im thinking about Imay relationships with Aster and Raine. She was sent to live with them by Akila as a way to further her studies of Neautra, as Aster is one of the most powerful mages in the mortal realm (and Akila was frankly tired of looking after her niece so trow the burden to someone else) and Imay HATES it.
Aster at least is easy to hate, hes abrasive, strict and snobish, its easy to dislike and resent this overglorifed shut in. But Raine is a diferent story. Raine is nice, she doesnt care that Imay treats her like ass like she does to everybody, she genuely cares for Imay, does things for her whitout Imay asking, brings Imay to help with her garden or play with Amalla, offers to help Imay look after herself, fix her hair, find nice clothes.
And Imay feels conflicted, its the first time in years someone has been genuely nice to her, looking after her, it reminds her so much of when she had a family that she ends up resenting Raine more than Aster for being annoying.
#Raine sees this rat girl asks if anyone is going to adopt her and not wait for an answer#Will Imay learn to accept the love she has been denied for so many years or will she forsake everything to keep the ''love'' of her aunt#find out in the next Tanza infodump#or dont im not sure myself what would be cooler#bcs i love the family vibes#but also#making imay miserable<<<<<<<#Tanza#Imay#Raine

For the ask game, 1, 4, and 9!
that makes me smile
I'm ridiculously fond of the style in "A Wise Pair of Fools", especially the bits where the narrators talk directly to the reader.
Like Faith's astonishment at her listener's ignorance.
But I won’t bore you with that story again— You don’t know that one either? Where have you been hiding yourself?
And Alistair's surly yet genial old-married-man routine.
That woman! It’s just like her! She thinks I have nothing better to do than sit around all day and gossip about our courtship! Where are you going? I never said I wouldn’t tell the story! Honestly, does no one have brains these days? Sit down!
4. with dialogue i’m proud of
A horrifying revelation is dawning on me--I'm not sure I write much good dialogue. I had always considered it one of my strengths, but most of my favorite dialogue scenes are my favorite because of the circumstances, not just the words spoken, and they often involve one character dominating the conversation rather than a good back-and-forth between two strong characters.
One of the few exceptions is "Fable". David and Elowen have some conversations where they both hold their own.
He felt like he’d been hit in the face with a plank. “Have you…given up?” She answered with the hint of a smile. “Merely acknowledging that if stubbornness were a weapon, you could defeat both armies single-handedly.” He relaxed into a laugh. “I have a strange resistance to foolhardy plans.” “So says the greatest fool in two worlds.” That stung a bit. His reply was sharp. “Forgive me if I don’t believe we should save Fable by dragging her into two wars.” She looked into her tea. “Forgive me, majesty. I misspoke.” She lifted her head, and met his eyes with a fire in her that he hadn’t seen since she was a seventeen-year-old sitting in his bushes. “You are a fool and a coward.” “Have we switched to the ‘insult the king until he complies’ strategy? I’ll admit that’s new.” Her eyes flashed. “I come to you on my knees, day after day, begging you to save your people, and you refuse to stir from your comfortable home. You prefer to live as another man’s slave than as king of a free people.”
9. with characters i love
My Arateph stories are the other main source of good dialogue scenes, because I have several decently-developed characters.
Because I can, and because I've never mentioned this story before, I'll share one of my favorite Tanza and Auren conversations from my first attempt at writing a sequel to "Out of the Tomb", where Tanza is accompanying Auren to a (human) government event held at a historic tephan palace.
As Auren led Tanza into the palace, her ridiculously high-heeled shoes shot pain through her legs and brought her back to reality. The noise, the heat—the false, conniving people. All things that had never entered her childhood daydreams of fairy tale grandeur, but remained inescapable parts of Coalition political functions. Tanza gritted her teeth and growled through a false smile, “Remind me why I come to these things?” Auren smiled and patted her hand. “Because you care about my emotional well-being.” He smiled and nodded at a human Coalition representative, the automatic gesture of a born-and-raised prince. Tanza tried to imitate it, but the expression hung on her like a crude paper mask, so she returned to her usual strategy of avoiding eye contact. As they crossed the palace threshold and escaped the worst of the crowd, Tanza said, “I have a thousand other things I could be doing. Instead, I let you convince me to stuff myself into a dress I can barely breathe in and wear shoes designed to break my neck so I can smile to cameras and chat nicely with people who I’d rather shove into a deathtail nest.” “You always enjoy yourself in the end.” “I like the food,” Tanza grumbled. “If it weren’t for the food, you wouldn’t get me within shouting distance of this place.”

Standing at the Crossroads
Her name is Haylee.
We first met during my job orientation two years ago and she caught my eye immediately. But having internalized the wise wariness about not mixing dating and work, I admired from afar only. This past fall, I felt ready to test the waters; no bite. Then just before Christmas, a mutual friend invited me to their table for the holiday staff luncheon. Haylee let it drop she was single; since it was the second time she'd done so (and alluded to the last), I sensed the feelings had become mutual. Her sudden appearance where she knew I'd be only affirmed it.
I turned her down; the reason was simple: by the time she'd upped her signals, I had already begun pursuing someone else.
When I returned from Chicago, my best friend knew the trip had been a let down in what mattered most to me. Valerie had said she didn't return my feelings; Tanza sought to set me up with her friend. Agnes is recently divorced; Tanza felt I deserved someone like her but at the same time, she didn't want to box me in. She assumed I'd want some space to mull things over, but to let her know if I was in fact interested.
I never replied, but silence offers its own answer. Valerie soon sent signals of her own, so I declined a girl for the second time by default.
Two months later, the situationship remains, a Schroedinger's dating dilemma. We talk but don't communicate. Any acknowledgment of actual feelings is actively avoided. And the unavoidable conclusion: I named this girl Valerie in part because the last situationship I endured involved the original one herself. That lasted about 7 months (November 25, 2009 - July 5, 2010). Pushed past its expiration date, it wrecked me emotionally, such that I benched myself for the better part of a decade. Valerie taught me many lessons, most of all nobody can truly love another if they don't love themselves. I had begun to reconcile myself to that truth; Valerie sadly hadn't. She had to endure her own self-sabotaging patterns through at least three guys after me before she finally began the healing process she needed. I stopped seeing her as an ex; I've let go of what she did to me. I remember only what I did to her.
So where does that leave things with the new Valerie?
My feelings remain, in spite of everything I've faced, an unbreakable bond. But since communication is the lifeblood of any relationship, its absence becomes the death knell. All but one friend discouraged any further pursuit before last week. The same friend who's been her greatest advocate now stated plainly: "You deserve someone real. Who doesn't play games." (This even after I deliberately withheld sharing March 14. Twice.)
The last undeniable domino's fallen now.
As such, I'm left with an inescapable, ineluctable reality: I've had options and been too selective. The status quo simply cannot continue as is. I've never dumped anyone before; I doubt she thinks I'd even consider it. But if she can't directly discuss simple, small things, the big ones will never get addressed. What is the right call to make?
I've told her what she needs to hear; I now await her answer.
#No more road to kick the can down#Out of runway (and the pilot's inclined to take off)#Readying regrettably to explore other options#No plans to check her blog (or any of her sites)#Those don't count as “communication”

OC Question time, if you feel up to it and to whatever caliber that means!
Which of your kiddos is more of a homebody? Who likes to stay in comfort and security the most? Do they get defensive if someone tries to get them to leave?
-uselessidiotsquad-
Hey! Thanks for the question, and I’m up for answering things now, so here you go @uselessidiotsquad! :)
Hmm, the closest thing to a homebody out of all of them would be Tanza, probably! She’s had the most comfortable home life by far, so she’d be the most likely to want to stay. But they also probably wouldn’t get too defensive if someone asked them to leave when they were safe, unless someone really pushed it at a time when they vehemently disagreed (like immediately post-Icebrood, maybe).
#gw2#tanza mjallkin#uselessidiotsquad#sorry this is kinda a short answer!#but thanks for the ask! :)#none of my kiddos are very settled asdfs;df

(Fan)fic asks for any of your Arateph works: 4, 9, 14
I'll answer for "Out of the Tomb", since those answers come most easily.
4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
Auren lamenting that Tanza has chosen the name Arthur as his alias.
"It's the name of a beast," he said in a voice that could have killed plants. "How savage is Earth that you name your children after beasts?"
(Okay, actually, my favorite line might be Auren's follow-up to this, which is lamenting that a bear is "A brushbeast with legs!")
It was so fun that my King Arthur allusions and the tephan obsession with the meanings of names could collide to create this joke. (And I get endless joy out of imagining the legless bears that apparently flop their way across the tephan forests.)
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
There are few ways to answer that question. There were alternate Sleeping Beauty retellings that I tried to write for that event. I wrote scenes for two. The first involved Sleeping Beauty going on adventures in a flying airship because the "killed by a spindle" curse means that she's immune to all other dangers. The second was about a time-travel researcher who had a timey-wimey relationship with a girl a century in the past, and then had to find a way to save her (and their twin children) when she was killed by another time traveler who thought his marriage would destroy history.
There were alternate paths that this story took before I finished the first draft. The original idea was that Auren and Tanza would be married (or at least an established romantic couple) by the end of the story, but that never came to fruition. My first attempt at the first draft involved Tanza and Auren starting their journey by taking the train and Tanza having no ulterior motive, but when that hit a dead-end, I switched it to Tanza and Auren taking the car and Tanza having to hide her criminal activity during the trip.
And since I've written the story, I've imagined AU versions of it. I've considered what might have happened if the revolution had failed and Auren had become king. (His father's death is very emotional. And I have an idea of who he might have ended up marrying.) I've also considered a role-swap AU, where Tanza was the lost princess (in this case, one who was spoiled and self-centered) who looked down upon poor commoner Auren who found her. And I've imagined a follow-up taking place in a world where time travel exists, so Tanza somehow gets the chance to meet Auren's parents. (Meeting the king blows her mind, because she has no experience with tephans who are in positions of power, and Jemrauth is one who has ruled the entire known universe for decades.) But these are just fun imaginative exercises.
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
I just really wanted to emphasize the idea of mercy, that it's never too late to change your ways. And emphasize that even "foolish" idealism is worth pursuing in a world full of harsh realities.

The Adventures Of Miitopia: Christmas⛄❄ Event Day
[Chapter 1: An unexpected Reunion]
Along with Happy Jolly day in the Land of Miitopia, many people are selling some Grateful Christmas day. A young Boy, Goob, shares some Special Gifts to all the people around at Greenhorne.
"Here you go, ma'am. One special gift!", as he gives Cheery granny a gift Happily.
"Oh thank you, young one. Oh! And also, here is yours as well.", said Cheery Granny, giving him sweet food.
"Why, Thank you ma'am and Merry Christmas!!"
"You too, my dear."
As Goob rides on a bicycle goes back to the Inn. He brought so many gifts from people who gave him.
"Hey guys, I'm back!" As Goob opens the door wide.
"Heya, Kid! Finishing those schedules?"said Mad rabbid.
"Yup! All of these gifts from People have many of them, and even these foods from Ms. Clara."
"Well, We could put these into our Dinner tonight, Right Kid??"
As Goob giggled and asked,"Heh, yeah. Anyway, how's the others doing?"
Mad answered,"Well as you can see, Oozer and Zak sending some donation with old stuffs, The big Guys getting a tree I could I guess, and Zoe is-"
"Still in the kitchen.." As Zoe said from the Kitchen.
"Oh, ok that shou- wait, there is one missing…",said Goob as he thinks where's the last one.
But suddenly it came out of nowhere right behind him and said,
"SURPRISE ATTACK!!" It was Vanellope this all along.
"WAH!!-" as Goob Surprised and gets bumped together. Both laughed at each other and Mad rabbid happy about these kids. Then, one of the group of others came into the Inn this time. Hammer brought a gift, but it's a secret.
"Heya, we're back!" Said Hammer.
Goob asked,"Oh, hey Hammer. How's everyone doing?"
"Pretty fine to us." Said Oozer
"But where's Slinker by the way?"
Goob answered,"Oh, he must be in the room. But don't worry, I'll go check on him."
As he goes upstairs, Goob opens a bit as he hears Slinker say what he's up to as he looks at the necklace. Slinker seems a bit off as he sighs.
".. I know I may have gone too far. But I could still live from a light. Oh father, what should I do without you.."
Goob knocks the door and opens,"Umm, Slinker.. is everything ok with you?"
"O-oh! Goob, sorry I was having a bit of a break. Please, feel free to say anything about it.",as Slinker slightly smiles as joy.
"Well, I would think of it too much that I have a question to ask. Are your parents still.. alive??"
Slinker was surprised and said,"Well… yes but, only my mother lives. As my father is still inside me, I couldn't stop thinking about him. It's more like people thinking I look like him.."
"I see..", said Goob
"Speaking of Jolly, I think what Tanza said was that we had a visitor that came to us."
"A Visitor?"
"Yeah! So, how about we take some nice treats downstairs. Would that be okay for you?", as Goob asks him.
Slinker has well-happy for him, "heh, okay. I'll come down for you, Goob."
As they both go downstairs and see some tasty food. All of the group are having a chat and getting chillin' around. As Goob has announced he said,
"Alright, everyone! Today in this Winter, we had a visitor come into this Land of Miitopia."
Zak asked,"Wait, they will came here no-", as he got slam by a someone who's opens a door and said,
"Oh there she is!" said Goob.
As the looking old Lady with the staff has come to the inns happily. Then, Slinker was shocked that he recognized her.
"Well hello, young people! I am glad to be here as a new Visitor!! My name is Montana, call me Moona.", as she's excited to meet the group. Suddenly Tanzanite came in.
"Oh, hey Tanza! You brought her here, right?", Goob asked.
Tanza answered,"Well, of course. As a reminder, she's actually Me & Slinker's Mother."
Everyone was shocked except Slinker and said, "MOTHER!?!"
"Oh! You all didn't know about me, aren't you??", as Moona was confused about it.
Mad rabbid was going to say,"WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, Hold on! So you're Moona and-", he's pointing at Slinker & Tanza.
"One of these are your- SONS?!??"
"I am literally freaked out for this.", said Zak.
"Well, of course. And I thought, what I see is a young boy over here…", as she looked at Goob.
"you're Goob, right??"
as Goob answered,"Yup! That's me."
"Oooh, You are such a handsome little boy. My son told everything about you.", said Moona.
"Oh really?? That's cool! Besides, I have several questions between you and your sons. It's getting me confused somehow."
"Same, kid. Same.", said Mad rabbid stares in confusion.

TANZAAAA THANK YOU HOLY CRAP THESE PAST PAGES WERE ROUGH also why is there electricity on Eckhart's body?
Mod Omni: Gotta Stanza with Tanza!
To answer your question, Eckhart starts sparking like this when he’s getting unstable or using his powers. I know I would start sparking too if a had an overabundance of gem power and didn’t know what to do with it!
Eckhart bottles up way too much.

Womanlalaboy's Travel Guide to Batulao

SUMMARY
Elevation: 811+ MASL Jump- off: Evercrest Golf Course, Nasugbu Days / hours to summit: 1 day / 2-4 hours Climb: Minor Difficulty: 4/9 Trail class: 3 with 60-70 degrees assault Features: Open trails, rolling slopes, scenic views of Batangas
Type of Travel: DIY Date of Travel: most recent is Feb. 2019 Duration: 1D Budget: P 600 - P 700
Batangas sure is rich in natural treasures- from beaches to waterfalls to history and culture, and to mountains that are clamored about by most climbing enthusiasts. A day or two wouldn’t be enough to sample everything Batangas has to offer, but climbing Batulao can somehow give you a glimpse of what paradise is.

Batulao is my first official climb, but we were welcomed by a typhoon during our first time hiking, so we vowed to come back on a sunny day and witness the majestic views of Batangas landscape. Our most recent climb was Feb. this year during the long weekends. There were over a thousand climbers that time and we’ve watched how the paths crumble with every step. It was concerning to see that much people in a hike that’s supposed to give you a moment to breathe and contemplate life. I’ll publish a separate write up for the environmental impact of over- commercializing places like Batulao. For now, we’ll focus on how you can get around hiking this beautiful mountain, but please to avoid doing your hike on weekends and during holidays.
ITINERARY
5:30 AM - Meet up at Pala-pala terminal 7:45 AM - ETA Evercrest 8:00 AM - ETA trail head 8:30 AM - Start Trek 11:00 AM - Summit 12:00 PM - Start Descent 2:00 PM - ETA trail head. Lunch 5:00 PM - ETA Pala-pala terminal 6:00 PM - Imus
From Manila, it will only take about 3-4 hours to reach Batangas and you wouldn’t need to transfer from one bus to another so basically, it’s not that hard to get to Batulao and you wouldn’t need to worry so much about the travel time unless it’s around holidays and long weekends. If you will do a DIY hike, you’ll have to endure the Manila traffic. Since buses will have to take E. Aguinaldo Highway, you’ll have to pass through traffic prone areas like Bacoor, Dasmariñas and Tagaytay. It’s still best to allow an allowance of another hour for this case.

HOW TO GET THERE
Commute from Manila: Board any bus bus liners bound for Nasugbu, Batangas from EDSA, Quezon City, Taft Avenue, Pasay and in Cubao. Drop off at Evercrest Golf Course and ride a tricycle or walk to get to the trail head. DLTB bus bound for Nasugbu in Buendia Station costs around P 111.
Commute from Bacoor or Imus, Cavite: Ride any bus bound for Nasugbu, Batangas. The bus liners are usually found along Emilio Aguinaldo High way from Waltermart Dasmariñas as well as from Silang. You can also ride a van from Pala-pala Terminal.
You can simply tell the bus driver or conductor to drop you off at Evercrest or just inform them that you’re off to Batulao. From Evercrest, you can either walk your way to the trail head or hail a tricycle for P 100 per way (good for 4 pax).
Private car via Emilio Aguinaldo High way: You will have to pass through Imus, Dasmariñas, and Silang. Simply continue til you reach Batangas-Cavite boundary. Take the road marked by an arc, leading to Nasugbu, Batangas
Private car via SLEX: take Sta. Rosa Exit and continue driving along Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road. When you hit a fork, you’ve reached the Batangas-Cavite boundary. Take the right road marked by an arc, leading to Nasugbu, Batangas.
Private car via CAVITEX: Drive along Antero Soriano Highway. You will pass through Kawit, Tanza, Naic, and Ternate then drive through Mt. Palay Palay National Park and Kaibiang Tunnel to reach Barangay Papaya and then Barangay Calayo and Nasugbu town proper.
Private car from Alabang: Take Daang Hari, turn left to Paliparan, right to the junction leading to Carmona, left to Aguinaldo Highway up to Tagaytay junction leading to Nasugbu. Another option is to Take Daang Hari, continue on Daang Hari extension past the dikes, turn left at the end and go towards the San Miguel and Purefoods plants along Governors Drive. Turn right when you reach Governors Drive and continue until you reach Naic, then turn left and on to Puerto Azul, Caylabne.

OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST
Some experienced climbers do more than just hiking Batulao. Batangas is rich in mountains to climb, so some hike one or two other mountains apart from Batulao. 3 of the nearest mountains that can be a part of a probable twin hike or trilogy hike are Mt. Talamitam, Mt. Apayang and Mt. Pico De Loro.
Mt. Talamitam
Jump-off point: Sitio Bayabasan, Brgy. Aga, Nasugbu (KM. 83) LLA: 14.1158° N; 120.7577° N; 630 MASL Days required/ Hours to summit: 1 day / 1.5-2.2 hours Specs: Minor climb, Difficulty 3/9, Trail class 1-3 with steep assault (100m)
Layon Bilog / Layong Bato
This area can be found at the foot of Mt. Talamitam (considered as Mt. Batulao’s “little sister”). You can wash up by the river or do rappelling, but whichever you prefer to do, you’ll surely enjoy this sight.
Mt. Apayang
Mataas na Pulo, Nasugbu, Batangas 700+ MASL (Approximate) Specs: Minor Climb
Mt. Pico De Loro
Maragondon, Cavite and Nasugbu, Batangas Major jump-off: DENR Station, Magnetic Hill, Ternate, Cavite Minor jump-off: Sitio Fronda, Brgy. Papaya, Ternate-Nasugbu Highway, Nasugbu, Batangas LLA: 14° 12.855 N; 120° 38.785 E; 664 MASL Days required / Hours to summit: 1-2 days / 2-5 hours Specs: Minor climb, Difficulty 3/9, Trail class 1-3 Features: Distinctive spire at the summit, forests, scenic views of Cavite Last updated: September 16, 2016

SAMPLE BUDGET
138 - Bus transportation from Pala-pala to Nasugbu and vice versa 50 - Tricycle fare back and forth (P 100 for 4 pax) 160 - Registration 100 - Guide fee per head for 5 pax (500 / guide) 50 - Batangas Lomi
___________________________________
498/head of 5 pax
Batulao is one of the most accessible mountains to hike. Due to its proximity to the metro, it’s considered a favorite among city folks who want to escape the gritty streets of Manila, but despite its fame, Batulao still is far from being perfect. For one, the water is scarce in the place and during peak season, they usually run out of water. We’ve encountered that during our last hike so instead of taking a bath, we settled to washing with wet towels before changing clothes. The bath fee at the trail head would cost P 25 per pail (timba/balde). If you need to take a piss or answer nature’s call, you’d have to pay P 10.
Another thing to take into consideration is the registration fee. Unlike most climbs, the registration for Batulao would have to take at several occasions. P 30/head (1st Registration); P 30/head (2nd Registration); P 20/head (3rd Registration); P 20/head (4th Registration); P 20/head (5th Registration); P 20/head (6th Registration); P 20/head (7th Registration).
There are refreshments and meals available at the stops and camps, but I advise that we do not patronize these. With the increasing demand for convenient food and drinks, we also raise the environmental impact of consuming these goods. The same goes for souvenirs such as bag tags. In the next few years, it wouldn’t be as fun and as magical to climb Batulao if instead of being accompanied by luscious green trees and plants, we’ll be trekking a mountain of trash.

WHAT TO BRING
Packed lunch (advised)
Med Kit/ Personal medicines
Raincoat when necessary
Extra clothes
At least 2 liters of water
Whistle
Trash Bag
Toiletries (esp. alcohol)
Trail food (energy bars, peanuts, chocolates, banana, salt)
Sunblock
Cap
Headlamp when necessary
Gloves (not required)
Trekking pole (advised when it’s raining)
Handkerchief / scarf (advised)
NOTES
No reservation is required to climb Mt. Batulao.
A large number of tourists swarm the place during weekends especially during long weekends or holidays. Avoid doing the hike during those days.
Sun exposure is notoriously acute when dry. Apply plentiful of sunblock whenever needed.
You’ll have to pass through tall grass lands so it’s better to be well-covered to avoid cuts and skin irritation.
While hiking, wear quick dry clothes and stay away from cotton fabrics and denim pants since you will be sweating profusely during the climb.
Wear a pair of hiking shoes when you climb Batulao during rainy days. The mountain can be very muddy, and hiking sandals can be hard to deal with at times like this.
Guides are required to hike Batulao with a ratio of 1 guide to 7 hikers.
There are 2 trails to choose from (old and new). However, you can talk to your guide to see if you can hike half with each trail.
If you want to stay overnight, you can pitch your tent at the designated camping sites. The guide fee, though would be P 1000 for an overnight stay. Tent rentals are also available at the registration area, but if you want to help lessen our environmental impact, opt to do a day hike instead.
Shower rooms are available at certain camps as well as at the trail head.
Water is scarce in the area so they require a fee whenever you use their toilet. At the registration area, you can take a bath for P 25/pail (timba/balde), and you can use their toilet for P 10.
Refreshments are available at stops and camps, but to avoid our environmental impact, it’s best to avoid those.
LEAVE NO TRACE (LNT): Kill nothing but time, take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.

MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Have you ever wondered what life is like for someone like me? Mabuhay! I am J.V. M. Serzo, a 17-year-old man from Tanza, Cavite. A Filipino, a child, a Leo, an honor student, a journalist, a leader, a humanista, and a son of God. I was born on the 25th of July 2005 at Fabella Hospital in Manila. Many people always asked me if my first name is just a two-letter name and I always answered "Yes". They were often shocked about it and teased me that my parents want me to be at ease especially when my teachers ask their students to write our names on a paper back and forth. I am a product of Cavite and certified Caviteño. Many people say that when you are a Caviteño, you are brave and I think they are right. I am brave, I am fierce, and I am confident as what a Caviteño is.
I am the 6th child of Myla Matta, my mom, and Roberto Serzo Jr., my dad. I have 5 siblings namely Erwin, Mhay, Cheska, Ian, and Yna. I am the youngest among the six. When I was young I often fell on our stairs because I always want my favorite bolster to be at my side but because it is too big for me at that time I cannot see the following steps when I am going down so yeah! I fell so hard so many times. So because of this, maybe that is why I'm short. I'm 5 foot and 1 inch tall by the way. However, even though I am not that tall, I always receive compliments from others that I am small but terrible. Thank you to people who always give and tell me some acknowledgments just like it because it boosted my morale and my confidence.
I am a consistent honor student from kinder to the present, in Grade 12. I was one of the top students who always join extracurricular activities and represented our school. Way back in elementary, I was part of the BIGSAYWIT Team of Malagasang 1, and a secretary of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization. I am also a qualifier for the ASEP Quiz Bee and more until Junior High School. And now, I am taking Humanities of Social Sciences at Emilio Aguinaldo College- Cavite and hoping to graduate in June this year.
All of these years in school were never an easy challenge for me. It feels like a roller coaster ride for someone like me. I cried, I laugh, felt proud and disappointed in myself while studying and fighting in the battle called life. But, there is something that my mom always tells me, that I should believe in my capabilities and that I am limitless. This lesson from my mom is embarked in my heart and soul. And every time I face difficulties in my life I always remind myself what my mom told to me.
All the things I have experienced in my 17 years of existence are truly something to be proud of. Now that I am nearly entering college life and will take a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, I already submitted my applications to many universities that have the said program. I applied to UP, UST, PLM, PUP, CVSU-Indang, and EAC. I am hoping to get as well a scholarship so that I can have something to support my study, and to help also my family financially. I know that everything I experienced in my 17 years is not as heavy as what college and the real world can bring to me, and that is why I already collecting faith, trust, and courage to face all the circumstances that will happen to me. I know that with the faith I have in the Lord, he will not let me down. He will be my weapon, my sword, and my power to pursue what I want and achieve the greatest that I could achieve.
Just like what people always tell “Malayo pa pero malayo na” I know that there is nothing that can stop me from getting the greatest that I could be but only me. And, this is also what I want people to learn about me, that we are the leaders of ourselves and we are the authors of our stories.

I couldn't resist completing @awesomebutunpractical's OC Narrative Questionnaire with some of my Arateph characters. Since I can't have Arateph without Tanza, this has given us a time travel AU where she's among all the characters from the past. These answers won't make much sense to anyone but me, but it was too much fun to resist.
Characters Involved:
1. Auren
2. Tanza
3. Marastel
4. Jemrauth
5. Rilya
1. Tanza and Marastel both are in a hurry and practically bump into each other when they get to the door. What happens?
Under whatever AU circumstances allowed this time travel to happen, I’m picturing this taking place pretty soon after Tanza shows up in the past.
Marastel’s quietly apologetic, stepping back and following etiquette to the letter, and then waits for the other person to make the appropriate responses and let her through. Tanza’s improvising while internally freaking out on about seven different levels—she was not supposed to be anywhere near the queen yet. She tries her best to just give the proper response and get out of there, but they don’t cover the intricacies of etiquette in the history books. Her mistakes catch Marastel’s attention, Marastel realizes that she doesn’t recognize this woman, and she calls down the appropriate security measures. I hope Tanza’s got a good cover story or a time-traveled Auren to come to her rescue.
2. Auren and Rilya are in an argument. What could it be about? Just to smooth things out, Jemrauth walks in on them.
Rilya’s trying to give Auren fashion advice. Auren likes this coat, thank you very much, and doesn’t trust fickle fashion over his tried-and-true coat. Jemrauth walks in while they’re fighting over the two possibilities, casually throws a third option at Auren, and tells Rilya to stop harassing his son.
3. Auren needs a confidant and the options are Tanza and Marastel. Who’s it gonna be? What circumstances would cause this to switch?
Probably Tanza. He wouldn’t want to worry his mother, who’s got a lot of queen stuff to worry about and has a tendency to get too overprotective. But he’d still go to Marastel for bigger family or kingdom issues, or if he needs a perspective that comes from his own century.
4. Marastel and Jemrauth are stuck in a body swap and now they need to impersonate each other. What are the traits they’d overplay to sell it? Who’d do the better job?
If it’s late in their marriage, I’m not sure anyone would notice. They know each other well and know the responsibilities of the crown, so they could easily take over for their other half. Maybe Jemrauth seems a little quieter, but the king’s got a lot on his mind these days; maybe Marastel’s a bit more outgoing, but that’s a good sign, she doesn't smile enough lately.
If it occurred during their courtship days, it would be a lot rougher. Marastel’s got to worry whether she’s committing high treason by technically impersonating the crown prince, and once she gets over that hurdle, she’d have no idea how to relate to everyone around her. She’d constantly mess up the naming tongue titles because she’s not used to addressing people who are lower than her in rank. She’s also got minimal acting ability and has no clue what this guy is like outside of the social situations she’s met him in. She’d probably settle for imitating Rilya when she has to talk, while maintaining a regal silence whenever possible, and the result is surprisingly accurate.
Jemrauth would almost find it a relief to live as Marastel. A break from the pressure, in a life where he doesn’t have to be “on” all the time. Part of the reason he’s drawn to her in the first place is that he recognizes a core similarity in their personalities—a melancholic thoughtfulness—so imitating her would involve him getting to show that, and not hiding it behind the extroverted front he puts on as the prince. He’d be much better at this than Marastel, since he’s got a natural acting ability that he’s been using in social situations for years, but he’d be caught faster, because Rilya is much closer to Marastel than he is to anyone in his life. She’d notice that Marastel was suddenly much less efficient in her duties, had much more of a sense of humor, and had suddenly become much more presumptuous about her place.
5. Rilya has lost something precious. There’s a pile of circumstantial evidence that Auren is the thief. Does Rilya decide to trust Auren anyway? Jump on the evidence and start the blame game? Is there enough trust there to label this a betrayal? Is Auren actually responsible?
Rilya wouldn’t believe it for a second. Or rather, if she does think Auren’s the culprit, she figures it’s a win-win: either the kid has a good reason for taking it, or he’s finally broken out of his virtuous expectations and did something fun for once. She’d just straight-up ask him. The kid’s a terrible liar, so he’d confess immediately. If he took it, it was probably a situation where he was trying to shield someone from consequences—trying to stealthily repair something a servant broke, or one of her kids had him steal it for secret gift-getting purposes or something.
6. Jemrauth, Auren, and Tanza are all out in the middle of nowhere and they stumble onto a very suspicious bag of money. What does each of them think of the situation? Can they agree on what to do?
They all nope the heck out of there. Tanza’s had too much experience with criminals to get mixed up in whatever this is, thank you very much. Auren knows a trap when he sees one. Jemrauth immediately thinks of about twenty-seven different crimes and scandals that the money could be connected to, and doesn’t so much as breathe toward it for fear of tangling the Crown up in it. He sends a security detail to investigate later.
7. Marastel and Rilya are, for the sake of this question, arch-enemies. For reasons they care about, they have to play nice with each other for a dinner. How well does each pull it off? Does Tanza pick up on the tension in the room?
For some reason, they’re for once on opposite sides of an issue and both angry about it, but alas, there are certain social events where they must interact. Marastel—I’m imagining she’s queen by now—would pull it off beautifully. She lives her life surrounded by political enemies and she can go through anything as the perfect model of queenly grace and composure. She would treat Rilya with no more and no less grace than she’d extend to anyone else at the party.
Rilya has never seen the point in hiding her emotions. She’d play the righteously-offended, silent-treatment guest, but wouldn’t be able to resist throwing out increasingly obvious digs.
Tanza is too concerned about not disgracing herself at this high-society meal—she’s had bad experiences—to really care about anyone else there. If she notices the tension, she probably assumes it’s because they're judging some mistake she made.
8. There is a bug! A particularly big, spiny, potentially venom filled specimen. Tanza, and Auren are in the room with the little guy, and Marastel, Jemrauth, and Rilya are in the next room over. What happens?
Tanza steps back and tries to plan the best way to either attack or retreat without anyone getting hurt. Auren sees Tanza in danger, grabs the nearest heavy object, and smashes the bug within five seconds of seeing it. It’s over so quickly that no one in the next room even knows about it.
9. Let’s cast Marastel as a detective and Jemrauth as the assistant. What could this look like? How effective would they be?
There’s been yet another death threat toward Auren! Where’s it coming from? They’ve got the most extensive security team in the known universe, but Marastel takes a personal interest and gets heavily involved in the investigation. Jemrauth’s concerned, too, but his extensive kingly duties prevent him from taking too active a role. Marastel is following up leads in her spare time, and checks in every once in a while with Jemrauth, who can provide resources that she may not have access to. They make a good team, but really, their security team’s got this. They’re mostly just doing this to feel like they have some control over the matter.
10. Auren is jealous of Tanza. What’s causing this? How is this expressed? How honest is Auren about these feelings?
I think there could be a general low-level jealousy of her being in her own century and living in a world that she understands, and not having the weight of a century’s worth of history upon her. I think he’d just try to ignore it or overcome it silently. Maybe avoiding Tanza for a while so he doesn’t risk saying the wrong thing and hurting her feelings. But of course that does hurt Tanza’s feelings, and she eventually calls him out on it, assuming that she did something wrong, and he’s forced to finally admit that he’s been having Negative Emotions, and it makes everything better.
11. Say Rilya really has to hype up Tanza to Marastel. Is this going to be easy? Sincere? How convincing would this all be for Marastel? What if Tanza overheard the hype session?
Rilya has probably been recruited to convince Marastel that Tanza isn’t a security risk to Auren. For Rilya, it's easy and fun, but the sincerity and the satire are so intertwined that it’s pointless to try to separate them. Fortunately, Marastel’s got a lot of experience in dealing with Rilya, so she can recognize and be convinced by the sincere parts.
Tanza overhearing this would just roll her eyes and assume it’s all nonsense, but hey, she’ll put up with it as long as the plan works. But then Rilya, who lives for chaos, escalates it to pitch Tanza as a possible romantic partner for Auren, and Tanza just about dies from embarrassment.
12. Auren and Jemrauth are now trapped in the Cave of ‘You’re Stuck Here Until You Resolve Some Character Conflict’. What would they need to talk about? What would they need to hear? How long would will this take?
They need to talk about king stuff. There's been increasing tension as they try to transition from "Auren the little prince who needs to be kept away from danger" and "Auren the future king who's got to train for his role." Auren needs to hear that his dad respects him as an adult. Jemrauth needs to hear that Auren still respects him even if he doesn't always agree with how he does things. It would be a nice little conversation that would probably set a new baselines for their relationship.
13. Gift Exchange! Rilya got Marastel in the Secret Santa. How easy will this be? How much effort is Rilya going to put into this? What will Marastel think of the gift?
Extremely easy. Rilya has sent Marastel presents on every gift-giving holiday for years. She wants House Kepha heirlooms to dominate the crown jewel collection, so the gift will be jewelry, like always, but she’ll put effort to making sure that it arrives in a surprising manner.
14. Neither Marastel nor Auren believe in ghosts, but they happen to be in a very haunted house anyway. Who would figure out what’s going on first? Who would handle it better?
Arateph has very robust mythology about ghosts. Respect for the dead is a highly-valued virtue, and there are a lot of stories about the horrible things that happen when the dead aren’t properly laid to rest. Marastel and Auren don’t share those fears—you respect the dead because it’s the right thing to do, not because you’re afraid a ghost will tear out your organs. They think up sensible explanations for the weird happenings for as long as they can. Marastel’s probably the first to entertain the fears that maybe there is something to those old stories, and she’s going to try to get Auren out of there as quickly as possible—even if it’s not ghosts, it could still be something deadly. Auren handles it better, because he doesn’t really believe it’s ghosts, and he’s faced death so many times that the danger doesn’t really faze him.
15. Well! It looks like a couple of no good bad guys are trying to snatch Rilya. Why on earth would they do that? How much trouble would they have? What if Tanza got involved?
They’re probably revolutionaries who figure they can make some demands of House Kepha or the Crown if they have Lord Kepha’s sister and the queen’s closest friend as a hostage. They’re rather offended that Rilya’s not taking them seriously—she just plans to enjoy the adventure of being kidnapped. Tanza’s experience with criminals makes her ideal for a rescue operation. It’s not hard—these guys are kind of idiots to even come up with a plan like this in the first place, and they're easily outwitted.
16. Jemrauth and Rilya have been assigned the Those Two Guys role. Whatever part of the story they play, the other tends to be around too. Would this be a voluntary arrangement?
They actually arranged this on purpose in canon. When Jemrauth started visiting House Kepha a lot, everyone assumed he was courting Rilya, which was scandalous enough. If people knew he was actually interesting in her companion, the outrage would be unthinkable. So they let people believe what they wanted to believe. Rilya—who had no interest in the prince herself—was elated to take part in such a high-profile con, but Jemrauth was always glad to escape the spotlight as soon as possible and get back to Marastel, where he could just relax and be himself.
17. What kind of age gap is there between Auren and Marastel? What if this was exaggerated? Switched around? What kind of dynamic would you get with an old Auren and a young Marastel?
About forty-five-ish years. He was just about her last chance at having a child. If they exaggerated that gap even more, she’d be his grandmother, not his mother. If we switch the ages around, it implies that Auren is Jemrauth’s father when Jemrauth is interested in marrying this nobody from House Kepha. It would have been so much easier for them. Marastel would have loved Auren as father-in-law, rather than being terrified of him.
18. What’s something both Tanza and Jemrauth find hilarious? Would they enjoy sharing it? What would Auren think of it?
I think they share a dry, self-deprecating sense of humor. Edging toward gallows humor in how they poke fun at huge problems in their lives. It surprises Tanza, because the history books paint him as either light and frivolous or as aloof and intimidating, but he somehow manages to have a brain and a sense of humor, so she gets along great with this guy she expected to hate. Jemrauth’s a good storyteller, and Tanza’s a great audience for the sarcastic anecdotes that he can’t share with anyone else for fear of sparking a civil war. Auren might disapprove of some of the meaner jokes, but he’s thrilled whenever he sees how well the two of them get along.
19. Rilya and Jemrauth are in an on-going disaster together. Who’s handling it better? Is there a clear leader between them? Are they working together or cracking under the stress?
Jemrauth’s the leader by virtue of higher rank, but Rilya doesn’t really care about rank. Jemrauth worries a bit too much—ever aware of the huge consequences of every action he takes—Rilya doesn’t worry quite enough, but between the two of them, they make a pretty good team.
20. Let’s say Marastel was leading a team built from Auren, Rilya, and Tanza. Would this position be more likely to be earned, elected, granted by a higher authority, or self-proclaimed? How would you rank Marastel’s leadership skills? Is there anyone in the underling trio who objects? Anyone whose particularly loyal? How functional would the team be overall?
Marastel’s in charge because she’s the highest-ranking, and she’s a good leader because she knows how to take charge while also delegating to the right people, though she does second-guess herself a bit too much. Rilya would try to take charge, but Marastel would override all her wilder ideas, so she’d still really be the one in charge while letting Rilya think she was letting her lead the way. Tanza would chafe a bit at having to follow orders, but she’d recognize that Marastel knows more about whatever situation they’re in, so she’d let her take the lead. The four of them make a pretty good team, because the two pairs of personalities balance each other out--a balance of impulsive and calculated.
21. Jemrauth’s been left out of the day’s shenanigans. Is this taken personally? What level of solo shenanigans will they get into if left on their own?
He’s left out because being king of the world means you’ve got a lot of responsibilities. He's long ago accepted that he doesn’t often have time for shenanigans.
22. If you had to choose a babysitter between Auren and Marastel, who would it be? Who would Jemrauth choose?
I’d choose Auren just because he probably has more free time. He’s pretty good with kids. Jemrauth would probably choose Marastel because he recognizes how much his wife loves children and would give her every opportunity to make use of her motherly instincts.
23. Alright, let’s swap Jemrauth and Tanza’s stories for a moment. Would they get along with the other’s supporting cast? What’s one big way the stories would change?
Oh, wow, I’m obsessed with the possibilities here. Tanza as the younger princess who’s unexpectedly thrust into the position of crown princess and eventually queen of the world. She gets to keep the inferiority complex, and if her dad’s the same as Jemrauth’s, she also gets to keep a terrible childhood background. She probably preferred to ignore the world in favor of academic pursuits, until she suddenly becomes crown princess and her dad forces her to learn useful things. She hates Hilath even more than Jemrauth did, but his failings don’t make her rebel against him—it just makes her jaded. She manages to hold on to a core of decency, but she doesn’t really believe that virtue can make any difference in the world. When she’s queen, she’s smart enough to hold onto good policies and change some of the bad ones, but she doesn’t have the finesse to know when to hold back on something that might be unpopular. She doesn’t have the social skills to make allies for herself, but she also doesn’t have Jemrauth’s people-pleasing tendencies that led him astray sometimes. She gets a reputation as a heartless queen and probably gets overthrown by a revolution led by some of the more rebellious lords.
Jemrauth as a tomb robber would be kind of a Han Solo figure. He’s got charm; he’s a bit self-centered. He’s not particularly ambitious. He gets along with Keffer better than Tanza did, but he still secretly loathes the guy. Doesn’t care a bit for the history of the tombs. Has only the faintest idea who Auren is when he stumbles upon him in the tomb. He probably went into tomb robbing less willingly than Tanza did—he’s more sensitive to the morality of it and tried just about everything else before this became his only option. Finding Auren offers an opportunity to get money to escape, and he might be the one whose shady dealings put Auren in danger before he comes to his senses and realizes he can’t escape the life of crime by doing more crime.
24. Jemrauth, Auren, and Rilya have all been taken to a mysterious location, and separated. They have not seen their “hosts” yet, but have had time to think about the situation. When they are reunited, Rilya has been replaced with a slightly too friendly, but otherwise identical, impostor. Do the other two notice? Does the discussion turn to escape? If they realize Rilya is missing, what would the others do?
I don’t think they notice at first, because Rilya’s the kind of person who could have all sorts of ulterior motives for suddenly being suspiciously nice. But they’ve both got pretty good instincts, and if she keeps being overly friendly in suspicious un-Rilya-like ways, they’ll catch on. Jemrauth convinces Auren not to give the game away, and then Jemrauth slyly gets the impostor to reveal where the real Rilya is. Auren would want to rescue her, but frankly, she’s the most expendable of all of them. Their hosts clearly want to, at best, get intel out of the royal family, and at worst, end the royal line, so they’ll have to take the first opportunity that comes to get out of there. Perhaps while they’re looking for a way out, Auren can sway the impostor to their side, who rescues Rilya, and then all four of them can escape.
25. What’s one goal that Marastel and Tanza could share? What would they think of each other’s methods of getting said goal?
They both want to protect Auren from danger. Tanza thinks Marastel doesn’t trust Auren enough—he’s in a lot of danger, but he’s not a kid anymore. He’s smart and capable and can take care of himself. Marastel thinks that Tanza urges him toward too much recklessness, but respects that she seems to prepare herself for any eventuality.

Character development question for any of your kiddos:
If they magically got a book somehow that laid out everything that was going to happen in their lives, from start to death. Would they read it? Skip ahead? Refuse entirely? Read only the upcoming immediate part for help? (@uselessidiotsquad)
Ooh, interesting interesting!!
Kerra wouldn't read it because she wouldn't trust that it was real or, even if it was real, fully accurate. She hates the idea of destiny being set in stone like that and would reject it on that basis alone.
Nisha would keep it around if only for the possibility that occasionally using it to look ahead could prevent mistakes, but aside of potential occasional glances, xe's not really sitting down and reading any of it.
Cyprian (the commander version) would burn it.
Tanza would read it in its entirety. She wouldn't necessarily blindly trust it, but she's very much at a point in her life where she's looking for signs that the future will be better.
