Pure Vanilla He's one of the first to find you and he instantly realises who you are. He's quick to come over and help you off the ground and bring you to the kingdom...technically your kingdom, he checks over you in an instant to make sure you haven't endured any injuries, this must be strange for you. He hopes you're not scared of him now that you met him.

After checking your body for the nth time for injuries and hearing your reassurances for the nth time, he finally calms down and hugs you. He knows it may be better to continue the lie of not knowing, but he can't help himself!! You're really here? How? He shyly explains everything to you and even offers you to stay with him as you settle in. He's a bit protective over you in a way, he wants to protect you now that you were in their world. He'll join you on walks around your kingdom or the other places in Crispia if you want to go.

He'd want to hold your hands so much during these walks but I feel he wouldn't ask out right, however if you were to hold his hand or ask, he'd be so elated and happily hold your hand as the two of you walked around.

Shadow Milk He was just floating around, yappering away to Black Sapphire about witches know what until...he hears a familiar voice, he almost instantly bolts away to investigate, leaving Black Sapphire to just stare at the spot where his master used to be. As he reaches the source, he can't help the giddy grin creeping on his face as he sees you, you look so adorable!! You're one of them now, without thinking he quickly tackles you into a hug, ignoring Pure Vanillas presents.

He hugs you tightly, he's so happy to see you. And here! In his world!! Ahhh this has been one of his dreams, guess he doesn't need to continue finding a way out if you're gonna stay here. He only lets go slightly when Pure Vanilla coughs behind him to grab his attention. Shadow Milk huffs a bit and merely uses a hand to wave him off, he isn't even doing anything bad!! He just wants to hug his beloved "God"

Oh, he's quick to invite you to his Spire, you'll love it he promises. You can even be the lead in his next performance!! He'll love to have you on stage with him, it won't matter if you can't act at all, just having you there is all he needs to have a stupid grin on his face.

Black Sapphire He had to find Shadow Milk after his disappearance, though he can't say he blames his master after seeing you. Huh, no wonder he was quick to bolt. When he arrives, Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla seemed to be talking, for once it seems like Shadow Milk is willing to make a compromise with Pure Vanilla. Something something, you can go to the Spire as long as Pure Vanilla comes along...hang on

You, go to the Spire? Oh he'd enjoy that, he'll even let you join him in his recording room for his radio show, he'd love for other cookies to hear your voice broadcasted on his radio show. Not only will it let other cookies realise you're in their world right now buuttt, you're now with him. You've met him and he's met you face to face. Oh he knows some cookies will be jealous, perhaps others will try to find you to "save" you from the deceit, oh how he'd love to see that.

For now though as he watches his master talk to that Pure Vanilla, he'll introduce himself, sweet talk you so that you're more at ease with him. Don't worry, he doesn't bite, he promises!! He'd never do anything to you after all.

Burning Spice Okok so imagine after a few months you decide to take a walk on your own and end up being tackled (once again) by yet another beast. Well not tackled, more so you're now being carried by the Great Destroyer himself. Oh he's happy to have finally met you in person!!

He’s quick to introduce you to his minions who seem to take the time to investigate you, Burning Spice makes it clear that you’re one of the few that is off limits, one of the few that if he finds out is destroyed he will not be satisfied. You get that kind of special treatment.

Even when he lets you go, you have a strange feeling you’re being followed, and not necessarily by him but his minions? He just wants to ensure you’re okay and if anything bad happens to you (specifically if that harm comes from a different cookie) he wants to know as soon as possible so he can teach that cookie a lesson

Fire Spirit (may be OOC) It’s hard not to notice a flaming red candle coming your way in high speeds, as soon as he hears the mention of you being here? Oh here’s there in a flash to introduce himself. He knows there’s a chance you don’t know him as well as the others (unless you’ve played OB) so what better way to get to know each other than this?

He’s so enthusiastic on meeting you and insists on taking you to the best places of Crispia while also introducing you to the other Legendarys, he keeps you close by his side. Almost as if the two of you are dating already. He doesn’t mind that it looks like that too, it may not be what he intended but hearing younger cookies ask if you two are together gives him a sense of pride.

Oh and he loves your cookie form, sure technically it wasn’t different to how you looked like before but he just finds it so cute!! He’ll tag along anywhere you go, nearly beg for you to let him join you even if you’re planning on a walk by yourself. He’ll try to convince you but won’t push if you truly want a walk by yourself. He might sulk but that’s just cuz he loves being around you <33

It was the night after your slightly discouraging art display, and you'd fallen asleep at your mini desk. The air was cool, with a slight wind blowing outside. You felt something shift, as if a weight had entered the air. Your eyes slowly blinked open, and you rubbed them with a yawn while hearing papers rustle. When your vision came in, a large shadow was standing beside your desk. Two shades of blue eyes looked down at you, and you gasped happily while sitting up "Shadow Cookie!"

"Thaaat's right!" The shadow replies, leaning forwards so he could come into view. Shadow Milk had been visiting for months now, and he noted as he saw the scattered pictures across your desk that it seemed his efforts were sucessful. He grinned widely, looking over your art in his hands "Did you make this, little puppet? I see a certain rougish devil made his appearance!". You giggled, reaching up as best you could to point to it "Yeah, yeah! But papa didn't seem to like it too much...". Your frown returned, and Shadow Milk gave a huge gasp "He didn't?! Well, the nerve! He must be blinder than I thought!". Your smile returned as you looked up at your 'imaginary' friend "Papa's just worried sometimes. But s'good that you like it!"

"Like it?! Why, little puppet, I love it! I'd hang this up in my spire" Shadow Milk declared, holding the drawing close to his chest. You got down from your chair, running over to him and grabbing his legs for a tight hug. Shadow Milk chuckled, placing a hand atop your head. "That papa of yours isn't very kind, is he?" Shadow Milk commented "How strange for a Cookie of truth to lie to his own kin!". "Lie?" You asked, pulling back with a confused expression "What do you mean?". "Oh, don't worry your poor little dough over it" Shadow Milk cooed, lifting you under your arms. He floated off of the ground, carrying you up before holding you tight to his chest.

"But- papa isn't supposed to lie" you frowned. "I know, but papa's don't always do as they're supposed to" Shadow Milk responded, a fake look of sympathy on his face. He pulled you in, nuzzling his cheek to yours "I'd never lie to you, you poor thing. We're good friends, right?". As he asked that last part, his grip on you tightened a little. You gave a nod "Yeah! Bestest friends!". Shadow Milk grinned widely, sharp teeth showing as he held you up above his head while he spun mid-air "That's right! Best as can be! And best friends always tell the truth"

You giggled at the motion, pulling yourself into his arms for a tight hug. It was refreshing to have a friend you could play with at all times, a silly jester who loves making you smile. You pulled back, chuckling with him before a knock came from your door. "Little sunflower? Are you awake" Pure Vanilla's voice called. Shadow Milk quickly placed you back down "That's my cue to exit the stage". You gave a little whine, tugging on the jester's sleeve "Do you have to?". "You know the rules" Shadow Milk replied. He watched as your head titled down, a sad pout on your face. He couldn't help but grin.

"Well, I was going to wait for a special occasion, but I suppose I can give you this now" Shadow Milk said, pulling something out. He handed you a small doll fashioned to look just like him, with big button eyes and a stitched smile. You squealed, holding it close to your chest "Thank you, Shadow Cookie! You're the best!"

"Sunflower? Who are you talking to?" Pure Vanilla called. Shadow Milk scowled, replacing it with a faux look of kindness as he leaned down to speak with you "I'll be back soon, don't worry" he said, before vanishing into the shadows. You felt your smile fall as you nuzzled into the doll he'd given you. You loved your papa, but it was disappointing how your friend always had to leave when he came by. And he said such odd things... what lies could he be talking about?

The door opened, Pure Vanilla hurriedly walking in. He waved his staff about a bit, hair a mess and breathing heavily. You walked up behind him, tugging on his robes. "Papa?" You asked, and the healer turned to you. He sighed with relief, kneeling down and wrapping an arm around you "What are you doing up so late? I thought someone had found you...". "I was jus' drawing, an' I fell asleep" you explained. Pure Vanilla pulled back, kissing your forehead "Of course, how silly of me. My little artist must have been hard at work". He lifted you up, balancing you in his arms "Come now, it's time for bed"

You let out a yawn, nuzzling into his chest. Soon enough, you were tucked into bed, Pure Vanilla making sure you were snugly covered in blankets. He'd noticed a flicker of something blue being closely squeezed in your arms. He tried to reach a hand out, but you'd turned away from him before he could see. "G'night, papa" you said. Pure Vanilla pulled back, that worried expression back on his face. "...Good night, my bluebird" he said, a little quietly.

He closed the door to your room upon exiting, that troubled expression now fully showing on his face. He could feel that presence. He kept having to look over his shoulders around the shadowy corners of his castle, fear gripping him tightly. Every inch of the hollow nooks felt like they were watching him. Waiting. Laughing.

"Elder Faerie will be here tomorrow... please, please, by all that is good, don't let my fears come true" Pure Vanilla thought to himself "You can have my kingdom, my title, my souljam.. just please.. don't take my little bluebird away from me". He began walking to his room, worriedly holding the handle of his staff. Daunting eyes watched him as he walked. "Oh, Silly Vanilly..." a voice whispered eerily in the darkness "Fighting so hard to protect his little family... pathetic". Shadow Milk morphed into the darkness, beginning his usual escape route back to the outside. Black Sapphire and Candy Apple stood in the royal garden, waiting for him.

"Count this night a success, my delightful little grubs" Shadow Milk said as he materialized. Candy Apple squealed "I knew it, I knew it! You're so strong, my lord!". Black Sapphire gave a little bow "All is in motion, just as requested". Shadow Milk grinned widely, a high giggle leaving him "Perfect, perfect! I can't wait to see their faces when it happens!". "Until then," Black Sapphire began, hopping up on his staff to float off of the ground "We have time left to plan". "Pssh, as if I need a plan" Shadow Milk said, beginning to walk away from the castle "Have faith, my minions. This isn't even the half of what's to come"

You know something folks don't often talk about with Self Aware AUs that I really think more people should discuss when writing about it? Sequence breaking. Specifically the inherent sequence breaking that comes with Gacha games allowing you to meet characters that you haven't met yet in the story if you haven't played that far ahead.

For example, I actually just started playing CRK nearly 2 weeks ago after watching a bunch of animations and cutscenes about the latest Beast Yeast episode online, right? And as a result, I got enough F2P currency from being a new user to get, in this exact order: Pure Vanilla Cookie, then Black Sapphire Cookie, then the soul jams to awaken PV, then Shadow Milk Cookie. All of this happened before GingerBrave canonically met any of them.

So basically Shmilk woke up one day, was out of the tree he was trapped in for what felt like an eternity, appeared in some random small kingdom, sees PV who was now all glowy and angelic and hanging out with his minion for some reason, who immediately walks up to him and says something like, "Hey man. I experienced enlightenment and I have no idea how. But through context clues from The Baker, I think I just ruined your entire corruption arc you had planned for me? Sorry about that. You wanna beat up some cake monsters as these children learn the dark lore of our existences?"

I don't think PV talks like that, but you get the picture. I like the idea of accidentally ruining the entire plotline by having some lucky gacha pulls~

✧ SHADOW MILK COOKIE would be ecstatic about finally being released from the Silver Tree, and with a physical form no less? All so far ahead of schedule? Oh, he was over the moon! But where was he? This wasn't that silly faerie kingdom. As a matter of fact, was he even still on Beast-Yeast?

✧ In the context of the story the existence of the Cookie Kingdom is, well, horrifying. New cookies being summoned were a common occurrence within its walls, from different regions, time periods, and even ones that had crumbled long ago. After a certain point the ruler of the kingdom started finding ways to allow cookies to adjust to their new life, but of course that system didn't work for everyone.

"For the last time, I do not want to join your silly kingdom! Where are my minions? And where on Earthbread am I?"

✧ He'd be livid that his powers don't work here for some reason, safe for a couple of things like summoning a plush rabbit of all things. Why was he being reduced to this mockery? Who was turning a former almighty cookie into an equal to the foolish cookies who lived here? Seriously, is that mask-wearing buffoon always lifting something?

✧ He'd eventually comply, albeit reluctantly, because after a while he'd realize there's no point in resisting the inevitable. You held the power here, over everyone, and for the first time in years there he felt completely powerless.

“Do you enjoy seeing me kneel before you? Do you find pleasure in watching me be reduced to this?! I’m the one holding the strings, I AM NO PUPPET!”

“Why are you yelling at the sky?”

✧ At some point you’re forced to talk to him directly since he was causing troubles for the other cookies with his ramblings and general abrasion.

“You, YOU! You’re the one who did this to me! I was happier inside of that stupid tree than I am here! Why me? Why not one of the others? Why did you decide to torture me like this?”

“I dunno, the gacha just picked you I guess.”

“What are you talking about?!”

✧ He’d become even more upset when you explain the gacha to him and, by extension, the fact that their entire world was technically a game. So his current situation was entirely chance. You sent him away after that, promising that you’d build a few structures for him in return for good behavior.

“Wow, this is humiliating. Why am I being stuck cutting wood? I’m a jester not a lumberjack…”

“Shadow Milk Cookie!”

✧ Being reunited with his minions was nice, for a short while, it gave him some sense of normalcy throughout the newfound confusion. Because at least he wasn't alone during this. That Distorted Tower you promised seemed that nice, and you weren't that bad he supposed. It could've been worse…wait. Was that Pure Vanilla Cookie? Why was he glowing?

“Oh, hello again! I believe I experienced enlightenment during your absence. I’m not too sure on the details, outside of that spire, but I’m grateful we’re meeting in better circumstances. It’s nice to see you be given a chance at redemption.”

“You what?”

✧ Nevermind. This sucks.

Finally made ref sheets for this au so I figure now is as good a time as any to make an official introduction post for it.

Keep in mind that I'm still working on ironing out all the details so some things may be subject to change. However, I do have the major story beats decided so it's all the stuff in between that I'm not certain of. (Also PV'S designs are subject to change I'm not certain I'll be sticking with these)

Au overview and some more art below the cut because I ended up yapping for so long

With that out of the way, here's the gist of this au:

When Truthless recluse shatters his soul jam in the spire of deceit, he gets sent back in time (as like a fluke side effect of awakening ig) where he is found by the Fount of knowledge. Pure Vanilla is weary of Fount at first because he's not entirely convinced that this isn't just Shadow Milk trying to fuck with him again but he does genuinely want to be friends with shadow milk so he decides to just go along with this. He does realize fairly quickly that this isn't a trick, he's actually stuck in the past.

Fount is absolutely fascinated by PV, he's never had any genuine connections with anybody before and PV is pretty much the first person ever to see him as an actual person and not just something to be used and then discarded. He is also extremely curious about why PV has a second copy of his soul jam (PV quickly after realizing he's not in his time starts hiding his soul jam but he couldn't exactly hide it from Fount, at this point in time it isn't visibility cracked yet, that happens later on.)

Long story short they become besties (could be read as romantic or platonic), horribly codependent relationship on both ends. they don't have anyone but each other and they are each other's whole world.

It would absolutely tear PV apart if Fount was to, for example, start to corrupt and for there to be absolutely nothing he could do about it. Or if, and I'm just throwing this out there, he was to be locked up in, oh I don't know, a tree for thousands of years. And expanding on that, let's just say, hypothetically, that Fount assumes PV is mortal (technically correct) and that Its been thousands of years, he's probably died of old age by now (not correct). That would probably fuck him up soooo bad. Especially since he's locked in this hypothetical tree and literally all he can do is sit with his own thoughts.

Hahaha, good thing that's purely hypothetical. Because if that wasn't hypothetical then PV might, in an attempt to spare himself from his suffering, shatter his soul jam (again) and completely lose all of his memories (again). But that'll never happen because that was all purely hypothetical and actually this au is all sunshine and rainbows with absolutely no angst.

I've got sosososososo many ideas about this au that I haven't even touched on in this brief overview and am genuinely considering turning this into a fic. However I've literally never written anything before and this concept I think would be incredibly difficult to pull off convincingly. Also, shadow milk/fount of knowledge is physically disabled here. You can pretty much assume that that's the case with any of my depictions of him even if it's not obvious just by looking, but I figured it should still say that.

Please please please please please send me questions about this au I'm hopelessly hyperfixated on it and I have absolutely nobody to talk about it with or bounce ideas off of and that's tragic. Also I haven't figured out a name for this yet so please give me suggestions so I can tag everything accordingly and have all of it in one place.

I'm not completely sure how to tag this? I'm talking about the ships in a positive light so I think it's okay, and besides, I want lots of peeps to see it, I'm aware I probably won't change many people's minds at all, but it's okay lol, I just want Anti's to see they genuinely have a nothing burger and need to leave people alone.

This is a mostly TikTok only problem regarding Beast x Ancient's (thank god) but I've seen my fair share elsewhere like on here. So lemme counter every argument I've seen so far cause you got a lot of time on your hands to be telling people to off themselves over Cookie ships 😭 put that hate into people who actually deserve it.

BILLFORD COMPARISON

Regarding ShadowVanilla specifically, people have compared the ship a lot from both sides, but what really got me is what I've seen here:

"Shadow Milk Cookie is way worse than Bill! He drove Pure Vanilla to insanity! He tortured him!"- This is in regards to how people bring up the fact Anti's are fine with one thing but not the other when it's basically the same thing they're against. Psychological, physical, mental, and emotional torture. I'll be honest I haven't watched Gravity Falls whatsoever, but my friend has, and from what she says, yeah Bill is the definition of a cruel and unusual punishment. He's done some crazy things, absolutely heinous, might even be a little worse than Shadow Milk or on the same level, either way though-

You can't like one thing and then not the other, it's different flavors of the same thing, it's hypocritical. Either you hate them both or you hate neither.

"Those are 2 different fandoms!"- Doesn't matter, it's the same thing, just different media, it's not different whatsoever aside from the universe, there's much torture involved on both ends.

ABUSER X VICTIM

This one I've seen A LOT and I'm just ??

"If you ship Beast x Ancient's you support Abuser x victim btw"- That's a STRETCH. You are reaching FAR. Nobody is romanticizing the abuse, nobody is normalizing it, it's stuff that happened in canon and we acknowledge it but nobody is doing any of that other stuff. I'm not condoning anyone in real life to do that shit lol. It's called exploring, they have an interesting dynamic, romantic or platonic, two sides of the same coin. You can say the same thing about horror movies, they put a lot of disturbing stuff in there. Do the movie producers CONDONE any of that stuff? Obviously not. Goes for Devsisters too, they don't condone body mutilation yet they still made Burning Spice rip off Cheese's wings.

But even so, for the people who DO like it for the angst, I won't say fiction doesn't affect reality because it does in many cases, but this isn't one of them. Not every relationship is going to be peachy and perfect, just like in real life. I can give an example on this one too actually.

GoldenLily, they aren't condoning what Lily (technically) did to Golden Cheese's kingdom, but they like it for all the potential, complicated feelings and emotions that come along with it.

Also, that's basically the same thing with Beasts x Ancients, just turn it around to enemies to lovers.

"This isn't Villain x hero, this is abuser x victim"- Are you saying MOST of media is abuser x victim then? This is in fact a typical hero x Villain trope, it's nothing new. Respectfully, you guys freak out when a Villain does villain stuff, I'd be surprised if there was a villain who DIDN'T cause any trauma for the opposing party. But according to this logic, media is just dead, no more fanfiction, no more what ifs, no more content since it's all apparently problematic and not canon. Even if somebody switches stuff up in an AU, and makes things completely fluffy, that's apparently still not enough.

"oh you had to make an AU to ship them because you know it's toxic"- No, it's just playing around with scenarios. Learn to separate fanon from canon. This specifically goes for the redeemed AU's I see of the Beasts, people still complain, they act as if people can't change. One of the biggest examples I have of that is FlutterCord, Discord did plenty of messed up things, but in the end, he still managed to change. You'll still get burned at the stake for it though.

"You must be an abuser yourself to condone this!!"- Extremely disrespectful and a WILDDD take. Need I say more??

"I ship Beast x Beast rather than Beast x Ancient's"- According to your logic, the Beasts are abusers right? And if we followed the same story, they are not mentally well whatsoever. You'd rather ship 2 dangerously mentally unstable characters together who'd just make each other worse? Destroy each other? Fuck each other up beyond belief? It doesn't make sense does it, nor is it fair for y'all to praise these ships but hate on the others. You like watching the cookies crumble huh 😭

CANON

"The ship isn't canon!"- We know that, everyone should know that. With what I said earlier, please learn to separate fanon from canon. That's what a fandom is, we do non-canon stuff, it's very fun, you should try it.

"It's a Proship/Dark ship!"- Going the canon route, Beasts are Eons old, Ancients are thousands of years old. Big gap yes, but nonetheless all of them are old as fuck. Older than bloodlines. Treating the Ancients as if they aren't grown adults. You're intentionally trying to make it weird. Stop calling ships you don't like proships please.

Also a little off topic but please don't listen to everyone you interact with on TikTok?? I remember one time I was scrolling through a comment section and saw somebody say "Doesn't Mystic Flour Cookie hate Burning Spice Cookie?" On a MysticSpice vid, looked in the replies, somebody asked for proof/where it was implied, and they didn't answer 💀 just blatantly spreading misinformation. Sources around you are way more reliable than people who don't back up their claims.

CONCLUSION

Even despite all this, you still have the right to feel how you wanna feel. Just please stop harassing people for simple stuff like this, in all honesty, I feel like it's more about seeing one of your favorite characters shipped with somebody who hurt them in canon that makes peeps upset. Which I can totally understand because I used to be exactly like that, I LIVEEEE for Dark Cacao Cookie, when Mystic Flour's update came out, I wanted her dead. Quite literally blocked someone because I couldn't stand seeing their MysticCao art. Hated what she did to my baby boy fr.

But then It started growing on me, over time, I just realized it was never that serious.

Even so, notice how I still didn't go out of my way to harass said person about it because I specifically didn't like it? It really is that easy. Block and go about your day.

Some of this is a bit untidy and disorganized in terms of thinking because I literally brainstormed it - You can make of it what you will, some of these things might lead to other conclusions or ideas and not exclusively Shadowsugar but may be more associated with the respective characters

VERY LONG READ AHEAD!!!

I just wanted to brainstorm about more Shadowsugar theories and the mentions of an ouroboros/two-headed snakes/general symbolism relating to the cycle of life I already cleared up that there is no cycle in Eternal Sugar's garden because the goal is to be stagnant and sloth is inherently stagnant, and there are not many things that imply a cycle - her "Eternal" refers to basically eternal stagnation and not like an eternal cycle which is what the ouroboros and the two-headed snake represents So a while back I connected them with a few things:

- Hermes and Aphrodite - Persephone and Hades - The cycle of life, life and death, the ouroboros

I wanted to look more into the Hermes and Aphrodite things, I mean I already figured that Persephone and Hades together were also associated with the cycle of life and whatnot

In Greek mythology (although this is actually Greco-egyptian), the ouroboros is also associated with Hermes, but in a different way - it's called Hermeticism which is based off of the writings of Hermes Trismegistus which is a blend of Hermes and Thoth

I already pointed out the similarities of Hermes and Shadow Milk, but I'll talk about them again anyway:

Hermes is considered the "divine trickster" and is well-known for his mischief and tricks

Hermes was a shapeshifter

Can easily shift or move between both the mortal and divine realms

Associated with animals like the ram

In some portrayals, he has a jester-like hat, too

Now he also has a few similarities with Thoth, although particularly pre-corruption:

Thoth is the god of knowledge, magic, art and wisdom

Thoth is strongly associated with the moon (particularly the cresent moon) and scrolls (in fact, I'm pretty sure he apparently invented papyrus scrolls and hieroglyphs)

Shadow Milk's hair is actually shaped like cresent moons

Basically, Hermeticism is directly associated with the ouroboros / or I'm pretty sure Hermeticism adopted the ouroboros as one of their symbols

(you can see this in the second image that displays an ouroboros)

So maybe Shadow Milk was actually more associated with Hermes than I thought in this theory. I didn't think of it much initially

Aphrodite and Hermes had a child called Hermaphroditus, which became the origin of Hermaphroditism because he was a Hermaphodite (if it wasn't obvious enough by the name)

Now, I think this is not a child that Eternal Sugar cookie and Shadow Milk supposedly had if they are Hermes and Aphrodite but another thing that represents or symbolizes a cycle/or opposing ends In Hermeticism/Alchemy, this is called a "Rebis" and is born from the sacred marriage of opposites - it represents masculine and feminine, life and death, the sun and the moon - in other words, a cycle / duality Design-wise, and in many manners, Shadow Milk and Eternal sugar are opposites and probably even more-so pre-corruption. Eternal Sugar is white and pink and Shadow Milk is blue and black which is the prime aspects of their designs (as simple as it sounds, design contributes highly to the telling of a character and your subconscious, another example is Pure Vanilla being yellow and white and Shadow Milk being blue and black, telling that they too are opposites)

Technically speaking, happiness is kind of the opposite of knowledge because it's blissful and emotional, meanwhile knowledge is more logical and reliant on reality.. Knowledge can either be incredibly destructive and painful to happiness or contribute to it much like any other opposite

Now, this is stretchy, but I also often see Eternal Sugar with sun-like or light motifs surrounding her

I mean, it could easily be a halo, though...

But another reason I feel like it could be a sun is because the pink sun/pink rays is associated with the archangel Chamuel, who was associated with love, peace and happiness and is often portrayed wearing a heart and surrounded in pink (because pink is his color) and also really often portrayed being around a cupid (stereotypically)

Shadow Milk is often associated with the moon (and particularly dark moon magic) and darkness , although funnily enough, he's really often seen with both the sun and the moon

Also the sinking sun is interesting to note.. Maybe I'm wrong and he could actually be both the sun and the moon here, especially since he's seen holding light in his gacha (and also note the dark moon magic logo, the sun and the moon)

It could actually just be representing Shadow Milk's control over dark magic and white magic (because there's also a white magic logo right there)

Maybe he's actually the rebis, at the end of the day? lolol

So this one I don't know what to make of, these things might be more related to Smilk than the latter

Although out of the sun and the moon I think Shadow Milk represents the moon the most, especially since he's around rabbits a lot which could mean other things but in Eastern Asian folklore it's because a rabbit lives on the moon and that rabbits are associated with the moon - Also his design is just really moonlike in a lot of manners and has so much moon symbolism overall

and he lives on the dark side of the moon, I think..

So what I was just theorizing is, pre-corruption, Shadow Milk and Eternal Sugar had very much to do with the cycle of something relating to cookiekind, which is why they are so closely tied - Judging by what Shadow Milk told her in both the KR and EN version, I think Shadow Milk and Eternal Sugar's separation (in any manner) both somehow contributed to their corruptions and the rest as well as the chaos (because obviously without a cycle there is chaos, let alone if they were one of the biggest contributors to a cycle) that cycle in which Burning Spice cookie was fighting for - I think Shadow Milk and Eternal Sugar might've really been the "Purelily of the group" so to speak

So some might think that this "opposites" thing might tie more directly to Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla, but the truth is, yes you would actually be right. Considering this theory, despite having broken off from his initial opposite and contributing to the end of a cycle, Shadow Milk still winds up gravitating towards Pure Vanilla more affectionately who is too, his opposite... For there to be balance there must be a sun and a moon

I think all of this also ties with how I believed Eternal Sugar to have her connections with PV and White Lily much like Shadow Milk has his connections with PV and White lily and vice versa , Pure Vanilla and Eternal Sugar are basically Shadow Milk's opposite

White Lily cookie could, too, be Pure Vanilla's moon IN A WAY because

No one actually knows who was Eros' father, it's only believed that Eros might be the child of Ares only because Aphrodite was with him primarily for a while, but the reason why Eros was thought to maybe be the child of Hermes is because he looked and behaved like Hermes more than he did of Ares ... Hermes was winged and mischievous , Hermes invented the lyre and Eros was often with a lyre, in Roman mythology, Eros was written as the child of Hermes In this case, that would be accurate because Pavlova is made of sugar, cream and berries and is also to an extent a trickster. Now I'll never be 100% sure about this theory, I think I did write about it before. The idea that Black Sapphire cookie, Candy Apple cookie, Pavlova cookie are their children will always be a teeny bit of a stretch for me but it's fun to think about. The most simple explanation was that he hadn't. Shadow Milk Cookie was never the type to simply "forget."

He obviously came here for some reason, but Pure Vanilla currently lacked the patience to deal with him.

Pure Vanilla sighed and looked down, strands of golden hair falling onto his face. "If there isn't a reason for this talk, I'll be heading to bed."

He began to leave without a response; and for some reason, Shadow Milk seemed to be allowing it.

How odd.

Pure Vanilla stood in front of the balcony door, fixated on the silver handle.

Stunning engravements were carved on it. They were, though he only reluctantly admitted it, quite intricate. The moonlight found its way to accompany the little design in a way that elevated it greatly.

He found it hard to believe that Shadow Milk had paid such close attention to something so... pointless.

As Pure Vanilla turned the handle (or attempted to) and saw that the door had not budged, it became evident that Shadow Milk was not keen on having him leave so easily.

That explains the unusually passive behavior...

"Well? What are you waiting for? Come back here. I just want to talk to you."

His tone sounded like he was speaking to a dog. It was absolutely degrading, and Pure Vanilla hated every moment of it. Yet...

Shadow Milk feels himself staring a bit too much, but... it's just to annoy Pure Vanilla, right?

And when he moves his hand up to cup his face, that too is surely just to annoy the other..

"You've been staring for quite some time now," Pure Vanilla says. He's met only with a small hum. Shadow Milk remains as shameless as ever with his staring.

Then, he looks at the key design that adorns his robes. "So, Pure Vanilla- oh, I guess you go by Truthless Recluse now, huh?"

Shadow Milk struggles momentarily to come up with a fun nickname for that.

"I think I'll just continue saying Nilly. You're fine with that, right?"

"No. I never said-"

Shadow Milk gently tucks a strand of the other's hair behind their ear, interrupting them.

It's only after the sudden silence that he realizes how intimate the action was.

But oh... how he wished to remain like this for just a little while longer.

And perhaps move a little bit closer?

Oh, what was he thinking? He couldn't possibly think that this... feeling... was anything good.

And so, suddenly, Shadow Milk feels himself move away.

He can't allow himself to become vulnerable infront of someone like him.

Or anyone, really.

He knows the other must notice how flushed his face is; and he prays with all of his soul --(or perhaps lack thereof?) that he'd just ignore it.

Alright everyone here’s something that does not matter: THEORY THAT FOUNT OF KNOWLEDGE HAD HIS EYES CLOSED MOST THE TIME JUST LIKE PURE VANILLA

All depictions of the Fount of Knowledge do not show his eyes, except the statue, which shows them closed. The other picture? Just a depiction of Shadow Milk with his eyes closed that I included cuz… it’s a depiction of him with his eyes closed? Tbh im rlly confused about why he’s shown with his eyes closed there, Mystic Flour makes sense, but why Shadow Milk, he’s the only one actually present in that update-

ANYWAYS! Truth is often shown as closed eyes in CRK lore, and deceit with open eyes, so it makes sense for the Fount of Knowledge to have closed eyes. Shadow Milk also seems to project a lot of his past self onto Pure Vanilla, so there must’ve been similarities between them, the closed eyes and staff with an eye (the soul jam looks like one) could be another one of their similarities.

Now a lot of ppl already probably thought this, and it’s not very interesting, so here’s my OTHER not interesting theory:

Shadow Milk (including FOK yes) HATES wearing hats!!!

Look again at the Fount depictions. He is only wearing his crown in TWO of them. And they are the most grand depictions of him. Meaning, he’s only wearing it when necessary. Also, if we take into account that his silhouette in the Beast Yeast trailer was wearing a Sage of Truth hat or whatever, yet NONE of the Fount of Knowledge depictions show him with one, then instead of saying that silhouette wasn’t accurate we can just say that he doesn’t like to wear that hat.

And then Shadow Milk himself! He has a jester hat, which is also a crown that his LOADING SCREEN TRIVIA talks about, YET HE HARDLY EVER WEARS IT??? He wears it in like ONE sprite, HOLDS it in another (technically 2), and that’s, like, IT. Hardly any depictions of him even include it. Why???

Obviously the answer is: Shadow Milk does not like wearing hats. Never has, never will, unless the Sage of Truth universe becomes real. Idk why he suddenly likes to wear hats. Character development? I don’t really see not liking to wear hats as a flaw perhaps he just has sensory issues. I mean his hair IS somewhat alive maybe it’s sensitive. Idk. Clotted Cream Cookie finds your reasoning almost amusing, what do you mean you wished to see them on a larger scale? He finds it cute when he sees you genuinely happy when you figure out how to do it and it succeeds. Can’t help but give a small round of applause and a knowing smile in secret.

If you just leave the TV on while you do other things, he likes to silently observe your mini routine and finds it entertaining when or if you ever fall asleep, whether that be playing the game, doing work ect ect.

Oh he wishes he can escape and help you back to your own bed, he’s more than happy to you know. After all you’ve done, helping fellow cookies become stronger and helping alongside ginger brave and his friends. You deserve rest too.

If you’re aware you may hear him gently talk to you through the screen, perhaps a small reminder of where you put your keys. He saw you put them on the coffee table!!

Black Forest loves this, she’s already looks up to you and sees you as a being like if not higher then the witches. To then hear that you wanted to see all of them on a larger scale and put them on a device where they’ll be able to in turn see you better.

She’s so happy, she loves seeing your outfits every day more clearly as opposed to having to guess what else you wore as all she could likely see was maybe the shoulders up. Or waist up.

If you’re aware, she uses the opportunity of the TV being on and running to compliment you for your outfit or skills. She absolutely adores you. Maybe she’ll ask you if she can see you in wedding attire.

Pure Vanilla definitely tries to calm other cookies down if you’re aware of them. Pulling Shadow Milk away so he doesn’t cause a ruckus as you try and eat. Gently advising Black Forest to give some space.

You may essentially be their “God” but you deserve respect and care. He’ll ensure other cookies behave and don’t bother you all too much. He finds it flattering you wish to see them better, he had assumed the phone (or tablet) you’ve been using was enough for you, you could take them anywhere after all.

But you want to see them bigger? He can’t help but blush a bit. How’d they get so lucky with such a kind hearted “God”

! Sage Of Truth Corrupted Au !

( Or : “The Sage And Beast Of Truth Au” )

This an Au evolving around the Sage of Truth and Truthless Recluse. More or less my spin on the alter world they’re meant to be from.

“The Fount of Knowledge was the only virtue to have not fallen to corruption.” Is what they always said. It wasn’t true though. He simply managed to be become fallen in an opposite direction to the rest of the virtues. Leaving him the only one saved from having his souljam split in two and locked away in the sliver tree forever.

Instead of falling into deceit like Shadow Milk does, he instead falls into truth. Using the hard blunt and unfiltered truth to lead people wherever the information takes them. He does not care for their emotions or if they hurt by the truth. He doesn’t care about his people at all for the most part. Unless they happen to be servants he keeps close (ie: White Sapphire Cookie and Caramel Apple Cookie), he couldn’t care less about what ends up happening to them. As long as it’s the truth, he won’t care.

He doesn’t go and outright hurt people. He prefers less direct means of dealing with people. Words he finds deal much more damage to a person than physical wounds could ever. He still writes plays and does plenty of stuff similarly to Shadow Milk, but instead of weaving lies and deceit into them he weaves the truth.

Truthless Recluse, despite not having the Souljam, is still Shadow Milk’s opposite. He’s still an ancient and still meant to “talk” to the Sage Of Truth. He still lives at the top of the peak of truth. He’s been planning on how to take down, or recruit depending on what happens, the Sage Of Truth for years since he found out about the ‘virtue’ years before the events of beast/yeast would happen. Having gained a small following of 3 teens who used to travel the world (Gingerbrave, Strawberry Cookie, and Wizard Cookie). He feels prepared enough to finally start.

Which is where this Au Starts. Truthless Recluse slowly trying to take down, recruit, or manipulate the Sage Of Truth into giving up truth. He uses the little information about the Fount of Knowledge against the Sage Of Truth to do so.

My want is to have both of them play the parts of Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla. So show case how falling into truth has made the Sage weirdly alike to Pure Vanilla, but how he’s still Shadow Milk no matter which way he falls into corruption. To show how Truthless Recluse is still Pure Vanilla deep down, but still has sickening traits of Shadow Milk in him. To have Truthless ending up manipulating the Sage just like Shadow Milk did to PV in the CRK timeline. To have the Sage do it back to try and take down this person who’s trying to ruin all of his hard work. They’re both still so curious and intrigued by each other in the same ways PV ends up and SM always was, but they’re also so focused on their mission they don’t realize how it’s affecting their actions.

Truthless instead of taking down the Sage via his original plan, opts to just manipulate the Sage into following deceit. Trying to isolate him from the ones in his kingdom and everyone outside of it so that he may have the Sage to himself.

The Sage not stopping the other or using violence to get out of the situation like he would otherwise. Instead manipulating the other back, to get him to fall into the truth and stay in his kingdom forever.

It’s a mix of emotions, manipulation, violence, and heartbreak. In the end though, Truthless Recluse technically wins. The Sage runs away from his kingdom once their big ‘battle’ is over as to save his own life (and his two most important followers/kids). Truthless Recluse left to deal with the aftermath and hunt the Sage down.

Their big ‘battle’ is similar to the one SM and PV have in a way. The Sage and Truthless don’t actually fight. Simply argue. And through the power of plot convinces the Sage’s souljam ends up splitting. ‘Awakening’ Truthless Recluse. The Sage is stunned by this turn of events, and once Truthless asks him to stay with him. He bolts with WS and CA as fast as he can. Leaving his years and years of research behind in hopes to never see the other again.

Of course that doesn’t happen.

And that’s it. I’ll eventually draw what they look like later. I have exams to study for.

BEAST YEAST EP 8 SPOILERS TECHNICALLY

The names I came up with for this story is

1. Truly Truthless

2. World of Deciet

3. Chaos in the Midst of Deciet

Basically Pure Vanilla has actually fallen to deceit, and can’t find his way to the truth. He also doesn’t understand why he would want to see anymore truth.

Yet he needs to protect his friends.

Follows the story up to the part Gingerbrave, Strawberry, and Wizard gets pushed off. Pure Vanilla’s entire soul hurts too much to bare. He tells Shadow Milk that it is still his souljam, and that there are 2 soul jams of Deceit.

The two cookies of deceit, both capable of powerful magic, starts to spread the realm of Deceit. It grows as Candy Apple and Black Sapphire is instructed to spread Deceit. Truthless Recluse doesn’t create any lies, instead choosing to spread the realm and watch the chaos.

Meanwhile Gingerbrave, Strawberry, and Wizard is saved by Fortune Teller Cookie who tells them it’s too late, and there is no way for them to save the cookie they once knew. He can feel it in his soul, as the Truthless Recluse and Fortune Teller Cookie is technically the same person.

Of course, they are determined to enter the spire, yet Fortune Teller Cookie knows they will actually die if they do. He brings the gang away as he explains that the other ancients, who know him better, is the only ones who can break him out of it. The more lies that Truthless Recluse says, the closer he is to staying a cookie of deceit.

It’s a race against time to go back to Crispia and talk to the ancients, to bring Pure Vanilla back and take down Shadow Milk.

“Come onnnnn- you should spread at least one lie!!”

Truthless Recluse considers it. One that will work for all sides he wants. Not allowing his friends to get in the way of deceit and not allowing his friends to join him in the spire.

“One lie.”

“Ooooooo and what would that be.”

A message not to mess with the first cookie of deceit. Also allowing him to stay unknown in town.

“That Pure Vanilla Cookie has been crumbled by your hand.”

So the awakened ancients think Pure Vanilla Cookie is dead. All the kingdoms besides the Vanilla Kingdom having more rumours and lies throughout.

The fairy kingdom (being the closest kingdom to the spire) having more problems and is more hostile. As their first destination, meeting up again with White Lily Cookie.

Writing the Cinnamon AU is hilarious to me because Milkcrown is out here causing mass bi panic with just how she is while Shadow Milk is causing a freaky awakening for Pure Vanilla

White Lily is thinking ‘oh she’s like a goddess’ and Pure Vanilla is thinking ‘oh he could eat me alive /pos’ and it’s fucking hilarious

Even better when you remember this is the same person they’re talking about just different halves of the same soul so technically they’re both crushing on the same person at the same time they’ve just met them in different places
