literally cheating time and space

I'm sure this has been said before but I'd just finished watching Sonic Prime finally (a few times too actually) and I wanted to write this down for myself. this post is about Renegade Knucks.

each shattered Knuckles is one trait of Knuckles Prime taken to a logical extreme for that shatterspace. Dread is stubbornness driven to obsession, Gnarly is cautiousness driven to paranoia, and Knucks, is sense of duty driven to devotion to a cause, and in this case the cause is the rebellion, the safety of those that need protecting. but I think when we get to season 3 and their goals changed, you can slowly see him shift that devotion to Sonic. the slowly it becomes clear that he's the embodiment of Sonic's relationship with Knuckles Prime.

Knucks doesn't really trust him still halfway through season 2, but as Sonic proves himself to be trustworthy, Knucks slowly warms up to him. he is the one given the line that Ghost Knuckles was stuck repeating. Sonic teaches both him and Dread how to spindash but Knucks is the only one who consistently uses it.

in the final battle in the Grim, Renegade Knucks sees Sonic getting his ass kicked and tells another version of himself that he's got places to be and leaves the post he was specifically assigned. the rebellion was always supposed to be on the battlefield bc they're the most experienced but he was able to, chose to, leave. for Sonic. as if driven to help him. protect him, even.

(Knuckles finally being able to be in multiple places at once. he can honor his duty and be by Sonic's side. he doesn't have to choose, not this time.)

and at the end, after the prism energy was extracted from Sonic and Sonic collapses, Knucks is there to catch him. he was ready to catch him. and he holds Sonic for as long as he needs to.

now i think i'll write a chapter for my WGTKITD? fic (LMK fandom) first just because writing about the complex character relationships and family angst does something to my brain

I'm glad to see things like Arcane Camisado, Summoner's Wrath, and a few other things finally bring some more interesting build videos to the Warframe community, they're certainly there but normally so few and far between. Like, wow! This Volt pet build using 4 augments and Desiccation is so cool and interesting! It's not just another "slap Nourish and Panzer Vulp/Nautilus Prime on it to win" video that makes me wanna throw myself into the fucking sun! I wanna try it! Nekros gets to be more than just Desecrate! Cool! People are talking more and more about the Mecha Hounds being godlike, awesome!

I fully understand Warframe is the minmaxers paradise and in general gamers will "optimize the fun out of everything" and genuinely I'm all on board with that but minmaxing is more than just strictly power and like 95% of build videos are either bad or so ridiculously cookie-cutter BUSTED PANZER VULP INSANE BROKEN NOURISH RED CRITS STEEL PATH NUKER shit you'll never need, it drives me up the wall.
