[PT: AACpunk. end PT]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AACPUNK
AACpunk is a movement that challenges ableism and promotes the acceptance and inclusion of all forms of communication. It stands for the inclusion of individuals who rely on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including nonverbal individuals, neurodivergent people, and those with various communication challenges, whether temporary or permanent. It works to break down barriers such as prohibitive costs, restrictive protocols, and social stigma, ensuring that all individuals have equal access to AAC tools.
Flag meaning
The top blue is representing communication in all its forms
The red is for breaking of barriers, stereotypes and ableism
The light tan-brown for neurodivergence
The gray for self-determination
And the cobalt for free access
Flags by @kpopwerewolf
Person with AAC symbol by @blackholemojis
Core Beliefs of AACpunk:
• Communication is a right, not a privilege. No one should be denied access to AAC tools of any kind.
• All communication is valid. Whether someone uses text-to-speech devices, symbol boards, writing, gestures, or any other form of AAC, their voice matters.
• Rejecting ableism in communication. Society often devalues nonverbal and AAC users, treating them as lesser. AACpunk stands against this by demanding equal treatment and respect.
• Breaking barriers to AAC access. Many AAC users struggle to get the tools they need due to cost, medical gatekeeping, or stigma. AACpunk fights for free and open access to communication tools.
• Neurodivergent and disability pride. AACpunk is inherently tied to neurodivergent and disabled liberation, embracing identity without the need for “fixing” or forced conformity to verbal speech norms.
AACpunk is inherently supportive of:
• All individuals with verbal communication challenges, no matter how they express themselves.
• No-tech, low-tech, and high-tech AAC users.
• Individuals who are neurodivergent, disabled, and who choose AAC as their primary means of communication.
• Self-determination in communication choices, without societal pressure to conform to verbal norms.
• Accessible education, workplaces, and social spaces for all individuals, regardless of communication style.
• The ability to communicate anything, even content deemed controversial or inappropriate, including through symbol-based AAC.
• Free access to AAC tools, ensuring that economic barriers do not prevent communication.
AACpunk is inherently against:
• Speech supremacy and verbalism, the belief that spoken language is superior.
• Medical and educational systems that gatekeep access to AAC, preventing people from receiving the tools they need.
• Forced speech therapies and practices that demand conformity to verbal communication norms.
• The infantilization of AAC users, treating them as less than or incapable of making their own choices.
• The exclusion of AAC users from conversations about accessibility, rights, and inclusion.
• Dehumanizing attitudes toward nonverbal individuals and those who use AAC.

Aventurine with a fem reader who has a strong sense of justice and short temper? Which gets her into fights often (both verbal and physical). I can imagine her fuming at seeing how Aventurine is talked down to sometimes and talking constant smack about the IPC. Oh and what if she had Boothill's accent—
Reckless, but Right
Summary: Aventurine dazzles the casino crowd with his skillful gameplay and effortless charm. When an opponent lashes out after losing, you, Aventurine's fiery and fiercely protective partner, step in, shutting down the tension with your no-nonsense attitude and southern sass. Despite Aventurine’s insistence that he can handle himself, your unwavering defense and genuine belief in his worth leave him momentarily disarmed. As you walk out together, Aventurine reflects on how your love and support anchor him in a cutthroat world, making him feel like the true winner in life.
Tags: Aventurine x Female!Reader, Romance, Fluff, Southern Accent, Protective Reader, Verbal Sparring, IPC Criticism, Gambling Themes, Banter.
Warnings: Mild profanity, References to gambling and manipulation, Mentions of corporate corruption and disrespect.
A/N: this reminded me of my Madea fic 🫣
Tumblr media
The dimly lit casino hall hummed with the murmur of voices and the soft chime of slot machines. At the center of the floor, Aventurine stood at a card table, the faint smirk on his lips betraying his confidence as he laid his cards down. His signature hat rested jauntily on his hair, and his eyes gleamed behind rose-tinted glasses. Every move he made seemed effortless, calculated—a dance of precision and charm.
Across the table, his opponent scowled, their loss evident by the pile of chips Aventurine had neatly collected.
“Better luck next time.” he said, his voice smooth, laced with just enough sarcasm to make his opponent flush with anger.
But before the tension could escalate, your voice cut through the air like a whip.
“That’s what ya get for underestimatin’ him, ya overgrown buffoon!” you said, stepping up behind Aventurine with all the fire of a Southern storm.
Heads turned at your arrival. Dressed simply but with an undeniable presence, you didn’t care much for the glitz and glamor of the casino. Your fiery personality was your true calling card.
Aventurine turned, his smirk widening at the sight of you. “Darlin’, I thought I told you to behave while I worked.”
You crossed your arms, your piercing gaze flickering to the man at the table. “I was behavin’, sugar. Until I saw this here jackass actin’ like you weren’t worth his time. Now, I don’t take kindly to folks disrespectin’ my man.”
The man bristled, but one look at your steely glare—and your clenched fists—made him think twice about opening his mouth. He muttered something under his breath before stalking off, and the crowd that had gathered quickly dissipated.
Aventurine chuckled, gathering his winnings. “You know, my dear, there’s something terribly poetic about you charging into my defense, especially when I hardly need it.”
You huffed, poking a finger into his chest. “I don’t care if ya need it or not. Ain’t nobody gonna talk down to ya while I’m around. IPC or not.”
His eyes softened, the playful mask slipping for a brief moment. “You truly are one of a kind.”
“Damn straight,” you said with a wink, though your tone quickly turned serious. “But let’s talk ‘bout the IPC. You’re too good for them vultures, sugar. All they care about is profits. They don’t see the man behind the mask.”
Aventurine tilted his head, intrigued. “And what do you see?”
You leaned closer, your accent thick as molasses. “I see a man who’s brilliant, who’s got more guts and brains than those pencil-pushers could ever dream of. I see someone who don’t need to play by their rules to win.”
For once, Aventurine was rendered speechless, his normally quick wit failing him. Your unshakable belief in him had a way of disarming him like nothing else.
He reached for your hand, his fingers brushing yours in a gesture both intimate and grounding. “And here I thought I was the gambler in this relationship. But it seems you’ve already gone all in on me.”
You grinned, the fiery spark in your eyes never dimming. “Damn right I have. And don’t you forget it.”
As you both left the casino, Aventurine couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest man alive. In a world where high stakes ruled and facades were currency, you were the rare, unyielding force that reminded him of who he truly was—and who he wanted to be.

[PT: Nonlexic & Semilexic
Nonlexic - The total loss of ability to comprehend, process, and produce language.
Semilexic - The partial loss of ability to comprehend, process, and produce language. End PT]
Nonlexic & Semilexic
It recently came to my attention that there was a gap in the language we had to talk about our experiences in the autistic community. We have nonverbal and semiverbal to discuss our ability to speak with our mouth parts, but not our use of language itself.
So I created a few possible options, and sent out a poll, so that we could coin a new pair of terms to allow us to discuss our experiences. An overwhelming majority (73.3%) of responses liked nonlexic and semilexic. So, to help us discuss our experiences, I give to you:
Lexic: Root Origin - Greek; Definition- of or related to words, speech, and language.
Nonlexic - The total loss of ability to comprehend, process, and produce language.
Semilexic - The partial loss of ability to comprehend, process, and produce language.

The idea that the DCA's would use cosmic related nicknames for children they know well. As in like, ones related to a close friend type a thing, not necessarily the usual children they look after. For example how children usually get assigned nicknames from their families (atleast the families I know irl)
IMO the dca is just not a nickname giving kind of person. the absolute most i can see for them is shit like "suck it up buttercup", "later alligator/in a while crocodile", "smarty pants/wise guy (sarcastic)" and other silly things like that that aren't actually specific to any one person
like i mainly don't think they care enough about other people to give them endearing nicknames like that? including the kids. they just tolerate everyone's existence because it's their job. if the dca is giving you a unique nickname it's because they don't like you enough to call you friend (and the nickname itself would also just be an insult)

Someone probably already pointed this out but in mouthwashing, taking responsibility is the running motif but more commonly it’s said to men who impregnates women where they must “take responsibility” for the child. The fact that this whole mess started with Jimmy assaulted Anya and refuse to take any responsibility for his actions against her. He tried to take responsibility, in the wrong way where he was only appeasing his ego, but it was too late. He dug his own grave when he refused to acknowledge Anya as a human and I find that poetic. He could try all he wants, but he will never take responsibility.

i like to personally think that the Lone Wanderer, obviously raised religious (christian) to some degree, had their incredulity with religion for good after seeing James die.
or maybe even after James left, and they were forced to be the Wasteland's errand person using their morals and beliefs for the good of humanity, but ultimately just being used.
faith slowly fading, turning into hatred and resentment, or maybe just a lost soul wondering why God abandoned them just like everyone else did.

[PT: Mutism/Nonspeaking Awareness Flag. End PT]
Mutism/Nonspeaking Awareness Flag
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I, like many others, suffer from mutism due to a physical disability. Every flag I've seen for the nonspeaking and nonverbal community is based in autism and related issues, without representation for those of us who are nonspeaking for reasons such as being a cancer survivor, schizophrenia, muscle tension dysphonia, spasmodic dysphonia, aphrasia, brain damage, etc. and related conditions. There are a large variety of conditions that I rarely see representation for, and this flag is for us.
The white stripes represents hope for a more accepting future for nonspeaking and mute people.
The purple stripes represents entirely nonspeaking people.
The blue stripes represents AAC and sign language users.
The green stripes represents people with fluctuating levels of verbality.
The yellow stripe represents community and the way we have each other's backs in this struggle.
The symbol is a vague representation of the lack of a voice. I couldn't decide which one looked better so feel free to use either.

Conversation overheard in the WCKD dorm: Schrödinger's Skeleton
Thomas: I kind of agree with Minho, I think there comes a point where it's just a skeleton and not actually a dead person. I mean, I know it was a person, but—
Aris: I don't think that's correct, I think it's both things at the same time.
Thomas: I think it's like a piece of fruit but it's been left out for so long that even conceiving of it as a piece of fruit is just no longer helpful.
Minho: Yeah, like, would you call a cherry pit a dead cherry?
Thomas: The question is, can you still eat the body? If you can't eat the body anymore, then it's not a person.
Newt: You can eat anything if you're determined enough.
Aris, Thomas, Minho: .......
Minho: That is also a very fair point.
yeah, i’m with Thomas on this because once the body knows it’s dead, it just begins to rot and decay until only bones are left. by that point, the body is overripe, too, making it more of a risk of food poisoning to eat more than anything. but also i would still call it a person, personally. eating it doesn’t make a difference
beef is still meat from cows, and we’re cognizant of that while we eat it. same with chicken and pork. don’t see why a dead human body makes a difference in terms of needing to dehumanize it for food

hello everybody!!! my name is tessa/sheepie, im a pan 19 year old cis girl (she/her). i really enjoy your fav is ____ blogs, and i suddenly got the idea to make my own!!
my main goal is to bring awareness to selective mutism (sm), so while being a fun blog i also want to educate people on the disorder since its rarely ever talked about! so firstly, i made a little flag to represent sm :3 my wonderful bf (@rvby1) gave me the idea to use the colors of a stop light because green = being able to talk freely without trouble, yellow = having trouble communicating but still being able to speak, and red = going completely nonverbal
id totally be down to tweak colors and stuff if anybody has any ideas!! its isnt the most aesthetic flag in the world, but i think the meaning is more important in this case! ill mess with the colors to better match a characters aesthetic though
lastly, sm is an anxiety disorder that manifests in childhood. it causes the sufferer to go mute in certain social situations! sm and social anxiety often go hand in hand, however one can exist without the other (sometimes my sm acts up when im not anxious!). selective mutism is not caused by or a result of trauma, autism, speech disorders, or other mental illnesess! while they can all cause mutism, they are not the same!! sm is a predisposed condition that will affect the person with it very early on in their life (usually when they first start school).
if you have any questions or concerns or want to request a character feel free to send in an ask!! :3

The spot of endless night-time in the sky mocks you. It chases it's way to the House through the sky like a snake approaching its prey. Because that's what the King is; a predator coming to feast on the weak. It's the sign of the end. The end you can't seem to stop. A big old "crab you" for even thinking of trying.
You try anyway. Try to climb the mountain with your bare hands. Push the boulder up the hill. You tackle the situation from all angles, but nothing works. You've worn yourself thin throwing yourself at the equation, and it's killing you. Literally.
It's stopped being as painful, which sends alarms ringing through your brain. Your nerves are frying. Dying. Being frozen in time has thawed to the sensation of pins and needles instead of being bone-chilling. Caustic liquids don't hurt to chug down as much. You can phase out of thinking when the King attacks you. You can simply turn your thoughts off and move through the day like a phantom. It concerns you and you just don't care at the same time.
Your blood sings and your voice rots and you go and go and go, pushing yourself thin until you are a walking corpse.
It's just you, though. One for many. You have you have you have you have to remember that. Remember that. Just you just one, saving everyone else. Just you. No one else will remember this.
No one else will remember this.
You sit in the big room with the big window and all the dot charts. You don't remember what it's called-- did you ever know? Who cares? It's not important right now. Sit on the floor and look out the window like a child looking over the ocean.
The King, you can see him now. His tall, dark shadow appearing over the horizon, lit by the moon. His armor shimmers like the stars he seems to love so much. [Because that's what they are, right? Is that the correct term? Stars? You're not sure. There's a torn page in your mind where it should be.]
Just seeing him drives you up a wall. Echoes of pain from how he's killed you run through your body, even though you know its imagined. Mashed to gore painted on the walls screaming howling make it stop make it stop. You don't care anymore. He can come, and he'll kill you. Or you'll kill him! Eventually! It has to happen!
Maybe he can feel your stare. It looks, to you, like he looks up just a little bit, to look in your direction. You, alone, sitting behind a giant window under a shaded masterpiece, clashing sky of sun and moon and all his stupid stars. [Stars feels like the right term, it feels nice in your mouth, but you're not sure. You don't know, if it's right or wrong or if you've just crabbing made something up to describe simple spots in the sky.]
You want to kill him. You want to make sure no one ever has to hear his stupid wails again, or fight his monsters, or be frozen in time or look at his stupid crabbing sky ever again. Make that armor of his a cradle, a grave, a casket or a cage, it doesn't matter, you're going to bury him in it. Trap him six feet under like time has trapped you, a squirming angry animal of a thing behind bars of a birdcage.
No one will find you here. That's fine. The other housemaidens have started to avoid you, because you've become an angry little thing overnight. You don’t bother Mirabelle and some loops you flat out avoid Euphrasie, because they shouldn't have to see you like this, clinging to what was you from over a hundred today's ago. You don't want to worry the two of them, overstep a boundary you can't remember or something, because you've done this all for them and the consequences of your capital-C Change can come later when the King is gone and you don't have to do today over.
For now, you will wait. This loop probably won't be the one because, realistically, when will it be? When will you win? Are you going to be trapped here forever, doomed to repeat the same day over and over in a cage made of craft and wishes and pure spite?
You just wanted to help. Look where that got you. Over and over, forever.
