Uncrated Weekly Issue #7

I find myself in a crisis of monotony. It’s hard to call it a crisis exactly, since usually if you do nothing about a crisis, something really bad happens, but this isn’t really the case: in fact if I do nothing, nothing will happen. And I guess that’s the problem really: I’m staring down a lot of Mann Co. Crate #92’s. And then suddenly it all just feels like I’m wasting my time. I’m staring at the same old word processor, and writing about the same old game, same old words, same old roman alphabet. It’s just like this feeling that I’m spinning my wheels here.

Now, I could delude myself into thinking otherwise: maybe I open a different crate or increment the issue number a little, or maybe even use Microsoft Word, but I just think this is all biting around the edges. Real change comes from within, and since this is a TF2 Crate Unboxing blog, I think the answer is within… a tf2 crate. Let’s fucking go.

Now call me crazy, but I think this one’s going to be the one.

Oof, I don’t think that’s ever getting any easier to see. Whatever anxiety or feeling of worthlessness that reading about monotony might evoke is fucking peanuts compared to pulling another Strange Candy Cane. Despite this, I believe I’m just going to have to make peace with this item, because this probably isn’t going to be the last time I’ll spend a key on it.

I have a draft where I pretty much mansplain the Mercs' personalities (character introspection? pfffft– who's that?) just as my own little guide.

Anyway, Demoman is actually over thirty years old. If you read the panel correctly it should be obvious.

That goggle-less Engineer model is fanmade, as Engi's official model has no eyes. But, thanks to the comics, we know that Engi's eyes are blue (just like every other Merc except Demoman **sigh**)

Tf2 details that a lot of people get wrong:

Demoman is most likely under 30, making him either the third or second youngest out of the cast.

Scout can drive. He even has that taunt where he drives that little scooter.

Snipers glasses were likely given to him by his dad.

Engineer is NOT the most sane of the mercs, that actually goes to Heavy. He has a severe God complex (line: "I am a GOD!") And cut off his arm cuz why not. He also has green eyes, not blue.

Medic is terrible at naming things. I just think this has a lot of potential for jokes.

Pyro is completely aware they're setting stuff on fire, they just like wearing their mask. They also aren't a kid despite how Miss Pauling talks to them.

Spy isn't as professional as people think. He takes 7 seconds to piss on a wall, and Miss Pauling tells him to wash his mask since he never takes it off.

Soldier WAS racist until he met Zhanna.

Finally, Heavy. I don't even need to explain anything. His entire CHARACTER is always mischaracterized to be Medic's alpha boyfriend. He's arguably the most caring one out of the mercs.

Uncrated Weekly Issue #9

Hello to my fellow Crateheads out there, back with a weekly issue of Uncrated Weekly. I don’t know if you just missed that or not, but that was a fucking lie. I just lied to my readership, and more importantly I cheated my readership out of the truth. I did this to prove a point, and that point is: I cheat on things now.

It all started when I got hit in the head really hard. Luckily this was during a game of basketball, so this incident turned into another possession. After that, I’ve found myself getting fouled a lot more, and getting a lot of possessions. That turned into 'maybe I actually didn’t touch that ball last', or maybe 'I did happen to change lanes in the middle of an intersection'. Yea, maybe I did draw an extra card and get an extra point, so what; life goes on. And that’s my message out into the universe: cheating does not matter. Even to the philosophers out there, under no reasonable philosophy could you possibly believe that cheating is bad. Utilitarians wouldn’t believe it, and ethical non-realists and pragmatists don’t believe anything, so unless you grew up as a Stickler Youth, with no guiding principles other than to eliminate cheaters from the gene pool, you can’t reasonably be against cheating. 

So, why am I writing this? I’m writing this because most people cheat, and while I want cheaters to feel bad about what they’re doing, I feel that some people don’t cheat enough. There are many times in life where you can cheat without consequence; and not just without consequence, but also without doing anything damage. If you’ve ever been forced to play this board game, “Root”, you’d know that it sucks. That’s not to shit on Root; maybe if you like Root, that game that sucks for you is “Hide and Seek” or “52 Card Pick-Up” or maybe something like the “Quiet Game”. Whatever the case, if you find yourself beholden to a rule set that is directly or indirectly sapping you of your joy, it is worth examining the nature of such rules. That is why I cheat, and I encourage all my fastidious Crateheads to think about the thrill of chasing a questionably earned 6 point game, before they contentedly wag their tail, having to show for their toil but 5 measly points.

Anyways, time for the unboxing… Before I go, this one’s going to be a real killer. Alright, and show time.

Highgaurd Tarn

I really hope we get to see Tarn in TFone (Tftwo?) because I feel like he would have a very interesting relationship with D-16. In 

comparison to the other highgaurds: Starscream would just want to usurp him, Soundwave would be just be completely loyal to him, and shockwave who is kind of a wild card at the moment. Tarn I feel would play a crucial role in persuading D-16 into a more villainous role. Not only would his connection to megatronous serve as an interesting dynamic, but his conflicting personality would meld well with the emotionally wrecked D-16 at the end of the movie. He would prey upon the emotional turmoil wrought by Orion Pax’s ‘betrayal’ worsening D-16’s mental state and his grudge against Orion. But idk.

TLDR; they’re like the worst uncle and nephew duo in the world.
