Shen Yuan is two things:

1) chronically ill

2) rich rich

He couldn’t count on both hands the number of health scares he’s had, but he fought years to move out of his parents house and live independently!

…. Until he was found half dead by his sister and nearly died in the hospital. No one even knew until she showed up.

The smart thing- the thing his parents want- would be to sell his apartment and move back in so his family can watch him. But frankly, Shen Yuan was reaching the end of his 20s. He didn’t want to be 30 in his parents home being scolded for buying yet another anime figurine and fussed over all hours of the day by nannies.

So, like the adults they were, they compromised. Shen Yuan could live independently IF he put together a complete staff of live in specialists to help him. He had a few months to do so, and all had to be thoroughly background checked.

Which is how he ended up with an old estate filled with specialists who all bore striking resemblances to the cast of Proud Immortal Demon Way.

(SY endears himself over the course of months to the entire modern cast of svsss and collects them to live with him and be generously financially supported. Additionally he finally tracks down the hack author of PIDW and keeps him as well, taking away the financial strain so PIDW can achieve its true potential as art.)

Happy belated Rakshabandhan to the ones who celebrate! (For the ones who don't know what it is, its a festival when sisters tie an ornamental band on brothers wrists in exchange for protection. Now it's symbolic and we tie the bands in exchange for gifts lmfao). I got a watch as a gift from my cousin brother!!! At the perfect time too, cause I forgot both my watches at home while coming back to uni.

My thesis work is finally moving a bit and it's equally daunting as is exciting. I'm looking forward to the coming year haha.

im still a tad bit worried that we're not actually a system and we've misinterpreted our symptoms to be something else than what they actually Are.

i do not doubt the trauma nor do i doubt the level of general dissociation and amnesia we have about our life before we were 13-14

but i'm a bit worried that we've misinterpreted the alters aspect

like i don't think i can say that we've misinterpreted a lot of symptoms just 'cause a lot of them are mostly trauma-based and we do have literal confirmation of that properly now.

but given that we don't switch often, have little to no communication. and mostly experience anything through passive influence

it's hard to not be a little skeptical

i feel like it’s been ages since we’ve talked 😞

Oh Honey, You’ll Change Your Mind is sort of a what-if and it’s like what if Logan’s funding fell through after Silverstone ‘22 where he gets a super license but his funding just goes *poof* and he has to step away from racing and sort of falls off the face of the earth

and oscar is about to start his first year of f1 and his team is sort of all over the place so he asks logan to be a personal assistant of sorts kind of like Charles’ friend (i can’t remember his name but love you king 🫶🏽)

and logan has been doing nothing—in the eyes of the racing world—for like half a year and lily lowkey is like “please join him, i need someone to keep him from losing his mind” and logan doesn’t really have anything to lose so he agrees and becomes Oscar’s personal assistant

the idea is pretty introspective about logan and his feelings regarding racing and how it was taken from him (i have it in my notes that it was williams decision to pull funding and leave logan out to dry) and when opportunities arise over potentially racing it terrifies him because of the chance of them—the teams, sponsors, anyone—taking his seat from him.

and then there was two paths basically where mclaren does some private testing (his parents pay the license renewal fee without him knowing) and he does well enough that they sign him on as a reserve driver and it works out since he’s always with oscar anyway

the second is that he declines any racing opportunities and instead helps build up Oscar’s career even though he sometimes aches to be in the car. This path is more technical and less stressful than actually racing and he sometimes feels that he settled for less.

the silly parts of the fic is logan messing around with the reserve drivers (arthur, fred, ollie and so on) and his relationship with Oscar and Lily is more of me, my boyfriend and my boyfriend’s boyfriend even though there’s no romance between Loscar

i think i did have him paired with both arthur and fred so there’s that
