so being critical of tae’s involvement of a show that’s not his, on top of how he went about it which was haphazardly executed, is anti behavior? it’s getting to be ridiculous the level of worship among stans to the point that not one slight critique of any member can be posted without that person being cast out. and this goes for any member of bts.

and it's getting to be ridiculous the way people excuse anti behavior under the guise of "slight critique" and disregard anyone who dares defend other members of bts, like being ot7/army is some dirty thing that renders one's opinions worthless.

you can lie to yourself all you want about how tae was only receiving some justified criticism, but don't come here expecting to force feed me that bullshit. as if there weren't people saying the nastiest things about tae a few weeks ago. or did you close your eyes every time you saw something about how he was nothing but an attention whore who forced jikook to let him be on the show because he hates the spotlight not being on him? about how bad it bothers him that jikook are close and that he wants to 'steal' jk's attention away? about how he is a terrible friend and person and jikook don't even want him around and [op/anon] can't stand him anymore? 🙄 maybe you also closed your eyes to the hate he got after he posted a photo with jk calling him pretty?

nobody in bts is beholden to how you think they should behave and operate. jm and jk were happy to have him there. deny that all you want, but they fucking love him and love being around him and even though he is the one who told them he wanted to go, they agreed to it and they clearly had fun with him. you can argue that it would have been kinder and more selfless to jikook and staff if tae were to have not joined, but bts' schedules are constantly packed and they were getting ready to spend 18 months apart in the military, so how about we cut tae some slack for wanting to spend some time with two of his best friends in a place he loves? 🤨

Can you give a breakdown of Tae’s voice. I’ve been trying to figure out why I’m not connecting with his singing. As I am not a singer myself, I may be incorrect in how to describe his singing. Am I wrong to say his singing is a bit monotone? And I love jazz but I just can’t connect with his singing. Can you explain to me because maybe I’m not listening to his singing correctly.

his voice sounds "incomplete" if i were to use a word. he has a deeper voice but a lot of the time his voice lacks the low tones that usually accompany his vocal type. in terms of instrumentals, when mixing a live band, you always want plenty of bass in your mix or else the music sounds flat and dull. tae's voice lacks that bass that should be there, so he sounds a bit monotone. with his general tone, you expect to hear some nice low tones in his voice, but they only appear at the end of his phrases, if at all.

the issue actually isn't the fact that his voice lacks low tones. jimin's voice also lacks low tones, but it works for him because his primary tone is higher. he thrives because he lacks low tones and it gives him his unique tone that we easily recognize. for taehyung, because his voice should naturally have deeper tones in it, we except to hear them and we dont.

this could be because of his technique or just his voice, but it could also be a studio issue where the producers are doing too much vocal processing on him and overcompressing his low tones. when he worked with min heejin for layover, his voice wasn't handled by the same producers and i actually think he sounds better in layover than he does in 95% of bts songs. i think the best example is rainy days, around 0:51 and 1:55

in that specific verse, you can actually hear his bass tones in his voice, so it sounds better.

as im writing this, im have to listen to his music to actually get a feel for what the issues could be and im noticing not only does he seem to sing high enough to get rid of those deep tones, but he also sings in a way that smooths his voice too much. a completely smooth voice can sound good in some songs with some voices, but in those rainy days verses, the natural buzziness of his voice comes out and he sounds great. he's singing a lot more intensely than normal. a lot of the time he plays it safe by softening his tone, which is what might be affecting his tone.

he also sounds fine when he sings in his upper-mid range with his chest voice. it's really that middle range that his voice gets funky in. he's too safe when it comes to singing and doesnt really want to push himself to sing in ways that might sound bad

I don't follow her. I hadn't even heard of her before yesterday, so I have no clue about her personal problems. However, I do not think there's an excuse for playing with fandom the way she did. Not only did she hold a possibly damaging pic over our heads yesterday, she also had that pic for years and held onto it while talking about fandom's reactions to it. It is manipulative behavior anon. There being a possible reason for her 'acting out' does not negate that her choices were wrong.

I feel sorry for whatever she might be going through, I hope fandom leaves her alone now, I imagine the hate is getting way out of proportion, but she also kinda dug this hole for herself.

right, so i read thorns, lust and glory recently and it's very into the importance of the french diplomatic connection/support as playing a role in the downfall of anne boleyn and something it brought up but didn't then zoom in on like i thought it would once i realised this thing, is that after the french have sent george boleyn home (so the boleyn faction was def in favour when he got sent, right?) and with the "nah we're not interested in elizabeth as a bride for our princes, but we'd take mary instead if you're up for that" what henry viii has just learned/finally accepted is that even if he has has a boy with AB (which to me seems likely, tbh - i think the tudor fertility issues are a wee bit overstated generally) that boy will not be univerally accepted as unambiguously legitimate.

consider: henry and anne have a boy, henry dies, boy succeeds... and then whoever married mary suddenly decides to press his own claim to the english throne (by right of his wife, obvs) pretty much like the english did to the french with the hundred years war. (ie a claim to the french throne dismissed by the french but that didn't stop the english repeatedly invading with it as an excuse.)

and he can't just remarry anne, since that would be an admission that the first marriage didn't count and the entire anglican church thing wasn't legit either. the aragon marriage makes the boleyn one bigamous, but will everyone overseas accept that dissolving the boleyn marriage (entirely outwith the catholic church, of course) would make the next marriage legally sound? or maybe more to the point, would any ambiguity there be used as an excuse to reject that one and all its offspring too? so anne has to die, at that point, right? there's no other way to resolve this, plus I do think henry had convinced himself this marriage was Cursed By God anyway, the only way for henry to be defintely beyond all argument free to marry again is for him to be a widower, by whatever means that requires D:

So I Married An Anti-Fan

I had started reading the webtoon then stopped. After a while of this series in my watchlist, I finally watched it. It is a nice series. It entertains. I like the characters and even though I know Jae Joon is not a saint I felt for his pain. Oh In Hyung at times really infuriated me because her decisions just caused pain to the two guys that cared about her.

Over all, it is a cute series to watch.
