Lucin Spiderstein, drow assassin.

I had a ton of fun drawing drowboy! He's my legally distinct AC character for my friend's homebrew campaign, Call of the Void, a body and existential horror campaign set in the modern day. We typically stream our sessions every Thursday on Twitch.

Shameless Twitch plug aside, this was also my first time in a while drawing a proper background and foreground and first time drawing a bunch of real spider species after conquering my arachnophobia! Some pics of the spiders used are underneath the cut 👇

These guys are the spiny backed orbweaver, the red widow, and the Australian golden orbweaver!

Spiny backs are TINY little guys irl, so no, Lucin isn't holding a tiny smudge. That's his favourite spider species :]

A Familiar Dance || Open

          Kasumi had been so excited at the idea of a ball in the human world that he immediately went to his room and got out the robes he’d kept in Kiki’s closet-- ones that he thought he’d need some day.  They were traditional robes, ones that every angel received on his, her, or their 100th birthday.  They were made with the finest blue and white silks, and feathers shed from the angel’s first 100 years of life. The colors and style had been made custom for him by the finest seamstress in the heavens, and they indeed suit the angel well. They even had an open back, perfect for winged beings-- though he dared not show his wings during a ball at which one was supposed to hide their identity.  He had ventured around the shops in town and found a mask that suited the robes he was wearing, and flew to the nearest alley to the Veil, landing there and putting his wings away. 

       He was quite surprised by the renovations the Veil had gone through to accommodate the ball-- the place looked very different from his last visit. It was much more welcoming, though still crowded as usual.  With his light blue and gold mask securely on his face, the angel entered the ball with caution. He hadn’t come with Kiki or Garridan, like he usually did, and the angel felt a small sense on loneliness at that fact. He hoped that his friends were there somewhere, but he also hoped he could meet someone new. 

      He was happy to see the familiar dancing. At least he could fit in this way-- he’d noticed that his clothes weren’t exactly what other men were wearing, but didn’t particularly mind. It wasn’t like strangers would recognize him anyways, though if any of his friends were here, they’d likely recognize him from the feathery outfit and white hair. 

       Summoning a fairly large amount of courage, the angel in disguise approached a person standing by themselves and bowed before extending a hand politely.  

        “Pardon me... may I have this dance?”

 The Alpha was one of the main event coordinators, given that it was most of the leading city and governing officials that had set up the event in order to help ease the rising tension due to the heavy curfews and restrictions set in place to keep those safe from whatever was taking people from within the woods. Taking into account of her ability to put together events at her own home so effortlessly the city knew that Tamryn had the means and the right kind of touch to put together such a specific event.

 As she was already dressed elegantly and wearing a mask. While others began to arrive she looked over the final touches of the ball room and checked to make sure everything met her level of standards. Considering that she practically grew up in this era of elegance the she wolf seemed to be transported back in time as she took over the project to ensure it was as authentic as most those around in the time period would have remembered it to be.

Welcome one and all to The Midnight Masquerade, an elegant Masquerade Ball set up to help ease the rising state of panic within the city. This is a neutral territory for all Humans and Supernaturals to come together and dance enjoy a vast assortment of foods and drinks as well as a wide range of live entertainment and performances of all kinds. All guest are required to wear some sort of face Mask covering the eyes mostly or in part. Dressing up elegantly is not mandatory however is strongly encouraged.

This Event will last from 8/7 through to Midnight PST on 8/17

This event is taking place within a renovated venue hall at The Veil.

This is the time for you all to post starters in the #TRRPGStarter tab.

Your starters can be them arriving to the event, already at the event, working the event, or preforming at the Event.

All characters must wear a face mask of some sort that is covering their eyes mostly. Dressing the part for a Masquerade Ball is not mandatory but you can. Feel free to post muse of your characters outfits as well.

All Characters should write into the event to start interactions.

Hiiiii!!! >.< Hello hello, I just wanted to talk more about TheMidnightMasqueraders, about Yakub and Lucin to be specific :3

Anyway I was thinking of maybe writing fanfic about them, maybe some omegaverse? Lucin would definitely be a beta and Yakub his omega, and for the plot it'd be Lucin fighting to keep his beloved Yakub from some meanie Alpha... But I'm not a good writer

Almost 7 hours later, I have another digital piece to share :]

The Monsters AU for the campaign I'm playing, Call of the Void, has been living rent-free in my head ever since I decided that Lucin would totally be a wendigo. So I drew him!

I'm not totally happy with how the blood turned out, but I still need to practise rendering. More rambles below the cut!

The benefit of Lucin being an assassin is that he has a steady supply of food. Insatiable hunger for human flesh needs to be met somehow!

Anyway, here's his reference doodle page, gacha, and the picrew that started it all :]

"But Ender, why aren't you saying something more vampiric or spider-like???"

Eh, he gives off more forest creature vibes and "doesn't belong in urban environments" vibes than he does vampire or spider monster vibes. It might just be that his design was initially based off of Connor Kenway and thus I was like "MMM WENDIGO" (even tho the legend isn't Iroquois iirc). I dunno. It just fits him.

ALSO (I'm sorry I really like wendigos), I tried keeping the monster design as close to original legends but also Lucin's normal design as possible (bc I have a weakness for monsters that don't look like monsters on the outside), so that’s why the antlers that are normally attributed to wendigos through a broken game of telephone and one guy's movie with practically no research on the legend are painted on the wall in blood instead of part of his actual design, to help communicate to the audience he's a wendigo. If you can't tell, I really like wendigos.
