Possibly controversial opinion: when it comes to those “evil toxic masculinity characters”, such as Patrick Bateman, Walter White, Tyler Durden and so on, I don’t think it’s really any more “media literate” to just deride them as bad people and stop there. Of course treating such characters as aspirational does show piss poor comprehension but I also think you’re not fully engaging with the text to say “this man is a BAD PERSON” and leave it at that. And in a lot of cases I think that it’s at the detrimental of actually examining such characters because you’re stopping to scream I DONT ENDORSE THIS every five seconds.

i'll be so honest i can't tell if its just like 10 people on twitter I stumbled on or if people are genuinely worrying the milgram project creator is misogynistic because they put yuno in milgram for a probable suicide attempt induced miscarriage instead of a medically induced abortion, like we thought before

like maybe they might be idk them personally and most people have at least a little misogyny engraved in their beliefs because of how the world is, especially right now

but its already been established that milgram (the prison not the project itself) is misogynistic. it's homophobic. it's ableist. it's label for a 'murder' and 'murderer' are intentionally vague and disagreeable. it relies on child labor. it's physically restrains and mentally tortures its prisoners, and doesn't care about their well-being. it leaves "justice" in the hands of one, intentionally underinformed individual (and then again in the hands of the biased masses watching for entertainment). it does not go along with morals or laws. it's aim is for judgment, information gathering and entertainment. These things are INTENTIONAL. milgram (again I'm talking about the prison) is corrupt. its BAD!!! it always has been!!! I'm pretty sure that's part of the point of all this.

How do you feel about Black characters in fiction who are just big, beefy men with like super sharp jaws? I feel like it's such a common trope. Like...you don't have so many people randomly looking like body builders.

Is it because of the general prejudice that Black guys are seen as threatening? Since I guess strong = can hurt.

But maybe I just made this up and I'm the only one who noticed this, I don't know.

Very often, Stereotype 👍🏾 Threatening, hulking, brutish, animalistic. Same reason that darker skinned people usually get designed as werewolves, or- and this is one I can't STAND- the Black or Ambiguously Brown muscular guy that's in physical or psychological chains by the skinny white Twink that's supposed to represent control over their primal sexuality and power or something. 🙄

Honestly, anyone has refused to start watching Doctor Who again or keep saying "the show died with Capaldi" are absolutely missing out.

These last 3 episodes have been an absolute joy to watch (and the last 2 are genuinely some of the best episodes I've seen of the show). Honestly, the last season and a half has been much more hit than miss.

in today's age where people still need to educate others because braindead mfs can't seem to understand that fanarts being reposted without permission are prohibited most by the artists unless you ask them/read their bio. it's not that hard but nope, you'll have them scrambling for excuses like "pinterest", "others also doing it" and soooooo many other excuses

seeing others speaking up about this matter where using fanarts in a reader insert fics as the banner or navigation delighted me because this is way TOO normalized not only here but to other communities as well. some people also have audacity to get mad when other people call them out like? why are you acting mad in the first place like the fanart is yours?

i'm not angry to the people who actually ask the artists permission first before reposting the fanarts. i don't respect others who blatantly steal fanarts, don't even bother to put credits or look for the source, and don't ask permission wwww

if you want something aesthetic in your banner, then better start doing graphics or learn to draw.

Y'all I'm gonna be totally honest. I'm not even excited that DR s2p2 got leaked early. I'm genuinely just irritated. On top of me having a general hatred for leaks already, it's just- ugh.

I was ready to be content with the trailer until October. I was so ready to have fun watching all the fan theories pop up and see all the speculation and the going crazy over the crumbs we got. And now that's all not going to happen, because its gotten out now and people will just go watch the season and have all their questions answered immediately. (and even if they take it down someone will have pirated it and uploaded it somewhere else by then.)

The time in-between releases for any show is fucking important for fandom and I'm pissed we didn't get that.
