one thing about hs2's original run that is super noticeable to me is like. how do i put this. like it's not Bad Art (though there was one update where the art was. pretty bad). in fact there is a lot of FANTASTIC art in the original hs2 run, and a lot of chapters that don't fall into what i'm about to describe. but a not-small number of panels just... do not fit the text below somehow... idk how to describe this but it's the same thing i see in a lot of fan adventures where like, yeah, the image matches what the text below is describing/the conversation happening, but it just doesn't ADD anything. like it's just a still frame of x and y character with their mouths open and gesturing because they're talking. it's nothing! like it looks nice sure but it doesn't DO anything. needed a bit more workshopping or something i guess.
and this is something i have not noticed with hsbc (this era) yet and i'm quite glad about this. like very fucking happy. this is the number 1 thing that sets apart new and improved hsbc from hs2 as something that is, in fact, new and improved for me. old habits crushed
#mine#homestuck#homestuck: beyond canon#homestuck^2#ok one more thing i couldn't fit into the actual post. that one gif in The Davekat Chapter of hs2 where the washing machine finishes#like on its own? it's fine. in the context of a multi-page comic? it's just. it doesn't work.#there's no text below that image. you are just expected to Know that you're supposed to sit and wait for the thing to finish!#when the instinct is to just click to the next page as soon as you've processed the scene#and it's baffling to me cuz like. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN TWO PAGES?#in fact it SHOULD have been two pages#ok this is nitpicking but seriously. this kind of thing is one of my biggest issues with hs2#and let me reiterate: i am SO GLAD it's better now. we're back in it now folks#huge win

Noel interview in Time Out, July 2000
Below the cut is the Noel-half of an incredibly candid interview the brothers gave in July 2000, in the midst of their mid-tour split. This was originally transcribed by a fellow named Harry Hotspur, one of the hard-working denizens of the Oasis usenet forum (such were the lengths fans went to before they could screenshot and share images easily).
I am posting the text here, as I have not found the same article readily available elsewhere online, and it's an incredible read. The interviewer essentially acts as a therapist, gently countering the more immediate, caustic replies to get at the emotional heart of matters. Noel in particular is more raw than usual.
Liam's half here.

July 1
Oasis pull a show at Roskilde Festival in Denmark, hours after nine fans are killed. Oasis's manager, Marcus Russell, meets police who reveal that they don't yet know why people died and haven't made any subsequent security changes. The organisers claim Oasis and Pet Shop Boys (who also cancel) are disrespecting the dead. 'Basically, they were asking for the band to go onstage and have Oasis fans dancing on people's graves,' Noel tells me later.
July 2
The Irish Sunday Mirror carries a story quoting Noel saying of Cork band The Frank And Walters, 'Without them I'd be on a building site in Manchester today.' Two days on, Noel shakes his head. 'I couldn't name a song by them,' he says.
July 4
Noel Gallagher (33) has been a very lazy Manc lately. After walking out in May, he holidayed at his Ibiza getaway before returning to his Buckinghamshire pad to watch, and enjoy, Euro 2000. We meet in his farmhouse recording studio, surrounded by 37 guitars. Noel is relaxed, bright, friendly, slightly shy, and is pleased to learn from our photographer that Marylin Manson likes 'Be Here Now'. Then, for over an hour, he sits and chats about football, Inspiral Carpets and, of course, Liam.
NOEL
Have you spoken to the band?
[Brightly] I haven't, no. I spoke to Marcus [Oasis's manager]. Everybody's on good form, apparently.
Have you read the gig reviews?
[Laughs] I have, yeah. It's ironic. We never got a good review for the first six months of the tour, and as soon as I leave it's like the greatest rock 'n' roll band ever!
Why do you reckon that is?
I have to assume people just don't like me! I mean, the five guys in the group are all brilliant musicians and they're playing brilliant songs, so why wouldn't it be good?
When I was reviewing the new album I did feel the easiest way to write it would be to slag it off...
[Nods] Mmm.
These days if you say it's actually quite good, you're laying yourself open. But I reckon 'Gas Panic' is one of the best songs you've written.
Well, yeah. I think people expect a bit much. I don't think people think it's a bad album, it's just not this earth-shattering experience. But is any band that important after five albums? What I find... not upsetting, but annoying is, like, we've got a single out yesterday. Now, on Monday morning people'll start writing about how it failed to get to Number One, or the top five. But nobody writes how Travis have failed to get to Number One. ['Sunday Morning Call' enters the charts at number four.]
I suppose people expect Oasis to be a big-selling band.
I know, but there has to be a dramatic fucking 'Bumph! It's gonna change now!' There can't be just a gradual change over six months. Someone's gotta stand up and say 'Fuck, I'm not doin' it any more.'
But when Blur came out with the 'Blur' album after 'The Great Escape', there was a bit of 'Ooh, it's not doing well'. Then everyone was like 'Who cares?'
I fuckin' envy them in a way, because we couldn't go off and make a lo-fi, indie-jungle record. Blur can do that. And Primal Scream can constantly reinvent themselves and The Beta Band can, because they're not considered seminal fuckin' artists. Y'know, we've gotta be constantly in the top five and records have gotta sell millions and tours have gotta be bigger than the last... And I don't wanna make fuckin' avant-garde records. I like playing the guitar. I like being a rock 'n' roll band. But people accuse you of not progressing. Then if you did change they'd say 'What are you doing making Krautrock records?'
Does it freak you out reading these good gig reviews?
[Genuinely] No, fuck, no.
How are you in your head?
[Hesitant] I'm really... I'm never happy touring at the best of times. Y'know, with me being the spokesman, I get up at ten and before the soundcheck at 5pm I'll have done seven interviews, generally with an interpreter, answering the same questions. The hour and a half on stage is brilliant, but it's just all the bullshit that surrounds it.
Can't you tour on your own terms?
Yeah, but you've gotta have the other five people in the band on the same wavelength. I can't be bothered with the fuckin' rock 'n' rollness of it all. That's not me any more. Whereas everyone else is having the time of their lives.
Liam thinks you expected them to follow you home.
[Surprised] No, not at all. Did I fuck.
Because it was all right in Japan and America...
It was brilliant, but y'know, he's made a big deal about this hypothetical fuckin' solo career that I'm supposed to be starting. Which is all bollocks. [I only meant] one album of maybe like acousticy, folky stuff in between Oasis records, as a side-project. Now I'm not even sure I can be arsed. It's like, if it's gonna cause that much fuckin' trouble, then I can't be bothered.
If you were a punter, how would you feel seeing Oasis without you?
Well in my defence if anybody wanted their money back they could've seen the promoter. As far as I'm aware, everybody turned up. I mean, Oasis was always about Liam Gallagher singing my songs. I think everybody else is totally interchangeable, but out of respect for the British fans I've decided I'm gonna do these gigs and then I'm gonna very, very long holiday. And then I'm gonna decide what I wanna do.
Have you had it up to here with Liam?
Oh, I've been up to there with Liam since...
I met him for the first time last week. He was pretty much what I expected. Intense, well-meaning, but...
[Vehemently] The bottom line is, if Liam's fuckin' sober he's great. But once he's pissed he likes nothing better than to sit in a room and argue. Y'know: 'I can drink more than you can drink.', 'My Dad's bigger than your Dad.' I mean there's something about me that makes him unhappy, and if I make him that unhappy then I'll y'know...
But he looks up to you, he adores you.
[Passionate] Yeah, I adore him as well. But not to the point where I'll sit and be insulted all night, in front of a load of people. I'm not having that off anyone.
Leaving him to it could be the best thing for Oasis. Problem is, he needs to understand your reasons.
Well, I'm quite proud of the fact that he's carried on. Y'see, Liam desperately wants to be in charge, and as far as I'm concerned now he is in charge. He needs to prove summat to himself, that he can be the man. But I'm sick of being the endless guest on 'The Jerry Springer Show', y'know, 'And our next two guests are two brothers from Manchester...' It's like, 'Aww fuck off, man, I can't be arsed.' But you know, Liam's still in his twenties and he's still living the life of a rock star.
But you've got five years on him.
Yeah. But I still don't understand him or the reasons why he's always going off at me. Two or three years ago I'd sit down and try and get inside his head. Now I can't be fuckin' bothered. Until I can see a change in him, what's the fuckin' point? Because ultimately the music suffers. You wanna try being in a recording studio with him...
He doesn't really understand where you're coming from. He said he tried to apologise.
Yeah, but he's been apologising for six years. And it's not just things about me, he's said some things that are out of order. Things that you shouldn't even think, let alone say in front of people who are basically total strangers. It's easy to say you're sorry and it's a different thing meaning it. So he's apologised, big fuckin' deal. Until the next time. But this time there isn't gonna be a next time, because I've just about had enough of him. And y'know, you're in a hotel room in Paris and you think: Well, I've got six weeks left in Europe with this twat, or I've got a house in Ibiza with its own beach. Hmm. This is not a difficult decision to make.
Is there a chance there might not be a next album?
Well, I've written two songs - that doesn't even constitute a single. And they were songs I'd written maybe 18 months ago. So I've gone 18 months without writing anything. And every time I pick up me guitar or try and write some words, it's just not doing it for me. As I get older I feel like I need a lot more time. Now you try and speak to Liam, it's always, 'Right, when are we going in the studio?' And I'm like, 'Well, I haven't written any songs.' 'Well, when are you gonna write some songs? I'm not fuckin' having another year off.' And I'm like, 'You can't force these things. If it takes me five years to write an album, then you're gonna have to sit on your arse for five years. Unless *you* go and write a bunch of fuckin' songs.'
I reckon he feels awkward around you.
Yeah, well, we'd be sat on a tour bus and we'd put on a tape and summat'll come on and he'll go 'Who's this?' and you go 'Oh, it's Superstar'. And he'll go [aggressively] 'Fuck, it's shit'. [Calmly] 'Fair enough.' [Aggressively] 'Who the fuck are they? So you're into these, are ya?' It's like 'Well, hang on a minute, it's only a fuckin' song. I *like* the song. Leave it, man.' Before you know it there's a full-scale argument...
But he values your opinion.
Yeah, but why does he have to do that? I don't know. [Sighs] I was speaking to me Mam about it... It's like he can't accept the fact that maybe the band is not the most important thing in my life any more. When I had two years off, I came back and it was like, 'I'm married, I've got a kid now.' And watching my little girl grow up and go to school is more important than watching the band develop. He's gotta get his head round that before we can go any further.
Plus it sounds like he's got shit going on with Patsy.
Well that again, y'know. Everybody in the band has personal problems, but you should never bring them into the studio or on tour.
C'mon, though: if your marriage was breaking up, it'd be hard for it not to affect you.
I'm sure. [Pauses] I'm sure. But it's nobody else's fault. I mean, I haven't got the answers to his problems. Not at all. But Liam seems to think that because we're not as big as we were five or six years ago, somebody has to have the answers. Y'know: 'What are the reasons we don't sell ten million albums any more?' I really don't know. If I knew I'd put it right.
Liam thinks you carry the burden of the band and he's saying he could take more off you.
[Deep breath] Er, it's not that it's a burden, it's just that it's always been like this for me. Liam started doing 50 per cent more interviews on this tour, but it still hasn't taken any workload off me. When we started this tour it was like, we haven't put a record out or played for three years, half the band had gone, there was new members, we were fuckin' on the way to Japan and someone's decided C4 are gonna do an on-the-road documentary, we've got all the journalists in the same hotel. And this is the first *day*. You couldn't go to the bar without [mimes putting a dictaphone out] 'Can I have a word about this?' And then of course bright spark has to go and say he's gonna break Robbie Williams's nose before we even get on the plane.
That Robbie - Liam thing was a bit silly.
It was just pathetic. I was sat watching CNN in a hotel in Japan and they had a report from the BRITS and none of it was about who'd won. And then you see fucking Robbie Williams challenging Liam to a fight. And I'm sat there eating my breakfast going 'This is not real, this is not happening'. But then you pass Liam in the foyer and he's going 'Yeah, I'm gonna break his fuckin' legs when I see him'. It's like 'Will you shut the fuck up, man?'
Beckham and Posh have kind of taken over from you and Liam as the tabloids' most wanted. Do you have any sympathy for them?
Er, I've got sympathy for him, 'cause he just seems to be going along with it. I mean, if she wasn't married to him, who's she? Just one of the Spice Girls who can't sing. Whereas he's the best fucking footballer we've got in the country. I mean, you know that documentary they did and she was interviewing him? How can you interview you husband on TV? It's sick. I feel sorry for him, but... [laughs] Fuck him, he's a dirty red anyway!
How do you think things will be with Liam in Dublin?
The manager phoned me last week and said him and Alan [White, drummer] was saying 'Look, we want a meeting before you do these gigs' and I was going 'Well fine, all right'. And of course, who didn't turn up? So that shows how much it means to him. They think it's gonna be weird, but it's not gonna be weird for me, I don't hate anyone, I haven't fallen out with anyone. It's just I didn't wanna be on the fucking road with him.
Why don't you just play big gigs in capitals where you don't necessarily have to stay in the same hotel, don't have to do any press... ? It's almost like you take on too much.
Well, that's what I'm saying. We have to sit down at the end of this tour and I've gotta have a big fuckin' think about where we're going and how we're gonna get there. I couldn't just sit down now and go 'If we do this, if we do that'. But I know what I'm not gonna do is just fuckin' give up making music, just fuckin' sit at home and become a dad. I want my kids to grow up and see me in action, not watch me on some archive footage from fuckin' Knebworth.
Do you think there's a possibility that you're just not gonna bother with Oasis?
Of course, yeah. But we'll see what happens.
You're more pissed off with it than I thought.
I'm not thinking too much about anything at the moment, just about getting these gigs done and hopefully them being received really well. Then after that... See, I've always felt your management or your label never give you enough time. When I was younger I could sit in a room and knock off three songs a day, like 'Some Might Say' and 'Whatever' and a bunch of B-sides. But y'know, I'm not 26 any more. People think: Aw, give him two weeks and he'll write another album. It's not like that.
Is it pressure?
No, it's just that when I was 26 the most important thing in my entire life was the group and writing songs. But now it's not. I've devoted enough of my time to Oasis. I've given enough, so now I wanna take a bit back. But I never said I was gonna do a solo album and leave the fuckin' band. I just wanna do little things that make it interesting for me. But I've no intention of leaving the band.
Is Liam's drinking the big...
[Quickly] For me it is, yeah.
He said: 'I just drink till I fall asleep.'
Well that's fine, but it's the bit before he falls asleep which is a fuckin'... Everybody else finds it really funny, but when you're sat on the end of it. He gets *that far away* from your face, y'know, just going like [incoherently] 'Well fuckin', where the fuckin' cunt this'. It makes me tired. It gets me down, But he knows that, and the more it gets me down, the more he does it.
It'd be good if you two could sort it out.
Listen. Every time we fall out it's always this big fuckin' dramatic thing. To me it's just another argument, man. It'll sort itself out. It's not as if we're never gonna see each other again. Let's put it this way: if I wasn't related to him, I'd have sacked him fuckin' four years ago. But it's not.. [Quietly] It's deeper than all that.
Perhaps Wembley will be the turning point. That little bit of friction could be the thing that makes it...
Y'know, the last gig I did with the band was in Madrid and it was one of the best gigs I've done for years. What I'm really looking forward to is getting onstage at Reading. Because we've gotta follow Primal Scream. And if you can't summon up enough enthusiasm to say, 'Right, well, we've gotta be better than them.' Y'know, I'm looking forward to going on after them. Then we'll see how good we are.
July 5
Despite Noel's revelation otherwise, NME claim they've heard three new tracks.
July 6
Liam insists a new Oasis album is written, to be released in January.
July 7
With Liam in Dublin, Patsy Kensit leaves her and Liam's Primrose Hill house. In broad daylight. In front of reporters. Wearing a lovely dress. 'I'm actually quite relieved,' she tells 'London Tonight'.
July 8
'Patsy Legsit' screams the Daily Star, with the Mirror's cover carrying news of Patsy's new fella. Meanwhile, I'm off to Dublin to see Noel and Liam's reunion gig. The route to the 40,000 sell-out Lansdowne Road show is littered with leery, beery men singing and pissing. Naturally, when Liam, the Patron Saint of Laddism, skulks onstage, the crowd go barmy. And although, annoyingly, most of the sound blows into the gusty Dublin night, it's clear Oasis still rock - even if the old stuff does rock most. Liam's voice is as snarlingly majestic as ever, his swagger as cocky. And Noel seems genuinely touched by the spine-tingling crowd reaction to 'Don't Look Back In Anger'. 'We ain't splitting up,' growls Liam before the brotherly 'Aquiesce', with its chorus of 'Because we need each other', after which the brothers shake hands. Later, as they say goodnight to the Dublin masses, Noel tells them, 'We'll see you next time.' A truce, it seems, has been called.
July 9
The Irish Sunday People's front page reveals 'Liam's Dublin booze binge'. Apparently, he knocked back 15 pints of Guinness in his hotel. Meanwhile, Noel, we're told, arrived on a different flight and stayed in a different hotel. A truce then, but not a full-on peace accord.
July 10
'Rock chick to wreck chick' says the Sun, splashing pictures of Pasty and her new man over two pages. Thankfully, Liam is keeping 'a dignified silence'.
And there you have it. Twelve days in the weird, wonderful, ever-changing, tabloid scrutinised lives of Noel and Liam Gallagher. If Liam can keep his gob shut, they're well poised to reclaim some of their former glories. And if he doesn't, Noel seems likely to walk away. But whatever happens, you can be sure the world will be watching. No wonder they called their label Big Brother.
[Note by us: the infamous Wembley gig was less than two weeks later.]
#there are some truly devastating lines in this:#there's something about me that makes him unhappy...#i adore him as well#it's deeper than that.#print archive stuff#noel#2000

About Mai, Devil Survivor's cut character
So, imagine one day you're looking for official images of your favs and you find some scans from the artbook. Cool. But then you also find something you didn't expect:
This character is on page 175 of the Devil Survivor: Official Material Collection. If you've played the game, you'll know she doesn't appear anywhere. Her name is Mai.
She is still in the game, in a sense. There's leftover data of her at least in the vanilla version. You can see her battle menu image here at the Spriters Resource between Izuna's and Honda's. Meaning that she was supposed to fight.
And indeed, The Cutting Room Floor has something more to say about it:
She was a magic tank.
But the most important source of information I could find about Mai was the same artbook where I first found her, Devil Survivor: Official Material Collection. There is a translated version of this book, sadly I couldn't find it on the vast Internet, so instead I asked @nenilein to translate a relevant fragment from page 174. The people talking on this fragment are Suzuhito Yasuda (character designer) and Akiko Kotoh (chief designer).
Q: "Are there any characters you ended up cutting? Yasuda: "There was a character who was supposed to contrast Shoji, the journalist. We had already decided her name would be "Mai" and she was going to be a girl who appears at the TV station. Since the her purpose was supposed to be working for you from the side of mass media during an arc concerning intel gathering about the government, we at first had planned to have her debute alongside Shoji, but the more we thought about it the less likely it looked like we could find a good way for the protagonist to get into the TV station, and it became less and less practical to have her in the game at all. In the end we ended up just cutting her." Kotoh: "She was supposed to be a playable character, I remember, at least at the very start." Yasuda: "Yeah, and also, while we didn't end up cutting them, a JSDF soldier and commander duo were also initially planned as playable. At the time we received mixed opinions about the fact that there was a bear stuck to the JSDF soldier's chest, but even even so I never expected that would lead to the character being retooled into an NPC. Kotoh: "And here's another character who wasn't cut, but changed rather suddely, it's the police officer. Originally they were going to be wearing long sleeves, but then I realized the game was set in summer and it would look ridiculous, so we quickly changed it to short sleeves."
There you have it, along with some some other info about no-so-cut characters. By the way, that long-sleeved policeman is in the artbook too, just below Mai. He smol:
So, to recap, Mai was supposed to be a playable character, at least at first, who worked on TV (I forgot to mention it until now, but there's also some text next to her image that directly identifies her as an entertainer 芸能人), knew Shoji and helped you gathering information about the government. That's interesting, but I can see how she was cut.
There's still an arc about uncovering the government's plot in the game, even if doesn't seem as important as it might have originally been. There are plenty of characters who help you gather intel on it: Shoji, Atsuro, 10BIT, Izuna and Fushimi. Media as a form of mass control is an interesting bit to explore that she could've been involved with, but it would have been difficult to do so in a context with no electricity nor signal, and therefore, no radio, TV or Internet. The lines we got from Shoji about the government announcements was the most we could've got.
Lastly, I want to mention another thing I found on TCRF:
I'm hesitant to post this unused e-mail, since it could very well belong to Loki. Despite that, the handle T-STAR... Mai is most likely a TV star. Loki has somewhat of a connection to stars (the star Sirius has been called Lokabrenna, or Loki's torch, in Scandinavia), but I'm not sure if it's enough to justify that handle.
If Mai was the sender of this e-mail, however, that would mean that she knew not only about the government conspiracy (the cover-up of the demons, the UEM field, maybe about the angels...), but also about THE WAR OF BEL?? That's far from the role that was described by the staff, and that's why I'm more inclined to think that Loki, and not Mai, is the one who was supposed to send it. Anyway, I hope you found all of this interesting. Mai may not have been in the game, but I think she's fun to think about and can easily become inspiration for roleplaying or fanfiction. That's why I wanted to compile all the info I could find about her on one post. Have fun with it.

MAIN MASTERLIST • SERIES MASTERLIST
The next few days that passed after your encounter seemed to fly by. You were busy working on your dissertation while Chris was attending ASP interviews. The two of you would text from time to time, just keeping the other updated about your life.
Chris had planned the evening out. Before considering what meal he wanted to make you, he made sure to ask you about any dietary concerns or allergies that you might have, and he was thankful that he did. You informed him that the only food allergy you had was apples. Part of him thought you were joking because he never heard of that being a restriction one could face, but after sending him a photo of one of your allergic reactions, he trashed every single apple he had stored in his fridge. A dramatic reaction, yes, but he wanted to make sure you were both completely safe and comfortable.
He decided on making a simple pasta dinner, something easy that he believed he couldn’t possibly mess up. It wasn’t until he was googling wine pairings when he remembered the woman he was supposed to have this same evening with just a few days ago; Lindsey.
Chris had been so preoccupied with you that he completely forgot about the woman. Looking at his phone and opening their messages, he saw that he had been accidentally ghosting her for the past three days. Not knowing how to deliver the news, he decided it would be best to break things off over the phone than through a text.
Clicking on her contact, he dialed her number and listened to the dial tone ring in his ear. He was pondering on what to say when he heard her voice through the phone. “Hey stranger, I was wondering when you were gonna call me back.”
“Hey Lindsey, sorry I got a little busy with life. Can we talk?”
For about the next five minutes, Chris tried his best to not give the cliche ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ excuse, but in the end he had to explain to the woman how he met somebody else, you, and that he didn’t want to string her along any longer. The call ended with some harsh words from her which he expected. Even though he hated that he hurt her feelings, in the end all he kept thinking about was you.
A couple miles away from his home, you were at your house going through your entire wardrobe trying to find the perfect outfit to wear. Did you want to go the fancy route and wear a nice dress or something casual like jeans and a blouse? Even though Chris told you the plans he had scheduled for your rendezvous, you were still feeling nervous about the whole affair.
Thankfully with the help of your friends, they were able to ease your worries and help you out with your ensemble.
The night before the planned evening, the two of you lay awake, plagued with nerves. Worried about messing up and ruining the chance to be with the other.
With how his morning started the day of his previously planned affair, Chris made sure that nothing could stand in the way of tonight. He had his suit pressed, the ingredients needed for the meal prepped, and a bouquet of red roses bought fresh from the florist resting in a vase of water. Scott went with Dodger over to his sister Shanna’a house, leaving the home to himself.
The day proceeded quickly and soon enough it was time for the date. You agreed to drive over and meet him at his home, arriving there around eight in the evening.
Walking up to the home and knocking on the door, you kept cracking your knuckles, a nervous tick of yours whenever you got anxious. Once the entryway was opened and Chris stepped into your sight, all of those pesky jitters suddenly left your body.
Chris was clad in a tailored black suit that clung to his frame. The white button up he donned was crisp and clean, you could make out a few of his tattoos peeking through the material. Accessorizing his attire, he wore a black and silver watch, the silver in the band matching the Saint Christopher medallion clasped around his neck showing through the opening of his top. His hair was perfectly gelled, making him look fresh out of a photo shoot.
He looked absolutely delectable and part of you didn’t even care about the meal, you just wanted to know how the material of his clothes felt against your skin.
When Chris opened up his door he knew you’d be there, beautiful as ever but he didn’t expect the sight that he was met with.
Your regularly curly hair was straightened, cascading off your shoulders and perfectly framing your face. The makeup you applied made your features light up. He took notice of the lipgloss you put on and all he wanted to do was grab you and taste the substance that was lucky enough to touch your lips.
Looking your body up and down, he noticed your black silk dress, a tie in the middle cinching the material together. The material stopped at your mid thighs revealing your velvety smooth legs and high heeled shoes. Thoughts of him trailing his hands up the sides of your calves while he pinned you below him flashed in his mind. Quickly he shook the image out of his mind to put back all of his attention on you.
“You look absolutely breathtaking,” he whispered in awe.
“You’re not looking too bad yourself.”
As you entered his home, he placed a hand on the small of your back tugging your frame into him so he could place a kiss on your cheek. The same butterflies you experienced when he pecked you that night in the parking lot reappeared by the dozens.
The smell of sautéing onions and garlic filled your senses, instantly making your stomach lurch around. “Whatever it is you're making smells amazing,” you commented to the brunette.
He bashfully smiled, “Thank you, I’m almost finished, though I should let you know I’m not the greatest cook.”
You laughed at his comment, unconsciously placing your palm against his upper arm. “It’s alright Chris, at least you have your looks right?”
It was his turn to laugh, your playful matter had him buzzing.
The two of you made your way through the kitchen, him to the front of the stove while you sat in the high chair behind the counter top. Before he returned to cooking the vegetables, he grabbed the bouquet of red roses he had ordered and handed them to you, a smile instantly appearing on your face.
You thanked him for his generosity and the two of you continued on in lively conversation while he focused back on finishing dinner.
Laughter filled the room while you two chatted in his living room. You two had finished dinner, Chris making a wonderful shrimp scampi that even he was surprised tasted good.
Even though you spent three hours talking that evening in your office, you two didn’t have any difficulty finding new topics to explore.
You spoke about your family and how life was growing up without siblings. How it felt being at an advanced academic level at such a young age, which allowed you the opportunity of being employed at the university at 21. Surprisingly, you allowed yourself to be vulnerable around the man, something that you had never done before. It was something about his demeanor. His presence was inviting and captivating, and all you wanted to do was continue to be around the actor.
Chris was at a loss of words with how to describe how you made him feel. You had such a hypnotizing way to yourself. He would listen to your laugh and drink it in as if it were the last time his ears would be blessed with the sound. Your smile was so genuine, stretching from ear to ear and all he wanted to do was keep that look on your face till the end of his days. He didn’t know he was staring at you until you waved in front of his face, regaining his attention.
“Earth to Evans. Are you okay there?” Your eyebrows were slightly furrowed while you stared intently into his eyes, waiting for his response. He didn’t even think about the next words that came out of his mouth when he spoke.
“I know that we just met last week, and this is only our first date, but would you do me the honor of being able to call you my girlfriend?”
The statement that was rushed out of his mouth had you choke on your glass of wine. Regaining your composure, you set the drink down and looked up at Chris.
There wasn’t any humor in his eyes, just determination as well as a bit of trepidation.
You were about to speak when he started up again. “Usually when meeting someone, I go on about two to three dates with them. Get to know them and go through the ‘what if’s’ possibilities. But with you I realized I can’t wait that long. The only thing I care about is being able to see that smile on your face, and have the melodic sound of your laugh ingrained in my life. And I don’t want to waste another second trying to determine ‘what if’ we’re not a match when I already know that you’re the one for me.”
This time you were the one at a loss of words. Emotions wrangle throughout your body. You were nervous, but the nerves that stood on end were due to the fact of being scared of how quickly you were falling for him.
Without saying anything but donning a beaming grin, you nodded.
Chris immediately leant forward and molded his lips with yours. The kiss was soft and delicate. His right hand slightly cupped your cheek, and in that moment you felt safe, you felt at ease. There was no other place the two of you wanted to be than right there in each other’s embrace.
When you pulled away it felt like time was at a standstill, nothing else mattered but the two of you being together. Even though he wasn’t a photographic person, Chris felt this overwhelming need to document this moment.
He quickly pulled out his phone and asked you if it were okay to take a photo of the two of you, a personal keepsake so to speak. You nuzzled into his side, shoulders touching, breaths fanning across each other’s face. Chris extended his hand with the camera app open and aimed towards the two of you. Though you were looking at the screen, a beaming grin stretched across your features, he was only looking at you. Admiring you as if you were his entire world, which you were slowly but surely becoming. Snapping the photo, he locked his phone and tucked it away back into his slacks.
With the close proximity you two shared, he took advantage of the opportunity to kiss you again. He was desperate to feel you, touch you, taste you. The flavor of your strawberry lip gloss inviting him in.
You melted into him, hands gripping the lapels of his jacket pulling him closer into you. He leaned into your touch, causing the two of you to lay back against his couch.
His hips were slotted in between your legs, crotch rubbing against your warm core. The friction drawing out a low moan from your chest.
He continued to feverishly attack your mouth. This kiss was different from the first. This was pure hunger. You two were desperate to feel the other. His tongue slotted into your mouth, tasting the leftover remnants of the Pinot Grigio you consumed. Notes of grapes and honeysuckles on your tongue made him push deeper. The intoxicating taste and the effects of the alcohol had him unconsciously grinding into you, rubbing his cock against your covered mound.
You ran your hands across the expanse of his body. Rubbing his arms, slightly gripping his ass, tangling your hands into the brown tuffs of his hair, you couldn’t get enough. He felt amazing against you. The rubbing of his hips were drawing out moans that you didn’t even try to suppress due to the unwavering desire you felt towards him. You felt him lift your leg up, giving himself more room to rut against you. The movement caused your dress to hike up, showing the lace of your black thong to your now boyfriend.
The two of you continued with your actions. Tongue slapping against each other as you sloppily tasted the other. The movements of his hips against your cunt accelerated to a rigorous pace when he felt a wet patch growing on your panties.
You felt like honey teenagers, dry humping each other like a pair of desperate virgins, but in that moment it was perfect.
Drawing away from each other, Chris nestled his face in the crook of your neck, his warm breath sending shockwaves of arousal straight to your core.
You were both close to reaching your respective peak, your moans were getting wilder and his hips were becoming unruly.
It only took a few more bumps of his crotch against your covered clit for you to gush in your panties. An erotic moan left your lips and filled the room while your back arched, pushing your breasts against his chest.
Hearing the near pornographic sound that left your body, while feeling your peer nipples press against his front allowed him to reach his release as well. Biting down against the column of your neck, he came in his pants, filling his boxer briefs with his seed.
Chris collapsed on top of your panting body, the two of you trying to regain a steady breath. He lay there in your arms, your nails dragging along the nape of his neck.
When he finally regained composure, Chris raised up on his palms and looked down at you. And as if your minds were synced up, you both erupted in a fit of giggles.
After coming down for your laugh attacks, you excused yourself to the bathroom to freshen up.
You stood in front of the mirror, examining your reflection. There was still some adrenaline flowing through your bloodstream causing your hands to slightly shake. Your lips were red and swollen due to the attack on them moments prior. But what you couldn’t ignore was the dopey smile that seemed to take permanent residence on your face. You felt like a giddy schoolgirl, though you weren’t complaining.
Your recently ended relationship with your ex Justin was not great. The reason for the break up was due to the fact that he didn’t make you feel special. Looking back at it now you don’t even know why you agreed to start dating him in the first place. But you were thankful it concluded, otherwise you wouldn’t be here, with a man who looked at you like you hung the moon and placed every star in the sky yourself.
Back in the living room, Chris paced around the living room for your return. Happiness surged through him, making him pump his fist in the air like he was John Bender in The Breakfast Club.
He's been with plenty of women throughout his life, even getting engaged to one, but it was in this moment he realized he had never been so infatuated with someone until you entered his life. You made all of the hairs on his body stand up just by looking at him. It elated him but also scared him. It scared him due to how fast he was falling for you. But he didn’t care. Though this feeling was foreign, he had no problem welcoming it with open arms.
After a few moments consisting of composing yourself, you made your way out of the bathroom and back to Chris. You two stood there, just smiling at each other like idiots. It was him who finally piped up.
“So that was some first date.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at his comment.
“Tell me about it,” you replied.
The two of you conversed some more before it got late and you decided to call it a night. Making sure you had all of your belongings, including your roses, he escorted you to your car.
Resting against the door, you couldn’t resist temptation so you pulled him into you, attaching your lips to his once more. This kiss wasn’t the apprehensive one you first shared, or the hungry and desperate one that came after. This kiss was full of passion. It was the type that made you breathe out a sigh of relief into the other's mouth, glad that your bodies were in union in such an intimate manner. Neither of you wanting it to end.
When you finally pulled apart, Chris rested his forehead against your own, trying to savor the moment a while longer.
“I’ll call you when I get home, alright?”
Repeating the actions yet again of your first meeting, he went to open your door, waiting for you to slide in before shutting in. After turning on the engine, you rolled the window down allowing Chris to rest against the frame on his forearms.
“See you later, girlfriend.”
“Right back at you, boyfriend.”
Giving you a fleeting kiss goodbye, he stood up and watched as you pulled out of his driveway and back to your home.
Chris stood there in his driveway for a while. He thought about how the date went twenty times better than any other one he’d ever been on. How you made him feel like the greatest man in the world. The way your lips met his and how it was like they were made to be caressed by his. The smile that crept on your face when he called you his girlfriend. And he thought about how now nothing else in this world mattered except for keeping you in his life and making sure that wonderful smile never left your features.
A/N: so the song True by Spandau Ballet is the song i envisioned when Chris opened the door. it’s that one slow 80s song they play in movies where it’s goes like ‘ah ah ah ahhh ahh’ it's all romantic and what not, y’all know the song i’m talking about, that one. cheesy i know, but i works.
anyway baby, i know there’s not a lot of dialogue, i’ve come to the realization that it’s one of my weakness but i’ll be working on it.

Take a Taste with: Mini Stop Chicken Fillet XL Sandwich (w/ my Paper dolls) [Feb 7, 2022]
Hello! It’s time for another “Take a Taste”! Yes, I’ve made a series about delicious food with my two paper dolls. And in this episode, I wanna try another chicken sandwich from another brand, this time is from the "Mini Stop" (Philippines 🇵🇭) convenient store & their chicken sandwich called the "Chicken Fillet XL".🍗🍔 So, let's get through it.
1st & 2nd Image(s) ↑:
• Okay first off, my apologize for the look. I put my order food inside my mini bag, and it doesn't look appetizing. Plus, their fried chicken patty is hot while I was walking, so now I'm back home from exercise walking, and the hot chicken patty went off (sort of). My paper dolls saying that it looks fine. Heheh, you think so? 😅
3rd & 4th Image(s) ↓:

• One downside I've found is their cheese are not as great as other restaurants that offers burgers & chicken sandwiches. My paper dolls response: Sad.😟 Yeah, I've expect more than that, you know. But, their chicken patty looks promising to me. Well, time for the taste test! 😋
5th & 6th Image(s) ↓:

• Here's my 1st bite of Mini Stop's Chicken Fillet XL Sandwich. And uhh... I would say decent, yet not great as other chicken sandwiches (from fast food restaurants) that I've tasted before (Popeyes' U.S. Spicy Chicken Sandwich & Jollibee's Chick'nwich). Also, their buns are supposed to be big to fit the chicken patty. Another fail. 👎😕 My paper dolls totally agree my words, they should eat chicken sandwich elsewhere than this.
7th & 8th Image(s) ↓:

• I'm not done yet, I have to try their condiment packets to redeem this Mini Stop's Chicken Sandwich. Let's try out!
9th & 10th Image(s) ↓:

• Here's my 2nd bite. And nope, it's still decent taste as before. What do you think, you two? My paper dolls say they don't like it. Mmmm, you're right. Thumbs down for me. 😕👎
• Overall, for my Chicken Fillet XL Sandwich from Mini Stop (Philippines)... I mean, for only ₱49 ($0.95) it's an underwhelming chicken sandwich. But, it's totally cheap, so beggars can't be choosers. I don't appreciate their sliced cheese, it should be like from restaurants which are perfectly look. And their "large" ✌️ chicken patty is decent, yet not great taste in my opinion. So, should I buy another one? I'd say no.😒 Plus, their limited time through Feb 28th, so I won't get another one. They're tons of restaurants & other food establishments that offers great chicken sandwiches than from Mini Stop. Well, I better get back to my walking exercise to burn my fat.🚶📏
Well, that’s all for now. If you haven't seen my previous episodes, then I'll provide some links down below.↓😉

• Jollibee Chick'nwich & Crisscut Fries [Dec 21, 2021]: Part 1 [CLICK ME! #1], Part 2 [CLICK ME! #2]

The Kiss Thief - Park Seonghwa Social Media AU
13. Chapter Nine: Mega big brain boy ✨
Previous Part✨ Next Part✨
Masterlist of the AU✨

🌸
Yesterday was wild. It was truly wild personified. Your friends and Seonghwa's friends mingled together to create, as Yeosang kept mentioning, chaos multiplied.
Despite the loud talking, heavy eating, after-dinner meeting and dramatic goodbyes under the influence of alcohol, (No one has yet confessed who switched Cola with Alcohol. Hence, the appearance of bold Jongho) the time spent was the most fun you've had since college life began.
It was fun but it was tiring staying up late.
The only thing that occupied your mind today was the thought of comfortable sheets putting you to sleep in your bed.
Currently, you're thinking about the same but with different emotions, specifically regret.
"Why are you making a face like that? This is the fourth time you've zoned out today." Seonghwa's question pulls you out of your trance.
You two wrapped the daily studio teaching a few minutes ago and the next occupants of the recording studio showed up when you were leaving. As Seonghwa conversed with them, you decided to text Yeri, who delivered you the news, shattering your napping plans.
Why today, of all days, today I forgot my key?
You rub your eyes and place the phone in your pocket. "You've been counting?"
"Well, you're the only person here I am supposed to pay attention to. So yes, I've been counting. What's up?" He asks as you two begin walking down the stairs.
Groaning, you push your hair back into an aggressively tight ponytail. "I forgot my dorm keys, I wanted to nap but now I need to pretend to study in the library while I complain loudly in my mind."
He raises a brow, hands fishing out car keys from his pocket. "Why don't you just drink your deathly beverage? Doesn't it keep you all buzzed and active?"
You stop in front of the building entrance with a smug expression. "Oh, my deathly beverage for which I attended the beverage addiction convention?"
Looking down, he shakes his head. "Do you want to grab something to eat?" You expected a snarky or teasing remark but what is delivered surprises you for a moment.
"Together?" The thought of just the two of you sharing a meal is enough for your heart to beat a little faster than usual.
The time spent in the studio mostly consists of him correcting mistakes and answering your confused questions.
The initial embarassment is only subtly present. His playful comment are mostly absent when he's explaining what Hongjoong has already well explained to you. His presence is comfortable.
When among your friends there's always someone (mostly Mingi) chiming in now and then but this is the first time since you've met that you'll be spending time with each other.
Frankly, you also don't know how to act around everyone with him when even sneezing is considered giggling. You two haven't exactly acknowledged openly about your high school crush on him other than easy, playful conversation you two engage in quite a lot, whether texting or talking.
"No, we'll be sitting on seperate tables." He begins walking towards his car. You had half-expected an answer like that.
"Really? That sounds great, at least I don't have to put up with your nagging." Arriving by his side, you comment with a side eye.
He offers you a deadpan expression. "Didn't you listen to what Yeosang said? I'm actually that clueless. That open discussion about me, remember."
"Are you really? I have receipts of your messages admitting how you find my reactions 'cute'." You tap your pocket, contaning the source of evidence, your phone.
The confidence comes when with him without you having to muster up any.
Seonghwa unlocks his car, a small hint of smile on his lips. "Okay, let's continue this conversation while eating."
This boy.
"Are you really that unphased? Are you really that clueless? Teach me your ways."
He opens the door to the passenger's seat. "I'll feed you instead."
You place your hands on your chest, followed by a dramatic expression. "Wow, you're amazing at deflecting."
Seonghwa places a hand on his hip and that's your cue to get inside before losing your free meal ticket.
You'd rather eat with Seonghwa any day instead of pretending to study at the library with droopy eyes.
🌸
After a ten minutes ride to a small and cozy restaurant, you two are seated in the chatter filled environment with two servings of soup in front of you loaded with vegetables, meat and noodles.
He arranges the spoons for both of you.
"Better than greasy food that will make you more sleepy." He sips a spoonful and an instant satisfaction takes over his features.
You chuckle. "Oh my god, you're really a mom material---" The comment is instantly regretted as you taste the refreshing soup, enough to widen your eyes.
He slurps the noodles and then turns to you with a victorious smile. "You develop motherly instincts when you hang out with children."
"Children?" You're listening to him but the soup definitely has a majority of your attention. "Oh, you mean the guys?"
"All the seven of us are uniquely handful," The smile is still ever present on his lips.
Even though you haven't spent much alone time with him, you can still detect the warmth filled, selfless nature he had back then and still has it within him now.
That was one of the main reasons you were attracted to him.
Okay, not now (Y/N), let's not make it awkward.
You take a big bite of the juicy, broth soaked meat. "You're still as initiative and kind as I remember." Speaking with much difficulty, you hold up your hand in front of your lips, "But I think something went wrong somewhere and you developed the quality of enjoying making fun of innocent girls like me."
He offers you a tissue with his trademark, unphased expression. "I am actually that clueless." He shrugs.
You snatch the tissue and wipe the corner of your lips. "Yeah, sure."
He laughs at the look on your face. "What? You can't take a little teasing from your senior?"
You throw up your hands in false frustration. "Oh my god, stop asserting your age kink!"
"It's not a kink!" He says defensively.
"Yes, sure. Mingi is Mingi but you, you are something else!" You say the statement, knowing that he understands the meaning behind it and begin sipping the remaining broth.
He too, downs the broth in one shot. "What am I?"
There it is, that amused and knowing glint in his eyes and the smirk he's attempting to hide.
"You're..I don't know, whatever. Seventeen year old Seonghwa would never do this to me" You bite your tongue after delivering the statement.
He crosses his arms below his chest. "Seventeen year old Seonghwa was actually clueless."
You point a finger at him with an exaggerated smirk. "Ha! You are basically saying that twenty-one year old Seonghwa isn't!"
He places his head on his hands, shoulders shaking with gentle laughter. "(Y/N) if you keep reacting like that, do you really think I can stop?"
Your expressive gesture shrinks. "You know what, I understand now." You hold up your hands in defeat.
"No, don't stop now. We are finally opening up and talking." He gives you an encouraging nod.
"Oh, don't trick me now. My eyes are about to roll back into my head." Your fingers undo the ponytail to let your hair breath.
Sleep has abandoned your senses long ago but only now you realise how energized you're feeling.
"Fifteen year old (Y/N) would never." The innocent face of his doesn't do justice to the way he is speaking.
"Hey!" You protest.
Wow, I sure react to everything he says.
"Fine, fine. I'll stop now but If it ever gets beyond the limit, tell me." He assures with an honest expression.
God, you cannot be teasing one minute and be kind the other, no, don't do this Park Seonghwa.
You huff out a sigh and lean into your palms. "It is harmless anyway but you're too good at it and sometimes you are something else."
He mirrors your posture. "Yes, (Y/N), so tell, What am I? What is something else?"
Your face falls into your palm and you hear his soft chuckles.
Not again, Park Seonghwa, not again.

Pairing: College Student! Seonghwa x College Student! Female Reader
Genre: Fluff, A teeny tiny bit of smut with a pinch of angst
Synopsis: High school crushes are often silly and forgotten. However, you cannot forget the one senior, you "borrowed" once a kiss from. Years have passed and it's a memory you laugh at but what will happen if you're to encounter the same senior in a much different setting and situation? Especially during your first year of college.
A/N: He make fun of you, he tease you but mostly importantly, he feed you 🙏🏻

Hyper Light Drifter - Research
Hyper Light Drifter is a 2D action-RPG developed on GameMaker by Heart Machine - an independent studio founded by Alx Preston. The game pays homage to 8 and 16 bit games and is considered by the developer to be a combination of Zelda: A link to the past and Diablo.
The game was inspired by a life threatening illness - Preston was born with a heart condition which he decided would play a role in the character, the character has this horrible illness in which he wants to find a cure for. Preston also believes bringing aspects of his own life into his game is the best form of art.
Gameplay
The game is explained quite differently to what you would expect. There is no spoken dialogue, placing more emphasis on explaining the storyline through music and illustrations. In a way, this also makes the game more difficult because at times you don't really know what you're supposed to be doing. In my own game I wouldn't use this approach to explain things. I find actual text more informative and images can sometimes be misleading.
The Drifter has plenty of combat abilities. He is equipped with an energy sword but can gain access to other items to enhance his combat arsenal. A small drone is another item that the character possesses which is used to interact with the technology scattered around the world.
One of my favourite features that I've seen in this game is that the player has the ability to drift. This is a dash-like burst which makes the Drifter invincible for a brief period and has multiple purposes - it can be used to position around enemies, or to move to a certain area.
I feel that this is something I could take inspiration from for my own game, a multi purpose ability/power-up would open up more strategies within a level.
Style
The game has a sci-fi theme with things such as drones and other electronics, and is made of isometric pixel art. It's got very rich colours that blend nicely together and I love the look of them, the colour choices of the levels go very well with the design of the character. The cyberpunk/sci-fi theme is very clearly portrayed throughout the whole game - lots of things look mechanical or futuristic, even the platforms.
Even the HUDs have a very technological look to them. Below in the second screenshot, in this shop the player is able to expand on upgrades for their pistol weapon. Despite the UI consisting of purely images, you are still able to understand what things do because a preview is shown.
The thing I like most about the art of this game though are the Drifter's attacks and abilities. All of his attacks, whether that be an energy sword or a gun, are full of these bright solid colours and shapes which look perfect in this pixel art style. In addition to the weapons themselves, there are also effects which appear when you kill an enemy. The effect is kind of like a blood explosion but it consists of the same flashy colours as the weapons. I think effects like these are always a great addition to action games - they make the combat feel less mundane.
Hyper Light Drifter vs Castle Crashers
Hyper Light Drifter and Castle Crashers are both action-packed 2D games, and they're both full of enemies for the player to fight. Things like Castle Crashers' comic-style text and fast animations really add to all of the action that's going on which, for me, makes the combat much more interesting and fun. Both games produce some very satisfying aesthetics - HLD also has its own take on animations with all of the bright colourful flares which appear when you attack.
Then you have all of the different attack styles in both games. In both games you'll be able to unlock and purchase different weapons/abilities as the game progresses. For me, HLD's drift ability stands out as something more unique - it's one of the fundamentals of the game and is consistently used throughout the whole storyline. Castle Crasher's doesn't really have anything that stands out like this, you just have some classic weapons. And tons of different enemies to smash up and kill.
However, one way in which these games differ drastically is their way of telling a story/dialogue. In HLD you have lots of these pixel art illustrations to tell a story, whereas in Castle Crashers the story is displayed more via text. While it could be considered more boring, I'd say text is the best way to explain your game because pictures can be hard to follow, especially when they have no context behind them.
To conclude, I think Castle Crashers' ways of showing their combat system outshine Hyper Light Drifter's purely because it's more action packed - which is what both games are meant to be hence their genre. I also believe that it's harder to present this sort of action and fighting in a pixel art style, the levels in each game are laid out very differently but HDL's style doesn't produce the same satisfying feelings that CC does.

The Kiss Thief - Park Seonghwa Social Media AU
7. Chapter Three: Dark History Reunion✨ (Text below images)
Previous Part✨ Next Part✨
Masterlist of the AU✨

The Next Day (05.09.19)✨
The moment Jongho entered Cafe Utopia, he could feel the intimidating energy coming from the table where the much praised music technology senior, Kim Hongjoong and his friend are seated. The person who he texted yesterday, Seonghwa, is missing.
Thanks to San and Wooyoung, he now has an opportunity to befriend them.
He approaches them with heavy steps without realising how aggressive-nervous he's appearing on the outside, the expression that Yeri always mimics to mock him.
They greet him with inviting smiles. The other guy, in burgundy red sweater and black beanie, Yeosang, scriptwriter, offers him the script to read. However, the only thing he can focus on is Kim Hongjoong's mullet.
How can he even pull off a mullet like that? Is it real?
"Your voice sounds bold and clean." Hongjoong leans towards his clasped fingers, a gentle smile on his lips, "You seem a little nervous at the moment but we have enough time to practice."
Yeosang nods, "He has a great control over his voice. I feel like we've finally found someone who'll do my script justice."
Jongho's shoulders rise up with confidence.
"Wait, thank you but does it mean I get to be the announcer?" He looks expectantly at the duo.
Hongjoong settles back, adjusting his glasses. "Of course! I'm honestly surprised at how quickly I could decide."
Yeosang pushes the script further towards Jongho. "Take it with you and practice as much as you can, we'll have discussions and rehearsals before our first show."
"Thank you so much for this opportunity!" He bows gratefully, eyes glinting with happiness.
Hongjoong and Yeosang exchange glances and giggle making Jongho squeeze his brows in confusion.
"You look adorable for someone so well built but you're so tense, relax." Hongjoong winks.
"He IS cute." Yeosang adds.
Jongho is taken aback by their sudden compliments. "I just feel excited to work with you all, I've heard so many good things about you." He confesses.
Hongjoong waves his hand in the air. "The professor only tells you the good things, he doesn't reveal that I don't get enough sleep, it's a trap." He points at his now visible eyebags.
"Don't scare him away before Seonghwa comes." Yeosang says with a side eye directed at his mullet friend.
Jongho is reminded of the missing person, Seonghwa, who he messaged yesterday.
"You were going to bring along someone who's interested in audio engineering? Did they decide otherwise last minute?" Hongjoong asks with a subtly evident worry.
"Oh! Yes, (Y/N) had a class till 5 pm, she'll be here anytime now." As Jongho finishes, the cafe door opens, the bell chiming and indicating your arrival.
The class ended a little later than expected and like a mess, you had collected your things and rushed towards the cafe.
After hitting it off with San and Wooyoung so quickly you feel like you can seize anything at this point except the will to attend classes after only two weeks of college.
Dazzling Night appears like a safe getaway from the continuous routine of being stuck with studies.
"Jongho!" You call out rather loudly, grabbing everyone's attention including the two boys sitting with Jongho, wait does that guy have a mullet?
Your friend gestures you to come, you smile sheepishly. "I'm sorry, I had a class." A little panting can be heard as you speak.
"It's alright, Jongho informed us. I'm Kim Hongjoong, music technology, final year." He offers you his hand and you stare at it for a minute before realising what you're supposed to do.
"Oh right!" You shake his hand. "I am (Y/N), I'm studying law."
The other boy offers you a small smile. "I'm Yeosang, English major, second year."
You return him the same expression as his. "Nice to meet you."
Wow, this is awkward.
"You're interested in assisting our audio engineer, are you aware of any basics?" Hongjoong crosses his arms and you can detect the anime gleam on his glasses while he looks at you, awaiting an answer.
You glance at Jongho then at the two boys. Their gaze is fixated on you intently, emitting strong energy.
You gulp.
Okay, they're strangers anyway (Y/N), keep calm.
"No, I don't know much but I'm interested in learning." You answer honestly, fingers fideling on your lap.
"Can you manage your studies and radio commitments? We don't want anyone leaving halfway through." Yeosang continues his friend's query and suspicions.
Ha-ha, perhaps this was a bad decision.
Jongho squeezes your hand beneath the table.
"Yes, I think I can manage well once I begin, you don't need to worry about me dropping out halfway through." No matter how certain you wish to sound, the way they have their eyes fixed on you causes you to speak in an uncertain tone.
"Okay Hongjoong, we can tone it down now, she looks like she's gonna run away." Yeosang states before sipping his drink. "We just want fixed commitment, Hongjoong is critical when it comes to decisions regarding the show, so is Seonghwa."
Seonghwa? That's a name you know.
Hongjoong clears his throat. "Wait, I haven't used my intimidating voice for a while now, I am sorry if I sound like I'll kill you but I'm just sleep deprived." He vigorously rubs his eyes.
"They called me adorable after intimidating me." Jongho rolls his eyes.
"Now now, young man, watch your attitude." Yeosang comments playfully.
"Could've told me sooner!" You gently shove Jongho, "Also, yes, please tone it down, my left leg is ready to sprint out any moment now." You eye the door and then the mullet guy.
All the boys laugh at your remark.
"Don't worry, if something important comes up, you can leave, studies shouldn't be compromised with but otherwise we want your full attention when working with us." Yeosang smiles warmly at you.
You return to a comfortable state before studying their now relaxed postures. "So? Can I join?"
Hongjoong pushes back his hair. "Of course, if you're up for it but you need to meet the rest of the team. I'm the composer, Yeosang is the scriptwriter. Our team leader and audio engineer are still missing." He checks his ridiculously beautiful vintage watch.
"Okay" You breath out with a chuckle, eyes trailing back to his mullet. Unable to hold back your curiousity about the unusual hairstyle, you ask. "Are you wearing clip ons or is that really a naturally grown mullet?"
The owner of the mullet is taken aback by your question for a moment before breaking into laughter.
"God! I've been dying to ask that." Jongho mutters beside you, doubling Hongjoong's laughter.
You and Jongho blink expectantly.
Yeosang shakes his head, "These kids."
Hongjoong tugs his hair at the nape of his neck, huffing a sigh. "It's a real mullet. You two have been eyeing my hair since ever you came here, I was just waiting for you to ask."
Jongho scratches the back of his neck. "To be fair no one has a mullet these days but you pull it off well."
You nod at your friend's statement.
"What are we laughing about?" A heavy voice grabs the table's attention and you turn around along with Jongho.
An extremely familiar tall boy appears in your vision with another one following behind and your eyes go wide.
No way, no way, no way!
"Hey! You made it! Meet Jongho and (Y/N), our newest members that is, of course if Seonghwa approves." Hongjoong greets them both and the moment he says the name, it clicks in your head.
Park Seonghwa, Horizon High School.
"Hey, we were-" Seonghwa abruptly halts in his tracks.
(Your Full Name), Horizon High School.
You unknowingly shoot up from your seat.
"Um, (Y/N) is everything okay?" Jongho glaces from behind at the newest arrivals.
"Wait!" Mingi takes a good look at you and turns to Seonghwa before he starts giggling to himself, confusing the other three boys seated at the table.
Song Mingi, Horizon High School.
Warmth is taking over your face like a pressure cooker ready to burst merely at the sight of the boy standing in front of you, he too blinks at you as if confirming that you're actually standing in front of him.
"What's the matter? Why do you two look like you've seen ghosts." Yeosang asks whilst Mingi continues his snickering.
The giggling boy takes a seat between his friends, looking at your frozen figures amusingly.
"This is a dark history reunion." He nudges Hongjoong and Yeosang.
"Mingi!" Seonghwa glares and steals another glance at you before taking the remaining seat, the one beside you.
Jongho looks around, lost. "Dark history reunion?"
You turn around and almost slam yourself down on the seat.
Hongjoong and Yeosang are wearing mirrored puzzled expressions.
You clap your hands with over enthusiasm, "I just remembered that I have a meeting with a project partner at the library, I gotta go."
No, you don't.
"No wait, What's going on here?" Hongjoong's gaze continues shifting between you and Seonghwa while you two are busy avoiding eye contact with each other.
"Dark history reunion." The amusement still hasn't faded off Mingi's face and now he earns a death glare from you.
Seonghwa taps the table, grabbing attention. "It's nothing, she's free to leave if she's done."
You get up the moment he speaks.
Oh, this has just become way worse, way worse.
Mingi raises his brow, "What if she's here for the announcer's position?"
"No, Jongho's here for that, Hongjoong already talked with (Y/N), she's free to leave." Yeosang intervenes noticing your sudden urgent movements.
You internally thank him for that.
"I uh, well I think, I think I'll talk to you guys later." You grab your belongings in a big swoop.
"Aw no, you're leaving so soon? We just came here!" Mingi wears a wicked wide smile as he speaks.
"We can talk later, Mingi. It's not like I'm dropping out of college tomorrow! (I just might!)" You answer with a loud, fake laugh, trying hard not to grit your teeth.
Mingi hasn't changed at all. He is as you remember.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Jongho looks at you, his expression demanding an explanation.
"She knows Seonghwa too, very well!" The mischievous one strikes again.
"Oh, Seonghwa and (Y/N) are acquainted?" Hongjoong chimes in.
"Yes we are, we went to the same school." Seonghwa leaves his seat to give you way. "See you later (Y/N)."
You feel strangely assured looking at his stark red ears.
"Oh yes, yes, Seonghwa--" You take him in briefly before looking at the rest, "--and others I'll see you guys later, gotta run!"
Keeping your eyes straight ahead, you walk out of the cafe like you never even went there, half walking and half running towards your dorm room.
Song Mingi, I'm going to get you.
