Ostatnio, w wyniku dyskusji o trzecim sezonie Discovery, uświadomiłem sobie, że nie pamiętam, skąd wiadomo, że Romulanie mają napęd niewrażliwy na zapłon dilitu. I są chyba dwa odcinki TNG, które o tym mówią. To jeden z nich z owym napędem w roli głównej. Odcinek wymazał się z mojej pamięci. Oglądając go ponownie oczywiście się przypominał, ale nie na tyle, by wiedzieć, co zaraz nastąpi. Zaskakująco dobrze się to oglądało.

Jeden główny wątek detektywistyczny, czyli co tu się dzieje i kapitan oraz Troi, Geordi i Data na tropie.

Fantastycznie prowadzony technobełkot. Można uwierzyć absolutnie w każdą głupotę, bo jest po prostu dobrze sprzedana, jak np. efekt szoku temporalnego podobny do szoku szybkiego wynurzenia płetwonurka. To wspaniała technika metafor używana w TNG przy tworzeniu dialogów z technobełkotem. I te metafory absolutnie świetnie działają.

Troi jest tu nawet logiczna, nieirytująca i profesjonalna.

Są wątki komediowe na granicy absurdu, jak ta powyżej z uśmieszkiem narysowanym na wybuchającej plazmie z rdzenia warp ale i typowe dowcipy sytuacyjne, jak drapiąca Rikera kotka oraz Data analizujący upływ czasu poprzez wpatrywanie się w czajnik gotujący wodę.

Ale moje największe zaskoczenie w tym odcinku, to pomysł na manipulacje czasowe z motywem przewijania wstecz. Ten odcinek to praźródło głównego pomysłu fabularnego Nolanowskiego Tenetu!

Tu po prostu mamy ten niezwykły balet, gdy jednocześnie jedna linia czasowa toczy się wstecz a jedna do przodu. Niesamowite. Proste środki ówczesnego serialu telewizyjnego a świetnie działa i wizualnie i fabularnie. Szczerze mówiąc, to jest znacznie logicznej poprowadzone niż w Tenecie.

Z innych spostrzeżeń.

Spotkanie się z odcinkiem już dojrzałego okresu serii boli, jak porównać to z dzisiejszym serialem o Picardzie. Oj boli. Jak dzisiaj brakuje mi tego technobełkotu, zagadki czegoś co się odkrywa także w SNW i LD.

Jeżeli ktoś obejrzał niedawno Tenet lub zamierza to warto sobie przypomnieć ten odcinek i docenić ten jego "taneczny" element.

Valdo Marx headcanon:

he's a perfectly likeable guy and him and Jaskier just fight on grounds of musical genre...and that they used to fuck.

but unlike the many stories ive seen where Valdo plays pretty classical "highbrow" music and jaskier plays things "only suited for a bar" its flipped.

imagine a valdo thats like a mix of timmy timato and ninja sex party...or flight of the Conchords... Valdo writes parody and satire that the masses say isnt really music at all. hes experimental and jask found that fascinating.

jaskier likes valdos music and they even tried to date. but when jaskier tries to write something like a bo burham or trixie mattel song it fails hard... remember the abortion song reception....

they break up and its ugly.

so jask is secretly jealous of valdo's ability to write stuff like "my fart is forver" (timmy timato) or "heartboner" (ninja sex party) and instead writes beautiful or epic songs like "toss a coin" or "her sweet kiss."

valdo accuses him of pandering to the public... not being able to write anything outside of the box... but really valdo is just butthurt they broke up even though he knows they weren't that great together. Valdos out there making songs like "wondering tonight" (ninja sex party) about jaskier.

then they meet again later at some lords house or something... jask has geralt with him... and jask goads valdo saying he cant right an epic... then valdo busts out a banger like "tribute" by tenecious d and even geralt likes it... he hums it on the way out of town. and jaskiers just like "if i ever get my hands on a djinn so help me"

Is there any more information you can give us on Aarya's personality? I thought Aarya's personality description was very similar to what I think Alexis is like, and I'm curious to know the similarities and differences between them!

In general, the two have many similarities: level-headed, tenecious, a bit curious. 

When it comes to differences, at the beginning of the story, it’s most likely that Aarya has a much calmer personality than Alexis. (Can it be called maturity? There is an age difference after all :’D ) 

Of course, over the game, you’ll probably notice a few very glaring differences between the two. But that’s something for you to explore and we won’t take that away ;)

What card represents me as a diviner? I felt drawn to the Thoth today... as many of you know I own many tarot decks. It's been a while since the Thoth called me. I always forget how much I love this deck until it is in my hands again. ♡ Ironically the card I was pulled to is the same as my significator card for this deck. Each of my decks, over time and connection with them, will choose a significator card for me. Try as I might to choose another that I was drawn to in the deck, the Thoth is as stubborn and I in its insistence. So, Queen of Discs it is... The Queen of discs is the watery aspect of earth... fitting since, as a witch, the water and earth elements draw me the most. I joke about being a mud witch very often. She is concerned with physical nourishment as means to nourish internal aspects... the mundane and often overlooked needs of living in a corporeal form. She looks back over a barren land she has crossed, with much difficulty, as she rests and contemplates in her oasis. Clarity and enhanced perception are hers, as are an earned toughness, teneciousness, and independence. She had made this journey by her own will and strength, and that victory and power is not lost on her. As a diviner, the Queen of Discs is stoic but not without imagination for possibility. Her intense clarity and perception can sometimes be scathing. Her tenacity and independence has a tendency intimidate others who have not undergone the same struggles and gained the same sense of entitlement and power. She may come off as self serving as her focus shifts to her needs. She does nothing by half, for when she gives to others she gives of herself entirely... but when her focus returns to her needs she becomes equally enveloped in herself. She has a solid foundation for her skills and practice which may unintentionally place her in a rut... she is benefitted by reminders to step outside of her normal routine to do and view differently. She is blunt and sometimes too rigid; she could probably benefit from compassion and patience with both herself and others. And ooooh boy is this card ever me... I struggle with how to hold my power and learnings without distancing myself from those who have not tread the same path. I am aware that many others find me intimidating, but I am not sure how soft I am willing to make my edges for the purpose of being inviting to others. It's a mistake I made in the past to a degree that was too much... and I lost myself and was subsequently wrecked by those I softened for... part of me is willing to be above and beyond those who cannot handle what I've become. Quality over quantity. I would be lying, however, if I didn't admit it was lonely. I would also be dishonest if I didn't admit that the things people assume and say of me, without knowing where I've been and what I've done, is hurtful. I am still uncertain if this is something I will grow accustom to and willing to live with, or if I will decide in time to soften edges again and release some of that control in order to be more communal with those around me.

I think this captured everything I was thinking bout in the right words. The dark angle CY, The monks conversation and VC not enacting on it. The lack of comedy and the distinction between the tones of the rest of the show until 16 and then this. I think it'd been great if we'd seen CY take the morally ambiguous path that we know was sorta rooted inside her earlier on. I think eps 8-15 is where we were all invested in the show and its characters and the relationships. Seeing VC choosing to love despite his fear - this emotion was not shown to us in anyway apart from risking to come visit her and the kiss and the villians being tenecious when in love. It definitely felt like we missed the journey from point A to point B which is why it was unsettling.

I watched the last two episodes of Vincenzo yesterday, but even in the midst of my viewing experience I was able to synthesis and analyze what I was enjoying and not-enjoying, what worked and what didn’t work (for me), so that itself says something about how immersive it was. Of course, Vincenzo is a great show — the action is sharp and satisfying, the schemes are elaborate and spectacular, the humor is cracky yet genuine, and the characters are so, so lovable. And I loved the romance side plot, because yes, I am weak. Still, the last 2-4 episodes strained some of that, and this is my take on why I felt not exactly disappointed, but underwhelmed in the final stretch. I’m also including what I did like at the very end, as that makes sense with how I’m structuring this kind-of-analysis.

Regrets Are 4 Fools

Why regret anything if you can not regret it? Regret is the lazy justification of not having done something that could have been done. Regrets bare unhappiness, for a lot of people. And, that affects more wpeople. Until, it poisons the whole world, paralyzed by...regret, i.e having done jack shit, when it was time to do something, letting tiny poo bags form monstruous pyramids. Are crab claws soft and comfortable? Tenecious to a fault, thorough, drilling ahead, 1 baby step, after 1 baby step. You know what i mean? Period. Thanks to Tumblr, i'm having fun. I should say thanks to the younger i needed to help me out. We balance each other out, i have the tolerance of age and experience, he has the maturity and responsibility i don't have. It's a misconception that young ones are less responsible, i believe in the opposite, i always relief on kids, if i don't have any, to Reason me properly. Hence, i have a few nieces, Amayayus and Puce, and four nephews, Nadimus, Kamalus, Raf, and mini JAM. I love the 6 of them eqqually. Amayayus is the Super Genius, she put me on my ass, alone, when she'll be 8, she'll already be able to put to shame most "psychologists", i ll make sure of that. Puce, by definition is my mini Big Dog, her new refusal to be fucked around by me, making her climb my chest, is a sign of good judgement and independance. I should respect what she enjoys. Nadimus is my mini best friend ever, Kamalus the mini-me, Raf and mini JAM, pieces of who i am. These are the costodians of my legacy. The best of my stolen paintings were meant for Megéve, as a surprise and deserved gift, in part for my eldest niece and nephews. Thank you, Virgin Atlantic, why did i spend hundreds, in excess luggage, for these paintings? I've tried for hours to get them back. Either Sir Bronson bought them, which is super kool, or, he owes me... in both cases, he'll do the right thing, if aware, i have no doubt, i discovered lately that he is a Good Genius. If human kindness was overflowing, as UB40 dubs on "Signing Off", then, every human being would be on Cloud 9... +2. The "other" completing the "self"... that's what "I" really means, a reconciled human being, body, mind, and soul, both input and output opened up. Something the 3rd eye can perceive, sometimes. And, yes? I believe in the third eye, essential part of potent forms of Meditation. Like waking up the Kundalini, through breathing, or focus on colours, representing chakras. I haven't mastered the delivery of words and musical ratios as well as my visual art. It's a wilder, more free form of Genius Manifestation. I have nothing to do with it, not as much as you, but i enjoy it. A recognized Genius, when Good, tries to live up to the honour. How is a Genius recognized? The second Genius, even under debate, is mentioned or considered next to her/his name. Geniuses never go under the radar. They disturb people by shaking their lethargy or create a paradigm change. In both cases, dead or alive, their legacy leaves a deep imprint in Humankind's perception. I owe Jim Morrisson, a Good Genius, the awareness of Blake's Doors of Perception. I knew more about Blake and his Taro(t) deck, though, than about the Doors singer. The rest of the band was Genius too, like Jimi Hendrix's EXP, or Eric Burdon's Animals or War. The latter is a riot, his cover of "Paint It Black", with War, not only reminds me of my early 20's trippy years with Gorka, Lolo? Supa Masse, and Chris "Drum****", sorry, "Woolfy", my contemporary hero in percussions, prove me wrong on 1 of my big bros. Don't underestimate the lil bro, though, he'll kick you in the nuts for dissing one of his big bros. Woolfy is a Genius Drummer. Period. Anyways, we make each other digress, be fair, you like the details, this cover is kick-ass. I can't hear it without wanting to play to it, like Moby Dick, for my ego to be humbled. Eric Burdon is a specimen, the Animals are unique and a huge influence. I suspect that they opened the doors of the Doors, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, and The White (not in a racist context) Stripes. All of them Genius Bands, bypassing the orthodox Beatles formation. Oh yeah, the Beatles were Geniuses, explorers, adventurers, but also created Metrics and formulas for all musical bands. No joke, Ringo's drum patterns and stick handling affected us more than we realize. You recognize a Master Genius when he is not scared to let others sit behind his drums. Paul and John realized that, George, Ringo's little bro, knew all along, you can't fuck with RS, he is unique, brilliant, and irrepleceable to perform The Beatles' Magic & Magik (John's input, after a Good Time at an O.T.O temple, in NYC. I"m not a Knight Genius, for nothing. I'm willing to bet 1 of my precious Rupees, from 1974, on it. I can almost see it? It's spooly that way, for a lot of you. But, then, we all realize that i lived in NYC, at 24 and 25, after graduating from an MFA? In San Francisco. Light makes the Truth clear. Those in the dark can only speculate, subjectively. As a midfle finger rule, if you can't prove it's false, remain quiet.
