Rejoicing in the fact that it is Friday, and I'm home free for the weekend! Which means more time to dedicate to my projects. >:)<

I've been feeling very inspired by somerknights' Burial Rites and Zarvasace's White Walls. They're both very fantastic, creative stories, and I particularly like the way that they use little details to seem more bizarre or unsettling or horrific. I am aspiring to have that level of awesomeness someday.

Anyway, I've been thinking about the AUs again because when am I not thinking about the AUs?

I started thinking about LU EAH AU Fi again. Her story is so tragic because it really was preventable! But nobody did anything, so now she's not exactly dead and not exactly alive. :( And I was thinking that, if she didn't lose her memories, she'd be a very different person.

Best case scenario, simply a sad story about loving someone so much you sacrifice your own happiness because you believe that they're inherently more valuable than you are. Which is the truly tragic part about this whole thing. Fi believes that Hylia's happiness is more important than her own happiness, to the point that she is willing to lie and suffer and give up her entire life for Hylia! And while her soul is being put to good use to save the world, there is absolutely no reason why she should treat herself as less morally valuable just because she's in love.

Worst case scenario, she'd become not only a holy weapon, but a likely corrupted holy weapon. I think it'd be awfully hard on her to be wielded by the reincarnation of Hylia's lover over and over again so that Hylia's reincarnation can be reunited with him, and that would probably allow space for some vices to grow. I get that the whole point is defeating evil and saving the kingdom, but the cycle started because Hylia loved Link so much she gave up her immortality for him. She basically died for him. Which... is romantic, but probably not the best idea.

Honestly, at this point the only person who hasn't died for their lover is Link, and that's probably going to change with the way this story seems determined to emulate Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare.

Uhhhh. Well! We hallucinate. Kinda infrequently nowadays, but back in... fuckinnnnnn 2015-2016 or so, I think? We had our first Big Psychotic Break. It was NOT fun! At all lmao! And our insomnia ramped the FUCK up. Things were Horrible.

But our old host was getting into MCR at the time, and shi finally sat down and listened to The Black Parade in whole and found this song, and... So much shit clicked into place for hir and for us collectively.

Shi played this song on repeat for DAYS, dude. Non fucking stop. It was one of the few things that really helped keep everything at bay. I remember shi didn't actually have the entirety of The Black Parade on our ipod yet so shi used a shitty lil "infinite loop" site shi found somewhere to play it at night cuz back then YouTube didn't HAVE a way to loop videos easily HFNDSNFN So that's how we slept for like... A week? I don't remember, I think all this was a couple years before I formed, actually!

But. Yeah. This one's Up There in importance for us. Our favourite lyrics are "the hardest part, is letting go of your dreams" / "the hardest part's the awful things that I've seen". Really rang true back then tbh.

a couple fun facts about this song too before we go:

It is one of two rose gold songs we're aware of, and is the reason rose gold is our favourite colour. The other rose gold song is Disenchanted, also off The Black Parade!

This song was recorded in, and is kind of about, the band's experience with sleeping in a haunted house! they recorded the black parade in the Paramour Mansion, rumoured to be haunted—from the Genius page on the song: This song features recordings of lead vocalist, Gerard Way’s, experiences with night terrors which he believes were invoked by the haunted mansion they recorded Black Parade in. fucking wild tbh

hello again anon!! yeah, ngl my interest in the dsmp has uhhhhh waned also because of Reasons. still love the characters, but im not gonna be watching any more of whatever comes next, i don't think.

i am tempted to go back and watch some of sam's, though, just because he seems like a really interesting and complex and tragic character from other people's povs and i am kissing him directly on top of his sad little morally grey conflicted duty-bound head. i love designs for him with the weird kind of non-centaur quadrupedal creeper stuff, i love the masks obscuring his face especially during prison arc to mirror him making a robot of himself, i love him as this weird sad grim warden of a duty he really didn't fucking have to assign himself. he's just..... ough.

also kghdfgk yeah there were. a lot of things that drove my schlatt to do what he did during election arc, but... ngl i don't think quackity really won there, per se. a win for everyone would probably have been if wilbur and quackity teamed up and had hot gay sex and schlatt slunk off to. idk. continue drinking himself to death and tormenting slimecicle across universes, or whatever the fuck he was doing before. wouldn't've been a win / happy ending for schlatt, but he's not gonna get one anyway soooooo
