📻 fox?
RNG gave me 5 which is Brightside by Arrested Youth!
The song is about continuing (and/or trying real hard) to look on the bright side even when everything around you - including your own mental state - is going wrong.
In relation to Fox: He is a creature that tries to maintain a positive outlook on life - at least outwardly - even if things end up not going his way. He relies on luck to get him through his day and trusts that even if the dice is not rolled in his favor that he will still come out on top.
He is also ridden with guilt over past actions, and attempts to absolve himself through acts of charity which, either on purpose or on accident, result in him benefiting not just karmically but socially as well. He tries not to think about how his good deeds may not be as wholesome as he believes them to be, how he is just playing the good guy to get what he wants.
The song also represents the state of the world that he lives in, where Fables are in conflict with one another. The well-to-do continue to benefit from the laws and regulations put in place while those less fortunate either have to submit to being treated like animals and exiled from society or turn to darker means in order to sustain themselves, which in turn lead to exile or death. Fox, a thief, is in constant danger of becoming like most others around him.

Probably didn’t articulate this well but Fox is a thief who wants to do good, who wants to change but also remain the same, who wants the power to change things but doesn’t want to run the risk of becoming something he’s not in the process of doing so.
He loves to steal not for the monetary gain but for the thrill of it, he gives what he takes away because it makes him feel better about himself but also he does want to help others.
He dons the persona of a Robin Hood because his only other option is taking advantage of those that are just as or more unfortunate than him - either through fear and manipulation like the Crooked Man or through power and regulation like Snow White.
He tries to ignore the fact that his generosity is a double edged sword that puts people in his debt even when he insists that they are not, which puts a blight on his seemingly “pure” intentions.
Even with his luck, the world Fox lives in is built to keep him in his unfortunate circumstances. He continues to steal because it is the only way he can try and build up the money to live a better life, but his status as a thief renders his attempts moot as those in positions of power do not trust him or accept him.
He walks the line of remaining as he is and thus stagnating, or becoming worse and perhaps succeeding in rising above his current social status - many around him choose the latter, and he lives in fear that he too will fall victim to greed and desire and thus forget who he is as he grabs for money, power, and status (hint: he’s already lost himself, briefly, but he managed to break free, but it nearly cost him his life).
Fox is constantly in conflict with himself and the world around him, and it’s something that eats at him. He allows himself to be governed by luck, which he perceives as some sort of higher being, and tries to remain in its favor by doing good - or having good intentions (or believing that he does). His continued good luck allows him to remain optimistic - at least outwardly - and he holds onto the belief that even if the cards aren’t in his favor he’ll come out on top regardless, and things will turn out okay. He loses faith every now and again, but tries not to think about it or let it show lest he falls into the mindset that turns him against his beliefs and his desire to do and be good, and he becomes what everyone believes him to be: a good-for-nothing thief.
