One thing I love about LoliRock is that they are one step away from being a Kpop group. And it's not the "they don't sing in korean" part, it's really the whole feel and melody of their songs.

(I know the inspiration is more 1D and Katty Perry, but I watched a video talking about how Western pop was inspired by Korean pop, so it's kind of a full circle moment, indirectly, they were influenced by Korean and even Asian pop in general. In one of the official promo art, they wear matching outfit, the kind Jpop idols have. I need to find that video and watch again tho)

Plus LoliRock and a lot of famous and influencal Kpop groups were active at the same time (around 2015, so at the end of the golden era of second gen and debut of the third one) so I kind of made a connection in my head at that time.

Even the group on itself tick a lot of boxes :

A strong group identity and aesthetic, themes (friendship, having a good time with your besties, party and magic), a sort of group formation, the girls all have coordinated outfits that still let their individual personality shine, and of course, a very pop sounding music accompagned by a choreography. It's consistent with Kpop more than any other country.

Now there is some Kpop songs that I think fit the girls, or I can see them perform, so I had fun making a list ! Here it is :

(I don't listen to a lot of Boy's Band so it's mostly Girl's Group. Plus, LoliRock have a very assumed girly vibe, like duh! they're girlz. It's not that boys are not allowed, but it's for the girlies first. Also I don't always look at the lyrics, I mostly go with the vibes the songs have)

Perfect Night - Le Sserafim

It's sooooo LoliRock ! 100% them ! First, the whole vibe of the song, then the lyrics fit too !

~ By the morning feeling magic

~ I got all I need, you know nothing can beat, the way that I feel when I'm dancing with my girls

Perfect energy, yeah we flawless, yeah we free ~

It remind me of "Party Talking". I imagine a sparkling night city for the scenerie, very MyScene. When "Night to morning, feel slow motion" hit, the stars slows down and create circles in the sky. At the end of the songs, the sun start to rise, introducing orange in the overall purple and blue background.

"Blue Flame" work too !

Maybe not a 100% fit, but it's giving "Never give up". I especially love the line ~I'll show what I'm made of, a heart full of fire, looking like a fighter~

And they do share the whole crystals motif ! (Seraphine give Iris vibes, no?)

Bubble Bath - Orange Caramel

Ok hear me out !! Doesn't it sounds like "We are magic" ?? Same vibes. Put the choreo on this song and see how well it fit! (ok maybe it's just me then...)

And, such a Aurianna song ! It's bubbly like her !

Girls' Generation

The Queens !!!

It's harder to imagine, because LoliRock are 3, and GG are 9/8 members. But GG have high feminine and united energy that totally fit LoliRock ! So I was thinking :

Maybe some of those suggestion are too cutsy for LoliRock, who mix cute and cool. GG does have japenese inspiration/origin I believe. You especially hear them in their first albums. But another strenght of GG is their Grandiose instrumental and dual of high voices they often have toward the end of the song. LoliRock could use some of that !

Lucky Girl Syndrome - Illit

LoliRock doesn't do romantic, wich is fine ! We love them for that ! Keep the friendship is magic theme please ! But they could soooo own it effortlessly ! The build up in the beginning is everything ! And the youthfull, fresh aspect of Illit is perfect for LoliRock !

XO - Enhyphen

Not a 100%, but for the same reason as Lucky Girl Syndrome. The fresh and romance part that is. And the instrumental... so heavenly...

XoXo is such a gimmick they could use (Didn't they got inspiration from Jenny Humphrey for some design ? Yeah, you know you love them)

Katseye - Touch

It's so girly pop !! Wich was the first name given to the girls before LoliRock, I heard. But yeah, it hit just right !

Miss A - Breath

Sooooo...

The independant Ladies.

Wich is kind of the problem.

LoliRock are girls, Miss A are woman, so they clash. There is no better way to put it.

But "Breath" is different. Colorfull outfits, fun energetic choreo, psychedelic backgrounds that are perfect inspo. The song is catchy and... a breath of fresh air in their discography. Very "LoliStep".

Again, I feel like it's an Aurianna song

(does the same work with "I don't need a man" ?)

Rock n Rule work so well too! It's so perfect for them, it's sound light and optimistic and the lyrics :

"That's how I rule [...] We party all night long"

"Let's rule the world! Don't stop! Let's this party go rock!"

"This is how we rock n rule"

"Cuz we came here to rule this world"

Like, yaaass girls! Go rule with your sparkles and positivity!!

We even have "Party rockers in the house"!! So 2010', so perfect!

STEREOTYPE - STAYC

It's fresh, it's calm, but it pop too! Like Illit, StayC have a bit of youthfullness to them, matching with the LoliRock ages (14 to 16). They already take advantage of it in a way; LoliRock kind of ""fantasisted"" partying and being cool. I see it as little sisters watching the eldest preparing to go out with their friends and coming back later than the younger, because they are allowed, because they are cooler. They have make up and stylish outfits that little sissy go through once their cool room is vacant. And now they are almost at the age when they can do that too ! It's exciting but they think it's like on the movies.

But it make them authentic, and the viewers relate to them. We could have a whole concept with it ! (OMGGG Imagine it with "Love fools"!! That kind of songs wouldn't hurt them! It's my fav StayC song^^)

I especially love how the lyrics and voices flow through the melody. And the choreography you could create on this ! The group formation switching as smoothly as the voices !

Airplane - F(x)

My favorite Kpop group of all time!!!!

Oh this one ! Might be the one who fit them the best (with Perfect Night). Like Oh My Goooood !!! Imagine little crystal airplanes flying everywhere ! That'd be so cute ! The girls with flying attendant uniform (wich is very Kpop/GG to do) Sparkly clouds and neon sign quickly scrolling inward on the screens (a moon first, then a diamond, finally a heart) between the "Come with me", "Airplane" and "Love" lyrics (hard to explain, just listen to it, it draws itself in your mind)

Talking about it, the chorus would play this way : Aurianna sing the first "Come with me-Airplane-Love", then Talia, and the rest is sung by Iris.

Honeslty, F(x) fit LoliRock a lot ! Like GG, but more because of the pop vibes.

Aespa - Bahama

LoliRock would absolutely crush it at summer songs !! They should do more of it !!! This one, with "Green light" and "Party", would work sooo well with beach outfits ("Airplane" too, if we don't go with flying attendant concept. Instead, it could be the girls taking a plane to go on vacation).

The lyrics "Take me to the ocean blue, surfing on the waves with you" already give solid background for the concert : sparkling, bright aquamarine waves, like those subgenre of Fruitiger Areo, mixed with Hibiscuses (Isn't a bit "Gyaru" too? I forgot the names -.- ...)

LoliRock as Summer girls is a NEED !!

B1A4 - Tried to Walk and ZE:A - Aftermath

I don't have a lot to say tbh, the melody just work. It's so 2010' pop rock. The guitar as a build up, that's something the girls do! It need more positivity tho, it's sound like break up songs lol

And those are Boy's Band, so we obviously lose in girly energy. But with some adjustement, I think LoliRock would eat those songs up like little strawberry biscuits ! why did I wrote that...

Other group that I feel could fit, but I haven't really found the songs :

WJSN - "Secret" or "Butterfly"? Man, that's sure is a lot of butterfly around, huh ? Anyway.

For the same reason given to GG ; It's very feminine. But too... modern? LoliRock as a very 2010 tumblr aesthetic about them that I love ! And it should stay ! PLEAAASE don't modernise them !!! It's part of their charm !! I mean, a biiig chunk of the suggestions I gave are from older generations, few are from the fourth or fifth. There's a reason for that.

S.E.S - idk I feelt like it XD I recently discover them, so i know like, 4 songs. But I feel there is one out there that would work. Or maybe they don't fit at all, like, "Soul to soul" is such a Bratz coded song after all. In the same way, Perfume probably have one, but I'm not too sure, Jpop and Kpop really sounds differently after all.

Was the one who originally introduced Levi to the game

Played from the beginning, season 1

Kept trying to get Levi to play but his brother kept refusing to on the principle that it was a game suggestion from Mammon and probably too normie for him

Generally plays jungle and champs with speedy clears

He also enjoys snowball champions and Azir (gold vibes)

When he plays TFT, he cannot econ, he has such a big problem with saving enough money and levelling properly (so he sticks to Hyper Roll)

Leviathan

Started playing LoL in season 4 after finally giving up on playing Dota 2

Once he started playing LoL he realised that the insistence on toughing out the terrible-ness of Dota was immensely not worth it but won't admit it

Definitely a mid lane and ADC main

Plays only skill shot champions in mid, probably a lot of mages (cough this man plays ahri)

Complains about "brain dead" champs like Sona and Brand breaking the game, then plays lux with her star guardian skin

His favourite skin line is actually the cosmic line, closely followed by star guardian

Really could not believe that LoL was the source material for such a great show but after browsing the LoL site he found the lore and binged it all, starting with Piltover/Zaun, in a single night

Whilst the world building was nice, he had gripes with how the lore was not the most cohesive

Thought that Draven and Darius really reminded him of Mammon and Lucifer respectively

Though gaming is not what he is the most familiar with, has begun to try his hand at Runeterra because he wants to itch that lore scratch that came from the incomplete feeling the base lore gave

Asmodeus

Loves KDA's music, outfits and vibes

Definitely stole Levi's cosplays for each of them and had his own mini photoshoot

Loved how sexy his take on Evelyn came out (<3)

Gaming is not a usual pastime for him, especially not PC gaming sessions where each game is 35 mins on average

Only knows about LoL after Belphie asked if he'd play double up with him when it came out

Did not really understand but came first with Belphie every time he joined by solely beefing up his tahm kench

Still does not entirely get the appeal but enjoyed playing with Belphie nonetheless

Has played TFT but has no interest in trying the main game

Only started playing once he could get the TFT DDD app

What do u listen to when u write and what particular song really boosts ur creativity?

For me evermore and folklore draw out some pretty cool creativity and feels for writing, but I’d love to know what music u listen to for writing and if it impacts the mood or events in your stories

ooooh! hi nonnie! good question!!! okay, so there are two asks about my (doubtable) music tastes but they’re different so i’m starting with this one.

this is.....HUGE. iasjiasjiasj i am so sorry, i went full out oversharing about myself here???? hope you don’t mind me. 

i love evermore and folklore!!! they’re really good for me when i’m writing plot or feelings and i’ve tried and failed once to write a song fic about it. but sara has a perfect, sad and loving one about champagne problems with bakugou.

to be very honest me with music is like this: i find a single music I love as fuck. them i hear it on repeat for ages. then i go to either spotify or youtube and hear the music/author playlist and then the cycle goes until i stop hearing it and move on. iajsiasjaijiaj the latest ones i had this going on was sam smith’s lighthouse keeper (i made a whole iwa/lee small angst/confort fic on dymph’s dms to this music) and vilain from kda (THIS IS OSAMU’S READER SONG AISJAISJ). i’m in a free-music moment right now so rec me songs!!! <3 

lately my go-to playlist was a playlist mix I had on youtube from love goes by sam smith, with names as paper kites, noah karran, jeremy zucker, kevin garret, finneas, ariana, daniel ceasar, john legend, more sam smith, taylor and also the occasional billie eilish. it was just a soft, loving playlist and it helped me because it didn’t disturb my thoughts as I wrote. that was the one I was on when writing the last fics since golden eyes, especially when I was trying to do plot and not smut. but overall I can also write smut with them if i’m on the right mind/inspired. 

lately i’m kinda struggling to find the right music to write and i’ve been on lots of lo-fi, slowed down r&b (which i already listen A. LOT) to focus. 

the way they impact me would be in getting me to feel /emotional/ when i’m writing. when i was listening to folklore, exile and this is me trying were definitely playing when i was writing p and p and it was such strong lyrics vibes there. the misunderstanding, the feelings. it helped me focus on the same things going on in p and p.  as for events, sometimes!!! but honestly it happens more on the smut than on the plot side.

so to make this shorter because i’ll write about the smut on the other ask AISJAISJIASJ what i mean is: soft, with low-beatings, loving songs are normally where i go when i’m writing. loud music can end up doing the contrary and like taking my mind off the groove, that's why i go for slow-down, lo-fi, soft pop musics, slowed r&b and stuff.
