People knock on Rhoam for being a bad dad cuz he's distant and stern to little Zelda and say how Rauru is the goat (heh) for taking her in like his own daughter. Like Zelda had her real parental connection with Sonia and Rauru. But frankly that's a little reductive.

Rauru literally descended from the heavens, married a priest, started a kingdom. Man didn't really know much strife yet. There's no looming threat of calamity or prophecy yet. Things are peaceful. Things are fine. Things are great. Zelda dropped in during this time, talking about a doom that's going to happen tens of thousands of years in the future.

This sad, lost princess.

Of course any reasonable person would take her in and calm her and tell her she is fine and listen and support her.

Rhoam not being able to be this kind of figure for Zelda is tragic. Just read this poor man's journal entries:

"It has been a year and three months since her mother passed. Perhaps she is held back by heartache too deep to heal. If the Ganon prophecy wasn't looming over our heads, I would tell her to take her time... To wait until she is ready. But our situation is dire and leaves no room for weakness—even on behalf of my beloved daughter. My heart breaks for Zelda, but I must act as a king, not a father. I must order her to train relentlessly at the fountain." Pg 4.

"In truth, I understand Zelda's feelings. Painfully so. She lost her mother, her teacher, before she could learn from her. Ten pointless years of self-training, without so much as a book or note to help her find her way... Those in the castle talk behind her back. And I, her only family, scold her for her shortcomings. No wonder she wishes to hide away in her beloved relic research. I'd love nothing more than to console her... But I must stay strong. She MUST fulfill her duty, just as we all must. Even if she comes to despise me." Pg 6.

"I have been told my Zelda went to the Spring of Wisdom... This will likely be her last chance. If she is unable to awaken her power at Lanayru, all hope is truly lost. If she comes back without success, then I shall speak kindly with her. Scolding is pointless now. I forced 10 years of training on her... and after all that, it seems her power will stubbornly awaken some other way. Perhaps I should encourage her to keep researching her beloved relics. They may just lead her to answers I can't provide. For now, I sit anxiously, more a father than a king in this moment. I sit and await my daughter's return." Pg 7. (He fucking dies and never gives Zelda this bit of closure uuuugggghhhhhhh Zelda I'm so sorry Rhoam I'm so sorry)

It sucks because most people remember the cutscenes (duh it's more immersive and important) and in the cutscenes of the first game Rhoam was mostly shown as being stern and mean to babygirl Zelda, who is closed fists explaining herself to him at the verge of tears. And in contrast everyone in the first royal family of hyrule in the second game treated her with such kindness and we can see how happy she was being there with them.

Rhoam was shackled by duty. By prophecy. By the looming calamity. And from the day he named his daughter 'Zelda' he shackled her as well.

And what does Zelda do with these shackles? She accepts them. She tolerates them. Because she loves her father and her kingdom and knows there's a power dormant in her that can stop the calamity that she must do her best to unlock. She does this dutifully. She does all the training, she does everything that is required.

But it still doesn't unlock. So she tries other ways. She isn't just going after the 'relics' because she's scholarly and nerdy and wants to learn about them. She does it because she's pragmatic. She knows her sacred sealing power isn't present in her. She knows she might not be able to control it or even unlock it in time.

So she tries this alternative approach. The Divine Beasts, the guardians. Ancient tech that was used to prevent the calamity of their time. And she awakened the tech. And her father chose the champions for each divine beast. And they were all prepared. And it's all thanks to Zelda.

And then... Fucking tragedy again. Ganon probably learned his lesson from the last time he was thwarted and immediately went for the tech, corrupting it and turning it against the new users. Against Zelda.

It's never really stated how fast it all turned to shit when the tech betrayed them (or maybe I don't remember) but every account points to it being almost overnight. The champions died. Rhoam died. And suddenly, suddenly Zelda unlocks her sealing magic.

I always always hate the literary trope of using tragedy to unlock a great power that could've actually stopped the tragedy from happening in the first place.

And it's no different in BOTW. I hate that Zelda had to go through all this to unlock her powers.

And then what happens next?

She's stuck in limbo (in an almost mocking parallel to Rauru in the next game with his imprisoning arm) holding Ganon back. For a hundred years.

This young woman had gone through so much only to be trapped with a calamity seeking to destroy Hyrule for a century.

Does she know her father died in the war? Does she know the champions died in battle? Would she know Link would survive in the Shrine of Resurrection? Would she know how long it would all take? The century she would have to wait?

I think she didn't. I think it all happened too fast. I think ultimately, she decided a stalemate with ganon was an agreeable outcome. I think in her mind she probably thought she failed Hyrule. When the divine beasts turned she must have been distraught. Distraught might not even cover it tbh. But at least... At least when the kingdom was brought to it's knees by the corrupted tech and was waiting for the final blow, she had the ability to ensure the final blow never came.

And oh boy I have a looot more to talk about regarding Tears of the Kingdom. But I do want to have a couple of more playthroughs of it to really formulate what I want to say.

a/n: so, this is officially a new series! please keep in mind this will be my first time writing for all upcoming characters, respectful criticism and advice on how to write them is welcome! SPOILER ALERT!! reblogs and comments are appreciated, hope you enjoy!!

giving:

poor vi, her eldest daughter syndrome bleeds through every aspect of her life (relatable but we move on)

all jokes (are we joking though??) aside, i think vi would be hesitant to love quickly or even love at all

vi isn't someone who shows her love through words though, so i feel like if she really began to care and love you, she would show it though her actions

i feel like her main type of acts of service would be protecting you in some manner, whether it be verbally or physically

she's genuinely afraid of losing you, so the protective nature would be slightly overbearing in cases where she's on the edge, but other than that, it's pretty standard.

quality time is another big one for her, not just because it's also a way for her to trust you, but because she'd quite literally just want to get to know you better

i could see this being the case whether or not you live the same type of life (i.e: being a zaunite or not)

i feel like she's seen enough to know that regardless of what side you're on, experiences vary for everyone, and she'd just want to know yours and through that, open up to you

small side tangent, but she's TOUCHY.

once she's attached to you, so are her hands. they quite literally are always on you in some way, whether that be through subtle touches (i.e: letting her hand graze against your side when she walks past you, her hands lingering too long as she's holding you, etc.) or through much more obvious ones like an arm wrapped around your waist

receiving:

although she is a protecter by nature, this causes her to be very wary of people and not very trusting of just anyone

i feel like she wouldn't just prefer acts of service but she would need it in order for her to begin to trust you

acts of service, subconsciously or not, are vital to slowly letting down her walls and letting her become trust worthy of you, but once they're down, it's game over

we see in the show how she is once she trusts someone, she shakes off the shell she shows the world and just becomes herself.

i feel like she'd love someone who can't keep their hands off her (except in the obvious situations)

even lingering gazes would make this girl WEAK and she knows it, so just imagine what having your hands all over her does to her brain (short answer: she short circuits)

much like vander, i think a part of her craves words of affirmation because of how her past mistakes constantly haunt and consume her being

even though a part of her knows it isn't her fault things turned out the way it did, a part of her mind won't allow her to believe it

even if she never might truly believe or accept this fact, hearing you tell her good things about herself and praise her makes her head spin with this feeling she can't explain, but all she knows is that it's one she'd never let go

VANDER

giving:

vander to me is probably one of the more protective characters in the show and i think his love languages in terms of giving reflect that heavily

i personally think he'd adore quality time the most, being the man he is, he doesn't really get much time to himself outside of his kids and dealing with the Lanes

it doesn't really matter what kind of quality time to him either imo, i think he'd be most comfortable with just being in your presence, even if you two aren't saying anything

one of his favorites moments though, is seeing you with his kids

he adores seeing you with them, the sight warming his heart knowing the family he works so hard to keep together is happy

words of affirmation i can see being another huge one for him, he'd definitely let you know that you're doing good in whatever you may be doing or even just making it through each day

he'd often pull you aside to let you know though, wanting his words to only be for you and not the prying eyes of others (or the kids potentially listening in on you both)

i could see vander being into physical touch, but only very slightly if it's in public

if you were behind the bar with him, he'd ever so slightly graze the small of your back with his palm or subtly grab onto your waist as he cleaned off the bar

he's an asshole though (lovingly, of course) and would do this especially if you were talking to someone just to get a laugh out of it

he'd be extra careful with this though, as he knows that he constantly has eyes on him, ones that could be dangerous to you if he overdoes his affections

receiving:

i could see vander loving words of affirmation in return, he definitely needs to hear that he's doing a good job taking care of his kids (especially when he feels like they fuck up because of him)

i also can see him holding a lot of doubts about past decisions in all aspects, so just hearing you tell him that he's doing good and that everything will be alright grounds him more than anything

even just telling him that he's a good father, even with his faults and past mistakes will make him feel so much better, no doubt making him fall for you even more than he thought possible

he's the biggest sucker for physical touch too, especially really subtle ones just for the two of you

don't get him wrong, he loves big gestures of physical affection, but he's not alone with you often, making the subtle ones happen a lot more often

he definitely loves holding hands and interlocking fingers especially, the latter being the one you two do more often when around most people

but when the last drop is closed to outsiders and is usually just benzo, the kids, and yourselves, he's all over you

he'll mostly have you in his lap if you're not off with the kids, or just hugging you from behind

CAITLYN

this girl is a bit of a tough one for me i won't even lie, but she's very well meaning in most aspects

i feel like she'd be into quality time and gift giving honestly

hear me out though, living in piltover her whole life and only recently seeing for herself how the world is and how things can change in an instant makes me think she'd gravitate towards spending time with you in one way or another

it doesn't even have to be explicitly spending time together either, just the fact that you'd be near her would be enough, especially if you're close enough to where she could protect you if need be

her protective nature is one reason why time with you is so sacred to her, not only that she'd be able to cherish her time with you, but that she'd truly be able to appreciate life in it's entirety

the gift giving aspect simply stems from her being wealthy (well not really)

i just see her as someone who expresses herself and what she wants to say with actions, and those actions are gifts

doesn't matter what you like honestly, she'd get it somehow. luxurious clothes? boom, right there on your shared bed. foods or sweets? she somehow has the entire stock right in front of you with a small smile on her face

both of these, to me, just stem from her innate desire to make you happy

she wants to give her lover the world, and with all she's seen in such a short amount of time after being spoonfed certain things about the world, she wants to make sure you're happy with her for as long as you both live

receiving:

receiving is a slight improvement but honestly she screams physical touch and words of affirmation yearner

think about it, being as skilled as she is, she's probably gotten praise about it from everyone

from you, though? it's way different in her mind, especially if you actually talk about why you give her the praises you do

she's expected the praise by now, but to her, it'd feel different because with you, it didn't feel..obligatory or forced

it wouldn't feel like the stuffy, fake pleasantries she'd be used to being in such a high place of power all her life, but something much more sincere and loving

she'd crave it, even going so far as to push herself beyond her limits just to hear you praise and support her for doing so

physical touch to me is another big one for her, i could see touching being a huge factor for her simply because of the intimacy

she most likely has never had anyone as close to her as her lover, so the sheer intimacy with even the slightest of touches knowing that she will only allow this from you is mindblowing for her in the best ways possible

OK SO I got THOUGHTS of this movie but specially Wade's fight style because it's really similar to our current Deadpool's fighting style... so yeah I wanna yap about that hi

WELL FIRST OF wanna talk a lil about Victor, Logan and Wade's different styles... from a mortal's view point I am no expert on this just insane about these movies and I need to write my thoughts or i'll explode

Starting with Victor!! the ultimate kittycat girlypop

I love his kitty self I'm sorry ANYWAY EXAMPLES

OKAY SO VICTOR. Victor's style is obviously very animalistic but also stylized, he makes the fight a show for himself! He likes to hunt and he tries to always give chase or play around a bit before the kill, just like a cat playing with his food!

AND IF you pay attention to the start of the movie, this game he's got with his target isn't initially how he fought, he kinda developed it as the years went by and the eviler he got the more he played with his food. The first few wars he goes to he's fighting like a human soldier, then you can see him slip up some animal jumps and uses his claws more until at the end he's full on predator chasing his prey (just like when he captures Scott, my god I love that scene he's terryfing)

AND A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIM AND LOGAN (that I will also talk about later I guess) is that with this play thing Victor has going on it SHOWS that he THINKS about the stragety when fighting, he's aware of his surroundings and his target's strenghs and weaknesses, he's good at coming up with solutions on the spot (see his fight with John, he can predict where he's going to teleport and catch him) and how to give a good chase without losing WHILE LOGAN WELL, at least in this movie he seems very lost when fighting?? he mostly just launches at his target and attacks, if the target runs away he chases, very animalistic but in a feral-based on instincts way... prolly why he coulnt win agaisnt Victor at first, because he was being blinded by his rage while Victor was quite literally playing with him lmao

ANYWAY LOGAN our favorite traumatized babygirl

and boy does he suffer in this one aughh EXAMPLES

Now you must be wondering why did I put the bathroom scene, well I feel like it represents Logan's general situation pretty well! (and its silly let me be), hes confused destroying everything and just keeps making it worse every time he tries to fix it.

The thing about Logan in this movie is that he's honestly just- confused and angry from the moment he killed his father, he runs away over and over again from EVERYTHING and he's constantly being manipulated BY EVERYONE!! Poor man has no idea what to do with himself of who he can actually trust but damn he tries, his enviroment is contantly changing and he's trying his best to adapt but he does it in a messy way.

The way he fights and acts in general is animalistic, yes, but more of the "scared dog attacks" kind of way, he's always acting on his instinct that it's mostly led by anger. When he fights he just throws himself and tries to slash whatever he can, he runs he hides and then when he gets the chance to he attacks again.

He constantly has little to no control of the situtation WHICH IS SPECIALLY SEEN pre-adamantium where he keeps losing to Victor because unlike him- he has no plan, he's being manipulated and kept blind of everything ON PURPOUSE which obviouly puts him in a disadvantage so yeah.

AFTER he gets the adamantium you can see his skills strengen with his knowledge, the more he lears about his situation the more focused he is and his fighting it's cleaner, he still moslty just launches himself head first into fights BUT he's not running away, he's able to evaluate his situation and adapt (See his fight with Gambit, he looks at him when running away and then destroys the stair so Gambit can't run away OR with Deadpool where he decides to gain height as a way to create the space needed to evaluate his enemy?? that one might be a lil bit of a stretch tho)

WADE WILSON THE ULTIMATE CUTIE PRINCESS

let's ignore how dirty they did him ok...

OKAY SO SADLY- The bullet scene is pretty much the only scene where we see him fight and it's honestly not enough to tell how his normal style is BUT I WILL SAY his general style is fancy to look at and scarily effective (which is mostly seen with our current Wade but you can see a bit in origins deadpool) he makes a show for everyone to see, which is also his stragedy to make himself even better at combat! He uses a lot of fancy movements and acrobatics that help him AND takes his enemies off-guard, confusing them as where they should attack or what he's going to hit?? anyway-

Comparison time yippieee THIS IS WHAT THIS POST IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT LMAO

I did not get side tracked idk what you mean.... and now seeing it over and over I'm realizing not that noticeable.... so it's just not that much to talk about oops

LOOK AT THIS WADE, LOOK AT THE MOVEMENTS HE DOES WITH HIS LEGS!! HIS HANDS??? THIS MAN IS SHOWING OFF he's using all kinds of acrobatics and fancy movements while fighting, he attacks with his hands and dodges using mostly his legs, he's using all he has!! and it's making Logan lose BECAUSE LOGAN CAN'T FOCUS!! specially since he's so "target locked will attack", Wade makes it SO HARD for him to focus on a pose long enough to actually stab him also Logan ain't too good at dodging, I'm guessing it could be because he heals? dunno

now what inmediately came to my mind upon rewatch was THIS scene (maybe because I saw it recently who knows)

THE SETTING IS SO SIMILAR!! Wade is using a lot of fancy movements to get up, dodge and attack all way too fast for Logan to process, once again Logan is looking everywhere confused about where to aim bc this silly red guy it's dancing on his face and he's struggling to keep up JUST LIKE IN ORIGINS except well he IS able to get a hit bahah

Dodges like crazy, jumps over Logan (he did in origins too) just moves a lot between every attack

Actually now that I think about it Wade feels a bit less effective in the car, like yes sure he's putting up a good fight but Logan still feels like he's leading it BECAUSE WADE IS MORE EFFECTIVE WHEN HE HAS MORE SPACE!! he likes to be able to move around and do gimnastics while Logan it's a lot better the closer he gets to his target so omg yeah... ALSO LIKE WADE STILL TRIES TO MOVE AROUND he shoves Logan away from him, he gets out of the car choking logan with a seatbelt and gets to the back, he tries to create space because that's where his speciality WHILE LOGAN keeps trying to get closer to have him in his power, which he gets to do since the car isn't allowing Wade to move as freely as he would want to...

AND YOU CAN SEE HIS FANCY MOVEMENTS WITH FRANCIS TOO he's constantly circuling him, dodging and spinning while Francis is just trying to get a hit, Wade keeps his enemies chasing him when he fight THAT'S the way he controls it and gets it wherever he wants aughh

ANYWAY YEAH I think that's it, don't really know how much sense any of this does since I've been writing it on-and off the whole day lmao it's so messy but yeah feel free to add onto it I'd love to see opinions on this wahoo

Obviously tw for toxic relationship dynamic and so on, but it's really mostly fluff tbh

It's not the moment that he lays eyes on you, nor the first time he hears your lovely voice, that sparks his interest

It's later, after a few interactions, that he's left wondering why exactly do your eyes look like that in the sunlight, why can't he help thinking about the last words you said to him, and why on earth does he want to remember how your palms feel against his...

It's annoying, a stupid little weakness that's he's really hoping fizzles out with the rest of his long lost desires

It's even more annoying when it doesn't...

He wants to be around you, to see you happy and content... Wants to be the one that causes that

He tries to appease his little crush in subtle ways

Buying you gifts, taking you out, reluctantly opening up, all hoping for a reaction that would kill that desire, just any emotion that would convince him you weren't the perfect person he's built you up to be

After fully coming to terms with that, he'll try courting you casually, playing up his charm, his nonchalance

As if his emotionally distant performance can cover the fact that he's only getting more desperate

That he doesn't spend every waking second imagining you right beside him, all the pretty expressions you'd make and amusing remarks that'd pull a genuine smile from his lips

It's a coping mechanism, but a poor one in comparison with really have you there

Various pictures and paragraphs meticulously detailing where he is and what he's doing, in the hopes that you might choose to show up of your own accord

Silly little good morning or good night texts played off as a joke, as if he isn't anxiously awaiting confirmation that you're still happy and well

He's always been good at reading people, a skill of his trade really, so your emotions are like an open book

Anyone you want him to be, he'll play the part flawlessly

A rich flirty playboy? An impulsive and fearless gambler? Maybe a doting attentive lover? All of those are masks he will happily adorn

You'll know something's up when the gift giving starts to get a little heavy handed

Gorgeous expensive bouquets with his calling card, very pretty jewelry (most of which includes a familiar looking green gemstone), and really a variety of other small gifts that fit in line with interests you told him about in passing

He'll claim complete ignorance to the amount, stating he's only buying what reminds him of you (which is pretty much every little thing he sees—)

And "Oh don't worry, dear friend. Consider it a token of good will! Can't have you forgetting about me.~"

He'll make himself quite a nuisance if you don't eventually give in to his little games

Though his work schedule keeps him from actively stalking you, it's not uncommon for suspicious looking IPC personal to be seen whenever you're out in public

He's just paranoid, really, that's all it is...

He couldn't live with himself if his darling went and got themself hurt

When officially together, you're probably going to spend a lot of time with him...

He'll make his office more accommodating for you! You can decorate your space however you desire, nothing is too good for his love

It generally helps his morale to have you around at work too

He's not nearly as stressed and short tempered with his beautiful perfect love always at arms length, read to be scooped up and showered in affection when he needs a break

"Oh come onnnn... It'd be so boring without you. You wouldn't leave me all alone, right...?" He coos, gently pulling you by your waist closer to him with a needy grin, eyes shining slightly as he tilts his head, pressing a soft little kiss to your wrist before glancing up at your eyes.

It's enough of a difference that the IPC might actually start giving you a paycheck under the title of "emotional support employee" simply to avoid having to deal with him when you're not around

He'll make it up to you by taking you out to fancy lunches, and dinners... and occasional breakfasts—

There's actually a good handful of days that he simply refuses to come in because he woke up with you laying on him and would physically rather die than move

His jealousy issues are a little more pronounced now, too...

He's hates having to get violent, really, but he has absolutely no qualms with calling out and publicly humiliating anybody for staring to long or being passively rude

But if anybody is being outright aggressive towards you, it's a completely different story

Don't they know who you belong to? How easily he could ruin their entire livelihood with a single phone call?

His eyes will narrow, his smile getting a little wider as his grip on you tightens, memorizing the persons face as it drops in realization, oh what a thrill~

He'll be an obsessive possessive mess, but there are worse things than being the sole focus of an attentive and devoted man...

Ignoring how he'd rather suffocate than see you smile so genuinely at anyone else with those perfect lips he just adores, of course

Being hunted isn't for the weak. You've been on the run for the majority of your life, though it seems to only get more and more frequent as you age. You're a shapeshifter, whose bones, muscles and skin twist and stretch to transform, and it's why you've been looking over your shoulder all this time. 

You’re forced to flee when Officers from the Agency of Public Safety and Threat Containment (PSTC) came knocking on your door. They're who you've been running from all this time, the reason why you're alone...That is, till you end up in the town of Arden Grove and meet other shapeshifters like yourself. Do you trust them? Will they stay? Or will you end up alone once again?

Tell me more about yourself!

I’ve mentioned this a couple of times, but I’m a huge fan of the Spiderverse franchise, and I am in a lot of different fandoms. My favourite colour is red, which is really funny because the colour scheme of Under Our Skins is blue and grey, and I’m ethnically Chinese, which is actually why Elexis (one of the ROs) is Chinese. 

I am also pansexual and genderqueer, and there are elements of that that can be seen in my characters, especially Elexis and Seraph.

2. Can you tell me a bit about what you’re working on right now and your journey into interactive fiction? What inspired the game/story you’re currently writing?

I am currently working on a shapeshifter IF, aka Under Our Skins! I started with visual novels first, back in my 2024 exam season, and quickly got hooked. The first IF I ever played was Wayfarer and that led to many ranting sessions about it (my poor friends were stuck with me raving about how much I loved the game for days) and from there, I scoured itch.io for more games like that, which is how I stumbled across interactive fiction! For the next few months, it was just me falling in love with multiple interactive fictions before deciding I wanted to try my hand at writing one. 

What inspired Under Our Skins was just a car on Pinterest, and with a lot of time on my hands and a writer’s brain, I daydreamed a scene with my first character (and said car). I liked the scene so much that I then proceeded to think about how it’d make sense and what sort of a world it’d be set in and boom, I had the (rough) settings and systems of Under Our Skins.

3. How does your work feature aspects of your queer identity / experience? 

I think that my writing will be influenced by the things I experience and observe in real life no matter what, and though there aren’t direct correlations, there are parallels in the way shapeshifters are treated and the way they adapt to society with the way queer people adapt to “pass” and more. 

Not all of them are purposeful, but when writing about the oppression of shapeshifters, I do take “inspiration” from the oppression that queer people face. There’s also the fact that the way shapeshifters cope with it, whether hiding or just dampening it to be more “normal” (and the fact that there’s a “normal” at all, when so many of them are born shapeshifters) just reminds me of what queer people have to do irl. 

The whole IF is not meant to be a commentary on queer people but I’ve definitely taken inspiration or been influenced by queer experiences.

4. What does your writing process look like? Any rituals or habits? Any tips, tricks, philosophies or approaches that have worked very well for you? 

My writing process is a mess. Right now, I have a planning doc, a writing doc and a google sheet with many different sections split to help me juggle the work of writing everything while stimulating my brain enough to get to work on the IF. It’s honestly pretty scattered, but hey, if it ain’t broke, why fix it?

For the specifics however, it’s mostly just three phases that I constantly go back to. I use an outline to roughly plot out the chapter, which I then refer to when writing. Sometimes my writing veers off the path of my outline, sometimes parts of my outline doesn’t work with what I had written before, and I leave that to the editing part to polish everything up and just hope that it turns out alright. 

As for tips and tricks, there are two very important things that I try to keep in mind when writing: a. Your first draft is going to suck and b. Know what your other characters are doing and their motivations.

For the first, when writing, I often find myself hating whatever words I was typing – to me they all fall flat and miss their mark. This ends up with me hating writing and procrastinating continuing because if it sucks, why should I continue? But here’s the thing: it’s better that it exists and sucks, then to not exist at all. Your first draft is not supposed to be perfect, it’s job is to just exist, to pave a way for your next few drafts to improve on. If it doesn’t exist, there’s nothing to refine. So yeah, my first draft is going to suck, and I need to let it suck as long as I write it.

For the second, this just helps me more in the planning aspect. Knowing what the characters are doing helps me make sure that the timelines all line up, and to help me establish certain things even though the plot doesn’t require it just yet. It makes things feel real and more logical, and it can definitely come in handy when you cross-refer back to it.

5. How do you go about portraying queer characters, queer experiences, or queer storylines in your IF? 

I think the most important part for me is that the character’s queerness is a part of their identity, and is not their only, or most notable trait, while also acknowledging it and the way it has shaped their life.

With Under Our Skins, everyone is queer – 4 out of the 5 ROs are pansexual, one RO is trans and another is a lesbian. These are a part of their identity, and while sometimes it is just what it is, it has also impacted the way others treated them throughout their lives, and in the IF. 

I think the way I write – or will be writing, since the IF is still relatively new – is entirely linked to my queer experiences and the experiences I’ve observed. Parts of my characters I take from my own experience, others from my friends and people online, and there are also parts where I have to take creative liberties almost, like writing accepting parents and homo/transphobia.

7. If you were to say one thing to your readers, other authors, and/or the interactive fiction community: what would it be? 

To my readers, I’d say thank you <33 They’ve been so kind to me and the love that they’ve shown for the IF and characters is honestly so heartwarming and motivating!!

To other authors, y’all are honestly amazing and I hope that your projects work out and that you have nice lives (that sounds like a threat, help). I love so many of your works and it’s honestly an honor (?) to be an interactive fiction author when these are the people I’m standing with.

To the community, please, please be kind. Your comments, whether anonymous or not, are all directed to a person behind the screen – a person who is usually juggling their writing project alongside many, many irl responsibilities. There was a weird influx of hate recently and now that it’s mostly died down (that I’m aware of, anyway), let’s try to make it stay that way. Constructive criticism can be helpful but sending straight up hate is not and can oftentimes undermine an author’s motivation so, yeah, be kind.

I heard from someone that Azul is actually very strong although he's not very athletic because he's an octo merman he's mostly muscle they said that Floyd has talked about it in bean fest I wanted to know if Azul being insanely strong was just a headcannon or cannon cause its kinda funny to me azul could carry professor vargas that one event on his own when prof vargas is pure muscle

Yes yes! The first information we receive about Azul being stronger than he looks is from Floyd during Beanfest, who explains,

"Who said anything about Azul bein' weak without his magic? He's real strong. He's slow on land and in water, and he's got lousy athletic reflexes, but that doesn't mean he's weak."

"Azul's bigger than me in the water, and he's got eight huge, heavy limbs. His submission holds are bad news, and he's got crazy grip strength. If he so much as snags you, he can snare you with your arms pinned.

Octopi are, like, all muscle. Seems to me like that wouldn't go poof just 'cause he took a potion to turn himself human.

I'm just spitballin' here, obviously. But all I'm saying is that writing Azul off is a bad idea."

(All of the above dialogue is 100% accurate to the original game! Floyd's "I'm just spitballin' here" line might make it seems like he is just guessing and doesn't actually know, but his original line is closer to, "I don't know all the details," and sounds more like he knows this information is fact, he just can't give a physiology lesson on how it all works.)

But Floyd's information is a little vague: he says Azul has "crazy grip strength" and his "submission holds are bad news," but that is the same line where he talks about Azul in his merform--so is he talking about mer-Azul or human-Azul? Or is he not making a distinction because there isn't one?

Can Azul snare people and pin them down on land, or was Floyd half-relating an anecdote from when they lived underwater?

But then came Book 6 and a line from Azul himself saying that his "arms are quite powerful," unlike Riddle's.

This seems to confirm that Azul is physically stronger than most people, but then comes the thunder spear:

Riddle asks for help lifting it and Azul struggles under its weight, despite how this would have been the ideal opportunity to illustrate how physically capable Azul really is.

But maybe the thunder spears are a tall order for anyone to lift? They're weapons from the age of the gods--maybe they just weren't designed for humans (or creatures in human form) to lift on their own?

Except:

There is Leona, who both lifts and wields the thunder spear entirely on his own, twice (he gets help from Jamil the third time).

But the rules of the thunder spears are unclear: after Team-OctaHearts' spear goes into energy-saving mode Riddle says, "I should be able to handle it now on my own," insinuating that when they are not in attack-mode they are easier to wield.

Azul carries it at first but, due to his infamously poor stamina, he does eventually give it up to Riddle.

When Azul comments on how easy RIddle makes carrying the spear look Riddle explains, "I spend most of my time learning magic. I have ever since I was born," insinuating that he is using a form of magic (perhaps levitation) to carry it and maybe does not have it physically in his arms at all.

(Vil explains that the spears are difficult to control in attack-mode due to the amount of energy they give off.)

And that asks questions about levitation that I have always wondered about!

During Glorious Masquerade Epel is only capable of carrying one crate of apples at a time.

When Malleus levitates an entire apple truck Epel comments, "I'm pretty sure only Malleus could pull off a feat like that…"

Are levitation and physical strength connected? Malleus says that he is physically stronger than humans even without his magic, so he does not serve as a good example.

Is Epel only capable of levitating one crate of apples because that is the limit of what he would be able to accomplish physically? Or do his magical limitations mirror his physical limitations by coincidence?

We know that Leona is extremely powerful (re: Leona's Power). Is Leona both physically stronger than an octopus mermaid and magically stronger than Azul, or is Azul physically stronger than Leona, but his magic wasn't enough for the spear?

And then there is the fact that Azul is, magically, extremely strong:

Jade comments that Azul's unique magic is too strong for even him to control (which is why he designed the golden contracts--to artificially rein himself in). Does that apply to all of Azul's magic, or is it just his UM?

Someone with the muscle of an octopus and a magic too strong to be wielded by its own user seems like they should be able to control a thunder spear on their own--but maybe Leona is just that strong? 🦁

To the original question:

Yes! It is canon that Floyd has said that Azul is insanely strong, and Azul himself has repeated it, but--

In a vignette we have Azul volunteering to carry a load of wood for Kalim. He pretends to be struggling under the weight in order to leave a lasting impression of his efforts, but as we cannot tell how much wood there is that he is hauling it can be difficult to tell how heavy it truly is--but then there is Vargas👀

At Trey's request, Jade and Azul are assigned the task of evacuating a bound Grim and Vargas from the mine. Jade takes Grim and runs away, leaving Azul behind alone with the prefect to handle Vargas--did he know that Azul would not struggle with carrying him?💪

Azul does ask for the prefect's help, but only because he is worried about bumping Vargas' head against the rocks--he does not say anything about struggling to carry him!

And this sounds very similar to a comment from Malleus on carrying Idia and Azul through the narrow stairwells of the bell tower during Glorious Masquerade! 🐉🐙

Oh no, the dastardly No-Good Gang has ambushed crowd-favourite wrestler Joe Punchfist while he was promoting his upcoming charity match. He's outnumbered and getting pummeled in the middle of the ring while the officials look on helplessly. Will Joe be able to wrestle his match at next week's Renaissance Slayre pay-per-view, or will those poor orphans end up on the street? But wait! The crowd goes wild as a song starts playing and running out of the locker-room area comes…

Okay so before our valiant wrestler can run into the ring to save Joe's hide, we must create them. And we'll be using the WWF Basic Adventure Game for that!

The game assumes you'll be creating several wrestlers plus a couple managers and even a referee or announcer for each player, but we'll just be making one wrestler. This post is really long so click to see the rest of it!

First we pick a sex for our wrestler (this game was made in the early 90s so you'll excuse it if the terminology isn't up to 2025 standards). We'll be making a girl. For a name I just go to a random generator and get Weronika Sandström. She started wrestling out of high school so for random age we roll 1d10+17, getting an 18.

Then we determine our weight class. We could just pick, but that's not how we do it down in the Vixen's dungeon, so a random roll it is! A d% roll of 63 lands us in the lightweight division (sidebar: because this game is based on WWF in the early 90s, you can't actually make someone like Rey Mysterio in the game, because according to the designer's research there were no male wrestlers in the super lightweight category). Then we roll another d%. A 67 tells us that our weight is 225+1d6 pounds, 231 in our case. This gives us some game stats. Our maximum for the Aerial Tactics attribute is 90, and we get a +5 to whatever number we later generate for it. We have a -5 modifier for lift, meaning that our opponents need to roll 5 less than normal to lift us. Our maximum stamina is 90.

Next are our attributes. There's three ways to generate them: rolling random numbers and then assigning them as we see fit, using points to purchase them, or rolling them in order. And you know how we do it in the dungeon! For Brute Strength (STR) we roll a d6 on a chart and get a 6, which means a 50. Technical Ability (TEC) is 35, Brawling (BRA) is 45, Martial Arts (MAR) is 45, Aerial Tactics (AGI which is short for Agility rather than Aerial Tactics) is 30+5 for 35, Perception (PER) is 45, Stamina (STA) is 45, Business Skill (BUS) is 30, and Constitution (CON) is 45. Our lightweight girl is more of a powerhouse than you might expect!

Then we get to Advantages, which are miscellaneous qualities our wrestler might have, at the cost of lowering our basic attributes. And would you look at that, there's an option to roll them randomly! We get to roll twice and get 98 (Resistance to Attack) and 70 (Winning Appearence). We have to lower four attributes by 5 for the first one, and two of them for the second one. I choose to lower my TEC, BRA, AGI, and BUS, and then BRA and AGI again (I couldn't have lowered the same attribute twice to pay for the same advantage so I had to do them separately like that). This character is kinda starting to resemble the one I made in AEW Fight Forever, who is built entirely around kicking, although she is a heavyweight. For Winning Appearence I choose to be good-looking, and the neat thing about this advantage is that even if I had chosen to be ugly, the effect would be exactly the same and depend on whether the wrestler is good or bad. It says something about how our physical qualities are perceived depending on how our nature is perceived. For Ressitance to Attack I pick Martial Arts, which will halve the amount of stun those kinds of attacks deal against our wrestler. Your kung-fu is weak!

There's also disadvantages, so we get to roll some more, yippee! 50 and 45 would give us the same one so we re-roll one of them and get 39. We have Title Lust and Personal Vendetta. A second roll (69, nice~) means our lust is for the Intercontinental Title, meaning we can't wrestle for the World Title or the Tag Team Title. For Personal Vendetta I'll pick some bad character to feud with, probably someone from the No-Good Gang! We get to raise two and one attributes, respectively. I pick STR twice and STA once.

Now our attributes stand at STR 60 (the maximum for a starting character), TEC 35, BRA 35, MAR 45, AGI 25 (the minimum), PER 45, STA 50, BUS 25, and CON 45. We can now determine our secondary attributes. Our Power Bonus (PB) is the number of extra stun points we inflict, in our case 3/2/1/0 (I'll explain the slashes later). Our Stun Points (STN) are determined by cross-referencing some charts based on our STA and CON, which ends up giving us 200/140/92/46.

Next we determine our build. I want our girl to be of the Large variety (with some curves), so cross-reference a chart and find that at 231 lbs. our wrestler is 5' 8". Then we choose handedness. I try to roll for ambidexterity but fail, so I make her a righty like myself. As my finishing move I pick Bearhug, because isn't it nice to just cuddle your opponent into submission? Based on our AGI, our Movement (MOV) is 2/2/2/1. Based on CON, our Recovery (REC) is 4/4/3/3. Our Fan Support starts at 0, but our good looks will help in raising it! Finally we multiply our BUS by 5 for 125, giving us $125 because it's that kind of game. I'll buy a bandanna, some jeans (cut into jorts), a tank top, kneepads, and a sweat shirt, leaving us with $4. Hopefully we can make some money so we don't have to wrestle barefoot anymore!

So what's with the slashes? To illustrate, here's our final lineup of attributes.

As you can probably tell, this is a very silly game. And that's what makes it great.

Mafia! BTS - What They'd Be Like with a Y/N who Is Successful

A/N: I got a request a while ago about Y/N standing up for herself like in a public space if someone bumped into her or sth even though she's always really compassionate, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about the Y/N I usually write. I'm also taking a course in feminist literature and it's making me rethink everything I know about life and society btw.

Obviously this is all fiction and a safe space in any case, whatever our desires and fantasies may be, but I just wanted to put it out there that I could do some requests where Y/N is just as strong and successful (even for prompts I already did). I think it'd be interesting to see how the members' dynamics would change. If not, I've got plenty to work on :) still, let me know what you'd prefer!

Disclaimer: Regardless of whether Y/N is confident or shy or financially successful or poor, the level of her compassion, autonomy and self-determination is unquestionable. There's power in allowing others to take control as well as having the control yourself; neither represents a weakness in the character.

Jin

I think Jin would have such a hard time when you wouldn't let him pay just like you would feel when he insisted on paying. Other than that he would be immensely proud of your success (for some reason I see Jin with someone who is in law, an attorney or a court interpreter) and how hard-working you are. Although it was hard for him to get you to relax around him as you always keep everything under control, it just made Jin appreciate it even more - that out of all people, he is the one who can make you let your guard down.

Namjoon

Needless to say, Namjoon worships you. He never thought he would meet his match but then you came along with your brilliant mind and swept him off his feet. Although you make your own money, he doesn't want you paying for anything. He loves taking care of you. You didn't let him in the beginning but accepting a gift or a beautiful dinner from Namjoon soon made you realize you weren't surrendering any of your hard-earned power. Namjoon respects your work and your desire to build your own career independent of his power and connections. Besides, there's nothing that turns him on more than seeing you on top of your game.

Yoongi

You would definitely meet through some work-related thing and seeing you take care of business would strike a cord in his heart. Much to his surprise you agreed to go out with him the first time he asked you but he soon realized you weren't settling for mediocrity and are perfectly comfortable in your own company. Getting to know you only drew Yoongi closer and although he always gave you space, whether that meant you paying for the date or driving, Yoongi always had your back.

Hoseok

A part of Hoseok might feel threatened by your business at first, not because he wouldn't wish you success but because he would feel insecure in what he could offer you. He had always taken care of his partners financially before and you were the first who didn't want (or need) it. Still, you're so clever and witty that Hoseok couldn't help but fall for you and it changed his attitude completely. When you began to let your guard down, he truly realized you trusted him with your worries and problems and that was the real way he could take care of you.

Jimin

Jimin loves it. He loves your confidence, your independence and admires your success although he also loves when you let down your guard and allow him to take care of you for once. Jimin likes it when you talk to him about work, even if it's just complaining about a lazy employee. He feels like he is a part of your world that way. You don't mind receiving presents and going on luxurious dates that Jimin pays for because he is so reassuring about you having power and money of your own. He doesn't think about it when you pay for a vacation; money isn't on his mind like that.

Taehyung

Taehyung is a lot like Jimin. His confidence knows no limit when it comes to celebrating your success. He doesn't feel threatened in the least although he is almost always the one to pay, be it a nice dinner, a flight to a luxurious resort or an extravagant accessory. When he does it, Taehyung isn't thinking about the money at all because he has more than enough of it and so do you. He is very transparent about his feelings for you and his attitude towards your career.

Jungkook

Out of all of the members, Jungkook would have the hardest time accepting how self-sufficient and hyper-independent you are. He likes to take care of his partner, not just physically but financially. It is not so much about control rather than Jungkook needing the feeling that he has a purpose. He is always thinking about how to make your life easier without compromising your sense of self. You worked hard to achieve the success you had and Jungkook respected every aspect of it. There was a lot of compromise needed from both of you to achieve a level of comfort of intimacy where neither of you felt threatened. But once you overcame that barrier, nothing could come between the two of you.

It sounds innocent enough on paper, and you can’t help but revel in the attention everyone keeps showering you with. But what happens when their feelings give way to something more sinister?

You hate having to pick sides.  

Over the years, the relationship between Katsuki and Izuku has gradually become more strained. The three of you are childhood friends, so of course, you hoped that things would get better after a while. That Katsuki would grow out of his callous phase and rekindle his friendship with the freckled boy who’d always looked up to him. 

Sadly, that didn’t happen.  

Instead, the animosity between them only deepened. Now, as middle schoolers, you are at the point where Izuku can hardly get two words out before cowering in front of Katsuki out of fear. You aren't children anymore. This can't simply be written off as ‘kids being kids’. It's bullying, and you are the one who sees firsthand the effect it has on poor Izuku.  

Although you've all naturally matured over the past ten years or so, Izuku is still heavily dependent on you, and unfortunately, you don't realize just how serious of an issue this is. You feel like its only natural for your best friend to care for you and rely on you. It feels natural to defend him, and it also feels natural to make compromises every now and then in the interest of keeping him happy.

Izuku doesn't even realize it himself, but he is manipulating you into doing whatever he wants. If he's ever upset about something and needs you to stay by his side, he'll drop not-so subtle hints about how he's feeling.  

“Aw,” he sighs on one occasion, head drooping disappointedly. “Are you sure you can’t come over today?”  

You offer him a weak smile. “Sorry, Izuku. I still haven’t finished the project that’s due tomorrow. My group members are expecting me to turn my part in soon, so I’ll have to work through the night to finish on time.”  

“Alright. I understand. I just really wanted us to hang out tonight. But I guess it can’t be helped... I’ll just be alone, since you’re my only friend.”  

You feel incredibly guilty, but there's really no way around it. School is essential, after all. You can't very well just drop all your assignments and other responsibilities as you see fit. Your parents still expect you to put in a good effort and take your education seriously.  

Needless to say, sometime later that same night, Izuku calls you while choking back tears. 

“[N-Name],” he whimpers. “Kacchan and his friends prank-called me again. He said some really awful things... and I-I know I shouldn’t let it get to me, but I just can’t calm down. Please, is there no way for you to come over tonight? I just don’t want to be alone right now...” 

How can you call yourself his friend if you abandon him after hearing that choked-up, gut-wrenching voice of his?

So, you rush straight over to his house, even though you haven't yet finished up your portion of the project. You spend the better part of the night calming him down and watching funny videos together in the hopes of cheering him up. By the time you finally make it back home, it's almost the crack of dawn, and you are absolutely and utterly fucked.  

“What the hell, [Name]?” one of your group members for the project grimaces. “You totally screwed us over. The rest of us all worked our butts off and pulled an all-nighter to finish in time. Why couldn’t you just carry your weight?”  

You give them a weary look of remorse, having run out of time. Your chunk of the project isn't entirely complete, and your group members don't hesitate to run straight up to the teacher and whine about how you didn't take the project seriously. Naturally, he penalizes you for your lack of effort, and you end up needing to do a make-up assignment to earn back some of the marks you’d lost.

Izuku is visibly torn up about it. “I’m so sorry,” he gasps. “This is all my fault. All because I couldn’t suck it up and deal with my problems on my own. Please don’t hate me, [Name]. I promise I won’t bother you next time. Just please don’t hate me.”  

“It’s not your fault,” you reassure, wrapping your arms around him. “I didn’t manage my time properly, and there were other people in my group that were counting on me. If I’d been more organized from the start, this wouldn’t have happened. Don’t apologize, Izuku. You know I’ll always be there for you whenever you need me.”  

You're a good person—or at the very least, trying to be—and so you don't realize that every time you keep giving into Izuku’s whims, you are perpetuating the toxic relationship that has already begun to form.  

Self-sacrifice is the essence of a hero, and while it can be argued that you're just acting out the role you decided on, with certain people, it's still important to set boundaries.  

Especially when there are some truly dark emotions at play.  

Your Quirk is much more powerful than you even realize. It not only charms people and makes them momentarily blinded by their affection for you, but there are lasting effects, even outside your Quirk’s usage. People that already feel rather strongly about you—such as Izuku—find that their emotions have been amplified a hundredfold. It brings out jealousy, possessiveness, and other concerning traits in people, ones that normally wouldn’t have existed.  

Your Quirk is a ticking time bomb, and you are none the wiser to it.  

The only thing you do know is that it's a hell of a hassle to get used to. In the many years since it first manifested, you’ve been presented with various missions, completely at random. It's frustrating because the system seems to dictate when or how you get to hone your strength. You don't have much free reign over it, which you suppose is one of its main drawbacks. Virtually all Quirks have some weakness; some factor that either makes them difficult to wield, or briefly hinder their user.  

Still, you are diligent in your efforts. You make sure to complete every mission, so long as it's actually possible. Some of them involve charming people, but others are different challenges altogether. There were a few missions that went unfinished, of course. On one instance, you were required to run the length of a marathon, and it was a time-based mission, meaning that it needed to be completed within the same day it was issued. You had attempted it, but unfortunately, couldn’t manage to see it through till the end.

You have gotten stronger, though. There's progress, little by little, and you're relieved that your Quirk also allows you to improve your physical parameters. It's a bit frustrating to make sense of, and even now you still haven't totally figured it out, but it's still better than nothing. If applied correctly, you'll be able to save a lot of people with this Quirk.  

Right? 

“Alright, kids,” your teacher announces. “I was going to distribute these papers for you fill out your desired career paths, but then I realized... you’re all aiming to become heroes, aren’t you?”  

It's a day like any other, and you're currently in class. Of course, you don't yet know that this day is actually incredibly special. It will become a pivotal moment in not only Izuku’s life, but yours as well.  

“Come on, sensei,” Katsuki chuckles arrogantly. “Don’t lump me in with the rest of these shitty extras. They can’t ever hope to get on my level. They’ve all got weak-ass Quirks, through and through.”  

So far, it really is just an ordinary day. By now, you are no stranger to Katsuki’s open displays of egocentrism. Your classmates all know that he's incredibly full of himself, but you know it even better than them, especially after having grown up in the same neighborhood. You know him on a personal level. You're more than aware of what he is truly capable of, and more often than not, it results in Izuku crying. 

Even so, a part of you still yearns for those days in the past, when everything was happy and carefree. There's no doubt that he's a bully, but you want to believe that deep down, he's still the same boy who welcomed you to the neighborhood with an infectious grin and an admirable personality. 

That's why, no matter how far he falls from grace, you still can't bring yourself to resent him. 

You watch attentively as Katsuki proceeds to go on and on about how much better he is  than everyone else, and how he will one day surpass All Might and make history. Perhaps if anyone else was saying such things, it would sound like total nonsense, but Katsuki is strong. With his Quirk and ambition, you have no doubt that he'll keep pushing for the very top.  

For the time being, he's aiming for U.A, the most prestigious hero school in Japan—in the whole world, even, because it's All Might’s alma mater.  

It's the same school that Izuku has always dreamed of attending, and Katsuki loathes hearing about it.  

“Piece of shit Deku,” Katsuki growls, sparking an explosion that knocks Izuku all the way back from his desk. “Are you fucking braindead, or what? You’re a Quirkless loser! In what world can you possibly imagine putting yourself in the same arena as me? Well? Explain it to me, asshole!”  

Your gaze flickers tiredly towards the floor. Yeah. It really is like any other day. Time and time again, Izuku is ridiculed. Not only by Katsuki, but the rest of your classmates as well. Katsuki is a bully, no doubt about it, but the others are no better. Pretty much everyone you’ve ever met looks down on those who are Quirkless, and it makes you angrier than you can even put into words.

Everyone laughs and sneers at Izuku while he's backed against a wall, with tears brimming in his eyes. You can't possibly stand watching any longer, so you stand up and open your arms up to him. For just a moment, it looks like he's hesitating. As if he doesn't want to seek out the comfort of your embrace and prefers to shoulder everything on his own. 

But in the end, he gives in, just like always.  

You hug him tightly, casting a glare towards the rest of the class. “You’re all a bunch of losers. What’s so fun about ganging up on someone? If he wants to apply to U.A, it’s none of your business. Please just cut it out.”  

“Great, [Name] to the rescue,” one of them sighs.  

“She’s always fussing over him. It’s like she’s his mom or something.”  

“Nah, she’s not his mom. She’s his girlfriend, duh. They’re always making googly-eyes at each other. I swear they would both die if they were ever separated.”  

It looks like you've also become the target of their ridicule, but that's nothing new either. For the most part, you avoid using your Quirk on your classmates. It's a lot easier to practice with a close friend, like Izuku, and they're all quite wary of you anyways. They know that you have to kiss someone to use your powers, so they've long dubbed you as some kind of pervert. If you wanted to, you probably could charm them and make them act less awful, but controlling people for your own benefit feels really slimy. Apart from missions, you decide that your Quirk should be reserved for villains that needed to be put in their place, or dangerous situations, like whenever Katsuki gets violent with Izuku.  

“S-Stop that,” Izuku works up the nerve to cut back, but he's still clinging to you, unwilling to let go. “Don’t make fun of [Name]… she hasn’t done anything wrong.” 

You roll your eyes. “Ignore them, Izuku. They’re just butthurt because they don’t know what it’s like to have real friends.”  

The whole time you hold Izuku in your arms, Katsuki has gone awfully quiet. He isn't creating explosions anymore. He just stands there, crimson eyes perfectly fixated on you. His mind is reeling with furious, unspeakable thoughts.  

Whenever Katsuki is so angry that he goes silent, it's never a good sign.  

The situation escalates to the point that once classes are over for the day, Katsuki makes a show of walking over to Izuku’s desk and blowing up one of his hero analysis notebooks.  

“You’ve really been pissing me off these days,” he spits, and much to Izuku’s horror, proceeds to toss the notebook out the window. 

“Katsuki!” you fume. “What the hell are you doing?! Go out there and bring it back!”  

“Shut up. You’ve been pissing me off too.” He steps closer to you and grabs you by the collar of your uniform. The fabric squeezes painfully around your neck, cutting off some of your circulation. “You and Deku both make me sick,” he grimaces. “Always walking around holding hands and shit. Are the two of you already married, or what? You’re so pathetic. When I first met you, I never thought you’d turn out to be this pathetic, [Name].” 

You furrow your brows and push him back. “Stop it,” you warn.   

“Or what?” he challenges. “What, you’ll kiss me? Go ahead and try it. Don’t think I’ll fall for your brainwashing any longer. I’m strong enough to resist your shitty Quirk. Come on, then. Try it. I dare you.” 

It seems like he's challenging you, and you don't know what'll happen once you actually call his bluff. Perhaps you'll be able to act quickly enough to actually charm him, or maybe he’ll beat you up for even trying. You just assume that whatever the case, he's going to make you pay.  

But in reality, Katsuki just wants to feel your lips against his skin. He's mortified by his thoughts, and he'll never admit to them—not even if he's held at gunpoint—but he truly and undeniably wants you to kiss him.  

The fact of the matter is that he doesn't hate you. He’s never hated you. What he really hates is the way you treat Izuku so much better than him. It doesn't make any sense, and there are moments where it actually pisses him off more than Izuku himself.  

He's better than Izuku, or rather, Deku, in every sense of the word. So then, why? Why do you coddle Izuku and embrace him at almost every waking moment? Why is it that it's been so long since he's seen you direct a smile his way, yet you show it to Izuku more times than he can even count?  

Katsuki has long harbored a crush on you. He is a jealous person by nature, and the influence of your Quirk certainly doesn't help. In fact, it can no longer simply be called a crush.  

It's already an infatuation.

“Give it a rest,” you eventually sigh, deciding not to give in to his provocations. “I’m not going to use my Quirk on you, Katsuki. Just stop it. Please go get Izuku’s notebook back. It’s the least you can do after ruining it.”  

Katsuki is incredibly angry. He's so angry, in fact, that he yearns to just yank you by the hair and slam his lips against yours. Better yet, he wants to make Izuku watch. It's the number one thing he fantasizes about. The day that shitty nerd is forced to watch you be torn away from his grasp is the day that Katsuki wins once and for all.  

But because he hasn't yet lost all reason, he doesn't force a kiss on you.  

Instead, he turns around and punches Izuku in the face.  

You wail out at the top of your lungs, and to be honest, it's practically music to Katsuki’s ears. He laughs cruelly as Izuku desperately tries to stifle his sobs, hands flying up to clutch at his throbbing nose, which has already started to bleed.  

“Why?” is all you could think to say. You stare at Katsuki in utter disbelief. “I really thought... you were better than this. I wanted to believe you were. But it’s like you’ve turned into a fucking monster.”  

Katsuki grits his teeth. A monster, huh? So, that’s what you think of him. Fine. If being a monster is what it takes to punish Izuku for constantly stealing you away, then he's more than happy to be a monster.  

“That was a warning,” Katsuki glowers. “Don’t even think of going to U.A, shitty nerd. I’ll seriously kill you. Actually, why don’t you go ahead and jump off the roof while you’re at it? If you’re lucky, there might be a Quirk waiting for you in the afterlife. Ha.”

Katsuki buries his hands in his pockets and trudges out of the room, and even the two underlings that always follow him around look slightly horrified by what just unfolded.  

You are left alone with Izuku, and the most you can do is frantically dab at his bloody nose with a napkin. 

“Izuku,” you whimper. “I’m sorry. I should have acted quicker. M-Maybe if I’d actually used my Quirk, he wouldn’t have hurt you like that. This only happened because of me. I’m so sorry...”  

Izuku has every reason to be upset. One of his treasured notebooks is now in tatters, he's just been told to kill himself, and worse yet, his face is aching uncontrollably. Tears slide down his freckled cheeks, and you can hear how shaky his breathing sounds. 

But despite all of that, the situation isn't entirely bleak. 

Because you are with him. 

His big green eyes, even while blurred by tears, are wide as they gaze upon you. He admires how your chin trembles ever-so-slightly, and that little crease in your brow that conveys how worried you are. He especially likes the the way that your chest jumps up and down as you desperately try to keep it together for him. 

You are so important to him. His best friend in the whole wide world. The only person who’s always stood by his side. And just earlier, you chose him over Katsuki. For so long, Katsuki has always had everything Izuku dreamed of. A powerful Quirk, amazing confidence, and the ability to push through any obstacle that stands in his path.  

But Katsuki doesn't have you, and in that sense, Izuku has him beat.  

That's why, even with the blood dripping from his nose and the sharp pain in his heart, Izuku is still able to smile.  

“I’m okay,” he says, tentatively grabbing one of your hands in his. Your fingers are so soft. He loves the way they fit so naturally against his own.  

Everything hurts, but... with you here, it hurts a lot less.

“As long as you’re with me, I’ll be alright,” Izuku beams.  

In a way, it's somewhat of a threat. Because if you ever leave him, that is the moment everything will fall apart.

if he sees another guy with you, he doesn't rage immediately but when he sees them holding you in a way how he does? that's when he slides between you guys and takes you back

but also sometimes when you're about to go out in revealing clothes, he gets all pouty and clingy

he doesn't let go of you and looks up you with such pleading eyes(im so weak. im so weak for him omg)

guys he ALWAYS goes to pick you up himself

most likely he's going to bed by the time youre done, he can spare a couple minutes getting you

and plus i know he may not act like it, but your safety is like one of his top priorities

especially since you're the partner of a famous streamer, he does his best to make you comfortable

whether that's having you sit out of frame when he's on stream, or keeping you hidden

the media's really mean, and he'd do anything to prevent you from seeing or witnessing something hurtful just because you're dating him

he takes all the necessary precautions he knows of, and always tries to keep your identity anonymous

but when you felt comfortable enough, you slowly started to creep into his streams

at first it would just be a hand popping into frame, to you literally napping on his lap while he streamed

he told his fans that he was taken before and they thought he was lying, but since they've seen you they're amazed that he actually pulled

overall, his audience loves you and they literally see how kenma lights up when he looks at you

like his eyes are so soft and glassy and hazed with love(im gonna cry. why isn't he real. please i want him so bad)

Hoho, you have fallen for my trap card, because I am going to list out dialogue for ALL the possible answers that I didn't do in the recent comic! You will be subjected to long answers because I have not written in a WHILE.

But first, OW, no yeah, I think Loop would answer with what you mentioned, though maybe they would be vague about it, because I don't think Loop would know what Isabeau wished for since in-game Siffrin only finds out at the end of Act 5. It would be a very fine line between wanting to make Siffrin feel bad about himself but also a bit of self-deprecation.

"The Universe?"

Loop (LOL3): That's kind of a cop-out answer, isn't it? The Universe leads, and we can only follow, so obviously they had their hand in sending me here!
