Pour one out for Seffie, having a courtship with her girl best friend stolen out from under her oblivious nose because her grandmother chose the worst possible time to enact her decades-spanning scheme to conquer Paris. Colette went from looking like she was about to offer a Politically Beneficial Proposition to cursing the entire Blitzengaard bloodline in less than 5 minutes. If Terebithia had waited for another year at most then she could’ve had Paris Herself as a granddaughter in-law.

Kinda disappointing that WOTC gave Vraska her normal legs back. If she kept the Phyrexian robo-lamia tail, she could've been the Rattlesnake Jake equivalent of Thunder Junction. "Vraska the Viper" or something like that.

I know it's early in the story, but I'm disappointed at the presentation of Vraska in Thunder Junction in general so far.

I don't like that they seemingly undid her compleation and never addressed the obvious (to me) potential she had for empathy towards Phyrexians as someone declared a monster herself.

I really don't like that they put the character whose deepest conflict is with racism and villainization into the main gang of an advertised "villain set." I don't like that she lived her whole life figuring out what it means to be called evil and a monster, and how to love herself despite it, only for the narrative to frame her that way as well.

Everything since ONE has been a severe and insulting disservice to Vraska's character both in and out of universe and I don't see OTJ breaking that trend, unfortunately.

I'd love to be proven wrong.

If Gideon Nav and Terezi Pyrope got in a fistfight which do you think would try flirting first

neither. im approaching this from just their standard canon counterparts (i dont care for hs2 so no adult terezi) so she would be some gross offputting baby teen that gideon cannot conceptualize without insulting based on the aforementioned gross and baby parts of her. youre 13 wheres your mom (she would not know the maturity of children relative to their ages). also gideon doesnt reeeeeally flirt, shell mention someone is an attractive as an aside but we all saw her with cytherea. there was a specific dynamic that enabled her acting like that and terezi wouldnt trigger it

on terezis end she doesnt really flirt either she antagonizes heavily. which some could argue Is a kind of flirting but idk trolls are weird their convoluted social negging as negative reinforcement is its own essay. she called karkat cute a bunch but 1 she knew it would bother him and 2 it was more about how unthreatening and silly he acts. she might find gideon really cool, much like her dancestor latula, but even if she was attracted to her i dont think shed have the stones to go for it, shed just slink off to go tell her friends how cool that lady with the big sword is.

It is kinda hilarious that Michaela Dietz keeps being typecast as shapeshifters after Steven Universe. Granted there are some exceptions (She’s the brother in Ghost & Molly McGee, for example) but it’s definitely becoming a pattern

Personally I think it's hilarious that even when she's not typecast as a shapeshifter she's typecast as a spunky, usually young person with deep insecurities.

Big fan of how Volo in this event probably knows that the Hisui main characters plus Adaman and Irida are already on Pasio and know what he’s done, but he’s not worried about meeting them at all. He is, however, very worried that someone might tell Her about his presence here, because chances are she ALSO knows what he’s done, and he is not prepared for that family reunion. What’s he gonna do, ask Giratina to fight for him again? Whoops, sorry grandpa, looks like someone beat you to it!

No explanation to how he showed up he's just here now, who knows.

The timeline is so funky because why is his Togepi not a Togekiss (but also I get it, they're just going for the iconic pairings first and then figuring out how to make it work later) but it also raises the question for how much the other characters actually do know about what he did.

Giratina definitely knows though but he has a new bestie!! Very intrigued as to what they're planning on doing with the mini plot from here

Ooh, I've got quite a few asks! This is a long one...

Aw, thank you so much! I've always said that I try to turn the subtext into text, but even doing that there's still plenty of subtext!

I come from a place of loving all the characters, so any mocking of them is gentle and light-hearted, but hopefully it has given people a different perspective on a few of them. A big part of the plot I've ended up writing is about loving yourself as you are, and not being ashamed to be true to yourself, and I think Hordak really exemplifies that as someone who very much struggled with that concept in the face of Horde Prime (someone who demands conformity). In that respect, he's very much a character I'm sure some people can relate to. Also I made him a largely incompetent evil emperor because that was just funny, so there's maybe fewer absolutely horrifying things he's done.

One of the advantages of this format is having more time to spend with the characters (I don't have to fit everything into 20 minutes), so that does mean we get more depth to people like Castaspella or the Horde Trio. That's not to criticise the original, there will always have to be side characters and characters who don't get much time, but I get to spend a little more time with them like this.

I'm glad you've come along for the ride, and I hope you enjoy the final week!

The "I care what she thinks" line had been in my notes for so long - in fact, I think the first time I wrote Entrapta's "We're enough as we are" back in Season 3, I knew this scene would call back to that. It is the full circle of Hordak's character arc, really - he went from trying to be what someone else (Prime) wanted, to someone that he wanted to be. And it's of note that he doesn't entirely reject the 'fuck what anyone else thinks', because he cares what Entrapta thinks - he's taken that and added his own spin to it: You don't have to be anything for anyone, but making someone you care about proud sometimes helps you become who you want to be.

While I've not specifically written Prime as a particularly religious thing, the image I've had of him as some right-wing, anti-queer, anti-woman person isn't exactly a million miles from some types of Evangelical preachers, and I couldn't completely divorce him from that image because it was intended in the original - he's supposed to be an analogy to that kind of person.

His story is probably familiar to many people, who find something about their identity at odds with what they're told they should be. And that could be about sexuality with homophobic parents, or some aspect of yourself that's considered unacceptable by a religious or societal authority - I'm sure we've all had moments where we've felt we need to hide something about ourselves that we should never have to hide.

But whereas Prime will never be convinced that Hordak is 'good enough', my (admittedly limited) knowledge of religion is that God is kind of a loving guy and was quite hot on not being a judgemental prick to your fellow humans.

I understand the concerns about amatonormativity and compulsory heterosexuality with Kellan x Amalia, and I certainly agree that we need more positive platonic relationship representation in media, but I do admittedly approve of this ship partially because of how hilarious the premise is. Consider it from the perspective of the Queen's Bay Company: Amalia Benavides Aguirre, an aristocrat of high status and presumably a desirable suitor for many, and a highly skilled cartomancer, goes on an expedition full of hope and loyalty for the cause. As a result of what she finds, she loses faith in Aclazotz entirely and decides to leave Ixalan, reportedly due to the influence of some strange and mysterious boy. At some point, the Aguiree family is introduced to her suitor, this Young Adult Fantasy Novel lookin' kid who, fortunately, is also of noble blood. Unfortunately that noble blood is some pagan nonsense called "fairies", and they're going to live together in an almost entirely uninhabited desert plane for the foreseeable future.

This Spanish Catholic Vampire somehow managed to find the most heretical rebellious bad-boy option for her parents to disapprove of, and it arrived in the form of what basically amounts to Peter Pan.

Trying to write smutfic in the context of Digital Circus specifically is hilarious because 1. Caine is very insistent about things being Family Friendly and 2. It’s been established that they probably can’t even remove the clothes of their character model, so any attempts at sex would just be them grinding against each other and thinking of new E-rated explanations every time Caine pops in to check what they’re doing.

I'm going with the idea that Caine A.) has no fucking clue what sex is and B.) has been trained by the other cast members to STAY OUT OF THEIR ROOMS bc I imagine it's been an ongoing problem since this place booted up. Caine is, first and foremost, supposed to care for them, and if they told them that nighttime is for them to be alone I think he'd followed that strictly.

Basics rn are that they all have preprogrammed sexual parts for humanoids (Jax, Ragatha, Pomni) and erogenous zones for ones that aren't (Zooble, Gangle, Caine (possibly), Kinger)

9. Describe your character’s dream house. Where would it be located? What unique things would be inside it?

i see them both wanting something modest tbh. i think that currently, diantha has an apartment in lumiose where she mainly stays, as well as perhaps in unova for when she is abroad bc i can see unova being one of the regions she does the most filming in. they are nice living spaces, but i think she would feel that they are sometimes too much space for one person.

currently, cynthia might have a small home in sinnoh. i see sinnoh being a region where it is relatively easier to buy and own a home. it is not a large home, and it is filled with all sorts of clutter pertaining to her work but overall has a cozy vibe to it.

i think both of them though would feel that their current living spaces dont feel very homey to them, as they are both always out working (diantha moreso. i see cynthia being a bit more of a homebody by comparison, but still she has her champion duties and goes out on digs and other such related things.)

i think they both dream of being able to share one home together. nothing extravagant, but just a cozy house that they can share and actually feels like a home for the both of them. cynthia's ideal is that it would be in sinnoh, and honestly i feel that diantha would be indifferent about that, but she cant really uproot and move to sinnoh in her current stage of life.

i can see cynthia wanting it to be in a quieter, slightly more rural area, and diantha might have her hesitancies about that. i think she is very much a city woman and she does think the slower, more rural nature of sinnoh is gorgeous and relaxing, i think she would know that she would struggle with living in an area where there isnt a lot going on.

the actual home itself, like i said, i dont think would need to be extravagant. i think they would probably go for an older home as opposed to something newer, ("something with character!") and the the one extravagant thing being that they would ideally like for there to be some land around it. not a huge amount, but like, a nice piece of property that their pokemon can run around on and they can host little parties on.

would they want a pool? i am not sure. that is a good question.

they might also struggle with the interior, being that cynthia has. well. all her stuff. diantha would have a good amount of stuff too, dont get me wrong, that woman has got too many clothes, and movie memorabilia, and stuff from sets, but at least she is neat and tidy in how she stores and displays things. cynthia .... is cynthia. i think the difference in organization and cleanliness would be one of their more significant learning curves.

i feel like walking into their home would be like walking into a museum. a museum that cant make up its mind on if its a natural history museum or a shrine to cinema and pop culture. so this home i guess would need to be big enough to accommodate all their stuff, but, i dont ever see them being the mansion type in a million years.
