usually the reason why side characters are “more interesting” than main characters is because there is less clear and laid out information about them so that draws people to speculate and fill in the blanks more with things they want/like in characters and you can constantly be learning about them, whereas it’s hard to have a main character that is any kind of mystery or blank slate when a lot of times you are viewing the story literally from inside their head so you know everything there is to know about them, y’all get that right?

I remember when there was a time not too long ago that the people of the Internet were realizing that we're not all that different.. 'Rage comics', or similar memes, made us realize that we're all fucking weird dweebs that so the same stupid shit no matter who we are. Now all the sudden everyone is stamping their feet going 'NO IM UNIQUE. IM DIFFERENT FROM URRBODY ELSE. I AM A SPECIAL LIL SNOWFLAKE'. This is true to an extent, but you are not a snowflake, you're a human; There's a reason why a few other people in the world look very similar to you. No matter what you identify yourself as, this fact can't be changed... You're human after all. (There's a lot more I could say on this topic, but I'm pretty tired. I wish it were a perfect enough world where everyone would be grown ups about most things, likes tying people do what they want with their lives. buuut some people never grow up 😜 More on that topic later. It ties together I swear)
