thighs as Damien nods, giving Shayne the open air.
"Okay, so, Y/N and have been texting for a while, chatting a bit whenever go in, and think really like her. She doesn't see me that way, which is fine and respect it, like, she made it clear. Like, her and I rode together last night, I picked her up from her place, we were texting earlier and she asked if I was offering a ride so l'd have someone hot to show up with, Shayne found himself rambling quietly, his eyes avoiding Damien's as he spoke but he still saw his friend nodding along.
"I told her no, we joked around a little bit. Then when I picked her up she asked if she was playing the role of a fake girlfriend, then told her no again, and she said she wanted to play the role of just my friend." Shayne couldn't help but sigh as your words ran through his mind yet again.
"But... but then I had a great time with her, I took her home and she showed me around, she wanted me to stay and watch a movie, so agreed to one. Then she wanted to cuddle, she kept telling me how to move so she could be comfortable, then she laid on me and she fell asleep, and guess did too." He trailed off chewing his lip.
"This morning, she woke up before me and she didn't say a word until after lan called me, all she did was tell me goodbye. I haven't talked to her at all, and now I'm freaking out that she's just worried it changed our friendship. And I kissed her head this morning, Damien, I don't think that helped me at all. I can lose everything, I just can't lose her, yanno?" Shayne felt like he'd run a marathon once he finished talking, out of breath from everything he had to say. When he finally meets his friends eyes, he finds Damien with a small smile on his face. Damien was excited to finally hear about Shayne's crush, to hear how nervous his friend was about his feelings.
"So you're assuming that she's upset about it? Did you talk much either?" Damien questioned, shrugging after Shayne solemnly shakes his head. "So you were nervous for the complete opposite reason that you're assuming she was nervous for?"
Shayne groaned, rubbing his face. He sat in silence for a few minutes, his mind rattled. "Okay, the issue still lies that there's something her and need to talk about, that is obvious, but feel like it's something that needs to happen in person, but don't know if she'd want to see me or."
"Okay, hold on. What if you just text her asking to come over, or invite her over for dinner or something? A way to show her that you care and want to make sure she knows it Damien argued, hoping that you two would quickly overcome whatever issue sat between you.
Shayne sat with his head in his hands, groaning softly as he thought it over, hoping for another option to pop into his mind.
"Yeah.. yeah guess that's worth a shot."
"hey, wanna come over for dinner tn? we're done shooting so it'd probably be in a couple hours, if you're down"
What the fuck? That's all you get? A part of you was angry with Shayne's first message to you, time stamped at 4:57PM.
Okay, he was busy at work, and maybe he wants to talk? That's what this was, that's all. You were going to ask what happened, he was going to tell you, damage control from there. It Would be fine.
"hey, yeah I'm down, send me your addy and see you in a bit "
You found yourself stressing as you dug through your closet in desperate search for anything that felt right to you. So far you'd narrowed down the jeans, ripped black denim, and were searching for a top. Eventually you setle on a cropped graphic tee, assuming that dinner as his place would be casual.
You were admittedly very nervous. You didn't want to assume the worst, but the thought that you could've done something to change Shayne's perception of you was scaring you.
You took your time with your hair and makeup, hoping to calm your nerves with the distractions before you drove to Shayne's apartment.
When you had finally found a parking spot, you exit your car to find Shayne smiling from his balcony, offering you a small wave before he headed inside.
You chuckled softly as you headed upstairs, finding him standing in his doorway, a smirk on your lips.
"Were you waiting on me? thought that was my job." You poke, laughing softly as Shayne steps aside, inviting you in. You slip off your shoes as you glance around his apartment, taking in his simple decor. "Don't worry, I won't give youa drunken tour." Shayne chuckles, winking at you before he heads into the kitchen. You tried to match his chuckle, an awkward feeling settling over you. Did you give him a tour of your apartment last night? Your bathroom was a disorganized mess and your room didn't look much better; you wanted to turn around and leave. You thought you two could talk and everything would be fine, but maybe acting like you two never met would be easier than this embarrassment.
Shayne stood at the stove, stirring a pot before he motioned you to sit at one of the barstools near him.
"Do you like spaghetti? I'm not a great cook, but make a very mediocre spaghetti." Shayne smiled as he faced you for a second before turning to grab plates.
"Spaghetti's good, very reliable dish so respect that move." You laughed, realizing that you two would talk when the time is right, enjoy whatever happens until then.
Shayne plated your dishes, offering you an array of drinks before moving to sit with you on the couch. The two of you settled in, eating quietly as some music played off of the TV.
After a few songs played, you set your plate on the coffee table, sitting back as you chewed your lip. You couldn't stop you mind from racing with the silence between the two of you.
"You okay?" Shayne asked softly, noticing your fidgeting, moving to set his plate next to yours. "Shayne, okay," you turn, spinning to face Shayne, your back against the armrest. As you open your mouth to speak, he copies you, mirroring your searing with raised brows.
"Okay, I want to say I'm sorry, I'm really sorry; want you to know that I'm so embarrassed about this but, I don't remember some of last night." You looked to him with worried eyes searching his face for any kind of emotion.
"Wait, what do you remember, then?" Shayne adjusted himself, sitting a bit upright. Every way he expected tonight to go just blew away in the wind, he never once thought that you didn't remember it.
You widened your eyes a bit as you read his tense body language, fearing you may have done exactly what you thought.
"I remember leaving the bar, I remember getting into the car, and I remember you asking me what thought about everyone; I have like fuzzy bits and pieces, like know you walked me upstairs and there was a movie playing. The next thing I remember was waking up in your arms." You couldn't help but chuckle a bit, hoping you'd feel weight off of your shoulders, but instead you just felt worse.
"Okay." Shayne said after a few beats of silence as he meets your eyes, your concern visible. "Do you want me to tell you what happened?" You nodded your head, fearing your voice might fail you at this point.
"We got to your apartment and wanted to walk you upstairs to make sure you got in okay, but you held my arm and invited me. You brought me around your apartment, showing me your room for a few seconds before you went to the couch. I said I was gonna leave, but we agreed to watch a movie, and we did." Shayne noticed how embarrassed you felt, leaving out a few details at the end to spare you at least a small amount of your dignity. You sighed deeply, shaking your head a bit.
"Shayne, why'd we wake up like that, though?" Everything felt right in Shayne's telling, but it felt like something was missing.
"Well, alright. You wanted to cuddle when sat with you, then you just told me how should sit, then you told me to lay down and you laid on me." Shayne smiled, biting back a nervous laugh.
You feel a giggle building as you watch Shayne cover his mouth. Quickly the two of you fall into laughter.
You had to laugh in disbelief at your actions, you were embarrassed, but no where near as badly as you thought you'd be. Shayne was laughing as he still wasn't over just how this played out, he never could've guessed you spent your day confused and probably anxious over the unknown.
Once you both had settled, taking deep breaths, you found yourself launching towards Shayne with open arms, pulling him into a hug.
"Thank you, Shayne. That's no where near as bad as thought it was going to be." You buried your face into his shoulder, his arms around your waist as your continued.
"I thought we had slept together or something."
Shayne tensed, his laughter faltering a bit at your words as he felt his body tense. After another squeeze, you pull away, sitting back as you had been previously.
"Tm not saying that like we would, yanno, sleep together, that's why I'm glad to know." You trailed off awkwardly, shaking your head as you smiled at Shayne.
He'd felt that pain of rejection in his chest again. You were that worried because you thought you'd slept together. You really, really didn't want him to think that you wanted that. But you did, and your eyes raking over his body was a giveaway in your mind, but was confusing in his mind. The two of you fell into a more comfortable silence, letting each other process their feelings. Shayne trying his best to ignore his pain as he offers you a soft smiling, asking about throwing on a movie. You both settle into the couch, a bit of deja vu hitting both of you, despite the gab betwe your bodies.
You find yourself initiating small touches with Shayne, your hand resting on his thigh each time you laugh at something, sitting closer when you return from the bathroom, leaning into his side.
Once Shayne places his arm over your shoulders, holding you close to him, he starts to think maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea. His mind starts to wander, thoughts of his nails digging gently into the soft skin of your hips, your nails dragging down his back, his lips leaving trails between your thighs.
"Did you hear me?" Shayne looks to you, brows furrowed as he shakes his head, willing to admit he'd been a bit distracted. said I'm probably gonna head home since the movies over" you nod toward the screen before leaning up, pressing you lips softly to his cheek before rising.
The two of you were in an awkward limbo of small touches and displays of affection, words left unspoken when fngers linger, or when hugs last a bit longer than needed. You hoped you left Shayne with the impression you wanted to; you liked Shayne's company and found him attractive, he could take that information and do what he pleases.
All Shayne was really left with as he watches your car pull out from the parking spot was confusion. He wanted to give you space, keep his distance so as to not scare you, but you just wanted to do the opposite.
He'll see you tomorrow and try to wrap his head around you, figure out what you want from him.
Maybe.

series masterlist
After a few days of small, normal interactions, Shayne stopping by in the morning and his day off, making small talk, and a few random texts, the two of you seemed to be back to normal.
You were so relieved when Shayne wandered into your shop the morning after movie night. Maybe you didn't fuck this up as much as your mind told you you had.
"hey, are you doing anything Friday? a bunch of people from work are out of town this weekend so don't think we're gonna do our normal night out."
There he was. That motherfucker.
You can't believe how quickly this man had flipped your world. You didn't even know each other a year ago, it was a happy accident that your paths crossed, now it seems like all you do is think about him.
You need to read the fine print the next time you sign up for a friendship if it's gonna come with hidden feelings.
Your brows raised as you eyes finally scanned the message. Was Shayne going to invite you out if their plans weren't going to continue as usual?
"Imao okay!! don't have anything planned that I know of?"
You sent back quickly, intrigued by his intentions.
Shayne grinned, nodding as he read your message.
He wanted to get to know you better; he wanted an opportunity to talk to you, he'd talk to you until the end of time if it was feasible.
Shayne had devised a plan, he wanted to cook a nice dinner for you two at his apartment, possibly watch another movie, since that seemed like it was becoming the thing for you two, and just be together.
"dinner at my place?"
That was casual enough, that was friendly. You both tried to convince yourselves that this was nothing more.
"what time? 😇"
Friday couldn't come fast enough. It feltlike everything took fifteen times longer than usual. You found yourself looking forward to the moment you'd find yourself standing at Shayne's doorstep.
Shayne found himself doing the same, getting questioned about his constant spacing out in shoots and meetings, his mind too busy racing around thoughts of you.
He sent you a text after he got out of his final meeting for the day on Friday, offering to pick you up once your shift was over.
Shayne parked along the side street beside your shop before heading inside. He let his eyes scan the dining area, catching you sat in a corner table near the front, a man sat across from you, a smile across his face.
Shayne found himself sizing the man up, this guy worked out, possibly even more than Shayne. He was probably taller, too.
You sat quietly, eyes on your phone as you waited patiently for your friend to arrive when a cough caught your attention, a small smile on your lips as you look up to a rather burley man. He sat quickly, introducing himself as he offered you his hand to shake.
You politely declined, a bit worried as you see him huff. You try to make it through the guy's attempt at casual small talk, biding your time until your knight in shining denim arrives to take you out of this awkward situation.
You told the man you were waiting for your boyfriend, trying to get the man to leave your table without any issues.
He insisted on waiting with you, but he looked pissed when your eyes met Shayne's. You waved him over, never so thankful to see him in your life.
You rose to your feet as he approached you, wrapping your arms around his shoulders as you stand on your toes, pulling him into a long hug.
"Hi, baby." You cooed, your heart fluttering as you smile brightly up at Shayne, letting your hand rest on his chest as you turn to face your company.
"This is him, this is my boyfriend, Shayne!" You introduced him to the man, suddenly the gears turning in Shayne's mind.
Your touch was surprising, but not unwanted by any means. Shayne found himself confused as hell until you had said that.
He'd been in this role for his other friends before; the fake boyfriend to save them from a creep.
Shayne gave a curt wave before letting his hand slide around your waist, giving you hip a gentle squeeze as he placed a kiss to your cheek.
Was he this good of an actor, or was he actually jealous? If you had been in the stranger's shoes, the daggers Shayne was glaring would've sent you running for the hills.
Shayne was going to sell the fuck out of this fake relationship, especially with how easily it was for him to fake it.
"Let's go, you've had a long day, babe." He left no room for argument as he guided you to the door, leaving the stranger sat alone at the table as the two of you head to his car.
You separated from his side as Shayne pulled your door open for you, the perfect opportunity to wrap you arms around his waist again, buring your face in his chest. You took a deep breath as he wrapped his arms around you, gently rubbing your back.
Shayne's grin matched your's as you stared up at him, a blush across you cheeks as you spoke.
"You're the fucking best, Shayne, thank you. owe you big time for that." You pressed another kiss to his cheek before getting into your seat. Shayne leaned in, arms resting on the doorframe as he chuckles.
"Don't worry about it. It's not my first faux boyfriend rodeo."
He rounded the car, chuckling as he joined you.
"Well, I can see why. You did amazing, I'm sorry if I ever doubted your acting skills, Shan-Ye."
Shayne rolled his eyes, telling you about a few of his smaller roles as you two drove to his apartment, enjoying in the fact that you didnt recall seeing any or his work before. It felt nice to feel unknown in that aspect sometimes.
Shayne played some music through a small speaker, the sound carrying softly around the open space of his living room and kitchen. You mixed the two of your some drinks to sip as he cooked.
You sat yourself on the edge of the furthest counter, giving him plenty of space to work while you watched over, a smile across your face.
Shayne convinced you to start talking about yourself, and he never wanted you to stop. You seemed so confident and sure in who you are that it amazed him.
He had to stop himself each time he realized he'd been staring, more focused on you than the meal he'd been preparing. Conversation toned down as everything was done, just needed time to bake.
As you food warmed, Shayne offered you a grin, tugging you from your spot. You pouted softly, setting you glass aside as he took both of your hands.
The two of you danced lazily around the kitchen, neither of you did well but that didn't matter. Shayne liked hearing you mutter an apology each time you stepped on his toes, the most faint blush appearing on your cheeks.
You grew closer as another song passed, resting your head on Shayne's chest, your arms around his shoulders and his around your waist as the two of you moved slowly to the melody. You only parted when Shayne's phone alarm went off, causing you to jump.
The two of you eventually moved to the couch, settling in with your respective bowls, noting that Shayne had given you the same one the last time you were over.
"Wanna make movie nights a thing?" You questioned before taking a bite, peering at Shayne over the edge of your bowl.
"Uh, yeah, I'm down." Shayne stiffed a bit, shifting in his seat as he placed his empty bowl onto the coffee table, opting for a sip of his drink.
"We can switch back and forth, yanno? Between my place and yours. I just really enjoy it, but we don't have to if you're not into it, we can do something else." You ramble on, biting your lip as you raised your brows at him.
Shayne shook his head softly, leaning forward as he placed his hand on your knee, giving you a gentle squeeze. Your eyes dart from his hands to his face, finding his blue eyes staring back at yours.
"Listen, I wanna spend time with you, think this is a great idea. I would shut up if it meant you'd talk forever; it's okay" He offered you a bright, warm smile as he reassured you. Shayne felt like he was going to throw up he was so nervous, but everything melted away the moment you launched yourself across the couch.
In an instant, you had positioned yourself in Shayne's lap, arms wrapped around him again. You hugged him tight to your chest, sitting ir the embrace fora few moments before you pulled back.
"You are the sweetest ever, Shayne. Thank you for being my best friend." You smiled, moving to grab your dishes before you headed toward the kitchen, leaving the man alone with his thoughts.
Best friend; he'd been promoted, but still wasn't the role he wanted to play in your life. Shayne wanted to hold your hand, twirl you around his kitchen, greet you with a kiss at work, drag you around his office, take you out on nice dates. He wanted everything he knew he couldn't have.
Eventually, in the late hours of the evening, Shayne dropped you off at your house, chatting before you got out of the car. "Oh, shit, yeah." Shayne was surprised when you brought up the upcoming Friday. "I'm gonna be out of town next weekend. Im flying back to Arizona for a week, one of my brothers is getting married."
Shayne's mind wandered a bit, entertaining the idea of inviting you as his plus one, the date to his brother's wedding, but opted not to. You were probably busy.
"Okay, yeah!" You tried to keep your energy up, but the thought of a week without Shayne did eat at you inside.
"I leave Thursday, but I'm gonna make a stop to tell you goodbye before leave." Shayne chuckled with a wink, unable to read your expression as he tried his best to gauge the situation. You smiled at him, but it didn't feel right.
"Do you work tomorrow?" Shayne sighed, biting his lip as you shook your head no. "Wanna come into the office with me for a little bit? Kimmy and I are working on a sketch and I think some new ears to test it on would be good. have to run it by a couple people, but it should be alright." He asked eagerly, desperate to spend as much time with you as possible, worried about how the time apart would effect the progress the two of you had made.
"Yeah, that sounds a lot more fun than doing chores like planned."
Holy fuck, holy shit, Shayne wanted you to come to work with him, he valued your opinion enough to want to show you his writing.
He'd mentioned his directing and writing a bit, knowing his face lit up when he talked about all the opportunities Smosh gave him. You parted ways, Shayne quickly texting Selina, lan and Kimmy, clearing the setup with them before he got home. He called you after he arrived, going over a few small details before promising to see each other soon. He drummed his fingers on his steering wheel as he parked outside of your building. He was gonna pass by anyways, that's why he offered to pick you up, not because he was dying to see you.
The two of you stopped for coffee before you arrive, quickly heading in.
Shayne leads you toward the conference room him and Kimmy had laid claim to earlier in the week.
He tried his best to prepare you for the bubbly personality of his producer, but you were still presently surprised by her. Kimmy greeted you with a bright smile and a warm hug, her and Shayne quickly delving into their script.
Eventually, after a few stop-ins from familiar faces that heard whispers of you being here, the three of you worked through the piece.
It was perfect; when they ran lines, you added in some additions and helped with tweaking a few acts. The final scene came to fruition in Shayne's mind, the thoughts easily translating to paper.
Shayne was so happy to have your help, a little permanent reminder that you were here, you were in his life. You might leave him one day, you might get a boyfriend and leave him in the dust, but he'll always have this.
These witty little lines you helped with, the ideas you had melded together with his, the memories of the time you two shared.
The trio of you went out to lunch together afterwards, dining at a small brunch spot nearby. Shayne felt his heart swell as he watched Kimmy and you interact, he knew you'd make quick friends.
The girls sat across from Shayne, rambling on and getting to know each other as he sat, silently observing.
Once you had wrapped up, parting ways with Shayne, Kimmy ran back over, placing a hand on your shoulder as he continued to his car. You came back with a grin across your face, pulling one from him as the two of you entered the car.
"Kimmy invited us over for a pool party tonight." Shayne couldn't hide the surprise on his face, concerning you a bit.
"What?"
"You can't tell Damien." Shayne quickly blurted out, laughing. "He always jokes about not getting invited to Kimmy's pool parties, and if he knew you got invited after you guys just met, he might be crushed."
You rolled your eyes, smacking his arm playfully.
"So pick you up around 6 and we can head over?" You questioned as you threw your bag Over your shoulder.
"Yes, okay, but seriously, don't text Damien." You laughed as you closed the door, shaking your head.
You tidied your place a bit before getting ready. You opted for removing your makeup rather than finding yourself looking like a raccoon in front of everyone.
You threw on an old bathing suit, feeling confident and comfortable with the way it fit your body. Something in your mind nagged at you, telling you to wear the most revealing piece you have.
You talked yourself down, throwing shorts and a thin tank top over your suit, mulling around your house to kill time.
"I'm nervous." You stated as Shayne laughed, shaking his head as the two of you drove. He'd already had to peel his eyes away from you, his vision filled with all the pieces of you he'd never seen before.
Your legs were exposed, the skin of your thighs looked smooth and soft as Shayne had thoughts of no longer keeping his hands to himself, wishing desperately that he was able to touch you how he wanted to.
"Don't be, you already know most of the people there, and they all like you. I promise, if it's too much then we can leave, it'll be okay." He stated, reaching across the center console to give your hand a squeeze as you parked in the driveway, already a bit packed with cars.
Shayne led the way through Kimmy's house, letting the two of you in before holding the backdoor open for you.
A small chorus of cheers erupted as you two walked out of the door, Courtney quickly jumping from her seat on a lounge chair to hug the both of you.
Small groups formed as more people arrive, but Shayne never found himself far from you. He sat beside you as you conversed with Spencer and Angela, your feet dipped into the pool, your shorts and top long discarded on a plastic seat.
Shayne understood the irony of "Adore You" playing on the speakers outside as he eyed you over, barely adding to the conversation as he found himself more focused on you. You were surprised to find yourself a lot less anxious than you had expected. You eventually joined the group of girls in the pool, with a bit o convincing from Ang and Kimmy. Spencer sat beside Shayne on the side of the pool still, cheering their cups of soda together as they say in silence. "You should go after her, yanno? don't think Ive ever seen you look at someone the way you look at her." Spencer spoke softly, nudging his friend to break his trance, Shayne's eyes glued to you, a smile on his lips. "We're just friends, that's all she wants to be." Shayne shrugged, refusing to meet his friend's eyes, afraid that his face would reveal his feelings.
"You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don't take or whatever it was that Michael Scott said, dude." Spencer rose from his seat, stretching a bit before he firmly pushed at Shayne's back, catching him off guard as Shayne fell into the pool with a splash.
Picture time came after your group was all soaked, making for terrible posts on Twitter and Instagram. You traded numbers and social media with a few people in the group, it finally clicking that Shayne's friends actually liked you.
The two of you ended up leaving later than most, getting lost in conversation with each other and Kimmy, her husband Shane joining your group later on.
Shayne took a moment to check his phone, his heart dropping as he scrolled through the pictures Courtney had posted, which include shot of your group from earlier sitting on the side of the pool.
Your backs were all to the camera as you sat between Ang and Shayne, your hand on his thigh as you all laughed at something Shayne had said.
Courtney tagged you, leading him to sigh in relief as he remembered your account was private.
He wanted you in his life, but he didn't want to burden you with the shitty side of being with an internet personality. His finger hovered over the comments, worried about if that photo was being talked about.
You pulled him from his trance as you offered him your hand, smiling down at him.
"Come on, Kimmy's kicking us out now." You laughed as Kimmy argued and continued to defend herself as she saw the two of you out.

this part isn't integral to the story but I thought it was a cute little interaction before the next part, where things begin to get hectic!! enjoy xx
series masterlist
Shayne had sat in the corner booth, tucked away with headphones on as he stared at his laptop screen.
He'd been working on a script for a bit You were quick to greet him, grinning across the counter at him. "What's up, Shan-ye?" You chuckled as his eyes rolled.
He might've been a little pissed when Damien had used the nickname in front of you, expecting you would adopt the nickname just like everyone else had.
"l'm disappointed in you, you're just like everyone else." Shayne laughed when your eyes widened, placing your hand over your heart.
"I'm so sorry, never do it again. Pinky promise!" You smiled brightly, proudly presenting your finger to him.
Shayne felt the blush crawling across his cheeks as he raises his hand, twisting your pinkies together quickly.
"Okay, now can I order?"
You quirked an eyebrow, Shayne's hands quickly going up in surrender as he chuckles. "Same one?" You questioned, a smile on your face as you rang the order in. Shayne nods sheepishly.
You quickly go through your favorite routine, doing this almost daily. You finish up with another smiley face on the lid, almost becoming a signature for you. Shayne looked confused, brows furrowed and head tilted, as he looked back at you.
"I didn't pay?" He was quick to question, missing the deep red your cheeks become as he searched his pockets for his wallet. He'd become accustomed to the fresh pastries you slip him, giving up on arguing with you over your generosity.
"No, it's a refill, Shayne."
"Oh," Shayne nods, stuffing his cash back into his pocket. "I didn't know you guys give free refills."
"We don't." You grinned, winking at him before you dart quickly into the back. You didn't alow any chance for him to argue or question you anymore.
You can't believe he caught you. Shayne almost lost it, he couldn't believe how fucking sweet you are. He wanted to skip to the part in his life where he'd wake up next to you every morning.
The man turned, heading back to his seat. He couldn't focus anymore, everything circled back to you.
Shayne slowly worked it out, convincing himself that this was just a friendly gesture.
That's all.
"Bye, Shayne!" You called as you passed his table, waving softly.
"Bye!" He mirrored you, sighing softly as you left. He was so fucked.

series masterlist
Shayne woke up much earlier than he planned to, so he found himself sat in silence at your shared dining table, staring at his mug of coffee. He unintentionally mirrored your actions in the exact moment that brought him to this point today.
The start of your relationship was a bit rocky, filled with pining and misunderstandings, but Shayne wouldn't change a thing about it.
Four and a half years, one shared apartment, and two cats later, everything felt right. Not perfect yet, but close. Your lives meshed together perfectly in every little way he never imagined it would.
You had similar food tastes, but neither of you liked the other person's favorite snacks or cereals, so no arguments about stealing. You like opposing chores, making it easily to share the weight. You showered at night, him in the morning. You liked the same books, so you shared your libraries now.
You'd been promoted recently, the position allowing a bit more flexibility with your schedule; so you and Shayne often woke up together in the morning and arrived around the same time at night.
The welcome addition of you to his friend group even meant that making plans was extremely easy. Shayne was also immensely thankful to have you with him at pretty much ever group outting.
He felt like you two knew every small thing about each other, so the secret he was keeping weighed heavy. For three months and twelve days he has been keeping the biggest secret from you, and everyone else.
The small velvet box sat in the bottom drawer of your dresser, stuffed between a pair of jeans that were actually too short for Shayne and a pair of Halloween themed sweatpants that matched a pair of your own. He could find it blindfolded at this point with how often he took it from it's spot, almost four times a day, contemplating when it would be the right time. It didn't feel right until earlier in the morning.
Just at 7:39AM, Shayne shot out of his sleep, his heart fluttering as he glanced over his shoulder, finding you softly snoring. His alarm hadn't gone off yet, the two of you didn't need to be up until around ten.
You had the day off and Shayne only had one shoot on his schedule, one you were going to be apart of.
You had been in a couple of shoots in the few years since your relationship had been known to the internet. Some fans had recognized you from the crew and casts personal accounts, especially Kimmy and Damien's.
You were very well received in your first appearance at Shayne's graduation, your speech bringing him and most of your friends to tears. After that you had been brought into an 'Eat It Or Yeet It" video, getting your first chance to witness your boyfriend's grave mouth first hand. After all of the love for you came in, you appeared on a Board AF' episode and began making memes for 'Who Meme'd It?'
You kept your privacy and boundaries still, your social medias were all still set to private, making it clear that you'd appear on occasions, but wouldn't join.
Shayne was fully supportive when you told him this after he mentioned the idea of you coming in for a video. You loved your job, having moved up into management of the shop, the promotion coming as a huge surprise to you, but not to Shayne.
Today you and Shayne were do on set at 2PM, shooting another TNTL episode, as per request of the other's lined up in the shoot. Damien and Courtney were quick to shoot Kimmy the idea, which wasn't hard to greenlight when the producer was your best friend. The easy part was over, convincing you was much more difficult. It tooka lot of coaxing from your friends, but Shayne remained neutral. It almost pissed you off that each time you asked him for advice on whether or not you should do it, he'd say it's up to you. Shayne couldn't help it, he still finds himself not wanting to push you too far, he still wants to protect you from anything he can. Most fans loved you, but what if it stops? He was still in shock of how much everyone seemed to like you. His heart couldn't help but flutter with pride and joy each time he read a comment that spoke highly of you.
It couldn't compare to the love Shayne has for you. He writes every small, tender thought he has about you down in his phone. He isn't sure when they started now, but it was definitely before you had started dating.
He started off using it to get things off of his chest, to write down the words of admiration that he wished he could tell you. Overtime it'd had begun to be every thought he'd had about you.
"I told the stars about you"
"you're the only one want to wake up next to"
"I wonder what goes through your mind when someone says my name"
Damien and Spencer have heard almost all of them, extremely supportive of him, always quick to call it sweet. That's then followed with different ways to call Shayne a simp. It turned into a joke between them, dubbing them Shayne's Simp Notes.
Gears were turning as Shayne shuffled from your bed quietly, grabbing his phone from the night stand before wandering into the living area, brewing coffee.
He took a deep breath, unlocking his phone as he finished replaying his morning in his head before noting the time. 8:17AM is when the perfect idea strikes, apparently.
Shayne was quick to open the notes app and begin writing out everything. He's loosely planned sketches for the show before but this was much bigger, he wrote out every detail to make sure it'd go right.
After about an hour of nonstop writing with Shayne's eyes glued to his screen, his coffee long gone cold, your yawn echos down the hall.
A smile stretches across his face as he finishes his last line, closing out of the app before setting his phone on the tabletop. You enter the room rubbing your eyes as yOu mile softly at Shayne. His ASU shirt covered your top half, an old pair of gym shorts covered your bottom.
Without a word, you made your way over to Shayne's lap, straddling him as you rest your head on his shoulder while he rubs your back gently.
The two of you tend to lay in bed together and cuddle if you're up before your alarms, enjoying the peace of being together before beginning your respective days. On the off days where that doesn't happen, you tend to make up for that lost time whenever you can, like right now.
"Ditch me on my day off, I see how it is." You chuckled as you sat up, rubbing your fingers lightly through Shayne's hair as he groaned playfully.
"I'm sorry, you're just dating an absolute genius, and I had a breakthrough, baby." Shayne laughed softly as you rolled your eyes; he moved to cup your cheeks pressing his lips to yours softly.
The two of you sat there for a bit longer, chatting until your alarms rang in your distant bedroom. You sullenly removed yourself from Shayne's lap, snagging his mug of coffee before disappearing down the same halway you'd wandered out of earlier.
"Ew, Shayne this is so old! How long have you been up?!" You shouted as your turned off the ringing, prompting a laugh from Shayne.
He makes sure to bring you a fresh mug, prepared just how you like as you're busy getting ready later. Your heart swelled at the small action.
It wasn't anything out of the ordinary from Shayne, he loved using small, subtle ways to show his affection. You always had fresh flowers from the very beginning of your relationship, sometimes you'd have more than one bouquet at a time. He's been a big fan of ordering things to you while he's away, off on shoots or even while hest at work.
He once ordered groceries to your apartment and video called you to cook together when he was on a trip to visit his parents.
You adored him so much. This relationship had far exceeded what you thought it could be, and you couldn't be happier. You're heart swells at just the thought of your boyfriend and everything he means to you.
The two of you arrived on set a bit early, giving you time to mingle with everyone. You were quick to dart from Shayne, heading toward Kimmy and Courtney across the room.
Shayne stood off to the side, staring at his phone screen once more. He felt like he was gonna scream, throw up, and cry all at once. He just needed to get through this. It's just an episode with his friends, he's gonna tell jokes and do his characters, his girlfriends gonna be there, it's gonna be amazing.
The box sat heavy on his thigh in the front pocket of his jeans, the outline barely concealed by the flannel he had buttoned over his white tee in an attempt to hide it.
Shayne eyed Kimmy, chewing his lip as she finally departed from her conversation with you. He was quick to grab her, requesting something weird of her. He needed you to go last, this wasn't something he wanted to have as the opening bit.
He kept the reasoning to himself, and Kimmy didn't seem too concerned about it so she happily agreed.
Once the others had arrived, Noah only setting the shoot back half an hour, they began rolling. You did great, getting Damien out quickly with an inside joke the three of you had shared after a trip to Universal one night.
Shayne was so nervous he found himself laughing his way through his joke, which eventually got Damien after it had become evident that Shayne wouldn't be able to stop his laughter.
His nerves had settled a bit, his arms wrapped around your shoulders, small kissed placed on your forehead between your bits, hidden by the divider.
You grinned as the end of the video neared, you being called to the yellow stool last. You filled your mouth with water and gave a thumbs up as you heard rustling from behind the divider.
"Okay, this isn't my turn but just wanna do this real quick" Shayne called out, peering around the corner as you shrugged.
After a few seconds, a toy crow flew over the clothing rack as Shayne belted out a purposefully bad impression of Train. You spewed instantly as cackling sounded from your boyfriend.
"I hate you!" You called out as you refilled your mouth, shaking your head.
"No, you don't." He called back, laughing.
The others' bits flew by as Shayne stood behind the divider, his wig and phone clutched tightly in his hands as he took deep breaths.
Shayne told you to close your eyes as he pulled on the curly, bob wig from a character of his.
You had a hate/love relationship of Shayne's simp character, Sir Phillip Simpne, so he felt it was right for this occasion. He had his phone hidden behind an open book as he moved to stand beside you on the stool. He cleared his throat, offering you a smile as your opened your eyes.
You groaned, keeping your mouth shut as you shook your head, determined to hold it over Shayne that he couldn't make you laugh with this bit.
"I haven't a poem for you today, m'lady," Shayne begun, trying his best not to laugh as you stared at him blankly. "I offer you something better. I bring love notes that I have written about the fair maiden before me today."
Shayne's palms felt sweaty as he looked down at his phone, deciding to drop the accent as he read to you, the giggles from others were silent to him.
"l'm gonna start from the beginning, kind of," He smiled, nodding as he looked up at you, removing the wig. "I wrote 'I never planned to like you this much and never planned to think about you this often' right before we started dating."
Shayne couldn't look at you as he felt tears prickle at his eyes, his throat running dry as he knew he'd run out of time.
Nobody in the room was counting anymore. Once Shayne had gotten more serious, the air in the room shifted and everyone grew quiet.
You sat in the chair, head tilted in confusion when Shayne had dropped the character, the game leaving your mind all together as you tried to process what was happening.
"Uh, 'I wonder if we ever think about each other at the same time.'" He kept his eyes on his phone, a bit scared to meet your eyes. You stared at him in perplexion.
"Okay, on my birthday I wrote 'of all the things my hands have held, the best by far is you', then the next day wrote 'there's been a place for you in my heart since we first met.'" Shayne sniffled, looking to you with teary eyes, chuckling a bit.
You took in his appearance with your brows furrowed, his cheeks were bright red, his blue eyes glistening.
"So, yeah, those are some of my Simp Notes." Shayne spoke softly as he caught sight of you laughing, some water dribbling from your lips.
You stood from the stool, taking a few steps away as you swallowed, wiping your mouth. You were still clueless as to what exactly was happening, but the name had caught you off guard and made you laugh.
Shayne felt like time slowed down, everything was going too perfectly as he removed the box from his pocket, your back still to him as you laughed.
He found himself grateful for your unwillingness to laugh at him, you allowed him to tell you some of the things he hadn't been able to before.
The energy had come back to the room, everyone laughing as soon as you broke, the assumptions previously made now leaving everyone's mind until Shayne drops to one knee.
A few gasps are heard as you turn back toward Shayne. small shriek leaves you as your eyes widden quickly at the sight.
You two had talked about marriage before, and you both wanted to get married, but you didn't expect this. Nothing could've given this away for you.
"I wanna spend the rest of my life making you laugh." Shayne chuckled as you laughed a rolled your eyes as the purposely bad joke.
"Y/N, will you marry me?" Shayne's voice barely audible, the crew further back hadn't even heard him ask.
"Yes, Shayne!" You squeal, your boyf- no.
Your fiance is quick to grab you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he lifts you up. The two of you are a mess of tears, smiles, sniffles, kisses, and whispers as the room is filled with cheers.
You and Shayne are quickly enveloped with loads of your friends, the shock and excitement evident throughout the room.
After a few minutes, Kimmy hugs you and Shayne tightly, congratulating the two of you continuously, quickly gasping as she looks up.
"I can't believe you didn't tell anyone!" Kimmy sniffles, smacking Shayne's chest lightly as he laughed. You looked to him with wide eyes, quickly looking to Damien in confusion as he shook his head.
"Yeah, I've had the ring for... uh, some time now" Shayne laughed, blushing brightly as you at him in awe. "I wanted to surprise you, and| wanted to have a bunch of people we care about with us to celebrate, it just felt right."
Shayne couldn't hide his embarrassment as you wrapped him into another hug, the two of you embracing each other for a few moments, happy tears falling from and for the couple.
"Oh my god, we're still doing a video, holy shit." She laughs, wiping her own tears as she quickly moved out of frame, the rest of the crew following suit. The cast quickly surrounded you once more, each with bright smiles and tear stained cheeks.
You sit back on the stool, grinning as Shayne stands beside you, his arm draped over your shoulders.
"Pst." Damien called loudly from Shayne's other side. "You should give her the ring, Shayne." He whisper-yelled, causing a fit of giggles to ripple through everyone, both you and Shayne blushing deeply.
He fumbles a bit as he opens it again, pulling the delicate, ornate ring from the box before sliding it on to your finger.
You pressed your hand on to your lap, grinning as you stared at the accessory that fit you perfectly in every way.
"I could not imagine being a comedian and having to go on after this guy." Spencer called from out of frame, causing Shayne to cackle.
You guys were quick to wrap up your outro, Shayne still wrapped around you the whole time, placing a kiss to your forehead as they called for a wrap on the shoot.
This was the perfect he was looking for.
