MC 🤝 Vil
Sabotaged by platonic yans
At least they'll have something to relate about in quiet moments during the VDC breaks; "you get type cast a lot? But it's always with this one other person? Nah. In this world? No such coincidences, he wants you so bad." ~ MC after being hardened by being in yanverse for too long.
Being a celebrity IS hard. In our world, you already have to deal with so much.. but in a world where obsession is normal? How crazy does it get? Vil would have so many platonic yanderes and even delusional yanderes that believes him to be their soulmate even if he's not a darling. (Same as Neige) So how would he (Vil )or you (author) go about this in the story? (ㆁωㆁ)
Fame comes with a heavy price. All the prestige and wealth comes with terrible prices to pay. If you think darlings have it bad, they have it so much worse. They never, ever have privacy, there’s always someone watching even if you’re at the edge of the earth.
Fans are deluded, either you’re the perfect angel that should never be hurt or you’re their one true love.
The parasocial relationships are ramped up by a thousand. Every one screen “I love you” is printed out and placed in a shrine, recorded into asmr for them to fall asleep to and hear over and over till they meet face to face.
Instead of seeking riches, paparazzi seek pictures for their shrines. To capture the famous in their cameras lenses, and then kiss, love and adore the photographs. They also steal what little they can take, strands of hair, anything their lips or fingers touch.
Going in public without bodyguards or something to protect yourself is a terrible risk. So many celebrities are nearly kidnapped, some actually kidnapped, so the deluded can live out their fantasies. Of wedding arches, of families being born and made….
Word to the wise, never read or open your fan mail. Sometimes it’s something sweet like letters or poetry. But there’s also hearts carved from flesh, sometimes animals, sometimes human. Explosives, meant to kill the people whoever tries to steal the eye of their favored one.
Celebrity feuds usually shed blood. If they were bad in our world, smear campaigns and cancellation attempts grow to near murders and torture in the yandereverse. All news is good news doesn’t apply here. All bad news could lead to the most devoted and obsessed killing the celeb in their sadism and delusion.
Every mildly invasive thing turns into something so much worse.
If you’re a darling celebrity….then you’re loved all the more. Such innocence, such fragility. Meant to be loved and protected. And stolen away to be set on a pedestal. Their fans are extremely protective, willing to attack and kill whoever their romantic partner is, yandere or not, to protect that sweet innocence.
Yandere celebrities have the luxury of more freedom. Their fans want to be snatched up, to be tormented and degraded, willing to do anything if it means they're with them. They’re completely obsessive, worshiping the ground the yanderes walk on. They stuck on the attachment, believing the yandere has an equal obsession for them, platonically or romantically.
(Vil has an entourage of incredibly obsessive followers. Rook is a primary example. They would gut themselves for the chance to meet eyes with him. Vil doesn't respond to anyone of his fanbase but Rook, mostly because he enjoys their friendship.)
And if they were a yandere once considered to be a darling, well that innocence is maintained and protective and obsessive mixes together. They’re protective over their innocence, and obsessed with their existence. What makes the good bad? What makes the fairy tale a real life fantasy? That’s the thought process that goes through the fans’ minds. It’s what enraptures them.
(Neige’s fans adore his innocence and are obsessed with his life. And, his fans would die for him. His interaction with them purposely stokes the fire. Only a fool would ever do that, but Neige isn’t a fool. It benefits him after all.)
Vil is used to his fan base. His father’s a famous actor, he’s seen the people in wedding dresses outside his house trying to marry his father. Then the frankly, unsettling gifts his security team went through when he was starting out. He avoids them almost at all cost, never goes out in public alone and if he does it’s disguised.
Neige. in the opposite end of the spectrum, doesn’t do what Vil does. With the exception of the disguises, because sometimes he wants some privacy. He answers every letter, hugs every fan. He doesn’t need to go out in public with protection because his fans practically kill anyone who touches him.
Either way, both don't have the luxury of privacy. It's just their school's protections that let them live in relative peace for a while.
What a world celebrities live in…

«Situation?»
«Targets on the move. Heading for the south entrance.» Multiple additional contacts, each tagged with α, bloomed on the CRT. They spread out in a well-rehearsed pattern, ready to ambush the unsuspecting intruders.
«Acknowledged. Patrol is in position on the upper floor.»
«Confirmed. Estimate contact in sixty seconds.»
«Acknowledged. Patrol out.»

Adam couldn’t suppress the shiver rolling down his spine. The cracked and battered ceiling, trash-covered floors, fallen cabinets and shelves, debris-clogged doorways—even the damp chill of the air—reminded him uncomfortably of Panchaea. Panic shivered at the edge of his thoughts—a tidal wave poised to crash down on him, to drown him in its anti-light. He forced himself to match each deliberate step with an equally deliberate breath. As long as he was moving, he was breathing and not drowning, and that meant that he was alive and not being crushed beneath concrete and sea-water. Step. The NVGs displayed his surroundings in pale blue monochrome. Step. The dust mask blocked some scent, but what got through was heavy with rot and rust without a trace of salt. Step. Something crumpled beneath his boot with a faint, glassy pop. Step. Across the room, slow, deliberate footfalls echoed his. He was not alone here; for a moment, his misgivings were entirely forgotten in simple gratitude for her presence anchoring him to the here and now. Step. With each step, each controlled breath, the fear receded. Now get your goddamn head in the game. He took a deep breath, shoving the last of his disquiet where it wouldn’t interfere. He gave his companion a quick glance, but she was focused on her own progress and gave no sign of having noticed his… moment. Lucky for him.
They made their way deeper into the building, picking their way through the broken scattered equipment. Peeling paint draped over a half-torn, yet disturbingly cheerful poster of a man on a forklift backing into another man. It surprised him that something as fragile as paper had survived at all, and yet there it was. The inner rooms still had some protection from the elements, and the ambient light grew steadily dimmer as they ventured deeper. By the time they reached one of the inner factory floors, the light intensification could no longer keep up. “Switching to thermals,” he subvocalized.
“Copy.” Her footsteps fell silent.
The touch of his finger shifted the display from pale blue to grayscale, and his surroundings took on a new clarity. A quick sweep showed nothing out of the ordinary—for an abandoned, decaying electronics factory. He glanced up at the ceiling; cracks zigzagged darkly in jagged patterns. Adam frowned. Were the faint traceries of heat that crawled along some of those cracks anomalies? His instincts said ‘no’; the faint scrape of metal against metal, as loud as a shout to his enhanced hearing, confirmed it. “Ambush!” he shouted, throwing himself behind a rusted-out desk a split-second before gunfire shattered the quiet and stitched through the air where he’d just been. Sloane dove beneath a half-fallen shelf; it was scant cover, and she let out a pained grunt as a bullet found a gap.
Sloane swore. “They’re shooting through the ceiling,” she said tightly, as another hail of fire spanged off their hasty protection.
Fresh bullet holes studded the ceiling like bright stars, and the cracks were growing before Adam’s eyes. “How much more you think that ceiling can take?” It was a crazy idea, but they were low on options.
“Bring the fucker down,” she snarled. Metal creaked as she shifted, unslinging her assault rifle.
He used his HUD to paint a rough oval on the ceiling, then threw it over to hers. “On three…”

i’m not 100% sure your requests are open or if you’ve done this before but i’ve read some of your leonora lesso fics and i’m in love
i’m was wondering whether you could maybe right a little!lesso x caregiver!reader. they’re both teachers, maybe r is an ever
but tbh maybe just some hurt comfort <3
The Little Lion
*Authors note~ ahh little Leo and Agere is my life, may be horrid I am currently in a lecture for behaviour with a massive headache but I’m determined to catch up on writing fics*
Trigger warnings~ Agere little Leonora, cg y/n first time regression star struck Leonora
Prompt~see ask^^^
Being the Dean Of Evil wasn’t ever Leonora’s plans but it’s where she ended up and appeared to be amazing at her job. But was she evil? Or maybe just hurt deep down? The world would never know the pain she’d been through and just how she dealt with her pain. While she held her scary exterior inside lay a soft gooey core that is ever so fragile and to be protected at all costs.
Being evil for so long tends to drain the red head, and with her Never students acting up more, it was worse than ever before. No one knew of the tentative relationship you and Lesso had began, but the tension between you both was simply too hard to ignore and one night with a lot of alcohol had confession’s of truth spilling from you both. Agreeing to try this out but of course no one could know, not until you both knew it would work of course.
That was a couple of months ago and things had been going rather well. You being an Ever made things slightly harder but both of you worked to find ways to meet in secrecy and have subtle changes in your daily life’s when it came to communication. That’s why it wasn’t uncommon for you to sneak into the Deans room after hours. There would be no students to catch you and should a member of staff see you, then you had a well rehearsed reason to be there.
Entering her room tonight felt different but you couldn’t put you finger on the reason why. With a quick scan of the room you could see nothing was out of its place however, Leonora was no where to be found which is odd. Normally she’s waiting with a signature look that’s just for you as her eyes room your body just drinking in your beauty.
“Nora?” You murmured in a hope she would appear but all that greeted you was silence. Moving forward into her chamber you made your way to her sleeping area. “Nora, darling?” You mumbled before knocking and pushing the heavy oak door open, never in a million years would you have expected the sight in front of you.
In the bed, Leonora was dressed in fussy orange socks with a lion onesie, colouring some pages that looked to be animal prints. Clearly she was in her own little world and you almost felt bad for intruding. Almost. The way she was currently looking at you jade you feel you were more needed than ever before. Being an ever you knew exactly what was going on here.
“Hi darling, watcha got there?” You whispered to her before settling on the edge of her bed. But Leonora said nothing just staring at you with her mouth agape like she’d seen a unicorn or something equally as magical. You couldn’t help but chuckle at her star struck expression, “close your mouth darling, you’ll be catching flys in a minute.”
“Princess” the red head stated still absolutely entranced by you. “You think I’m a princess darling?” You happily fed into her statement hoping to gain her trust. “Pretty” was slurred around the woman’s thumb that had made its way between her lips. It was so obvious what was happening here. With a gasp you responded, “well thank you little darling. I think you’re pretty too.”
Silence fell over the room again, you didn’t mind of course, clearly Leonora needed this and now wasn’t the time to talk about what this was, so you settled for giving her whatever she needed from you in this moment. “Raw!” Lesso growled as she continued to scribble in a pen that could honestly rival the woman’s hair colour. “Such a cute little lion” you murmured to her causing her to smile, not smirk but smile at you and blush. Leonora Lesso doesn’t blush… but your little lion here seemed to be the opposite.
It wasn’t long before Leonora had shoved a pen at you and instructed that you colour in certain areas, “ands no out of lines!” She firmly reprimanded after you went ever so slightly went over the lines. “I’m so sorry little cub” you feigned a pout.
“Im not use to sharing I sorry, I fix it then pretty princess happy and loves Leo lion!” A childish slur causing words to blur together and just sounding adorable. “Thank you little cub, I still love you little lion, how could I not with this cute mane on your head hmm?” You whispered before ruffling the fake mane on the hood of the lion onesie.
It wasn’t long after that small interaction you could see her little balled up fists rubbing at her eyes, a clear indication that it was in fact past midnight. “Little lion, aren’t you getting sleepy yet?” You attempted not knowing how to bring this up with her. But luckily she nodded and crawled straight into your lap, her head nestled into your neck and a hand resting above your heart. It was clear you weren’t going anywhere tonight but opted to soothe Leonora to sleep so you could move the woman without disturbing her. Although the little version of Lesso was okay with you acting like a caregiver that didn’t mean Leonora was too. Your hand gently rubbed soothing circles on her back as you swayed your legs ever so slightly in hopes to comfort her. Just when you thought she’d drifted off you caught her sleepy mumble off, “thank you for looking after me princess.”

Feeling sosososooooo hollow but also fulfilled after reading for once I am small and letting it marinate in my mind the whole day. (I am unfortunately a dad!Sylus enjoyer like it has me chained to the floor) and I just kinda find it tragic/bitersweet that Reader felt comfortable enough with Sylus (whether she fully registered it) to demand these different kinds of love and intimacy and the things in between from him which further spirals after he’s willing to give her what she wants in that moment, whether it’s fatherly love, or something more like a lover. It’s this warped perception of love for the both of them that rlly made their relationship so personal to THEM. Only they can give each other what they really want.
Despite all these titles being thrown around of ‘father/daughter’, ‘wife/husband’, etc etc their relationship rlly isn’t definable, and I find that morbidly sweet, in a way. It is something that is specifically for them, only for them, especially after a lifetime of having nothing. It is something that ties them together, which makes the ending kinda upsetting for me. Reader knew Sylus in ways no one rlly has, and she understood that this isn’t for forever, he will leave as well.
Since, we’re in Reader’s head the whole time, I don’t really know how and what Sylus REALLY thinks about Reader and the whole situation. I do know there’s at LEAST some elements of it being reciprocated because he sheds tears for her and he desires her, holds and comforts her. But since I’m a freak-weirdo for him, I believe the feelings are very much mutual, he loves Reader so dearly in any way she allows him to, and that’s what ultimately leads him to leave, because he kinda holds onto the hope that Reader can flourish without him there as a weight. He feels like he’s fucking her up, and that she can become a ‘normal’ person if he’s out of the picture.
He better come back to her! They need to be fucked up together!!!
This makes no sense and it so rambly I’m so sorry
-🏎️
hello racecar!! really glad to hear your thoughts and that you've enjoyed it (including dad!sylus 😌 no judgement here, none at all 🙂↕️🙏🏼) now about the fic—
the entire narrative does rely heavy on the POV of someone who lacks the right faculties to fully understand/interpret their own needs. what MC demands from sylus is love—and he's all too willing to give it to her, regardless of what that actually entails. there’s never any doubt that he loves her; he’s completely devoted to becoming whatever she needs him to be, whether that’s a father figure or a lover.
it's easy for him to take on the role of "parent" and being the adult one in the relationship, given her fragile state and his natural instinct to meet her needs/provide. and ur right in saying that what they have is something that only works for them. both have equally warped ideas of what love is; they’ve been called monsters, made to feel unwanted by everyone—except by each other.
he takes MCs "monstrous" side in stride. he loves her because of it, not in spite of it. MC in turn clings to him because he’s the very first person who’s ever made her feel like she’s worth loving.
but she also craves to see the monster behind the calm veneer—because that’s the kind of "love" she’s more familiar with. to her, pain is love. and love that doesn’t hurt feels foreign to her, hard to trust.
theyre both equally obsessed with each other, however sylus’ perspective on things is less fractured (??) so when he snapped, he took that loss of control as proof of what he fears the most: that he's no different from the monsters of her past. and that's what ultimately makes the decision for him to leave, believing that it's what’s best for her. :’)
(whew this got longer than intended LMAO + don't worry, you're still on anon 🙂↕️ i shall not perceive you beyond the race car persona 🙏🏼)

The Versatility of Vinyl Tarps in the Transport Industry: Keeping Cargo Safe on the Road
In the fast-moving world of logistics and transportation, protecting cargo during transit is a top priority. Whether it’s construction materials, machinery, produce, or retail goods, anything exposed to the elements on the open road is vulnerable to damage. This is where vinyl tarps come in. These heavy-duty covers are designed to provide superior protection from rain, wind, sun, and debris—making them indispensable in the transport industry.
Vinyl tarps are known for their strength, flexibility, and weather resistance, which makes them suitable for a wide variety of transportation applications. From flatbed trucks and utility trailers to rail shipments and freight yards, vinyl tarps ensure cargo arrives at its destination safe and intact. In this blog, we’ll explore how vinyl tarps are used throughout the transport sector and why they are a trusted choice for professionals who move freight day in and day out.
1. Flatbed Cargo Protection
Flatbed trailers are the workhorses of the transportation world, often used to haul oversized or irregularly shaped loads that can’t be enclosed in a standard trailer. These open platforms require reliable, heavy-duty covers to protect cargo from weather, dust, and road debris. Vinyl tarps are the top choice for this job thanks to their waterproof and UV-resistant properties.
Designed to withstand long hauls and harsh conditions, vinyl tarps can be custom-fitted with reinforced corners, grommets, and D-rings to ensure a tight, secure fit. They’re ideal for covering everything from lumber and steel coils to heavy equipment and building supplies. Their durability helps prevent water damage, rust, and other costly issues that can occur during transport.
2. Moisture and Weather Barrier
When moving cargo across different climates or seasons, exposure to rain, snow, and sun is a constant threat. Moisture can ruin wood products, corrode metal parts, and even compromise the packaging and labeling of consumer goods. Vinyl tarps are fully waterproof and resistant to mildew, making them a reliable barrier in all weather conditions.
In snowy environments, vinyl tarps prevent ice and snow buildup on sensitive cargo. In hot, sunny climates, they block harmful UV rays that can fade or degrade materials. Because vinyl tarps maintain their flexibility in both hot and cold temperatures, they remain easy to work with and dependable across a wide range of conditions.
3. Securing and Containing Loads
Cargo security isn’t just about weather—it's also about keeping everything in place during transit. Wind resistance, vibration, and sharp turns can all cause unsecured items to shift or fall, creating safety hazards and risking damage. Vinyl tarps help secure and contain loads, preventing movement and maintaining order on the road.
With the help of rope-lined hems, reinforced edges, and high-tension tie-down points, vinyl tarps can be tightly fastened to any trailer or vehicle. Their tear-resistant construction holds up against sharp edges and heavy weight, providing a strong layer of containment for loads of all shapes and sizes. This is especially valuable for transporting granular materials like sand, gravel, or agricultural products that need to stay covered.
4. Custom Coverage for Specialized Cargo
Not all cargo is created equal. Some items require tailored protection due to their size, shape, or fragility. Vinyl tarps can be customized to fit unique loads, offering specialized coverage that standard truck tarps can’t match. Whether you need a fitted tarp for a cylindrical object like a pipe coil or a canopy-style cover for a piece of industrial machinery, vinyl tarps can be designed to meet the specific needs of the cargo.
This level of customization reduces wasted space and material, improves handling efficiency, and minimizes the risk of improper coverage. With options like zipper access, flap enclosures, and clear vinyl windows, transport companies can tailor their tarp setup to their exact specifications—boosting both protection and professionalism.
5. Reusability and Long-Term Cost Savings
One of the biggest advantages of vinyl tarps in the transportation industry is their reusability. Unlike lighter alternatives that may need frequent replacing, vinyl tarps are designed for long-term use. Their rugged construction allows them to endure multiple loading and unloading cycles, frequent folding, and rough conditions without breaking down.
This durability translates into real cost savings over time. Instead of continually purchasing replacement covers, transportation companies can invest in a set of high-quality vinyl tarps that last for years. Additionally, many vinyl tarps can be repaired using patch kits, extending their lifespan even further and reducing waste.
Conclusion: A Reliable Ally for Every Mile
In the high-stakes world of transportation, where cargo must arrive safely, on time, and in perfect condition, vinyl tarps are an essential tool. Their ability to withstand extreme weather, secure loads, and adapt to diverse cargo needs makes them one of the most versatile and cost-effective solutions in the industry.
From flatbed hauls to specialized freight, vinyl tarps offer the protection and reliability transport professionals count on every day. With proper use and maintenance, they not only protect cargo—they protect your business’s reputation and bottom line. Whether you’re moving materials across town or across the country, vinyl tarps help ensure that what you ship is what arrives.

The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Best Sandwich Wrap for Your Lifestyle
When it comes to eating on the go, few things rival the convenience, versatility, and satisfaction of a good sandwich wrap. Whether you're packing a quick lunch for work, prepping meals for the week, or looking for a healthy alternative to traditional bread, wraps have become a go-to choice for many people. But not all wraps are created equal—and the one you choose can make a big difference in taste, nutrition, and sustainability.
In this article, we’ll dive into everything you need to know about choosing the best sandwich wrap for your lifestyle, including types, benefits, ingredients to look for, and even eco-friendly wrapping options to help reduce waste.
Why Sandwich Wraps Are So Popular
The rise in popularity of wraps isn’t just a fad—it reflects a real shift in how we think about food. People want meals that are quick, customizable, and portable. A sandwich wrap delivers all that and more:
Portability: Perfect for lunch boxes, work bags, or picnics.
Customizability: From grilled chicken and hummus to roasted veggies and falafel, the options are endless.
Health-conscious alternatives: You can swap out carb-heavy bread for whole wheat, low-carb, or gluten-free wraps.
Wraps also make it easy to pack in a variety of flavors and nutrients in a compact, hand-held form.
Different Types of Sandwich Wraps
There are dozens of options on the market, and choosing the right one depends on your dietary needs, taste preferences, and sustainability goals. Let’s explore the most popular types:
1. Tortilla Wraps
The classic option—soft flour tortillas are widely used and easy to find. They’re perfect for burrito-style wraps and offer a neutral flavor that goes with just about anything.
Pros: Inexpensive, widely available, easy to roll Cons: High in refined carbs, may contain preservatives
2. Whole Wheat Wraps
If you’re looking to increase your fiber intake and reduce processed ingredients, whole wheat wraps are a smart choice.
Pros: Higher in fiber, more nutrients Cons: Can be slightly dry if not paired with moist fillings
3. Spinach or Tomato Wraps
These colorful wraps are often used for visual appeal and a slight flavor twist. They’re a fun way to add variety to your meal prep routine.
Pros: Adds color and mild flavor Cons: Nutritional difference is minimal unless made from real vegetables
4. Low-Carb or Keto Wraps
Ideal for those following specific diets, these wraps are often made with almond flour, coconut flour, or even egg whites.
Pros: Great for low-carb or keto diets Cons: Can be expensive and may have a different texture
5. Gluten-Free Wraps
For individuals with gluten intolerance or Celiac disease, there are many wraps made from rice flour, corn, or chickpea flour.
Pros: Safe for gluten-sensitive eaters Cons: Some brands can be fragile or dry
How to Choose the Best Wrap for Your Needs
When shopping for a sandwich wrap, there are a few key things to consider:
Ingredient List
Look for wraps with fewer and more recognizable ingredients. Avoid those loaded with preservatives, artificial colors, or added sugars.
Texture and Flexibility
The wrap should be pliable enough to fold without cracking or tearing—especially important for packed lunches or meal prep.
Nutrition
If health is a priority, choose wraps high in fiber and protein but lower in sodium and refined carbs. Whole grain options often check all these boxes.
Taste and Pairing
Think about the fillings you typically enjoy and choose a wrap that complements those flavors. A spinach wrap might be perfect with hummus and grilled veggies, while a whole wheat wrap pairs nicely with turkey and avocado.
Wrapping It Right: The Eco-Friendly Way
Beyond the wrap itself, consider how you're storing or transporting your food. Traditional plastic wrap and disposable containers create unnecessary waste. Eco-conscious consumers are turning to sustainable alternatives like:
Beeswax wraps – Reusable, biodegradable, and naturally antibacterial
Silicone food wraps – Durable and perfect for sandwich storage
Compostable parchment paper – A better single-use option than plastic
Choosing the right sandwich wrap isn’t just about the food—it’s about the full experience. By being mindful of your materials, you're helping reduce single-use plastics and making a positive environmental impact.
Easy and Delicious Wrap Ideas
If you're wondering what to put inside your wrap, here are some ideas to inspire your next lunch:
Mediterranean Veggie Wrap
Hummus
Roasted red peppers
Cucumber slices
Feta cheese
Spinach
Drizzle of olive oil
Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap
Grilled chicken breast
Romaine lettuce
Caesar dressing
Shaved Parmesan
Whole wheat wrap
Southwest Turkey Wrap
Sliced turkey
Black beans
Corn
Avocado
Salsa
Shredded cheddar cheese
These recipes are easy to prep in batches and perfect for weekday lunches or quick dinners.
Tips for Meal Prepping Wraps
Keep ingredients separate until you’re ready to assemble. Moist ingredients like tomatoes or dressings can cause wraps to get soggy.
Use parchment or wax paper to tightly roll and secure wraps for storage.
Avoid overfilling. This makes the wrap harder to roll and more likely to burst open.
Store in airtight containers or eco-friendly sandwich wraps to maintain freshness.
Final Thoughts
A great sandwich wrap is more than just a substitute for bread—it’s a versatile, customizable, and eco-friendly way to enjoy your meals. Whether you're focused on nutrition, convenience, or sustainability, there’s a perfect wrap out there for you.
Next time you’re packing lunch, think beyond the sandwich and explore the endless possibilities a wrap can offer. With the right ingredients and storage solutions, you can enjoy fresh, healthy meals that fit your lifestyle and support a greener planet.

The Importance of Durable Cases and Bags for Equipment Safety
When it comes to protecting valuable audio equipment, durable cases and bags are more than just accessories—they’re essentials. Whether you’re a traveling DJ, a musician, or a sound technician, investing in quality cases and bags can mean the difference between keeping your gear in perfect working condition or dealing with costly repairs. In this blog, we’ll break down why durable cases and bags are so crucial, what to look for when choosing them, and how they can save you time, money, and stress.

Why Equipment Safety Matters
Let’s face it: audio gear isn’t cheap. Whether it’s microphones, mixers, or headphones, high-quality equipment represents a significant financial investment. Protecting these items isn’t just about keeping them looking good—it’s about ensuring they perform consistently every time you use them.
Without proper protection, your gear is vulnerable to:
Physical Damage: Dropping a mixer or bumping a microphone during transport can lead to cracked components, loose wires, or worse.
Environmental Hazards: Dust, moisture, and temperature fluctuations can wreak havoc on sensitive electronics.
Wear and Tear: Constantly moving your gear without adequate protection can result in scuffs, scratches, and degraded performance over time.
Durable cases and bags are specifically designed to mitigate these risks, making them an essential part of your gear setup.
What Makes a Case or Bag Durable?
Not all cases and bags are created equal. If you’re going to rely on one to protect your valuable equipment, it’s important to choose wisely. Here’s what to look for:
Material Quality
The best cases and bags are made from high-quality materials that can withstand wear and tear. Hard cases often use materials like ABS plastic or aluminum, while soft bags may feature reinforced nylon or polyester. Look for options that are water-resistant or waterproof for added protection.
Padding and Interior Design
Internal padding is crucial for absorbing shocks and preventing scratches. Many cases and bags come with customizable foam inserts or padded compartments to snugly fit your specific gear. This helps prevent movement during transport, reducing the risk of damage.
Secure Closures
Durable zippers, latches, and locks are non-negotiable. A broken latch or weak zipper can render a case or bag almost useless, so invest in models with sturdy, reliable closures.
Portability and Ergonomics
While protection is key, your case or bag should also be easy to carry. Features like padded straps, rolling wheels, or ergonomic handles can make transporting heavy gear much more manageable.
Types of Cases and Bags
Different types of audio equipment require different kinds of protection. Here’s a quick rundown of some popular options:
1. Hard Cases
Ideal for: High-value or fragile equipment like mixers, microphones, or turntables.
Benefits: Maximum protection against impacts, weather, and other environmental factors.
Downsides: Bulkier and heavier than soft bags.

2. Soft Bags
Ideal for: Smaller, less fragile items like cables, headphones, or accessories.
Benefits: Lightweight, portable, and often more affordable.
Downsides: Less protection compared to hard cases.
3. Hybrid Cases
Ideal for: Versatile use when you need a balance between portability and protection.
Benefits: Combines a semi-rigid exterior with padded interiors for medium-level protection.
Benefits of Using Durable Cases and Bags
Investing in durable cases and bags offers more than just peace of mind. Here are a few tangible benefits:
1. Longevity of Equipment
Properly protected gear lasts longer. By shielding your equipment from physical damage and environmental hazards, cases and bags reduce wear and tear, ensuring that your gear performs reliably for years.
2. Easier Transportation
Moving your gear from one location to another can be stressful, especially if you’re juggling multiple pieces of equipment. A well-designed case or bag makes transportation safer and more convenient, allowing you to focus on your work instead of worrying about your gear.
3. Professionalism
Showing up to a gig or studio session with well-protected equipment reflects a level of professionalism and care. It signals that you value your craft and take your work seriously.
4. Cost Savings
While durable cases and bags may seem like an added expense, they can actually save you money in the long run. Repairs or replacements for damaged equipment can far exceed the cost of a quality protective case.
Tips for Choosing the Right Case or Bag
If you’re ready to invest in durable cases or bags for your gear, here are some tips to guide your decision:
Consider Your Needs: Think about the type of gear you need to protect and how often you’ll be transporting it. This will help you determine whether you need a hard case, soft bag, or hybrid option.
Measure Your Equipment: Ensure the case or bag you choose fits your gear snugly. Too much extra space can lead to movement during transport, while a tight fit may cause unnecessary strain.
Look for Customization Options: Many cases and bags come with adjustable compartments or foam inserts, allowing you to create a tailored fit for your equipment.
Test the Portability: If you’re frequently on the move, choose a case or bag with comfortable handles, straps, or wheels. Portability can make a big difference, especially if you’re carrying heavy gear.
A Final Thought on Buying Cases and Bags
Protecting your audio gear starts with investing in quality cases and bags. While it’s tempting to go for cheaper options, the cost of repairing or replacing damaged equipment far outweighs the initial savings. Purchasing from professional audio shops ensures you’re getting reliable, durable products designed to keep your gear safe.
Durable cases and bags are an essential part of any audio professional’s toolkit. They protect your gear from damage, make transportation easier, and ultimately save you time, money, and stress. By choosing high-quality options that meet your specific needs, you can extend the life of your equipment and focus on what really matters—your craft.
Whether you’re heading to a gig, a studio session, or just storing your gear at home, taking the time to properly protect your equipment is always worth it. So next time you pack up your gear, make sure it’s safely tucked away in a durable case or bag. Your future self—and your wallet—will thank you.

How to Choose the Right Pallet Racking System for Your Warehouse
If you run a warehouse, you know how quickly chaos can take over. Picture rows of goods stacked haphazardly, making it nearly impossible to find anything. Sounds like a nightmare, right? That’s where pallet racking systems come into play. They’re the backbone of efficient warehouse operations, helping you keep things organized, maximize space, and ensure safety. But with so many options out there, how do you choose the right one? Let’s break it down.
Understanding Your Needs
Before you dive into the world of pallet racking systems, you need to take a step back and assess your warehouse’s unique requirements. Think of it as getting to know your warehouse on a deeper level.
Assessing Warehouse Space
Start by measuring your available space. What’s the height of your warehouse ceilings? How wide are your aisles? Understanding these dimensions will help you choose a system that fits like a glove. Remember, every square inch counts when you’re trying to maximize storage.
Inventory Characteristics
What kind of inventory are you dealing with? Are your products bulky, fragile, or perishable? Knowing the nature and size of your goods is crucial. For instance, storing pallets of frozen food requires a different setup than managing lightweight electronics.
Load Requirements
Not all pallet racks are created equal. Some are built to handle heavy-duty loads, while others are better for lighter goods. Make sure to factor in the weight of your pallets to avoid overloading your racks and compromising safety.
Types of Pallet Racking Systems
Now that you’ve got a clear picture of your needs, let’s explore the different types of pallet racking systems. Think of this as your menu of options.
Selective Pallet Racking
This is the most common type, and for good reason. It’s simple, cost-effective, and provides easy access to every pallet. If you’re running a business with high turnover or diverse inventory, this could be your go-to option.
Drive-In and Drive-Through Racking
These systems are perfect for warehouses handling large volumes of similar products. They work like a multi-lane garage, allowing forklifts to drive directly into the racks. While they save space, they’re not ideal for operations needing frequent pallet rotation.
Push-Back Racking
With push-back racking, pallets are loaded onto nested carts on inclined rails. When one pallet is removed, the next rolls forward. It’s a fantastic choice for warehouses needing high-density storage without sacrificing access.
Pallet Flow Racking
This system operates on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) principle. Gravity takes the wheel here, with rollers moving pallets from the loading to the picking end. It’s efficient, but you’ll need to ensure proper maintenance to keep things running smoothly.
Cantilever Racking
If you’re storing long, awkward items like pipes or lumber, cantilever racking is your best bet. Its open design makes it easy to store and retrieve goods that wouldn’t fit on traditional racks.
Key Factors to Consider
Choosing the right pallet racking system isn’t just about finding what works today. You’ve got to think about the long haul.
Budget Considerations
Let’s be honest, cost matters. While you don’t want to skimp on quality, it’s important to find a solution that fits within your budget. Consider not just the initial investment but also long-term costs like maintenance and potential upgrades.
Safety Standards
Safety isn’t negotiable. Look for systems that comply with industry standards and ensure regular inspections. A minor oversight can lead to major accidents, so don’t cut corners here.
Scalability and Flexibility
Your business is growing, right? Choose a system that can grow with you. Modular designs and adjustable racks can save you from having to overhaul your setup down the line.
Implementation Tips
Alright, you’ve picked your system. Now it’s time to make it a reality.
Choosing a Reliable Supplier
Not all suppliers are created equal. Do your homework, read reviews, and ask for references. A good supplier will not only provide high-quality products but also offer valuable advice tailored to your needs.
Professional Installation
Installing a pallet racking system isn’t a DIY job. Hire professionals who know the ins and outs of the process. Trust me, it’s worth the investment to ensure everything is set up safely and correctly.
Regular Maintenance
Even the best systems need a little TLC. Schedule routine inspections to check for wear and tear. Addressing small issues early can save you from costly repairs and potential safety hazards.
Conclusion: Making the Right Choice
Choosing the right selective pallet racking system is a big decision, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By understanding your needs, exploring your options, and considering key factors like budget and safety, you’re well on your way to transforming your warehouse into a well-oiled machine. So, what are you waiting for? Start planning and watch your warehouse’s efficiency soar!

Avoid Common Moving Mistakes with Trusted Furniture Removalists Sydney Services: Are You Setting Yourself Up for a Moving Disaster?
Moving homes is more than just packing boxes and hiring a truck — it’s about avoiding costly mistakes that could turn your big day into a nightmare. Since 2009, Singh Movers From Australia has been helping Sydney residents steer clear of these pitfalls, and today we’re breaking down some hard truths that many removalists won’t share.
Mistake 1: Underestimating the Importance of Pre-Move Planning
Many customers think they can handle planning last minute, but poor preparation often leads to delays, damaged belongings, and skyrocketing costs. A professional Furniture Removalists Sydney service will guide you through a proper timeline.
Mistake 2: Choosing the Cheapest Quote Without Reading the Fine Print
Not all removal quotes are created equal. The cheapest options often come with hidden fees, untrained staff, and poor service standards. Transparency in quotes is non-negotiable.
Mistake 3: Assuming All Removalists Offer Insurance
This is a common misconception. While many removalists advertise 'insurance included,' the coverage is often minimal. Always ask if full replacement coverage is available.
Mistake 4: Not Decluttering Before Moving Day
Paying to move items you no longer need is a waste of time and money. Decluttering before moving can save on packing, space, and effort.

How Trusted Removalists Make a Difference
Clear Communication: From planning to delivery, every step is transparent.
Skilled Staff: Experience matters when handling fragile or heavy items.
Reliable Equipment: Proper tools and vehicles ensure safety.
Accountability: Trustworthy movers take responsibility for your belongings.
Is DIY Moving Really Cheaper?
Many people think a DIY move will save money, but hidden costs like truck rental, fuel, packing supplies, and potential damages often outweigh the perceived savings.
Final Word: Don’t Gamble with Your Move
At Singh Movers From Australia, we’ve seen it all since 2009 — the good, the bad, and the avoidable. Moving mistakes are costly, but with the right removalist, they’re entirely preventable.
So, are you falling into these common traps, or are you setting yourself up for a smooth, hassle-free move? Share your moving stories in the comments below and let’s discuss how we can all move smarter!

What is the Role of Movers Boxes in Protecting Valuables During Your Auckland Move?
Moving in Auckland involves more than just transporting items from one place to another—it’s about ensuring that your belongings arrive safely, especially the fragile and valuable ones. One of the most essential tools for a successful move is the movers box. But what makes these boxes so crucial? Below, we’ll explore the various roles of movers boxes, why they’re necessary for any Auckland moving process, and how to make the best choices to protect your valuables.

Understanding the Importance of Movers Boxes in the Moving Process
Moving boxes are more than just cardboard containers; they’re purpose-built to handle the rigors of a move. For Auckland moving specifically, high-quality movers boxes are essential. The materials and construction ensure durability, keeping items safe from impacts and shifts during transit.
Types of Movers Boxes and Their Specific Uses
Not all movers boxes are created equal. Different items require different types of boxes, and understanding these variations can make packing easier and safer. Here are some common types:
Small Boxes: Perfect for heavy or fragile items like books, dishes, or glassware.
Medium Boxes: Ideal for items of moderate weight, such as kitchen utensils, decor, and electronics.
Large Boxes: Great for lightweight, bulky items like bedding, pillows, and clothes.
Specialty Boxes: These include wardrobe boxes, mirror boxes, and dish pack boxes designed to protect specific valuables.
Each box type is tailored to hold certain items securely, and using them correctly ensures your items are well-protected.
Protecting Fragile Items with Specialty Boxes
For fragile items, specialty movers boxes play a critical role. Dish pack boxes, for instance, come with cell dividers to prevent dishes from moving and breaking. Wardrobe boxes allow you to hang clothes, keeping them wrinkle-free and intact. Movers with boxes that are built to accommodate delicate items are an essential part of safeguarding valuables.
Choosing High-Quality Boxes for Maximum Protection
The quality of a box makes a significant difference in the security of your valuables. Thicker, double-walled boxes provide extra cushioning, reducing the risk of damage to delicate items. Choosing high-quality boxes from a reliable Auckland moving service like Diamond Movers ensures that your belongings are packed in secure, durable containers.
The Role of Packing Materials in Movers Boxes
Even with sturdy boxes, using the right packing materials is key to ensuring your items remain safe. Bubble wrap, packing paper, foam, and cushioning are essential additions. Wrapping each item before placing it in the box prevents direct impact, especially for items that are prone to breaking. For valuables, additional layers of bubble wrap or paper provide an extra barrier against shocks.
Ensuring Optimal Packing Techniques
How you pack items in movers boxes directly affects their safety. For example, always place heavier items at the bottom and lighter, fragile ones on top. Filling empty spaces with packing materials prevents items from shifting inside the box during transit. Securing your boxes with quality packing tape also prevents accidental openings during the move.
Customizing Packing Based on Item Value
It’s essential to consider the monetary and sentimental value of each item when packing. For precious valuables such as heirlooms or fragile decor, customized packing using reinforced boxes is recommended. An experienced Auckland moving service will know how to handle valuables, using high-quality movers boxes and extra care for each item.
How Movers Boxes Reduce Stress and Ensure a Smoother Move
Knowing your valuables are safe and secure reduces stress and allows you to focus on other aspects of the move. Reliable movers with boxes who handle packing and organizing can take a huge burden off your shoulders, giving you peace of mind that your items will reach the new location intact.
Eco-Friendly Movers Boxes: Protecting Belongings and the Environment
Today, many movers are opting for eco-friendly boxes. These recyclable boxes not only help the environment but are also often made with high-quality, durable materials. For an Auckland move, choosing eco-conscious options can protect both your valuables and the environment.
Conclusion
In summary, movers boxes are far more than simple cardboard containers—they are essential tools for protecting valuables during an Auckland moving process. From selecting the right types and sizes to using effective packing materials, movers boxes play a pivotal role in ensuring your items are safe and secure. By choosing a trusted moving service like Diamond Movers that provides specialized packing solutions, you can rest assured that every aspect of your move, especially the protection of your valuables, is handled with utmost care. For anyone moving in Auckland, investing in high-quality movers boxes and professional packing assistance is the key to a smooth, worry-free relocation.

Moving Boxes 101: The Perfect Boxes for a Smooth Move
Whether you’re moving down the street or interstate, one thing’s for certain: you’ll need plenty of boxes for moving. At Caloundra Van Lines, we know how important it is to have the right packing supplies to keep your belongings safe and organized. Here’s everything you need to know about selecting the best boxes for your move, from specialty options to simple tips for packing efficiently.
Why Choosing the Right Moving Boxes Matters
Not all boxes are created equal. If you’ve ever had a box tear under the weight of a stack of books or watched fragile items get damaged during a move, you know what we’re talking about. Different items require different kinds of boxes for safe, organized transport. Here’s a look at the types of moving boxes available and what each is best suited for.
Types of Moving Boxes and Their Uses
1. Standard Cardboard Boxes
Small Boxes (1.5 – 2 cubic feet): Ideal for heavy, dense items like books, tools, or kitchenware. Small boxes are easy to carry and prevent overloading, which is essential for items that would otherwise be too heavy in a larger box.
Medium Boxes (3 cubic feet): Great for packing a variety of household items like toys, small appliances, and décor. These versatile boxes can hold a decent amount without becoming too heavy.
Large Boxes (4.5 – 6 cubic feet): Perfect for lightweight, bulky items like bedding, towels, and pillows. Avoid putting heavy items in large boxes to make lifting easier and safer.
2. Wardrobe Boxes
These tall, sturdy boxes come with a metal bar for hanging clothes directly, keeping your wardrobe wrinkle-free and organized. At Caloundra Van Lines, we often recommend wardrobe boxes (or “portarobes”) for business attire, evening wear, or any clothes you want to keep on hangers. Wardrobe boxes save time on packing and unpacking, as you can transfer clothes straight from closet to closet.
3. Dish Boxes (or Kitchen Boxes)
Dishes, glassware, and other fragile kitchen items require extra care. Dish boxes come with dividers and are designed to keep fragile items protected. These boxes are double-walled for added strength, minimizing the risk of breakage.
4. Picture and Mirror Boxes
Picture frames, mirrors, and artwork need specialized boxes to avoid damage. These boxes are adjustable and can be expanded to fit larger frames. They are ideal for protecting glass and delicate art pieces, with foam or padding inside for extra security.
5. Electronics Boxes
Your electronics need special protection, especially if they’re going long-distance. Electronics boxes are double-walled for durability and often come with built-in padding. If possible, it’s a good idea to use the original boxes for high-value electronics; if not, these specialty boxes are a great alternative.
Additional Packing Supplies to Consider
Beyond boxes, you’ll need some essential packing materials:
Packing Tape: Strong, high-quality packing tape is a must to keep boxes sealed during transit.
Bubble Wrap and Packing Paper: These add a layer of protection to fragile items.
Labels and Markers: Label each box with its contents and the room it belongs in for a smoother unpacking experience.
Furniture Covers: For protecting sofas, mattresses, and other large furniture items.
Tips for Efficient Packing
1. Don’t Overpack Boxes
Heavy items go in small boxes, and light, bulky items go in larger ones. Overpacking boxes can lead to breakage, both of your belongings and potentially the box itself.
2. Label Strategically
Label each box with its contents and destination room. A quick note like “Kitchen – Pots and Pans” will save you time when you’re setting up your new space.
3. Pack by Room
Packing one room at a time helps with organization and keeps the packing process more manageable. This approach makes it easier to load the moving truck and streamline the unpacking process.
4. Reinforce the Bottom of Boxes
Add an extra layer of tape to the bottom of each box for added strength. This simple step can prevent the box from breaking open during the move.

Thinking of You - April ✂️ 2024 - Virgo
Whole of their energy towards Virgo: 3 Wands
Feelings: 5 Cups
Intentions: King of Wands
Actions: 6 Wands
I heard the song from the minute I started shuffling, and I got a message of online dating, for whoever that applies, this person may have uncomfortably pressured you - I assume sexually. They’re disappointed in themselves or maybe how you see them now because of this, you could automatically jump to the worst conclusion about them or something, expecting Devil behavior from them - and it makes them sad. This could also be a flirty friend or coworker. If you think they’re all about sex, yeah they do come up as a fiery one, but they want to change your mind on that. Now if it’s not romantic, then this is a person that may have seen some darkness - either in you or not, and now expects it. From you or everyone idk. Some of these people are heavily pressured by their own actions, and what you’ll say about it, because they are regretful.
In their feelings is a deep sadness, focus on a hurt that has been done, probably by their own hand I’m getting. Here it shows Knight of Wands, in the intentions is King of Wands, they want to show you they’re better than that or they’ve matured since whatever impulsive/passionate action hurt you in the past. An apology at the bottom. They’re definitely sincere, idk what they did but they mean it. They intend to persevere through their mistakes, whatever they’ve done, and whatever silent treatment you’re giving them right now. I mean 🤷🏻♀️ There’s something appealing about a person that takes charge and wants to prove it - that’s what you want and that’s what they’re doing, it’s up to you. In action, it’s liable to surprise the hell out of you, that could be their intention. If you want a confession or fifty page list of all their wrongs, it looks like you’re getting it. Full accountability, they miss you, think of you constantly, will probably talk about the past a lot or being you up to speed on their personal improvements. They want victory with you, and they’ll do whatever it takes 💯
Messages:
Their side:
- Follow My Lead
- Living My Life
Your side:
- Light of my Life 💡
- There’s no one else for me.
Oracles:
Give me nirvana I can dance to 💃
Friendship 👯♂️
Team - Connection - Network
Illness 🤒
Disease - Weakness - Fragility
Possible signs:
Heavy fire 🔥 Leo, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Capricorn & Aries
If you’re dealing with:
Justice shows you’re focused on fairness, balance, equality and being truthful, setting any necessary boundaries on people or situations that threaten your peace or making any necessary decisions in regards to others - with fairness ruling above all. Could involve the law for some. Or switch it.
Aries - if one of you is holding onto grudges or shit from the past, the other person is over it and peaceful with how things turned out, they’re patient with the closed-off person
Taurus - silent treatment, not even saying what’s upsetting them, they’re just quiet 🤐 and the other person might not even care
Gemini - could get into some reckless or dangerous trouble regarding a car or travel if they’re not careful - impulsive or foolish. If romantic, they could randomly show up at midnight or otherwise surprise you with fun
Cancer - someone you work with that you have feelings for and hope to move forward with romantically - or they do
Leo - madly in love with you, could be a soulmate, ready to jump into something new and exciting
Virgo - could be lgbt, going through a separation, or a very popular person at work with a big personality - they’re really smart too, could just be someone that advises you
Libra - hopes to reconnect & celebrate with you, wants to be around you after some time apart, but they’re waiting on you, could just be really happy for you if you’re celebrating 🥳
Scorpio - a deeper commitment is on the table with them, started out with attraction & passion but they want it to be more - or you’re both moving forward in love 😻
Sagittarius - could be your boss, they have their hands in 20 different pots, a very busy work-orientated person, don’t have time for anything
Capricorn - stuck and unable to do something because of money, or they’re spending money on things that aren’t good/healthy for them
Aquarius - biding their time through the disappointment but happy for a new start, whenever it comes, that’s what they want
Pisces - there’s a lot they feel they don’t know, or you don’t, and fear around the truth coming out - or what someone has to say generally

___________________
Most people go to bars after a breakup, numbing themselves from the pain of a broken heart. Some stay at home, curled under a blanket and hiding themselves from the world. Hob had been there, sitting at the corner of his couch and taking on equal amounts of whiskey and ice cream until he was (literally) sick with it.
Morpheus, however, could be found in the stacks of the campus library. Hidden away in silence, sitting on the floor against a wall of books, losing himself in dry, educational text. Distracting his brain from the sentimental, emotional, raw feelings of rejection with the names of dead kings, scientific formulas, or art theory.
“Knew I’d find you cooped up in here, feeling sorry for yourself.”
Hob spoke softly, walking up to his oldest and best friend, crouching down next to him. Morpheus spared him a glance before swinging his eyes– blue, like sapphires, like polished stone glinting in the sun– back to the dull and dusty tome opened on his lap.
Hob remained perched on his heels, watching, waiting for Morpheus to snap out of it. It sucks that Calliope broke up with him, they really seemed great together (even though watching them together, Morpheus holding her hand, pulling her into even a casual kiss, made something ugly and green roar inside of Hob). But what makes the whole thing worse is the reason.
“Too much…” Morpheus had told him. He was too much for her. Too fast, too intense, and her sisters worried about her settling before she was ready, swayed by Morpheus’ eagerness. Hob hated that. He hated the idea of breaking up with someone because they loved too much.
Hob was desperate to be loved like that. To be the only person in his partner’s orbit, to be the only man worthy of Morpheus’ attention. To be loved so intensely, so frequently that Hob would ache with it, would suffocate with it, drown in it, everything. Everything. He wanted to be everything to Morpheus.
But Hob was his friend, had been since childhood, and that was enough. It was enough to even be in his life, no matter how platonic and at arm's length. So what if Hob had to be there to pick up the pieces of Morpheus’ shattered heart. Offering him comfort, encouraging words and booze to drink, if he so wished.
So what if Hob saw the most fragile, frail side of him and Morpheus never seemed to understand how he was pouring his love into him, filling the cracks and splinters with his soul, his breath, his wanting. Hob had hoped, foolishly, that one day Morpheus would figure out his little crush, his obsession, and act on it. But as the years went on and Morpheus continued dating other people that were decidedly not Hob, he figured it was nothing more than a fantasy
And of course Hob dared not reveal his own feelings, worried to death how that would affect their friendship. He’d never forgive himself for demolishing a perfectly good foundation, the history that they’d already built. As friends. Best friends.
And best friends do not fall hopelessly in love with each other.
“Must be a really good book.”
“I must confess,” Morpheus finally spoke, sighing tiredly. “I have been reading the same page for ages now.”
“Let’s move on then.” Hob slapped his thighs, standing to full height and offering his hand down to Morpheus.
Hob felt himself grin as Morheus studied his hand, watching it like it might bite. Hob wiggled his fingers and Morpheus finally relented, closing the heavy book and taking Hob’s hand, hefting himself up.
—-------------------
It was not proper weather for an outing to the beach, the sky was graying and a breeze had kicked up, carried by the water. But Hob had insisted, taking off his shoes and rolling his pants up past his ankles, encouraging Morpheus to do the same.
His toes sunk into the cool sand as they walked just out of reach of the shore, the tide ebbing and flowing, scaring off the Curlews who poked their beaks into the sand, searching for morsels.
Hob swung his shoes, stuffed with his socks, in one hand, smiling in amusement as Morpheus did the same, though his arms didn’t swing. His fingers stuck in the loops of his heavy black boots, hanging low and barely moving. He looked dead ahead, his brows furrowed, like he was thinking too hard.
“Hey,” Hob pushed his shoulder into Morpheus’, bumping him out of his thoughts.
“You’re too good for her.”
Morpheus sighed, his eyelids slipping shut, but he kept pace with Hob, kicking up sand now.
“I’m not good.” Morpheus says at length, his eyes opening again, but the stress is gone, replaced with tired acceptance. “I’m selfish and greedy and…” he huffed, a humorless laugh. “Rational. Which I’ve learned recently is just as bad as being irrational.”
“That what Calliope said?”
Morpheus shook his head, his midnight dark hair ruffling in the breeze.
“That’s what everyone says.”
Hob keeps his eyes on him as they walk, slowly, not so much enjoying the sounds of the waves coming in, or the soft grit of the sand underfoot, but relaxing in the company of one another.
“I like your rationality,” Morpheus peeks over at Hob’s words. “Balances out my impulsiveness.”
“Yes,” Morpheus sighs, amused, the corner of his mouth curling up. “I must keep you in check.”
“I like it.” Hob feels his neck heat up, looking away from his friend as Morpheus swings his head back to him. “Helps me stay out of trouble.”
Morpheus hums, a quiet settling over them once more.
There’s no one else on the beach, and it’s almost eerie, but it’s also relaxing. Knowing they are alone, staring down the coast that stretches on for miles, reveling in the large clouds that move quickly with the wind. The sunlight that manages to peek through the clouds is setting in the distance, casting a deep indigo across the sky. but Hob feels comforted anyway, in good company, and only hopes Morpheus feels the same. His sweater hangs thick and heavy around him and Morpheus’ jacket hugs tightly to his frame, barely bristing in the breeze.
“Thank you,” Morpheus says, the minutes wasting away. “For dragging me out here. I needed this.”
“To feel the sand between your toes?” Hob teases, smiling.
“Mm…” Dream hums, his own smile threatening to break through. “To feel grounded.”
“Anytime.”
Hob looks down, movement caught in his periphery, and watches Morpheus move his boots from one hand to the other, using his freed hand to tentatively grab onto his, slowing their walk to a stop.
Hob only has time to gasp softly before Morpheus is pulling him into a one-armed hug, his face tucking into his neck.
Hob immediately drops his shoes to get both arms properly around his friend, pulling him close and shutting his eyes with it. He feels himself unintentionally rocking them back and forth, like a mother soothing her child.
Though that is the last metaphor on Hob’s mind. Especially as he feels Morpheus drop his boots too, both arms now around Hob’s shoulders, with his around Morpheus’ middle, holding him close, reveling in the heat that emits from his slim frame.
Morpheus inhales deeply, as if he intends to pull Hob into him, sucking his very essence into him, curling further, crushing Hob against him like Hob’s a glue meant to put Morpheus back together.
Hob’s hands move, rubbing soothing motions on Morpheus’ back and failing to hold in a full body shudder that nearly decimates him as Morpheus exhales, long and low and hot against his throat.
Hob’s eyes open, staring into the horizon, scanning the dark water and choppy waves, distracting himself from his own feelings. His own stupid heart racing in his chest, trying out for a marathon run. His stomach clenched in delight, in anticipation, fighting down the urge to turn his head, to press a kiss to Morpheus’ head, to nuzzle his nose past feather soft hair… to sob wearily.
Morpheus needed comfort. Not– this. But the longer they stood there, locked in each other's embrace, Hob couldn’t help but imagine this was happening under different circumstances. That Morpheus clung to him out of want, out of affection. That Morpheus’ cold nose dug into the flesh behind Hob’s ear with intention to lay a kiss there, to bite and leave a mark.
Christ Hob was a goner. And he was so resolutely fucked.
After a moment, the seconds ticking away and hedging on too much, too far, Morpheus speaks again, his low voice and deep timbre rattling Hob’s brain.
“I’ve been thinking lately…”
“Dangerous.” Hob grins, tapping his fingers now along Morpheus’ spine, certain he can feel the knobs of it even under layers of shirt and jacket.
Agonizing seconds pass, and Hob wonders when a good time to pull back would be (never, he never wants to pull away from this), when Morpheus whispers, soft, careful:
“About you.”
Hob feels his stomach give a delighted swoop.
He licks his lips, finds them chapped. “What about me?”
A pause. Hob feels his blood racing, his nerves singing. Morpheus finally pulls away, but not far, keeping his hands on Hob’s shoulders, their faces mere inches apart.
“I didn’t fight. When Calliope suggested we separate, I didn’t fight for her.” Morpheus looks bewildered with this revelation, his eyes never leaving Hob’s. “I didn’t beg her to reconsider. All I was thinking about was… you.”
Hob swallows, not daring to speak or move, frozen to the spot. He feels his pulse pounding in his ears, it’s a miracle he can hear Morpheus speak again.
“And I was thinking about our time together… all that we’ve been through… how much you selflessly care for me.” He shakes his head, like Morpheus can’t believe it, his eyes trailing down, as if taking Hob in, settling– Hob feels a spike of want stab through his body– on his mouth.
“You pick me up, you always have. You’ve stayed for so long, despite my ridiculousness– my inability to cope.”
Morpheus’ gaze swings back up, regarding Hob’s eyes again.
“Are you in love with me?”
Hob’s jaw drops, his heart halting in his chest before kicking up again, nearly making him dizzy. But before he can say anything, Morpheus leans in, just a touch closer, noses brushing.
“Because I’m in love with you.”
“Oh.” Hob eloquently says. His body is vibrating, he can feel it.
And Morpheus is still staring at him, watching, waiting for something. Hob licks his lips again, catching Morpheus’ eyes slipping down, and doesn’t hesitate as he leans in.
Kissing Morpheus, his best friend, doesn’t feel real. Like Hob is in a dream and could float away any minute.
So he hangs on, tightening his hold around Morpheus as he moves his lips, pressing harder, reveling in the way they fit together, like two halves of a whole finally reconnected.
Morpheus’ arms slide back around Hob’s shoulders, getting his hands in his hair and lighting Hob up, his groan muffled as Morpheus slips his tongue– insistent– past Hob’s parted lips.
Hob is on fire. The long, pianist fingers knotting into his hair coupled with the way Morpheus’ tongue sweeps the inside of his mouth, like he intends to memorize it, sets Hob ablaze. Morpheus tastes like earl gray tea and rainwater and something indescribable, something heady that makes Hob’s head spin, makes him crazy.
The whine Morpheus makes as Hob pulls back, only to bite at his bottom lip, turning into a moan so salacious it causes Hob to momentarily forget where they are, his hips jerking involuntarily, searching for friction.
“Fuck– Morpheus–”
“You haven’t answered my question,” Morpheus gasps, breathless and misty. Hob finds his eyes and sees how blown his pupils are, the black such a stark contrast to the bright blue of the iris.
“What?” Hob breathes, going back in to kiss along the sharp edge of Morpheus’ jaw, dragging his lips and tongue and teeth to his ear, nipping it and grinning at the noise that pulls out of Morpheus.
“Do you– ahh–” Hob feels Morpheus’ pulling him in impossibly closer as he bites behind Morpheus’ ear, sucking at the skin there.
“Do you love me?”
Hob laughs gently, elated, getting his own hands in Morpheus’ hair, moving them to face each other once more.
“Yes, you impossible creature. I love you.”
Morpheus smirks and it nearly strikes Hob down. He’s never seen Morpheus so… confident, his eyes sparkling with mischief, with euphoria.
“Will you show me,” Morpheus leans in, brushing their lips. “...how much you love me?”
Hob has to bite down something animalistic, something feral that rises in his chest, threatening to come out as a growl. Instead his fingers clench in Morpheus’ hair, pulling to expose his neck (Hob’s arousal jumping in his pants at the choked off noise that comes from Morpheus’ lips, unbidden).
“Yes.”

Bucky’s chest rose and fell with his even breathing as my head rested on his bare chest. He had flipped me at some point, and my right leg was hooked around his waist, and his metal arm gently gripped me at the knee. It was holding it in place under the blankets. I turned my head, and my eyes rested on his alarm clock, and the digital numbers read 3:45 am.
And it was cold.
I tucked my head into his neck and let out a soft breath, and his flesh arm wrapped around my waist, stroking the bare skin of my hip.
“What are you doing awake?” He griped sleepily.
“cold…” I snuggled closer.”You're warm.”
“You're wearing panties and a t-shirt in the dead of winter in Brooklyn.” he deadpanned. “Of course, it’s cold.”
I flicked his forehead, and his brows furrowed. He turned his gaze to me and rolled his eyes. “What?”
“Rude.” I yawned, rubbing my eye with my hand.
He let out a groggy chuckle.
“Darlin’, it is too early to be awake. I gotta go to work early for inventory.” his thumb rubbed circles on my hip, and I shut my eyes. “Besides, you have an appointment with Natasha, right?”
“Yeah, after my shift at the Vans store down the street, at the shop,” I mumbled, feeling sleep starting to take over, making my limbs heavy.
“James Buchanan Barnes, get out!” Natasha scolded, pushing him out of the piercing space. “She is fine.”
She shut the door behind him, and I sighed. She laughed and sat on her rolling stool, and I laughed, shaking my head.
“Has he been like this all day?”
“protective?”
She nodded.
“Since my failed date, yes.” I groaned. She rolled her eyes, and I nodded, equally annoyed. After washing her hands, she set up her tray and black latex gloves. She faced me and clapped her hands together.
“Alrighty, lay back on the bench and lift your shirt so I can mark the piercing placements.”
“Keep them clean and no irritants. Clean twice a day, and they should heal fine.” she smiled, helping me sit back up. She brought a handheld mirror over, and I took it. I looked at the piercings before gently pulling my shirt down and tugging my hoodie.
“They should be fine. If not, come back in, and I’ll check them out.”
I got situated in my chair, and she opened the door so that I could leave. I went into the waiting room and passed Bucky as he was tattooing. I waved, and he glanced with a half-grin, “See you at home, sweets.”
I pulled my keys from my bag and unlocked my car just as the snow started falling.
Gross.
I put on my beanie and put my hood up.
“You could wait until I'm finished.” Bucky’s voice rang out once he spotted the snow and how heavy it was.
I shook my head.
“It’s okay, Buck.”
“Could give Steve a call or a text?” he asked again, and I turned to him. He raised his brow at me rolling his shoulders. “He’d come pick you up. it’s too nasty outside anyway.”
“Fine,” I grumbled, taking my hood down. “You are too protective sometimes.”
I pulled my phone out and opened my messages. Glaring at Bucky once his back was turned. I typed out the message with a sigh to Steve: Can you come pick me up at White Wolf Tattoo & Piercing? Buck is not letting me drive and he can't drive me to the apartment.
His response was relatively quick and short: Sure thing!
“I could have driven,” I grumbled as Steve lifted my chair over his shoulder. “I’m not fragile.” Steve smiled and put my chair in the backseat of his truck. He got into the driver's seat, turning toward me.
“He knows that, but it is pretty nasty, and you don't have your winter tires yet.”
We drove in silence except for the quiet lull of the radio playing. I twisted my rings around my fingers and nibbled on the inside of my cheek. Steve glanced at me, barely taking his eyes off the road. “Anything you want to talk about, kid?”
I scoffed.
“I’m twenty-five, Rogers. A year younger than you, two years younger than Bucky.” And definitely more than his roommate I think. I thought, fighting the urge to blush. “Definitely not a kid.”
He shook his head with a laugh.
“I know that. It's an expression.” He pulled up to our apartment and shut the engine off. I unbuckled, and Steve got out and got my chair set up. “Do you need help?” I nodded once he opened my door, and I swung my legs around, and he wrapped an arm around my waist and got me on my feet and into my chair.
“You're shivering.”
My teeth chattered, and I glared. “Yeah, it's near freezing and snowing, dumbass. Can you push me in because it's too cold.” he nodded, and we began going inside and headed toward my and Bucky's apartment.
“Bucky’s shift ends in an hour. Do you need anything?” he asked, crouching in front of me by the couch. I shook my head. “I know you don't need help, but I can get you anything before leaving.”
“I'm fine, Steve. I'm just going to order some food and watch TV.” He nodded, stood up, rubbed his bearded face, and fixed his jacket. His boots clunked on the floor as he went to leave. “I’ll be fine. I lived here for two years alone.”
He left, and I pulled out my phone.
“Hey, doll.” He looked at me with a short chuckle looking at my attire. “I see we are forgoing pants.”
My brows furrowed, and I looked down.
Oh. Yeah.
I swallowed my food quickly and waved. The couch sank under his weight, and he stole a bite of my sandwich. But I smacked his hand away when he reached for my chips and fries.
“Hey!”
“What?” he asked through the mouthful of food. “It was one bite.” I frowned, shoving him with my shoulder.
“Your food is in the fridge. I got you your usual from Luciano’s Café.” He stood up and made his way to the kitchen. I continued eating, hearing him get his food in the background, and he joined me soon after settling.
“How’d it go with Nat?”
I swallowed.
“Uh, good. The piercings look great.”
“Hm.”
He grumbled, not really paying any attention.
“Something wrong about—” I couldn't finish my thought before there was a banging knock on the apartment door. Bucky grumbled under his breath, standing up, his food on the coffee table.
“Who’s here?” Bucky shrugged, and I shook my head. “It’s not Steve?” Bucky glanced through the peephole and swore. I froze mid-bite as he glanced back. He opened the door, and my eyes went wide at seeing Gedeon in the doorway.
You could visibly see Gedeon trying to appear taller.
“She doesn't want to see you.” Bucky bit out. “I should have you arrested for trespassing.”
“She owes me.”
Bucky’s jaw locked, and he crossed his arms.
“What exactly is owed?” The glare of Gedeon was unrelenting. Then it clicked in Buck's mind, and he chuckled wryly.
“Oh. No, that is never happening.” He laughed humorlessly. “You are never touching her.”
He slammed the door in Gedeon’s face, and I flushed.
“Are you okay?” I asked meekly. He stomped back over to the couch and sat down, ignoring me. “Buck?” He still did not respond and glowered.
“What, Ophelia?” he growled.
“I’m sorry.”
His posture faltered, and his face softened. His metal hand found my thigh under the blanket, and he rubbed small circles on it. I scooted closer, and he let out a breath.
“I'm sorry, sweetheart.”
I smiled softly, tucking my hair behind my ear, focusing on the TV.
“Y’know, I'm curious what Nat pierced.”
“You would, wouldn’t you?” I jeered with a dry chuckle. “Nice try.” he laughed, adjusting himself on the couch. He licked his lip, and I rubbed my arm.
“Please, sweetheart.” he all but moaned. I sucked in a breath and shifted my weight. “I bet they look great.”
I shivered at his tone. I nodded. “I think they do,”
His eyebrows rose up, and he grinned. "I like being close to you. you’re warm." I mumbled as he pulled me close to him.
"Hm?" There's a smirk in his voice, and his eyes trailed down to my chest. "Aren't those something." I could feel the goosebumps forming and the wetness pool.
"W-what?"
"They look good, baby." His voice rasped. "Can I really look at them?" I nodded, and his hands found my shirt, and he peeled it off my body, and his eyes darkened. "Well, wouldya look at that." He trailed a flesh finger around one, and I gasped.
"Nat said it'll take about a year for them to fully heal."
He nodded.
"What should we do, huh?"
"Do you really want me? Or is this your way of getting back at Gedeon?"
His lips ghosted on my throat, moving to my lips and weaving a hand through my hair. Metal arm firm on my thigh.
“No.”
My breathing hitched, and he paused. He tucked his fingers under my chin and turned me to look at him.
"Are you alright?"
I nodded. “Yes.”
"Just wondering what you see in me? Because clearly, you're the only guy …except Steve who sees me as well…as me." He tucked hair behind my ear and kissed my lips chastely, metal fingers playing with the very thin fabric clinging to my hips. I shivered at the coldness and gasped, feeling him tugging at my bottom lip.
“I see a sweet, caring —but assertive woman. Someone who drives me insane in all the right ways. I just want to make you see stars tonight.”
“You’re insatiable,” I mumbled into his mouth, slotting our lips together, his flesh hand tangling in my hair. He nibbled at my lips, letting out a breathy laugh. My hands clasped behind his neck, and I let out a whimper at the friction of his pants as I pulled myself to him the best I could. He groaned at the action and gripped my hips.
I grabbed at his shirt, and he pulled it off, and it landed on the edge of the coffee table.
“What’s in the package, doll?” his eyes wandered to the torn open—well, I failed at the opening part—package on the couch. I shrugged with a slightly mischievous smile, kissing his lips and jaw. When I didn’t answer, his hand weaved back into my hair, and he tugged, not hard, with a growl.
“Something we could definitely use.” I gasped. It was quick, hasty kisses. Like he couldn't get enough. Pulling me as close as my body would allow him to. He fumbled, grabbing the stark white shipping box and breaking the kiss.
He tore open the box, tossing it across the span of the living room and tearing into the plastic. He raised his brows, and his eyes flitted to mine. I licked my bottom and bit down.
"It's—uh—hands-free." I stammered. He traced my cheek with his index finger, and I keened into the warmth. His lips twitched into a smile.
“Interesting.”
I reddened at his tone, and my skin felt hot. It sent shivers up my spine.
“It uh—” I dropped off, looking off to the side. He gripped my chin, forcing me to look at him.
“Sweetheart. We've been hot and heavy. Are you okay?” I nodded and cupped his face, kissing him and his jawline. He cupped my neck and kissed me hastily, and in a matter of seconds, he stood up, making me squeak out in shock. We made our way to my bedroom and sat down on the bed.
"I can see the fucking mess you're making of yourself." He muttered as he dropped to kiss my thighs. "But I'm serious; tell me if you want to stop."
“James, I swear to fucking god, if you don’t use that toy or do anything to me. I will make you sleep at Steve's place.”
He chuckled, but I shot him a glare that shut him up.
“Yes, ma’am.” he got onto his feet and yanked his jeans off, and they fell to the ground with a clink, thanks to his belt. My heart thundered against my ribcage at the sight of him, to the point my skin felt hot under his touch as his hand trailed up my thigh to my hip, kissing every inch he could, still wary of my new piercings. “Never actually seen your room,” he chuckled. I swallowed; he hadn’t. I haven't had any falls or emergencies since he moved in. “It's cute.”
I had to bite back a remark about it being cute. He climbed up, his back resting against my headboard, not before pulling me to him into his lap. “Hm? Cute?” I smirked, capturing his lips with mine. He nodded, and his hand made its way to stroke my spine. Back were fervent kisses and hastiness to go further. His flesh hand pulled the thin material to the side and muttered something Russian. Whatever it was, it sounded obscene. I chewed my lip nervously. His voice was like velvet, smooth and soft.
He circled his index finger in gentle circles, pressing down. I let out a whine. I nodded and brushed my fingers along his face and brushed his hair from his face. He smiled, thumbing at my lips. “So beautiful.”
“Bet you thought how my cock would fill you, how good it would feel, huh?” He slid his middle finger in, my eyes widened, and he kissed my hair, murmuring, “You can take it; I know you can.”
"B-Bucky." my voice broke. I squirmed as he added his ring finger, picking up the pace. It made me shiver. His thumb grazed my clit, rubbing in small circles.
"Good girl—that's my good fucking girl.” my breathing fastened, and I felt my fingers grasp his necklace before my head fell to his shoulder.
“So…are you a couple now?” I heard Steve ask from the chair he sat on; I flushed at the question. The beer in my system made my head buzz. No. I thought. But he fucked me senseless the night of the date. Natasha is on his lap. She smacked him on the chest and fixed him with a glare, and his eyes widened.
He rubbed the spot with a slight pout. “Ow.”
I played with my hoodie strings wrapping them around my fingers and looked down. Bucky’s metal thumb grazed the skin of my hip under the waistband of the shorts I wore. I felt him shrug at Steve’s words. “That's not up to me. It's up to her.”
I couldn’t sleep, so I quietly made my way to the living room. I sat on the couch and turned on Netflix. I turned on 10 Things I Hate About You and let it play quietly. I nervously twisted the rings on my fingers and tugged at my hoodie sleeves, pulling them over my hands.
My mind was swimming. Were we a couple? No, we couldn’t be, could we? You couldn’t be dating someone, for there hadn’t been any dates, only two very sexual encounters, and nothing in between.
Definitely not a couple. My mind thought.
A yawn broke my thoughts, and I turned toward the small hall with our bedrooms; Bucky was in gray sweats and his beloved torn-up Mötley Crüe t-shirt. The shirt was really beaten up, yet he refused to trash it. It had a hole in the neck and under the right armpit, barely holding it together.
“What’re you doing up ?”
“Thinking.”
He sighed, coming over to me. He crouched in front of me, his flesh hand gripping my chin, pressing a kiss to my forehead, standing up to sit next to me, pulling my legs into his lap, and I brought my head to rest on his shoulder.
“Thinking can wait until tomorrow,” he murmured, pressing a half kiss to my hair. “After you sleep, my love.”
“Now, what’re we watching?”

I was thinking about it while I was in the shower, so here’s another Hot Take on the discussion on whether we can (or should) consider technoblade as abusive
a lot of interactions between technoblade and other characters are difficult to gauge because c!techno obviously isn’t honest about his feelings at all times On Top Of cc!techno Very Rarely If Ever being completely in character, including and especially with very serious lore scenes. so how we’re meant to take anything he does or says is hard to parse, especially with the knowledge that other creators can take scenes seriously and incorporate it into their lore even if it wasn’t the intention at the time (like jack’s death at tommy’s hands during exile).
(technoblade has only recently come out to state that he’s intentionally playing his side of the story lighter to give people a break from the heavy angst in the rest of the server, but that’s hardly new. he broke the tension all the time during his partnership with tommy, namely with the confrontation with dream at the portal and tommy and tubbo’s first reunion, but it was even noticeable with doomsday, his perspective is a Palpably different tone from Anyone on the l’manberg side of things. which can make some Very interesting inconsistencies when it’s directly slammed into tommy’s more serious roleplaying style.)
you can Easily read him as Either a purely opportunistic character who uses the guise of being deeply emotionally wounded as a justification for Horrific Violence when he was never that emotionally invested in the first place Or a character that is rarely if ever honest and open with his feelings, who hurts other people by accident by trying to downplay his own vulnerability who is Nevertheless deeply emotionally invested in and impacted by the people around him. both interpretations can be soundly backed up by what we’ve been given and we can’t really discount the other reading because of the semi-canoncity of whatever technoblade does. we aren’t really gonna know unless technoblade himself decides to address it specifically.
so with that in mind, I want to take a second to take a more charitable reading, not as an argument that technoblade’s relationship with tommy Wasn’t unhealthy (because it objectively was no matter the reading of his intentions) but to ground the overall conversation a little bit here.
this, I think, is where the nuance in the intersection between “technoblade didn’t have the full picture of what happened with dream and tommy” and “technoblade knew enough to know that what he did on doomsday was wrong” Matters.
if we read technoblade as a character that genuinely cares but either chooses not to or doesn’t know How to express those emotions in a healthy productive way (“tsundereblade” ala the scene of ranboo giving techno the axe) Combined With techno’s very dry sense of humor then it Is very possible to read some of the more uh, Unfortunate things that he’s said in a different light. which doesn’t excuse them by any means, people hurting their friends by not being emotionally honest or through jokes that hit harder than intended happens all the time and it’s the responsibility of that friend to apologize and change their behavior. but at the same time, people can’t actually change their behavior if they don’t know that what they’ve done is wrong.
we need to keep in mind that: - both technoblade And tommy express their affection with their friends by ribbing them. making fun of each other Is a sign of affection for them. if we’re meant to read that as part of their characters then it may not be entirely fair to say that technoblade should’ve known that putting tommy down was going to hurt him
- technoblade knows (or assumes) that dream wants to kill tommy and he knows that tommy has trauma. but technoblade Doesn’t know that dream systematically destroyed tommy’s self confidence to the point of being suicidal. he Doesn’t know how fragile tommy is about his own self worth, and he Doesn’t know that that kind of joking would hit tommy differently now than it would’ve back during their pogtopia days.
- technoblade knows that tommy was a child soldier, he knows that he was forced out of his home and isolated by someone that he’d trusted and loved, and he directly relates tommy’s betrayal to his own. he’s more likely to think that tommy’s mental state Now has more to do with l’manberg than dream specifically even if he recognizes dream as a threat to tommy.
none of this makes techno putting down tommy’s self worth Right, it doesn’t mean that we have to look at him charitably when he tells someone to their face that they aren’t equals only to turn around and destroy a country when he thinks he’s being dehumanized. but I also think that we can’t necessarily assume that he 100% devalued tommy both as a person and a friend from that interaction.
moreover, technoblade was For Sure being opportunistic in trying to recruit tommy. I’ve made my own analysis on techno obviously trying to prime tommy for a partnership at the start of tommy’s exile. but at the same time, I don’t think that’s necessarily Solely about taking advantage of what tommy could do for him, especially since he was trying to recruit tommy before he’d had his mind set on actively destroying l’manberg.
assuming that technoblade was as hurt by tommy as he was because he genuinely Cared about tommy, because he and tommy Were friends and he enjoyed his company, then he very well could’ve recognized that tommy being betrayed by the same people he was would open him up to being able to relate to him. techno and tommy have very fun interactions when there’s nothing driving them against each other, but they’re fundamentally incompatible on their morality and philosophies.
so the obvious solution to that would be one showing the other that their way of thinking was wrong, to let their relationship thrive without that barrier between them. and like, obviously technoblade is the extremist of the situation, it’s a little hard to swallow him trying to change tommy when he’s the one that refuses to compromise even when tommy tries to do it for him. but I think it’s worth recognizing when we’re having a conversation about whether or not he Solely saw tommy as an asset to use rather than a companion. if you choose to read techno as someone who refuses to compromise on his ideals but craves that interaction anyways, then the way he scooped tommy up while trying to relate tommy’s situation to his own, trying to convince them that l’manberg was bad for him, etc, can be read in a Much Less overtly malicious light. it’s still not a Healthy one, but at least it’s not Child Labor Meat Shield.
this particular reading Does have the fact that techno didn’t try to recruit anyone else on its side. for the entirety of tommy’s exile up until doomsday he didn’t try to seek out partnerships with anyone, even though there were Several people unaffiliated with l’manberg at the time. he sought tommy out the First Day of his exile, surely the moment he heard of it, and he was Noticeably Eager to partner with him the moment he’d found him in his house. if that was nothing but pure unadulterated ambition and opportunity seeking then you’d think he’d try to make at least One ally in the meantime.
then again, tommy was the most vulnerable person on the server at the time, you don’t have to know about tommy’s abuse to know that. if you choose to read techno as solely opportunistic then it’s easy to dismiss all of that and say that techno went for tommy because he saw it as the safest bet and that he didn’t gun for any other allies before him because he didn’t see it as immediately necessary until he’d been provoked. but on the other hand, it makes a lot of Sense that a character who’d just cut himself off from every ally he could’ve had but One would be kind of desperate for any chance at connection that he could get. that he’d seize the opportunity specifically Because he enjoyed his relationship with tommy before it went south and he wants to have a close partnership like that again.
technoblade’s a highly paranoid character, so you could argue that he’d try to seek out any partnership he could get his hands on if he was truly actively gunning for allies to the point of being willing to overlook his grudge against tommy to scoop him up as soon as possible. but on the other hand, technoblade’s a highly paranoid character, so he might not want to Risk someone ratting him out to the enemy if he can’t trust them or if they aren’t as neutral as they seem to be.
so ! with all that in mind I think that it’s a valid take to argue that technoblade’s actions could’ve been considered abusive whether he realized it or not, but I also think that it’s a valid take to say that it might not’ve been the intention of the roleplayers at the time and that some of the details that can be used to come to the conclusion that technoblade was abusive were tinged by cc!techno’s humor and him not thinking through the implications of tommy’s current arc. both takes make sense within the context of what we’ve been presented, we just need to make the space for both within overall analysis.
#dream smp#technoblade#tommyinnit#technoblade critical#c!technoblade critical#meta#long post#don't neg me about not putting this in the main tag it will not stop me#every time someone pulls that I add the main character tag more confidently
