Getting back into wax carving... this guy was a good start down the right path of getting my tools and talents honed again. He ended up twice the size I had intended, so I eased up some on getting him finished. Then his hoof broke off. Remembering the limits of wax after a full 10 months off is going to be a challenge... but I’m not so far gone off my path to make this dream into an artful profession that it can’t be salvaged. And it’s never too late. I can turn this around if I push to think small, put in the detail and the hours. I have to redouble my efforts. My mantra for years has been one my mum told me. “Every new day is a do over.” That’s some seriously wise shit there, huh? 😏 But so true. Every new day is one more chance to do what you didn’t, or try to do better. At anything!! I mean it - 12 steps, being a better person, being kinder to yourself, hitting the gym like you should, staying on diet, practicing guitar, or trying to watch my damn mouth - ALL of these reset when the sun rises for one more do over. One more “Again”. Another chance, another fresh start. Now it begins...
