This might be surprising but I dubbed this comic
So after finding out I can technically dub @la-sera work. I made this. Of course I can technically always improve it one day in the future but for now I worked with what I got
I do not own this comic aka this amazing artwork. The only thing I own is my own voice here.
I also did a small ish bonus segment at the end for fun. I really do hope this does the comic and @la-sera justice(while I also techinally gave my own spin on it)

More from the spyxfam au!
Azula!
Azula spend years in the asylum getting help properly and had an agreement with Zuko to be removed from the line of succession once he has acquired an heir in exchange for her freedom. This was all done in secrecy, no one but the two knows of this.
Azula now lives in Republic City. She struggled getting permanent jobs at first due to not having any prior knowledge of labor work but gets hired at the end, unfortunately it was not enough pay to make ends meet and gets roped into this mercenary group, the Kemurikage, and they makes use of her ‘skills’ there.
Azula seldom bends in her ‘job’ as her fire is wayyy too distinguishable. She only does so incase of emergencies. It also burns her uniform as well (they cut it from her pay every-time she needs a new replacement, which Azula thinks is ridiculously stupid).
Azula is mad, specifically at Sokka at the Mochi incident (No way she’s gonna get mad at Izumi. Never). She told him that he needs to talk to his Daughter, Sokka agreed but jokingly replied, ‘She’s techinically our daughter’. This makes Azula feel things she can’t fully describe and doesn’t know if its good or bad.. so she decides to talk to Izumi personally.
Izumi!
She’s taking her role very seriously as the future crown princess and Fire Lord. All the adults are worried about it.
Izumi doesn’t like it when people treat her as if she’s stupid and belittles her. She’s also very sensitive about her personal space and doesn’t like how people don’t take her study schedules very seriously .
Izumi and her Grandmother, Ursa, are very close! Izumi loves spending time with her whenever shes not with her Dad or studying. Ursa lets her do whatever she wants and (she secretly liked being coddled by her) but Izumi cant understand why her Grandmother looks at her in this sad-ish expression.
Izumi loves the Bluespirit! There’s a show about him and she can’t not watch it! (Zuko was very proud of himself whenever he listens to his daughter tell him about the Bluespirit)
Izumi likes sweets in general. In the Palace she gets them all the time, especially whenever she’s with Ursa; they both eat mochi together. She apologized to Azula about eating the mochi, but Azula tells her it’s ok and wasnt mad at all at her and lets Izumi eat off her stash whenever and however she wants it .
#azula#sokkla#izumi atla#this took way too fckin long#I struggled so hard to come up with azula’s outfit#i just took one of my old designs and put it on her lol#the burnt edges of the sleeves and dress was inspired by Azula’s cloak in Smokes n Shadows comic!#i’ll post a ficlet once I’m done w it#might not post more tho#our midterm break is over now#:’)#gotta go back to uni🥲#but i’ll try still! got a wip abt this au#Zuko is a good dad btw#he and azula managed to smooth things out.#should i kill off Izumi’s mom????#for the drama ofcourse!

So I heard ya know about theater stuff 👁️
/cracks knucles
Boy do I know about theater. I'm techinically getting a degree in theater (the actual name of my course is 'scenic development' but we learn about both theater and some of filmmaking. My course is also techonological which means it's more practical and it's shorter) this semester and I have been participating in Drama Club theater productions since 2016 (it's very amateaur-ish but it did help me a lot and it led me to knowing my current singing teacher)
But, if the post Sky tagged me is anything to go by, I heard you want some recs.
I really love the theban trilogy by Sophocles, which is composed of three plays: Oedipus Rex, Oedipus in Colono and Antigone. Also, I really recommend Jean Anouilh's version of Antigone, it explores more the themes of family and duty.
The Mandrake by Machiavelli is a comedy but with a tone of social critique that I found really enjoyable.
I'll say that I am a bit lacking in Shakespeare but A Midsummer's Night Dream can be a really fun read if you want something more light hearted!
I need to read more of his plays but if you are looking for something with a heavier social political undertone, I recommend Bertold Brecht's plays, like The Good Soul in Setsuan, Mother Courage and Her Children, etc. (note: even thought I haven't read a lot of his work, I really like his Epic Theater and agree with a lot of stuff that that brings, like making stuff so that the audience never reaches catharsis and makes them think)
I haven't really read this play BUT the students whose classes I accompany in my internship are staging Endgame by Samuel Beckett, and honestly, by each rehersal, more intrigued I get.
I'll be honest, there's a lot of plays that I've yet to read but I can also give you some musical theater recs, as I also love that.
Falsettos (the 2016 revival) is funny yet heartbreaking, with a story about love, family and living in the HIV/AIDS crisis (and also judaism). The songs are great, many have very uplifiting vibes but the sad ones hit HARD.
Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd (I recommend watching the OG stage versions, i think a recording of each can be easily found on youtube) are Sondheim classics and you just can't go wrong with Sondheim
Next to Normal is a musical that handles mental health and grief, with many touching moments, and the ends always leaves me as a mess.
Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 is a musical pop rock opera adaptation of a portion of War and Peace and honestly, the music is just PHENOMENAL. Banger after banger.
I know everyone and their mother has talked about Hamilton, and despite it's problems, I still think the music itself is really good.
Book of Mormon and Avenue Q are really funny, acid comedies, with some really great numbers, that will make you laugh and might even make you reflect on life.
Waitress is another fave of mine, I love many of the songs and they just have this sweetness and heartfeltness to it that I just aaaaaaaaa
Phew, that was a lot, but I'm always happy to provide more!
#thanks for the ask#also for context: i work as an intern in a state school that has a technical course of theater#i accompany the same teacher (who was my history of theater professor in college!) on his monday and tuesday classes#also when i have some more energy i'll try to ge tback on my project of reading one play per month#ask answered#also this reminds me i need to actually go work on those freaking raphael theater director headcanons and another AU i'm working on

Hi Jenn! I asked about the "spin-off". The book is actually called Attached at the Hip, where the main character goes on a reality TV show. She goes through Survivor casting, is told she will be on Survivor and then it ends up being found out that she won't be techinically on Survivor, but a dating "Survivor Spin-off". It's made very clear that this is a Survivor spin-off not a Survivor-like show, which I also found odd because it's "a survivor spin off" but on "CBN" instead of CBS
Eh, I looked it up - while I do think it's a little weird that they decided to call the original show she was going to the casting for Survivor rather than something Survivor-ISH, I still think it's fine. Because the show she actually winds up on, though it is supposedly a "survivor spin-off" in the world of the book, it also has a different name and a different premise. Since that show doesn't exist, nor does the network it "airs on" exist, I think it's pretty clear that it's fiction!
Again, it's fine for a real life show (or book, or play, or movie) to exist in a book and be referenced and mentioned. In MELISSA, the main character wants to play Charlotte in Charlotte's Web. In TOM LAKE, the main character loves Our Town, and the action of the book hinges on several productions of it over the course of years. Both of those works are under copyright -- but referencing them does not violate copyright.

hi catie u can write as many paragraphs on any film that u watch!!! i think that would be neat :)
also DISCLAIMER i havent watched killers of the flower moon, nor have i fully researched the real life event, but i feel like one of the reasons that people think it’s peak cinema is that it’s really really long and (i am assuming) that it has some interesting cinematography?
idk it reminds me of oppenheimer (film i actually watched). like its good-ish, super lengthy, and portray historical events. the visuals were fantastic but i don’t think it was absolutely perfect and the best film of the century, etc etc…
i honestly dont know where i was going with this so sorry for the super lengthy ask 😭
OKAY THEO THANK YOU FOR FREEING ME FROM THE SHACKLES OF MY INSECURITY
Okay as a preface. Watched this with my mom who read the book it's based off of, so that's an additional perspective I'm gonna touch on, and also was very glad to have. And also YES I HAVE SEEN OPPENHEIMER!!!! Seriously my ultimate film of 2023, probably one of my favorite movies I've ever watched. And I guess I thought that, because I enjoyed that, I would enjoy Killers of the Flower Moon(KotFM from now on), for the exact reasons you stated! Also I'm trying to watch all the oscar nominated best pictures before the event lol!
I will rant now, thank you :)
I'm sorry but like I genuinely don't understand how it's so highly acclaimed???? Like how are all the popular/majority of reviews positive?? Did we watch the same film????? Have I somehow lost my taste for cinema???? It's just like, any argument I've seen about why it's actually amazing is so easy to dispute??
"It's about how evil can be done by normal people and that's why it's from the perspective of the perpetrators blah blah" Well, I just watched The Zone of Interest, and I think it portrayed that concept wayyyyy better. Everything was so off-putting and disturbing, and it was from the perspective of the perpetrators, just like KotFM! And you literally never see those getting murdered, because it's all off screen and yet you still feel disgusted and feel terrible about what's happening, even though you didn't techinally see anything that happened. Meanwhile in KOTFM, the Osage are there on screen, actively being exploited and murdered, and I just don't feel attached to any of it, because it wasn't fleshed out well. And to add on, my mom said so much of the stuff involving Leo's character, yknow the character they picked as the main character instead of the actual Native Americans, was just completely made-up! Wasn't in the book at all!!! Martin Scorcese said that he read the book, and immediately thought that it was a book that needed to be adapted to film. And then just fucking makes up shit???? Yes certainly you have to add narrative stuff into a movie when adapting from a book, but to just make so much shit up just so you can portray it from a different angle is so bullshit to me.
"Every minute in the almost 3½ hour runtime is justified" I am convinced people are straight up lying, I'm sorry. It's not like I don't enjoy long movies! Loved Lawrence of Arabia, that's literally almost 4 hours long. Loved Oppenheimer, that's 3 hours long. I like long movies but oh my god, this was just a complete slog. And I kept seeing people say that the last hour was the best, well I'm sorry but after having to sit through 2½ torturous hours, I just have no mental energy left for what's apparently called the best part. I hate that people always start calling movies with long runtime cinema. Yes there are movies I definitely think are worth the long runtime; this one was not one of them.
"The main heart of the movie is the romance" Oh my god, this bugs me so much. I was so happy about Lily Gladstone winning and being in teh running for awards....until I watched the actual movie. Her romance with Leo's character literally makes no sense, and I felt just so ???? about it. The movie wants you to think they're so compelling and that it's so unfortunate that Leo's character is doing these terrible things to this woman he loves and her family, but they literally spent zero time fleshing the relationship out???? It was literally like, oh hey they're in a relationship now, don't really get why, but okay. There's actual reasons about why she would marry him(she literally needs a white man's permission to get access to her own money), but no nooooo they're so in love. There is zero build up. She knows he wants her money, he has literally zero charm, and yet she marries him and says "yeah I know he wants my money, but he's handsome!!" In what world!?!?!?? And a lot of the last section is like, awww they're hugging...even tho he murdered her whole family. And its just you get zero sense of any love between them, because they failed to build it in the first place, and certainly you could make this plot compelling but it's just not!!! It's not!!!!!
Another thing is that for basically all of the movie, I really couldn't get a grasp of anything that was going on. It didn't feel like a connected narrative for me, it felt like vignettes. Like, oh hey we're in this scene now I guess, I don't really know how this connects, or whats going on, or where we are in the story! It just felt very discombobulating for me, maybe I'm stupid, but I couldn't get a grasp on it. And I basically knew the plot, and so did my mom of course, but neither of us could really follow it so, maybe that's not a me problem, but a problem with the film! And I think vignettes can be used well, I thought The Zone of Interest did it really well, where you're just voyeuristiclly watching the family, and there's really no narrative, bur it was really effective. KofFM was more like, oh they're trying to tell a story here, but just not ...well. it's even worse when it's so long, because you're just feeling constantly unconnected from the story and its a slog and it's terrible, etc etc. You're just watching the characters fucking meander around, and you're like, man, would love it if it felt like the plot was actually progressing. And so much of it felt like the big events happened off screen, and you're kinda just told that they happened.
Also okay so the book itself is framed somewhat as a murder mystery. It's very well researched, and it slowly gives you the truth, as if you're learning it alongside the actual people involved. In the film, it's literally so obvious within the first 15 mins who the bad guys are. So you're just spending the whole film, watching all these characters(who you really have no reason to care about imo) die, and they all come off as so naive, and you're just furiously gesturing like "does no one notice these cartoonishly bad guys!?!?!?!?!" Yes, you can do a film where you know the truth from the beginning and watch the cast find out, that's a great concept! But this just made the native American characters come off as stupid and naive, and you're supposed to feel bad for them, and I do, but because I know the actial history, not because anything the film is showing me. Again, they don't flesh out the characters well at all imo, so you watch then die, and you're like, okay this person died, this is a depressing situation, but god, can they figure it out already. Again, the narrative with Lily Gladstone's character is that she loves her husband, so she can't really see what's going on. But. That love is not believable. And before they're in love, she's very suspicious of him, and yet now somehow when he's killing off her whole family, it's fine?????
Ugh okay yeah I don't know what else to say, except thst I just feel like I wasted so much of my time, and it really sucked out my energy. I'd like to be more concise, and I probably have more complaints but again, it really just killed my brain. And also that's its very frustrating and isolating when you hated a film, and then all the reviews are extremely positive and you can't see where any of them are coming from. The funniest part is that my mom and I are like wow this movie feels like it's been going on a while, let's check how much is left! Literally only halfway through. I really could not fully focus after that because I was like, I cannot do almost 2 more hours of this shit. I wanted to finish it because i was really hoping it would pick up, and I would realize why everyone likes it so much, but that never happened, I just felt increasingly bored and done with it. I think with Oppenheimer, a film I love, I was originally kinda unsure but as it kept going, I fell in love with it and didn't want it to end; so I guess I was hoping that would happen with this and it never did. It just got increasingly more boring for me, and I just got more aggravated about it. Also cannot believe I saw reviews saying of Scorcese's films, this one was better than The Departed. Absolutely no way.
Anyways this was extremely salty, oops. Wish I could get those 3 hours back, and watch some other movie instead. I wanted to watch Dallas Buyers Club or Tár, but I just feel like I've wasted enough mental energy tonight. Also lol, kept meaning to post this but it's deranged, but I'm talking about movies already and my brain is all over the place so might as well! I really want to rewatch Interstellar, but I feel like it'll completely emotionally destroy me again so I can't. Y'know when you just like a movie so much and ir means so much to you that it's just way too emotionally investing to rewatch!?!??! But I keep thinking about it, bcs im super into matthew mcconaughey rn, but god I really can't or I'll just be sobbing and hurting.
* oh also. My original complaint abt this was that they used a historically inaccurate word. They used the word "genocide" which certainly describes the situation they're in, BUT THAT WORD WAS NOT INVENTED YET!!!!! It's so easy to check that??? Like we know when and who coined it???? Little things like that really bug me, sorry LOL. Its like man, you can't check that one little thing??
#catie is: extremely salty#oh my god im so sorry for this its so fucking long#but thank you theo truly for getting rid of my inhibitions#so hahaha here you guys go. i guess.#oh wait forgot to mention smth funny#when talking about oscars with my mom#she said that martin Scorcese should win Best Director bcs its a shame hes never won it#anf then midway thru this shes like nah he doesnt deserve it for this LOL#catie.asks.

OH BOY.
well beatrice is a real Bad mage in that she likes being in the front lines while fighting so while he tries to just gently resist all her flirting at first, she eventually convinces him to teach her some basic sword skills and because beatrice is a little shit she’s purposely bad, which means the teaching is very hands on and beatrice just continues to flirt and chip away at him. i figure by the time they reach ostagar they’ve been sleeping together in the same tent for a good chunk of time.
#drthamen#caiti.txt#c: beatrice amell#i have thought about this a lot#no romance for her through origins she ends up with nate#i forget how long it takes to get from the circle to ostagar like 11-14 days?#4 from lothering to ostagar and 9-ish from kinloch to lothering? i think? idk where my notes are#so yeah they start fooling around by like night 4#duncan is like this isn’t a good idea and beatrice just laughs#’i’m techinically your superior’ ‘i technically don’t give a fuck’

I was thinking on my walk home from work today. I've always imagined Thrawn's exile as a vague blob of three ish years but it hit me that he spent four years in exile. Alone, with no sentinents. With only a token from Ungali and Thalias to represent everyone who loved him.
Waiting for the day his plotting went into action.
Looking at the ring. Thinking of all he had lost. Thalias and Un'hee(Edit: CHE'RI) and Ar'alani and Samakro and everyone else. (I like to imagine he keeps it close for the rest of his days. Eli learns of it when he commissions it to be painted onto the bottom of the Chimaera. He never learns the full story of it. It becomes a thing that he only takes out on certain nights.
And I was like wait, so he was in exile all of Eli's time at the Myomar Academy pretty much which makes it seem so much longer cause wow. That puts things into perspective. But I was also thinking...
So Thrawn spent those four years in exile while Eli was beginning his military career. And before that Thrawn had his military career. And after they met they had their golden 12 years, in which everyone knew they were a pair. Even people that didn't know them knew that Eli Vanto was a name that followed Thrawn's.
And then they parted. Eli was techinally military, but mostly desk job, while Thrawn stayed active. And then when Eli got a promotion Thrawn got purrgilled and he was grand admiral of nothing.
Basically, the point I'm making is they don't have separate military careers at the same time. The timeline was unintentionally made so they take turns making their names and chess moves. But they only move at the same time at each other's side, together. When the only one that can beat them is... Nightswan.
Idk if it means anything but little thing I noticed.

4 of 10; sorry, all spots have been filled and I can't accept any more requests!
For @broadwaybaggins
Hi, I'm Allison. 28 years old, she/her, medium-length dark brown hair and eyes that are *techinically* blue but can look green at times depending on the light and what I'm wearing. I'm curvy and on the short side (5'3" ish). I love theatre/acting, singing (I'm a soprano--no belting for me!), reading, watching movies and TV, and being apologetically passionate about things I'm interested in. I'm introverted for the most part, but when I'm comfortable with a person I can become extremely lively and chatty! I am an unabashed nerd and I will gladly have a spirited discussion or debate with you about the latest Broadway show or bestselling book. Something people are often surprised to learn about me is that I like watching sports (baseball, football, and hockey mostly) and especially going to games in person. I am fiercely loyal and my family and friends are incredibly important to me. I can also hold a grudge like nobody's business...though I'm not sure that's something to be proud of...
I've always been strong-willed and unafraid to speak my mind. If I was in the 1940s I'd like to find a way to be useful for the war effort, but I'm not brave or athletic enough to join the service, so maybe I would lend my theatrical talents to touring with the USO? Or organizing relief efforts on the home front!
Your parents weren't thrilled about you joining the USO. It's not like there wasn't work you could be doing at home. But that's the thing, isn't it? For a few hours, you ARE home to these guys - the girls next door, the goofy neighbor from down the street, and for a few hours, they're not soldiers, they're guys at a vaudeville show. Some jokes, some laughs, some dancing, someone pulling rabbits out of a hat. And there's always some kid in the front row who looks too young to be here enjoying himself far too much, back in the childhood he obviously left behind in the states because someone told him Uncle Sam needed him.
It's fun to watch from the side of the stage, seeing their faces light up for a while. Your bit's usually musical, though you've been known to tell a few jokes in between numbers.
In between tours, there's always canteen work; your troupe will be posted to the nearest big city to dazzle the guys who are there on leave, serving slices of pie and smiles aplenty and a dance, too, maybe, if your feet are feeling it. And everyone always wants to dance, convinced that you'll take one look at their goofy mug and it'll be true love, like that Bette Davis movie. (USO girls can't date - it's in the rules, even if you're the traveling entertainment.)
Tonight's dancing fool is a paratrooper, a kid from Ohio with big ears and an even bigger grin, here with a bunch of his friends from the Screaming Eagles - including, as luck would have it, some of those female soldiers the papers at home have been writing about. (Got some looks when they came in the front door, but that's settled now - more girls to dance with!) They've all commandeered a couple of tables to sit together and are having a grand time - up to and including ragging thier friend a little.
"Oh, come on, Hoob, let her have a break too!" one of the girls, a blonde with a big smile, says when the music stops. "You've been talking her ear off all night."
"I don't mind, really - it's all part of the job. Usually I'm just up on stage - don't get a chance to meet the audience."
"Still, you ought to have a break, too - even if it's just from Hoob's ugly face."
Hoob - or Donald, as he's more properly called - rolls his eyes and goes off to find another piece of cake, and you sit down next to his friend, grateful for a moment to be off your feet.
"I'm so glad they gave up making us wear pumps with our dress uniforms," she says, looking grateful herself as you ease your feet out of your shoes under the table to flex your toes and restore a little bit of circulation. "Ought to get you some jump boots, like we've got, so your feet stop getting stepped on."
"I don't think they'd match my dress," you said with a smile.
"It's real nice," she offers, looking it over once with obvious appreciation in her eyes. "And you looked ...so nice, up there, singing in it." It's a shy compliment, the kind delivered where you're...not quite sure how the other person's going to take it. (But she's got a sweet face, the kind that doesn't take advantage. Can jump out of airplane, apparently, but telling a girl she's pretty, really telling her, takes guts. )
"Oh, thank you ..." And that's when you realize - you've forgotten her name. (Hard to remember everyone's when you're meeting a crowd of thousands.)
"It's Connie," she says, with another one of those almost shy smiles that are really starting to tug at your heart, holding out a hand to shake. "Connie Schmidt." That handshake lingers a moment, and you find you don't mind at all.

i want to hear your tntoughta on petunia and giggles Also Lammy
theyre like the three basic girl characters and i like them actually even though they just all boil down too "basic girl characters" and also "some people ship them with every male character imaginable because they cant imagine the characters being gay" or something. i think its a shame that htf only has like TECHINICALLY three female main cast characters and flakys gender being fought constantly about to death even to this day. like i want more women in htf. come on. ok separately i think lammy has the best design shes a lot more creative..ish? like less bland despite being a sheep. thats very much because shes a newer character though LOL. i only like giggles a lot bc the entire Lovecore thing you can assign to her and that she dressed up as a cupid AND an angel. but like outside of those things shes just kinda .. basic. like basic girl character. the episode about her cussing lumpy out bc hes pollutioning a lake is funny though i like the episodes where they arent just boring girl characters LOL sorry. and petunia got like... dated......... i only like her because of flower nonsense and i associate her with gas masks. thats it

Never trust a dm who is an author.
So in the campaign I’m in weve just gotten to the big boss guy while trying to save one of our 8 diffrent kids who is being potentially used as a vessel for the big bad demon the cult decided to summon.
As we are just about to defeat the speaker( boss) our kid tears the room up and paralyzes us with magic having now been taken over by the demon. We are thrown harshly against the wall and forced to stand and silently watch this 12 year old we saved at the beginning from being transformed earlier pace infront of our line of silenced members.
And with the word of death he points at each one of us. If we weren’t dead ( it took 100hp ) he would stab us till death. The ironic part but equally fitting death for my character, he had stabbed us all to death with a knife I trained him with a year earlier. Our bodies were then trampled upon by the cult followers and the speakers and then sent to the doorstep of our kingdom as a warning.
With that we were dead. Heart broken having lost our child and having to hear of the horror our other children had when they saw us.
We sat through and listened to our own funerals and the start of a war on our homelands caused by our deaths. But just as we thought the campaign was finally over after a year. WHOOSH. A mystical voice of the fea queen called down to our resting bodies.
“ you aren’t finished yet” she said. And with the shatter of our necklaces gifted to us by her we were revived. We learn we had been dead for 5 years. My daughters and sons had became leaders of the rebellion along with our gathered allies.
Let me give a bit of background on our many children.
The first was athen. He was tortured and turned into a Tiefling. We had adopted him. Then became the host of the demon.
The second was kelvira. She was once a princess but was forced to watch her parents be murdered then she was killed herself. But she was then revived. I had adopted her with our soceress.
3rd and 4th was patten and ami. They were “brother and sister”. They had been taken from the orphanage by a witch in disguise with two other children. Those other two were killed. We rescued them from her.
5th was Argus. Argus was my son. He was adopted after escaping with patten and ami and kelvira from the cult. We trained our children well.
6th was a boy called nixus. He was a cursed child. We helped his mother help him escape from prosecution by the local lench king.
7th was Severus. A dragon born we half adopted. He saw his oldest sister die.
8th was while techinically and not technically our bard ( she was 16) to many shit events to name.
With this information it’s easily said ( with the exception of one) they were all orphans before we adopted them and we were their second family.
With our deaths That had been stripped back away from them. They only had eachother then, and for 5 years they lived on their own means. Luckily we were hoarders and I had connections with the thieves guild and the pirate island. So they were safe(ish) for those 5 years. But what was the most painful was reading the letters they had written us while we were dead. It left 3 party members sobbing, one in a emotional delimah, and I sitting broken in the corner.
So let this be a warning.
Never trust a dm who is an amazing author.
It’ll be the best written campaign you’ve ever played and the most painful.
