The fading of daylight was a concern, for reasons few suspected; the room they currently occupied would be drenched in shadows soon, territory that had been claimed by the target they were currently in pursuit of -- a demon that hailed from the deepest pits of hell.

Fuelled by the gradual loss of natural light, John worked quickly to complete magic circle he was in the process of drawing on the floor. Every so often a colourful curse would slip from his mouth when the stick of chalk he was using broke in half, but he kept on working, etching out various sigils and arcane glyphs until the circle was complete.

“Finally!” Breathes the blond at last, his relief a palpable force, but his body remained tense. This was but the first in addressing the matter of their unwelcomed visitor. “Now do me a favour and arrange th’ candles like I showed ya, yeah?” As he spoke, John handed a bunch of thin candles to the other, as well as a box of matchsticks.

“I’d do it meself but... I mustn’t move from ‘ere, ‘specially when I start t’ cast th’ spell that’ll send this nasty bugger straight back to ‘ell.” With that, he assumed a meditative position, with legs crossed and hands clasping knees. Closing his eyes, he added a final instruction; “I want ya to set each candle down on each point of the large star. Once you’ve got ‘em all lit, remember to stay well clear, all right?”

From across the room Bobby glared straight into Doop’s soul. Bobby was recalling that the last time they encountered. Doop had  almost beat up Bobby for older Bobby dating Kitty.

🦋 -- Satana was used to find herself in many strange situations, and breaking into a mutant school to check a portal to one hellish dimension wasn’t the strangest thing she had done. Her visit to the school ground was long overdue, as the Camarilla of the N’Garai tried to kill her so many times and there was a portal to their world on the school ground. She tsk’d. How irresponsible of the people in charge to leave children so close to a portal to the Elder Gods. Were they aware that any of them could be a suitable sacrifice? 

Because that’s what the Camarilla thought of making of Satana. A sacrifice to bring forth their lost glory. She didn’t announce her presence to the mutants, but she wasn’t looking for trouble. She just wanted to reinforce the wards around the portal so that none of those creatures would come out. As often, she thought useless to explain her goals to the mortals. She also didn’t want the younglings gawking as she undressed to perform the complicated spell. She often liked to do complex magic naked as it made her feel freer. Nothing sexual, just the practicality of it.
