alright I need to yap about more SMATLL analysis I've been thinking about and I gotta get my brain juices flowing cause I'm done school for the summer

OK so I've Yapped before how in this fic Style is a lot like Percebeth and I made a whole ass tiktok talking about how Stan is similar to Percy and I've talked about how Butters has similarities to Luke.

but this time I wanted to focus on Kenny, cause He isn't as one-to-one as some characters (eg Stan to Percy, Kyle to Annabeth, Butters to Luke or Craig to Clarisse)

so for Kenny there are four characters from the original Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series that I see elements from.

I'll go one by one with when I noticed these similarities:

1st: Luke Castellan while Butters may have loads more similarities to Luke you can't deny that Kenny also has HUGE Luke Parallels. because Kenny is the first other demigod Stan meets and forms some sorta connection with (like Percy and Luke in TLT), how he's the demigod that shows Stan around camp and introduces loads of the gods stuff to him, just like Luke.

2nd: Grover Underwood a lot like how his similarities to Luke are due to him being the first DEMIGOD he (Stan) forms connection with, he's also the first other person as a WHOLE we see Stan form a connection with. a lot like how Grover was Percy's first friend. (not fully the same but shut up) I also see this parallel due to Kenny being the third demigod on Stan's Quest, so it would make sense that if Stan was a Percy Parallel, and Kyle was an Annabeth parallel Kenny would be Grover.

3rd: Nico DiAngelo ok its not JUST cause in this AU he's a Hades kid (tho that IS a factor) or the dead sister/siblings/mother. but it's also the level of outsider that Kenny has in this fic. the rest of the camp is weary of him, like how in HOO the rest of the seven (Minus Hazel cause) are weary of Nico. Kenny feels like an outsider being the only big 3 kid at camp, while Nico feels like an outsider cause after Bianca dies (and before Hazel comes back from the underworld) he is the only child of Hades at CHB, while yes they ARE very different the biggest reason is how Nico embraces his powers basically and has been using them since he was 10 in Titans Curse to when we see him most recently in TSATS while Kenny DOESN'T like using his powers (which will be brought up in the next part of the post) they DO have their similarities that you can't look past.

4th: Leo. Valdez. firstly the backstories. in one of the SMATLL chapters it is revealed that Kenny seems to feel guilty for the deaths of his Mortal family and that just shouted Leo Valdez to me. Kenny in this fic doesn't like his powers and doesn't use them as he seems to feel they're responsible for the death of his loved ones. yk who else felt that way?LEO VALDEZ. Leo has the rare ability of a Hephaestus Kid to have fire powers, and yk his mom died in a fire. so that would put some more guilt on this kid's shoulders about his Mom's death especially after what his Aunt would be saying about it. while Later on both Leo and Kenny seem to start using their powers more like how in chapter 23 Kenny uses them way more than he Had in the past 22 chapters. and Leo uses his Fire Powers a little more in the later books (to my knowledge it's been a couple years since I've read HOO) both Kenny and Leo seem to have this mask of "yea I'm totally fine guys" that sometimes will break especially when their POV is the one we're reading. people seem to forget that Leo is NOT ok during these books lmao.
