I’ve never done fanart before, not that I’ve been comfortable/confident enough to share, so today is everyone’s lucky day I suppose. Of course I had to do something for my current hyperfixation to sell at my college’s student art sale.

My friends @theclod3215 and @pixel-makes-art and I decided to (eventually) make the 22 major arcana JJK themed, I just happened to make mine first because, again, hyperfixation. Perhaps they’ll post something when they finish theirs and then you can see the entire major arcana!

I made the borders for the cards and the following seven: The Lovers, Strength, The Hanged Man, The Star, The Moon, The Sun, and Judgment. I added something special to the Star/Moon/Sun for all the manga readers, but I don’t think it’s too obvious for anime only.

If you’re interested in stickers or prints, I’m selling them at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia on Tuesday the 19th. The art sale is 3-7pm!

Sonic the Tarot Update #3

Hello everyone! We're back from our break to give an update. For one, Sonic the Tarot's Major Arcana and Suit of Cups lineart is now completely done! Here's a preview of the Major Arcana as a whole (please forgive the excessive watermarking).

It's also time to give a more detailed rundown of how the next few months will go. We aim to complete the art production phase by late August/early September. Then, we'll order a select number of decks before preorders... because we've been accepted into Sonic Expo 2024!

During Sonic Expo's event on November 8th-10th, Sonic the Tarot will be available for the first time alongside some potentially exclusive extras. The base deck will come with three components: the 78-card deck, a saddle-stitched guidebook, and a custom two-part box.

Once Sonic Expo is over, we'll open preorders for web-based sales; we expect these to be open for about a month, ending sometime in December. Afterward, once the manufacturer sends us the completed decks, we'll mail them out to everyone. Leftovers will be saved for future sale.

In the coming months, our branding will undergo a refresh to better reflect the deck's energy.

Additionally, we want to thank you all for being so patient! This is a dream project for us, and we're so excited to share it with everyone. Please look forward to more updates soon!

Can you tell us more about the stretch goals please?

For stretch goals, we need to meet a certain amount of sales for us to have the funds to have them printed! This includes our Add-on Tarot Card Deck (which you have to purchase individually and is not part of the whole bundle), as well as the Shaker Charm, Spinning Standee and Acrylic Pin (which will be added to the full bundle automatically! so you don't have to purchase them on top if you got the whole bundle!)

My ADHD creative juices are flowing, appropriately at 4am, and I just daydreamt of a means to meld my two loves of fandom and spirituality: hear me out.

I make a rad ass cosplay of Clawneck, and get a spot at a con. I set up a tent with little decorations of the shiny moons and stars with (fake) candles everywhere, just like Clawneck’s tent. If I really feel like being unreasonable about this, I could make a COTL themed tarot deck (tbh I probably would just use my regular tarot cards and sell prints of COTL themed cards (probably my own designs) that are based off the major arcana. Like, if a reading with someone revealed that they need more patience I would give them the temperance card. Maybe with a channeled piece of wisdom on back to make it unique to each person. I’m a wood carver. I could make little moon and star earrings and paint them gold. Have a book on a podium nearby with descriptions of the cards and on the other side have it be a sort of “pick your random card to aid you on your crusade” make game accurate camellias and real crystals for sale to decorate the space like his camp. Not to make it sound all business-y but that sounds like so much fun to me, I think I would finally enjoy my work 😅. I don’t know about legalities and copyrights I’m just a dreamer lol.

Greetings Dragon Booster fans! I am organising a Dragon Booster Fan Tarot Deck project, and applications for contributors are now open!

What is it?

This is a not-for-profit fan project, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Dragon Booster plus make some cool merch together! Currently, the goals for this project are:

Create a physical tarot deck/card game*: 35 cards, consisting of 22 x Major Arcana featuring any canon characters and optional OCs and 13 x "Draconium Arcana" where we cover all 13 Draconium colour crew leaders/side characters and dragons. The deck should also include a mini booklet introducing artists/instructions to play + board (if relevant) shipped to every contributor.

Create a digital printable deck: Free for the general public to download, print at home, play and enjoy

*Depending on whether we figure out a card game for this project.

Each artist will be responsible for:

Making 2-3 card designs. Each artist can draw 1 or 2 Major Arcana, featuring any canon characters and OCs of their choice. Each artist will also need to select 1 Draconium Arcana and feature minimum 1 canon crew leader and 1 dragon.

Finalisation of card assignments will be through a tally system and discussion on Discord to prevent too many character overlaps.

NOTE: As this is a not-for-profit project, contributors may have to pay for the printing and shipping of their own deck of cards. Please indicate in this form your budget/ability to pay for yourself. (This will not affect your participation!)

As with any other indie project organised online, merch-related projects carry some risks with the fulfillment of physical orders, especially in the case of relying on regional reps to reduce shipping fees. Very likely, the base of operations will be in Australia and products will be shipping from here, with reps in US/Canada etc. to sort orders there. For now, we are unlikely to be opening sales to non-contributors, unless discussed further through chat and if their orders contribute significantly to paying for costs to contributors.

nonstandard smith-waite: the somnia tarot by nicolas bruno (incredible photography project. eerie, dreamlike, liminal, yet the physical props give it a more grounded, tangible feel than your average deck.), the tattoo tarot (stunning art, if you like clean but complex designs, classic playing card artwork, or traditional western tattoo art, this deck will really resonate with you.), the literary tarot (each card depicts classic literary characters from around the world; deck sales benefited charity. my personal favorite. every detail is carefully crafted to appeal to book lovers. elaborate, shiny, magical. also they gave odysseus top surgery scars)

specialty decks: the caretaker (@cryptotheism, formerly @normal-horoscopes)'s normal tarot deck (completely original oracle deck, feels liminal and dark, but somehow peaceful; great for someone pondering deep mysteries or looking for advice in hard times), moreno & quijada's sonoran tarot (smith-waite's major arcana only; stunning and vibrant watercolors of sonoran desert wildlife. really showcases the power and wonder of the natural world. local purchase from indie artists who I've personally met)

if you'd like me to use a specific tarot spread template, please let me know. otherwise i will choose the best option for your query + number of cards. you can also pick a spread mat, if you like! you don't need to purchase enough cards to fill the mat; i can get creative with the placement. just let me know if you want the floral mat or the bunny mat:

pendula: metal (this was a gift and i don't know what it's made of; brass maybe? gold in color.), howlite, glass beads with sea turtle scene

crystal chips: red jasper, various quartz, flourite, lapis lazuli, lace agate, tigers eye, sunstone, sodalite, bismuth. all stones can be thrown, or you/i can choose 5-10 specific stones that resonate with your query.

nacht came into my life through my current girlfriend, who has had him since he was born. every time she went into the room with his litter, he scrambled up her pant leg like he knew she would be his favorite person. he's about 2 years old now, and loves cuddles, belly rubs, q-tips, waking up our boyfriend in the middle of the night, bothering people while they're gaming, and sitting on my gf's shoulder like a parrot.

misha came into my life through my current boyfriend, who has had him since he was a puppy. he was a rescue, along with his brother oakley, who went with my boyfriend's sister. misha is a chug (chihuahua-pug mix) and is estimated to be around 8 years old. he loves cuddles, being swaddled in blankets, barking at strangers, lying on the softest pillows he can find, and zoomies!
