Twilight Out of Focus Ep 1 Stray Thoughts

I'm very excited about this one because it's a roommates BL. We don't get this one near as often as I think we should. The fans on Crunchyroll are doing good work suppressing homophobic reviews already.

Look at these promises they will most surely break.

This whole bit with the club coming around to BL reminds me of that scene from Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun.

Okay, real shit, I love the way the film club is approaching doing this work.

I'm already into the intersection between queerness and BL that Studio Deen did with Sasaki to Miyano. Mao needs to ask Hisashi to star in their BL, but he doesn't want to potentially out him.

Of course Mao would start fantasizing about Hisashi when asked to see him that way. There's going to be some interesting layers to this one.

Mm, this first encounter had an aggressive twist to it that Mao didn't seem to feel that much after it ended. I'm intrigued by that.

Of course the director already got Hisashi on board.

I'm glad Mao figured out what he might like Hisashi in the first episode. I'm excited about Hisashi already having a boyfriend and the complications that will create.

This was such a strong start. Holy shit. Everyone is being so serious and earnest about their choices and I am here for it. Can't believe yet another Japanese show dropped to dominate my psyche across the week.

I will probably never forget this moment as long as I live. All the yelling faded into the distance and everything moved slowly. Everything including our thoughts. Slow, slow, slow. Like it was shot at high speed, at 960 frames per second. If we had a camera running, it would have been a great shot. I'll definitely use this in my next movie.

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS SCENE THE MOST!!! But it felt too fast?!! ....... Ok, maybe because I was used to just staring and gasping at that frame in the manga because Ichikawa was absolutely STUNNING, so it felt longer because of that heh ^_^;
