Okay, this is gonna be a long one because I got a HELL of a lot to say on this matter;

It's a shame because nobody who has actually interacted with him has a bad word to say about him. The negative portrayal of him being peddled by 'notajikookers' here is a shipper/anti invention and doesn't line up with what people who actually know him or have met him say.

I know he's not flawless and people close to him will see him at his worst because none of us are perfect but everyone from his close social circle to his peers to random fan reports and encounters not only speak well of him but are VISIBLY and obviously fond of him, proud of him and endeared by him. (The proof is in the pudding even in official content but I guess we're supposed to believe that every single person he surrounds himself with is an Oscar worthy actor giving Oscar worthy performance 24/7 🙄)

And this has been the takeaway from people who met the group before they were even famous. One notorious story is of him meeting a granny before BTS even released their first song and she found him so polite and endearing that she supported the group long afterwards and even tried to get her grandsons into their music.

And those who have met him talk about him the same way she did. The takeaway from most people is that Taehyung is polite, funny and charming but we're supposed to entertain the opinions of people with UNs like jic_oo_k666 because they conveniently have a bad feeling about him while watching a BTS Run episode and these morons expect us to ignore the fact that this also conveniently validates and soothes their own ship insecurity and anxiety? 🙄

This is a guy who, as a kid and while experiencing the overwhelming pressure of global fame, praise, criticism and the stresses of overworking---suffered through a rally of traumatic losses, grief and experiences and the resulting impact on his mental health and STILL turned into a man that is perceived so positively and warmly by those who know him. That speaks volumes about his character.

Because at one point, it felt like every time we clicked a button we were hearing about another loss in Tae's life. Like he was going THROUGH it and still getting up and doing his job only to have certain 'fans' reward him with death threats, insults and taunts about his departed grandmother

Between shitty life circumstances, a shitty company and shitty 'fans'---there's enough there that could have broke him and turned him bitter but it speaks volumes about his personality that when the shit hit the fan, the people closest to him WANTED to gather around him, wanted to support him, wanted to comfort him, wanted to put a smile on his face, wanted to reinforce how much he was loved and how proud of him they were, they wanted to see him come out the other side. Why would they be so damn concerned and so clearly invested in him feeling better and trying to lift him up and build up his confidence if he was such a negative presence in their lives? Answer is; they wouldn't, dumbasses. Like the group litter the ground with context clues and these fools are too dumb, lazy or envious to bend to pick ONE up.

There was one episode (I think it was a Run episode but I might be wrong) where Taehyung really enjoys a rich, flavored meal so much he cant stop eating it and Hobi is inexplicably happy about it and excitedly lets the others know how much Tae likes it and Jin jumps on a promise to recreate it for him whenever he wants and this is just a throwaway part of the episode but it's significant because it was coming off the end of Tae's period of depression (that he has revealed himself so that's the only reason Im talking about it) and if you've ever had or known someone going through that shit, you know that physical and sensory numbness is a symptom of depression that can fuck with your appetite and enjoyment of things and it's usually a good sign of healing when you start enjoying simple stuff like flavors, scents etc again.

(Looking back at that moment after Tae had spoken openly about depression, it made a lot more sense why Hobi and Jin would react that way over something so simple as Taehyung enjoying a meal)

Like I just have no patience with people who question the bond between any of the guys because you can find so many of these 'side' moments, where it's clearly not scripted or intended to be part of the content, that show that these 7 men genuinely care about each other. They were so damn happy and excited to see him enjoying the taste of his meal and people STILL want to question whether the group relationship dynamic is real or not.

Another example is when they're rating themselves and their achievements for the year and Tae rates himself super low and Namjoon makes a point of boosting his confidence and cuddling him (for all you morons who want to talk shit about Joon disliking Tae like Joon hasn't done more than enough over the years to preemptively shut your asses up on that point)

Like you insecure ship heads really think it's cameramen giving Joon a countdown to fucking cuddle in that moment? 🤡 And that he's not just doing it because Tae is someone that he loves and doesn't want to see beating up on himself and thinks he's worthy of feeling better about himself?

People don't respond like that if the person in question is all of the negative things 'fans' accuse Tae of being---or any other member of being.

These haters and antis need to use their damn brain matter for once in a while.

The people who meet Taehyung like him and love him for a reason. The people on the damn street who meet him root for him for a reason. People who are at the top of their own professions and have their own stardom like him and love him for a reason. His group members want to protect him, defend him, care for him, comfort him, heal him etc for a reason and it's not because he's the horrible person that shippers and antis make him out to be.

Taehyung isn't your problem. The fact that you're parasocially invested in a ship that you don't genuinely feel is validated enough for you to believe in wholeheartedly is why you haters need to create a false personality for Taehyung to excuse all the things in your ship that YOU can't make sense of. You need someone to blame because your asses can't ship right ---because if you really believed in your ship you wouldn't have a problem with any of the other members 'getting in the way' by just being there and doing shit the group has done since day one

Learn to ship correctly and leave Taehyung TF alone, losers.

Okay, prepare yourself for some insane amount of psychoanalyzing.

Consider this situation. You and your siblings have a special bond because you were raised together but since you didn't chose each other there's no guarantee that your personalities are gonna match. Meanwhile, you may not have that unique bond and shared experience of growing up together with your friends but since you did chose your them they're gonna match you way better because your similarities and how well you get along are what made you friends in the first place. So what often ends up happening is that you love your siblings more but you prefer to spend time with your friends.

I think this is what we see with Taehyung. The members are like his siblings, he didn't chose them and it's clear they're very different people with clashing personalities and interests, but they have a unique bond because of everything they went through together. In comparison Taehyung's wooga friends don't have this shared experience with him but they seem to match him way better and they're the friends he actually chose to make, which is why he spends way more time with them then with the members.

When it comes to Jimin and Taehyung, they're like siblings, they love and care about each other but they clash too much to be best friends. And for all that they're almost the same age, the difference in their maturity means that Jimin is the older sibling who's responsibility it is to always give and allow more, to be the one to keep the relationship going and to avoid or solve any conflicts.

You can actually see this difference in this one scene in the behind the scene of AYS where Taehyung says he was hurt that Jimin didn't invite him. Initially that's sounds odd because Jungkook is right there too and yet Taehyung doesn't seem upset Jungkook didn't invite him either. And you would think Taehyung would be even more upset with Jungkook because in the months before this Taehyung was constantly including Jungkook in his hangouts and trips with his other friends. Taehyung invited Jungkook to that movie premiere of one of his friends, invited him to that Hawaii trip, invited him to a ski resort (even though he ended up leaving him behind and going back home with his friends), etc. But even though he did all this Jungkook couldn't be bothered to invite him to Jeju? And it's even worse when you consider the difference betweens these invites, because Taehyung didn't have to invite Jungkook to anything since those guys aren't Jungkook's friends but this Jeju trip is something Jungkook was doing with Jimin, their mutual friend, for a show they're going to release to armys, they're mutual fans, so they're way more reasons for Jungkook to include Taehyung. So why is Taehyung upset with Jimin but not Jungkook? Because Jimin is older sibling who Taehyung is used to being spoiled by while Jungkook is the baby of the group who's never the one responsible for anything and just waits for other to do everything. So Taehyung expects that Jimin will always reach out to him and include him in everything but he doesn't expect anything from Jungkook because their dynamic is the other way around where Taehyung is the one older one doing everything for Jungkook who's the younger.

And speaking of Jungkook, he has a similar younger sibling/older sibling dynamic with Jimin but it's even stronger because he's even younger. Jimin has always babied Jungkook a lot, him and the members have even joked multiple times that Jimin is like Jungkook's dad/mom because he's always talking care of him. And I think Jungkook got really used to this and to how much attention Jimin gives him. Jimin used to give all the attention in the world to Jungkook but in 2022 and parts of 2023 he was busy making his albums so for the first time ever he stopped giving Jungkook so much attention and I think Jungkook really felt that difference. That's why he seemed upset in that one car conversation in the first episode of AYS, he complained about them not seeing each other and tried to put equal blame on the both of them for not reaching out to each other until Jimin pointed out that he did reach out to Jungkook and that's why he traveled all the way to the US to record with him a show he admitted wouldn't have happened had it depended on Jungkook. That's also why he could stop mentioning Jimin all the time and asking for a live.

Jungkook has always been very dependent on the members because he got half raised by them and they babied him so much and he used to have them around all the time, so he never really learned how to be by himself and be independent. We all saw how not well he was doing in the beginning of 2023 because for the fisrt time in a decade he didn't have the members around or even any work to distract himself with, so he just did all those very long lives because armys were the only thing that was still the same.

But while the other members remained unavailable, Jimin eventually started giving Jungkook attention again once he wasn't as busy anymore. And Jimin has always been one of the members Jungkook relied on the most. Then they enlisted together and I think Jungkook's dependency on Jimin got even worse. When they were talking about their experience in military in that live after their discharge they tried to do a 'you relied on me then I relied on you' thing but when you actually think about it's not that equal. They said that in the beginning during the training period Jimin struggle and Jungkook helped him then after the training ended and they were assigned to their positions Jungkook started struggling while Jimin started doing well so things switched and Jimin was the one helping Jungkook. That's sound equal but it's not because the training period is only 5 weeks while the rest of the service is 17 months. So Jimin was relying on Jungkook for only a bit while Jungkook was relying on Jimin for so much longer. And Jungkook was relying only on Jimin because none of the other members were there.

So they had 18 months of just the two of them without any other member in a situation and environment that is quite difficult and it's known to bond people in a very strong way. So it's really no wonder that Jungkook can't seem to stay away from Jimin. I mean, did you see them in Jin's concert? He was following Jimin around like a kid following their parent, he would not leave him out of his sight. And even yesterday he was saying he wanted to have gone shopping with Jimin and Namjoon and today when Namjoon asked Jimin to drink with him Jungkook asked Jimin to wait and have a drink with him instead. I know armys like to joke about Jungkook being a minimoni hater but it gets to a point. And in this same live from today he was saying he needed to go take a shower and was ready to leave and let Namjoon and Taehyung do the live just the two of them but the minute Jimin appeared he forgot all about that and stayed for the rest of the live (he also kept asking Jimin if he had already showered which I'm going to take as just him being curious). And I'm not even going to say anything about his Edward ass behavior of going to Jimin's room and watching him sleep, let's just pretend like he doesn't already have a decade long history of going to Jimin's room all the time.

But really, they traveled 3 times in 2023, enlisted together for 18 months, possibly traveled to Japan a few weeks before discharged (still no confirmation on whether they really were together or just coincidentally wanted to travel to the same place at the same time), then the first thing they do after discharge is travel again for two weeks, then go to Jin's concert together, then travel to the US together. You would think they would have had enough of each other at this point and would prefer to spend more time with the other members they didn't see for 18 months and didn't travel with, but no, apparently not. I'm sorry, maybe I'm being harsh on them and specially on Jungkook but it's giving obssession. Like, I'm gonna need these two to spend at least a week away from each other, for their own sake.

I also think that their experience in the military might have made Jungkook mature a little and also start appreciating Jimin more because he has been nicer lately. He used to be such a brat to Jimin, and he did it on purpose. He loved teasing Jimin about everything, denying him everything he asked for and acting like he didn't care that much about him (while secretly going to Jimin's room at night and being so distraught over Jimin saying during a fight that he wasn't going to care for him anymore that he ran off in the rain, started crying and got lost). But he's not doing that anymore, now he looks like he actually likes Jimin and will even compliment him. Maybe it's just a phase and he'll go back to being a brat but a girl (who's a sucker for Jimin being loved and appreciated) can dream.

Anyway, obligatory disclaimer that I don't know any of these people and I'm probably completely wrong about everything, yada yada yada. Could I be normal and not psychoanalyze people I don't know? Yes, but what's the fun in that?

that chosen family/friends concept makes sense. if you think about it, it's not only tae who has one but the rest of the members too, including jimin. they aren't limited to having one set of friends anyway, but i see it more as a need especially for celebs like them. they need those friends outside of the group because they got to stay sane; anyone who is crazily famous as they are would want to escape or at least try to keep work out of their minds sometimes. they couldn't exactly do it when they're constantly with the other members bc any work-related topic could inevitably come up even when they're not meaning to, unless of course if they have a strict no-work-related-discussion policy. 😅

when it comes to jk's and jimin's dynamic, i could admit that they are close. jimin has basically adopted him and had taken him under his wings since they were younger. it's like an extrovert adopting an introvert. jimin (and the other members) also have a soft spot for jk—that's the maknae privilege for you—which does have its positive and negative sides.

they're also one of the pairs in the group who have a deeper love for the stage, but like with tae, i think they aren't always at the same wavelength. jk seems to also take more from jimin, and like you pointed out, it continued even in the military. now that they're basically cooped up in their music camp, i bet that that attachment will just worsen. but they're grown men and jimin knows his friendships better than anyone, so i'm confident that they could sort out anything unhealthy that could come out of that attachment.
