"you would make a good Dalek" from s1e6 vs "you are a good Dalek" from s8e2...
the first one meaning "you have the qualities to be an ideal Dalek. you have all the hatred and cruelty it takes." and the second one meaning "you are a Dalek. you are exactly like us. the only difference is your morality. you've devoted yourself to a good cause, but that doesn't diminish the hatred, or all the death and destruction you cause. you're still a war machine just like us."

Since we got most of the S8 information before the actual season airs. I decided to make some guessing which footage is from which episode once again :3
(Part 1)
(disclaimer: this is mostly predicting, made for fun. Also, This post will be long)
S8E1 :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This episode gonna be summer centric.!! maybe They are scanning through something and the error caused summer to be traumatized by it. and they tried to use the mindblower on her (guessing by the look of the device) but she keep running away? also this episode's theme seems to tie to electronic theme
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also i'm guessing we will see the glimpse of the future. maybe at least through summer's vision as she having the same hair as the adult design
S8E2 :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this episode is probably the one with Rick and Space Beth. (while the titles clip shows there gonna be a two beth's centric eps. I think it's this one cuz the animatic show her in her space suit.) so she probably on a mission on that evil scientist bug(?) and rick run into her and they have a tsundere bond (and then she get shot and have an ego fight with rick that she's fine)
S8E3 :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the (new) citadel episode! I'm surprised there a long of footage of this episode this time around. (since the citadel always seem like their secret weapon or smth) I think this episode will spit into 2 parts 1st part revolve around after the citadel fallen on some planet and was built into western style. and we focus on that long hair rick. 2nd sub plot is rick and morty crash the ship and they landed on that planet (and maybe met the homesteader rick?) but they don't show up again until the end of the episode when the ship is repair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
S8E4 :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
probably the most informed episode at the moment. yes, this is the easter bunny episode. and yes, I'm looking forward this one 😭
this is from a conversation on the twitter. lance mention that Jerry might transforms into easter bunny and that's why he's trapped in the cystal. So, I think that after the family turn down jerry offer. Jerry probably goes out and celebrates easter alone. (:() Something happen, He's turning into the wererabbit. they need the egg to cure him (or not) also while rick is out there, they trap him in the crystal.
Tumblr media
S8E5 :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
honestly, this episode art looks amazing! this is the first episode they sneak peak. Rick and morty hijack a cyro ship. it went wrong and they disguised as one of the people in the pod. that also went wrong. though, I'm getting the same vibe from the Mortynight run Episode. (Since rick mentioned about Morty's moral compass. But I hope they give it some nice twist and not 'Morty tries to do good thing. It kill everyone and he is making everything wrose' again)
/that's it for now! :3 I'll cover the rest later. But from what I see, most of the footage is from the

disabled children and their parents - part 1
this post will be about babies born with disabilities, and part 2 will be about Susan Mullocks.
Call the Midwife has quite a number of families that are surprised to learn that their newborn has something going on that will make their lives different. Understandably they go through shock and adjustment periods and have to face difficult decisions. We will take a look at some examples in the third part of this post.
In a few cases the parents know before birth that there could be something that endangers their babies life and/or wellbeing.
One of the cases where the parents worry because of an older sibling who has a problem is the Sands family with Elaine. The girl shows symptoms of delayed development and starts having fits, due to phenylketonuria. Fortunately her baby sibling is fine. Elaine will need a special diet all her life to manage her condition and it is unclear how much she will be able to catch up on development. Both her parents are educated by medical staff and do their best. s10e5
Another family who has health concerns is the Aidoo family: first diagnosed in expecting mother Flora, they learn that her son and husband also have sickle cell disease. With both parents afflicted, it's a big concern that their newborn could also have it. Knowing what it is that will make their own and their children's lives harder, the family adjusts with the help of the Nonnatuns. Sickle cell disease remains a huge challenge for families and the health care providers worldwide - one thing people anywhere can do to help is sign up as a stem cell donor and maybe one day donate healthy blood stem cells to a patient. s8e2
In one case it was the grandmother who worried, because she knew about the family history with haemophilia. Hoping her daughter, Lorna Pryce, would have a baby girl, she did not mention that her husband died of the blood disorder. When the baby boy is born, it becomes apparent quickly that something is not working well and he needs hospital care in his first days of life. Probably not for the last time. His grandmother's experience may be helpful in managing his condition. s12e3
Kinda worried: The Reed family. Achondroplasia is making some things a challenge for Peggy and Derek Reed. The doctors fear that the baby they are expecting is going to have the condition as well - which would be likely, and the parents know what life would bring for their child. The other worry is that the child may not live, which would be very hard to bear. In the end the child is well and of regular size for a newborn. The new worry of her parents is that she will outgrow them soon - and they will indeed have to make adjustments again and again, like all parents have to. s6e3
Very clear example of a couple who has plenty of reasons to be anxious: another father called Derek, who has served in the army and was exposed to radiation during his time, is suffering even years after. What he did not expect is that the radiation poisoning would affect his children. When his wife Audrey gives birth, their son Christopher only lives for a few hours. Christopher's body did not develop in a way that made survival possible. The damage his father had endured on a genetic level caused Christopher's legs to be only half formed and more anomalies less visible caused his death. A deep shock for his parents. s10e1
A year later, after collecting information about similiar cases, Audrey is pregnant again. They trust the Nonnatuns to help again with the birth, but their fear that the new baby might also have problems is throwing a shadow over their excitement. Luckily their baby girl is well and lives. s11e1
Another example from an earlier season: (s3e5) in this episode mainly the baby's grandparents and the medical staff are worried that it might have a genetical condition: Sally Harper, a young woman with Down's syndrome, is pregnant. The baby's father, Sally's boyfriend Jacob who also lives in St. Gideon's, wants to marry her but is refused because he has a disability, too. Their baby is born too early and does not survive. We do not learn if it had Down's Syndrome. Sally and Jacob are separated, her parents would rather forget about everything. Jacob is sent to a different institution and does not get to say goodbye to Sally or to their child.
Tumblr media
let's stay a while on the topic of babies who die from their disabilities.
Irene and Pat Kelly are devastated when their newborn son dies suddenly. Later they learn that he had a problem with his lungs, they were not developed fully and that cut his life very short. There was no sign of a problem right after his birth, and there was nothing that could have been done to help him. The Kelly's can only grieve. s2e2
Valerie's cousin Maureen gives birth to her third child, Warren. At first everything looks fine, then she notices that her son is unusually floppy and quiet. Dr Turner finds symptoms that point to a problem with his heart, and the diagnosis later is that the baby was exposed to german measles in utero. Several problems make it unlikely that he will live long, and his parents are shocked and sad. Then they decide to care for him at home to make his life as comfortable and happy as they can. Maureen attempts to help her older children to cope with the situation and form a bond with their baby brother. Warren dies quietly while his parents and siblings are sleeping close by. This way the family was able to say goodbye in a way they could bear. s9e6
Tumblr media
Ruby Cottingham, proud mother of a bunch of boys, is pregnant again and hopes she'll get a girl. She has a difficult labor and needs a C-section, and the doctor is taken aback when he sees that the child is missing all limbs and other body parts. The hospital staff never lets Ruby see her baby, they decide to put the newborn in a side room and let the child die instead of trying to find out how to help. Sister Julienne finds and holds the baby while it is passing away. She is speaking up against a cruel decision, and later delivering the horrible news to Ruby. In the months after Ruby is dealing with her pain mostly alone and when she learns why her child died it is of no comfort. Thalidomide damaged her baby and she lost her child because some complete strangers did not do their work properly and sold dangerous medication. s5e4
Of the parents with disabled babies who lived there are some who will grow up just fine because their problem can be fixed with surgery, medication or other treatments. We'll look at them towards the end of this post. On the other hand, some children will be unwell all their lives and not grow as old as their peers.
Merle and Billy Vickers have two sons with the same puzzling poor health symptoms, and the little one is only saved from choking because his mother ran with him to get help at Nonnatus house. Sister Monica Joans insistence that Dr Turner look into an old textbook that describes their illness helps find the diagnosis "cystic fibrosis" and the treatment that will make the two boys' lives easier. With artificial enzymes they can have less side effects, but they will never be completely fine. s3e1
A newborn with a broken bone needs very careful handling. When Janice and Ray Prendergast have their first baby, Raymond, Sister Julienne discovers two broken bones within a very short time. Afraid that the boy has been assaulted, Dr Turner decides to take him away from his parents and into foster care. When the foster mother brings the baby in with another fracture, it becomes apparent that Raymond has osteogenesis imperfecta, and is therefore likely to suffer more broken bones. Extremely careful handling will protect him somewhat, but his life will be very challenging. s4e5
Two families, Shirley and Ian Dent and Marion and Godfrey Smith, are faced with a predicament like few others: their babies were muddled in the maternity home and each family took home the wrong child. One of the girls, Deborah, has a heart problem and will need surgery to survive. The parents are shocked and worried, and then they learn that the baby they have been caring for is not their own but the daughter of their aquaintances. They suddenly have the option of giving up the responsibility for Deborah. But it is not that easy. They have formed a bond with the sick child and cannot imagine just swapping her for another baby, not even their biological child, Jackie. The question how each family will go forward is unresolved, and we don't know if the risky surgery went well and the girl was fine. s4e7
Also unclear what became of the youngest child in the Lund family. The mother and older sister have Huntington's disease and will suffer increasingly from nerve damage. The hereditary condition could also be present in the baby, with no option of diagnosis as long as there are no symptoms. s7e3
Let's move on to more cheerful stories, shall we?
Remember Kirk? Youngest of six children, born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. Very inconvenient when your only job is sleeping and nursing. Milk gets into the airways and pneumonia will creep in, it's a nightmare. Now his mom Betty is usually a very competent and energetic woman. But with five other children demanding her attention and no husband at home because those sailors tend to sail away all the time, Betty feels she cannot give Kirk the care he needs. Adoption is considered. Until Valerie swoops in, sweeps the school children out the door, smack-talks the oldest boy into taking appropriate responsibility and gives Betty a hand with some of the chores. Kirk has his first surgery, his dad comes home, there's applause and a few years later he gets to be a flower child at Lucille's wedding. s8e3
Also in hospital with some complicated treatment: Clover, daughter of Clover, who now wants to be called Susan again. While the young woman wanted to give birth as naturally as possible, her baby needed immediate intervention because she was born with gastroschisis. Shelagh saves the day with some excellent staying calm skills, and the staff at the children's hospital find a way to put Clover's organs back where they belong. Susan reconciling with her father will also help Clover grow up safe and healthy. s13e2
I did not know that it is possible for a baby to be born with cancer. But apparently it happens often enough to have a name, this quite unlucky genetical mishap. Retinoblastoma. Both of Lindy Webster's girls have it and need treatment. They will be fine. The older girl will have just the one eye, but that's okay. Compared to other parents the Webster family is actually chill and will get through this. s13e5
Stefanie Baxter will be fine, too. More than that, probably, because her hip dysplasia is actually not that rare, the treatment is effective and she will have little long term problems. At first her mom Gillian was out of her depth, learning how to carry and care for a baby that needs to be in a harness and held in a certain way. Her husband Liam helps, as does Phyllis, who was the first to notice Stefanie's problem. Being carried in a baby wrap will help keep her legs in the right position and that is a really cosy way to take your newborn places or calm it down. s13e2
Of all the parents who are surprised by a baby with a disability, the Dellow family has the most happy outcome in my view. Blanche had planned to give her newborn to her childless sister, because her older children are already grown. When baby Robert arrives, he gets the diagnosis of Down's syndrome, and his aunt does not want to become his mother anymore. Blanche meanwhile calmly gets to know the little guy, is appaled by her sister's attitude and decides to keep him. Her husband initially finds it hard to deal with, but a conversation with Fred Buckle about Reggie changes his view. Violet even thanks Blanche for giving her the chance to glimpse a part of Reggie's past, because she never knew him as a baby. A couple of years later Robert is best friends with Reggie and they have the best time. 10e7
Tumblr media
I'll close part 1 and wander on to write part 2 with the lovely line from Susan's second episode:
"Children must be loved. There is no rule in life so simple, or so true."

endeavour musings xxi
featuring: exeunt iii
Thursday is coded as Cyril Morse: (1) he's associated twice with Horatius, from Lays of Ancient Rome, once in a voice-over and secondly when he quotes it in the beginning of the ep. According to book!canon, "he [Morse's father] could recite all of Macaulay’s Lays of Ancient Rome by heart;" second, Morse pays off his debt; third, he's having heart trouble, which Thursday brushes off with "a turn or something," exactly what Cyril says in Home. (Of course, by the end of the episode, we also see the other Thursdays coded as family for Morse: Sam shares his news, Joan hugs him, Mrs. Thursday gives him a Wed Special)
I'm still trying to understand the ending: I do think this is one of the places where it's supposed to be vaguely ambiguous, but the more you think about it the more it dissolves into a incoherent mush--I think trying to shove BV and a COW and Thursday into 90 minutes was WAY too much. I also think the ending is problematic because: -in order to make this work, we have to totally ignore the fact that 7e3 happened -we have to make the leap that Morse went out to meet Lott but was saved by the deus ex machina Bikers and only then told them about Tomahawk / Lott -- I think if we decide that Morse told them beforehand as insurance, he has actually committed premeditated murder. Which obviously would make him morally culpable than Thursday. And I find the coherence of this ending problematic: either we have Morse be innocent but saved by the narrative, or guilty of conspiring to murder and justified by the narrative. -magically, Morse has re-recovered his idealism from s8e2: then it was Morse insisting that Sian was "nothing to anyone" and Thursday arguing, even as the lone man, she was "something to us," something to "me at any rate." Part of my problem with this is that, up to this point, we have seen Thursday put everything on the line for that principle: up to and including his career, his marriage. How many times has he nearly died for it? Well, half a dozen at least in canon. Except his children -- but I can't believe we're supposed to think that Thursday should let himself or Sam be stabbed to death.
- Thursday arrives at exactly the right time for Sam to still be in the toilets and to nearly be stabbed to death -I do think that the distinction between the actual stabbing and the cover-up needed to be more delineated in the show. One of the big problems I have here is that the cover-up, according to what we're shown or told, is totally unnecessary. Sam was still in the toilet. Are we supposed to think that Thursday is trying to protect his son from...being a witness? From being found out doing drugs?-- altho if he was just a witness (which he is), that would be fairly easy to obfuscate--the episode establishes the Biker gang are very capable of indiscriminate violence. Or are we supposed to think that Thursday is terrified of being arrested for murder? If it's supposed to parallel Neverland, that is. Or Sam being arrested for murder? But again, that assumes that Thursday wouldn't step up and say he did it, which he clearly tells Morse. -the reveal of Raymond Kennett as Peter Williams seems like a plot device to pile on emotional angst but not actually do anything. We couldn't have gotten that Jakes reveal scene??? -I honestly feel like either leaning into this situation: ie, having Thursday cover up that Sam did kill Tomahawk might have worked better? Or just having Thursday die.
-The problem with making the forces of Corruption so powerful and evil in this series that Corruption has totally sealed up BV, and will be able to shut it down again. Driven Thursday out of London 2x -- with the threat of death on his head. And yet, it turns out to be Lott, whose easily dealt with. It just doesn't work for me. And yet another narrative trope I really don't like: the Corruption is so widespead so evil that they can't trust anybody else. Except, we know that's not true in canon (ie DCI MacNutt) so it's just a narrative convenience. -the Conga trauma line that takes place in s9 to make this happen, on top of what has already happened to Thursday in the whole series + and his own traumatic backstory makes this seem totally character-breaking. On the one hand, we have Thursday saying over and over again that he will do anything for his family, but in order to make it believable in the show, so many separate things have to be applying pressure at once it seems a lot like character derailment: he's leaving Morse, he's totally burnt-out, actual trauma of BV where he nearly died being reopened, he's ill, Charlie, Sam, actual murder attempt. -Strange never manages to mention his wife's name or Thursday's (his FIL!) name's ever again. Neither does DeBryn -- even though they have no reason not to. Everyone in canon forget they exist. (Yeah, I'm playing around in a v meta way here, but also I think if you decide to anchor the Thursdays so strongly in canon, you have to expect that!)
-Yeah, he can forgive Violetta actually murdering people but not Thursday defending himself and his family. QED.

Speed-running Doctor Who - 3rd Doctor
Tumblr media
A quick and dirty guide for those who want to get into the show, but don't want to watch everything from the beginning.
For Those Who Just Wanna Get An Idea of the Era
The Claws of Axos - S8E3
Tumblr media
It's not the best. It's not the worst. It's just pure average Who... The Third Doctor's type of Who precisely. It hits all of the stereotypical notes that the era is known for while being an easy digestible four parts length, and is fairly continuity lite.
Plot Important Episodes
Entrances, Exits, Enemies, Lore Drops, and Character Development
Tumblr media
Spearhead from Space - S7E1 (first story with the Third Doctor, the return of UNIT, introduces both Liz and the Autons)
Doctor Who and the Silurians - S7E2 (first story to feature the Silurians)
Inferno - S7E4 (character development for the Doctor and Liz's last story)
Terror of the Autons - S8E1 (return of the Autons, the first story featuring The Master... who may or may not be a later incarnation of the Meddler and/or War Master, and introduces both Jo and Mike Yates)
The Mind of Evil - S8E2 (character development for The Master)!
Colony in Space - S8E4 (the first time the Third Doctor gets to travel to an alien planet and we find out that the Time Lords are using him as a reluctant 'agent' to further their agenda)
The Dæmons - S8E5 (the season finale and the Master is finally apprehended by UNIT)
Day of the Daleks - S9E1 (the return of the Daleks after a long absence and the first full timey whimey story)
The Sea Devils - S9E3 (The Master breaks out of jail and joins forces with the Silurians' cousins the titled Sea Devils)
The Three Doctors - S10E1 (first multi-Doctor story, 10th anniversary special, introduces Omega)
Frontier in Space - S10E3 (introduces the Draconians and is the final story with Delgado's Master)
The Green Death - S10E5 (Jo's last story and character development for Mike Yates)
The Time Warrior - S11E1 (Sarah Jane's first story and the first appearance of the Sontarans)
Invasion of the Dinosaurs - S11E2 (The Doctor is betrayed by one of his companions!)
Planet of the Spiders - S11E5 (final story with the Third Doctor and Mike Yates' last appearance)
Personal Favorite and Least Favorite Stories
Because one man's trash is another man's treasure and vice versa
Favorite: The Ambassadors of Death - S7E3
Tumblr media
Least Favorite: The Mutants - S9E4
Tumblr media
(disclaimer: no spin-offs or extended universe stuff was considered when making this list)
Up Next: Fourth Doctor

South Park Filler Guide - Season 8
Link for Seasons 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
PLS my analysis will have spoilers, if you’re a first time viewer, just scroll to the bottom and read the list and only read full text if you are familiar with the content of the show already! S8E1 Good Times with Weapons is FILLER
Tumblr media
Yes! Everyone's favorite season premiere is a filler, baby! It was fun, we sang, we cried, in the end Butters never has a scar on his eye again. S8E2 Up the Down Steroid is LORE
Tumblr media
We have a new tradition, which is that after last season's Krazy Kripples, we'll have a new Jimmy episode every year! And this is the first time we meet Nathan and the rest of the special education kids. S8E3 The Passion of the Jew is FILLER
Tumblr media
I wanted to tell you this one was canon, because the season has constant mentions of Passion of the Christ so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter. S8E4 AWESOM-O is FILLER
Tumblr media
Sooo if every anime filler was as good as these ones, the filler guides most likely wouldn't exist (or they would, because humans), but again, what we have is a self-contained story. S8E5 You Got F'd in the A is FILLER
Tumblr media
At one point I might have convinced myself that what I'm doing with this recap makes some kind of sense, but alas, it doesn't. This became an episodic show and we miss out on all the best episodes. Why am I lamenting at You Got F'd instead of Good Times with Weapons? Because I'm a loose cannon with no regard for the law. That may be true, but I get the job done, God damn it. S8E6 The Jeffersons is CANON
Tumblr media
No other Mr. Jefferson episode came out while Michael was still alive. As a hologram he later references his name being Jefferson again, but this one only ads a little more context to that. This one also pretty much introduced the new cops of South Park. S8E7 Goobacks is FILLER
Tumblr media
Yes, Darryl and the Took our jobs meme are here, but it will return in enough episodes to still be understood. S8E8 Douche and Turd is CANON
Tumblr media
What a great election episode! We get town lore (Stephen with the ram's horn again) and an allegory that will return in a big way later. S8E9 Something Walmart This Way Comes is FILLER
Tumblr media
I regularly forget this one exists and doesn't make a difference at all. Sorry, got too subjective. Objectively this is an episode with a simple message and without a larger scope for the show. S8E10 Pre-School is FILLER
Tumblr media
Trent Boyett never returned. But if you think about it, he is one of the boys' greatest foes. I wish one of the specials was a follow-up of the 15 year old versions of the characters meeting Trent again. If everything else fails, THAT would bring me back and change my classifications! S8E11 Quest for Ratings is FILLER
Tumblr media
One time the boys played cops. They even played musicians. Now they play newsreaders. Only Jimmy is in for the long-run and he will get episodes that focus on that individually. S8E12 Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset is CANON
Tumblr media
Not just because it's a follow-up to Death Camp of Tolerance, that in itself wouldn't be enough. But Paris also has an extended role in a specific later episode I mentioned a lot, but never dropped. It's 200 by the way. And 201. Now I am a bit picky of which ones to include if we got no other clue for an episode. The show never got to 200 celebrities at that point. Also, some of them were in that episode first. So only the most prominent ones get their debuts counted as canon ones by default. S8E13 Cartman's Incredible Gift is CANON
Tumblr media
A character dies. Harrison Yates gets more role here as a detective, slowly drifting away from Barbrady. S8E14 Woodland Critter Christmas is FILLER
Tumblr media
It's just in Eric's mind. Some of you are already mad at me for this. Some of you will only get it later and be mad at me in the season 11 post.
SPOILER-FREE RUNDOWN
Again, CANON means you should watch it, FILLER means you can skip it, LORE is somewhere in-between, any episode with the LORE label will have an explanation that helps you decide if you should include it or not. S8E1 Good Times with Weapons is FILLER S8E2 Up the Down Steroid is LORE* S8E3 The Passion of the Jew is FILLER S8E4 AWESOM-O is FILLER S8E5 You Got F'd in the A is FILLER S8E6 The Jeffersons is CANON S8E7 Goobacks is FILLER S8E8 Douche and Turd is CANON S8E9 Something Walmart This Way Comes is FILLER S8E10 Pre-School is FILLER S8E11 Quest for Ratings is FILLER S8E12 Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset is CANON S8E13 Cartman's Incredible Gift is CANON S8E14 Woodland Critter Christmas is FILLER
*Casually introduces the special ED kids
CANON counter:
S1: 9 out of 13  S2: 3 out of 18  S3: 6 out of 18  S4: 10 out of 17  S5: 8 out of 14  S6: 11 out of 17 S7: 6 out of 15 S8: 4 out of 14

Chapter 32 dump 😵‍💫
I am doing way too much overthinking atp it’s really not that serious 🧍🏻‍♀️
I wanna do at least 500-1000 words per scene, especially since I’m not planning on publishing for a month, and i wanna do lotor lore. honestly if it manages to get to 10k i'll be happy. there's so much i wanna write 😁
(I’m lazy though)
scene list:
Haggar gives birth (s8e2)
Eleanora//the legend of the Warrior of Time//newborn baby Lotor introduction
*maybe* some cute Lotor x y/n sibling fluff
*should* Lotor x y/n scars origin (mentioned in v1 in ch. 12)
Scars are trophies, Lotor’s words from my childhood echo in my ears. They show you are strong.
I can almost feel his fingers gingerly tracing the fresh cuts on my arms, his touch both tender and careful. He had cleaned them up for me that day, sneaking into my room despite orders for us to remain separated. His eyes filled with a sadness that made my heart ache. It was as if he were trying to convince himself of the words he spoke, just as much as he was trying to convince me.
Don’t cry, he murmured, tucking the hair behind my ears. You are so strong, (Y/N). Stronger than you know.
Lotor being separated at 13 years old
Lotor seeing y/n’s image flash across the empire stating that she’s dead/killed (? I need to refresh my memory)
lotor's colony planet that gets destroyed (make Ven'tar his fiance or something and she's pregnant) (s8e2)
Lotor founds the Altean colonies (s6e4)
lotor meets Acxa
*maybe* lotor/acxa try to get into the blade of marmora
lotor/acxa wedding scene
Acxa returns to the team after the Weblum
Lotor right before he kills Narti (s4e3)
Team Lotor at planet Daibazaal’s ruins (s4e5) // Acxa’s slight pov
Acxa and Haggar maybe going to Oriande…? (S5e6)
lotor & allura go into the quintessence field (s6e4)
shiro kidnaps lotor and all that team lotor stuff (s6e5)
lotor and acxa scene
lotor tries talking to the paladins
voltron v sincline fight begins

Tables Turned
20. Intimidate
From this list of gt prompts.
AU: Alternate BTaS with Twelve, not related to the Twelve AU "Time After Time" as it predates that story. Set during s8e2 Into The Dalek.
Note: I went back and forth on making this from Clara's POV or Zepheera's, but the former lent well to this prompt so I rolled with it. Not quite a size swap, but a fun reversal to play with!
~~~
Clara had never focused on her breathing more than in that moment. All she could hear in her head was the Doctor's objectively silly, yet somehow incredibly potent warning on repeat in her head.
"Don't be lasagne."
Couple that with the mental image of her body popping like a microwave dinner with an unbroken film, and Clara had to concentrate on not just breathing normally, but to keep herself from hyperventilating.
Being crammed into a tube with four other people was a whole other matter, even if one of them was the Doctor. The brand new Doctor that she still had yet to get to know properly. Clara glanced at him as the countdown to the machine's activation began, and followed his sharp gaze to one of the soldiers outside their capsule.
Clara could just make out, through the curve of the thick glass around them, the distant silhouette of their third travel companion on the soldier's shoulder. The figure of a four and a half inch tall woman, standing well to the side of the unfamiliar human's neck in a manner quite unlike the more relaxed positions Clara was used to. Once the two women had gotten used to each other (and particularly back when the Doctor was a different, slightly more personable man), Zepheera could often be found in the crook of one of their necks for stability.
The Doctor wasn't the only one worried about leaving the borrower behind, but in the end they all agreed it was for the best. Even Zepheera's protests about her exclusion were silenced when he reminded her that they were being miniaturized to a microscopic level. He'd left nothing to the imagination as he pointed out the drastic size difference there already was between the borrower and her companions. If she were to join them, she'd be practically subcellular, and there was nothing that could save her if they were to be separated while in the chassis of the Dalek they were meant to examine from the inside.
That was almost a more sobering notion than the lasagne metaphor.
The hum of the miniaturization machine powered up, and the process began. Lost in her thoughts and her breathing, Clara almost missed that it had happened, it was over so quickly. Like they had all fallen a short distance, but experienced no impact.
The room outside their capsule had blown out into such incredible proportions that it was difficult for Clara to comprehend at first. The tremor that hit the miniaturized lot all at once felt like an earthquake, and yet Clara came to find that, based on the change in the looming shapes above, that it was one of many steps that one soldier had taken toward retrieving them from the machine. She'd only just begun to wonder why they had stopped at just one step when a new set of vibrations approached. These ones were far less intense but more rapid, and heralded a familiar shape.
Clara found her jaw dropping in awe as she stared up and up through the glass at the towering form of not one of the humans, but of the borrower, grinding to a halt after her jog to find them.
She knew for a fact that they were going to be miniaturized to a size far smaller than Zepheera's few inches, but knowing that fact and experiencing it were two very different things. Up til now, everything Zepheera did seemed light and nimble. The way she'd climb her way around and vanish from sight with ease after decades of practice was almost magical. Like something straight out of a storybook, Clara had thought.
Now, Zepheera felt like something out of a completely different story. The capsule itself was smaller than Zepheera's boot, which ordinarily barely covered one of Clara's fingertips. Every motion she made shook the ground as she dropped to her hands and knees to peer inside the capsule, her deep violet irises more clear to Clara than they'd ever been before.
The level of detail she could make out now was incredible! Short brown hair hanging like curtains of wire around her head, creases of concern in her features that Clara could probably fit her whole hand between. Speaking of hands, Zepheera's were pressed to the ground not all that far away, to support her impressive frame. The fingers were long enough to outmatch any of them, the whole hand large enough to pick up the capsule herself as though it were a discarded soda can. The massive chest overhead expanded and contracted as Zepheera breathed a sigh of relief to see everyone safe and no one made into unbroken lasagne, a displacement that felt like a gust to the miniaturized humans. Not to the point that it shook them up from inside their sturdy little tube of metal and glass, but in that way that you sense wind against a window in a building.
Someone chastised Zepheera for getting so close and interrupting procedures. As a sheepish look crossed her billboard of a face, Clara looked to the others around her. The Doctor was fine– well, as fine as he could be while preparing to enter one of his greatest enemies– and simply shot Zepheera a stern look over his shoulder. Seeing the tense body language of the soldiers who didn't know the towering borrower made Clara recognize that she, too, felt stiff all over at the sight.
Clara wondered if Zepheera felt so intimidated around herself and the Doctor sometimes.
The tremors of Zepheera sitting back on her heels were apparently enough to distract Clara from the approaching soldier, and the next thing she knew, there was an enormous pair of tweezers on either side of the capsule. Before they could connect, Clara shot one more look upwards at the borrower overhead, and their eyes met. Concern was still evident in Zepheera's expression high above, so Clara instinctively stuck out a thumbs-up for her.
Zepheera's brow rose, but then she smiled and held up her own thumbs-up. With a thumb that very well might have been taller than Clara at that moment.
Another humbling thought.
Dead City, Ep 5
@wdway
I watched the new DC episode yesterday and it's unreal how many callbacks of symbols to the Bethyl arc there were. I won't spoil any of the story of Maggie and Negan in this episode, but I will say that there is a major one regarding Maggie. I want you guys to enjoy it. There's two things that I'm going to talk about though, one was shown in last week's preview for this episode so I don't feel like I'm truly spoiling it other than where I'm going with it as far as connecting it to Daryl and Beth. The other one though I guess might be consider a spoiler, but I'll simply ask for forgiveness instead of permission to talk about it.
Tumblr media
I'm not sure if this is the exact shot from the last week's preview for e5, there must have been a shot from the back of the bus because it sent me down a long tunnel this week. I have actually been waiting all week for this episode because of the shot of the back of this school bus. I decided not to talk about it earlier and wait to see where it led, if it was just a simple nod to a past episode or if it was something more. Guys it's so, so very something more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess this is the spoiler part, Armstrong and Negan get on this bus. I was so absolutely thrilled that not only do we see the 101 on the back of the bus but it is so in our face super large on the inside. And while we're at it I'll just mention Negan holding a black and white first aid kit. When is a first aid kit black and white and not red with a white cross. Unless you're dropping a black/white= Beth symbol. Sit back and relax because we're about to go on the journey of that number 101 symbolism. When I saw that number last week and it was on a bus my mind immediately went to s5e5 Self-Help.
Tumblr media
See that lovely 101 in the back of the bus.
During this scene we also hear Eugene giving us foreshadowing for TWB. Since we were told by Gimple that the coda in s2e10 of TWB could tie in to Daryl spin-off we have ties between s5, DC, and DD spin-off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@galadrieljones
Isn’t this the episode too on which Eugene’s major lie is revealed?
@wdway
Oh, it gets better. Remember this is a bus, a small one and it's not yellow, it's white and white=Beth and there's one other major connection.
Tumblr media
The licensed tag number XH6 S781. Is the same license tag as.....
Tumblr media
The license tag on the Black Car White Cross in Alone, that Daryl chases all night because inside that car was Beth being kidnapped.
This connection is so very important because of it's history.
S3e10 Home.
Tumblr media
S4e13 Alone.
Tumblr media
S4e15 US.
Tumblr media
S5e5 Self-Help.
Tumblr media
S5e7 Crossed.
Tumblr media
Except for the license tag in Self-Selp all the others are tied directly to Daryl. He's in the scene in everyone where the tag was seen except for Self Help. That one exception isn't so bad since it does loosely tie into the DD spinoff. And more importantly throughout the years Eugene has given us major Beth connections.
@wdway
A couple of side tunnels on these license tag connections. In the episode US not only do we see Daryl with the license tag, but in the same scene we see him bed down in front of a vehicle that is the same as what he and Beth spent the night in the beginning of Still. In that same episode there is a tunnel with piles of walkers, a major callback for the sewer system tunnels that Maggie is in in the DC episode. Just want to mention that at the end of the US episode Maggie and her true love Glenn are reunited.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the DC 101 bus scene we also see a sign that tells the passengers to buckle up.
Tumblr media
This is a callback to s5e7 Crossed. The episode where we see the license tag on a Grady Police vehicle with Daryl in the scene. We also see buckle up signs with the DC team that is stranded with the fire truck. Eugene is unconscious because Abraham has knocked him out after he confessed that his scheme to get to DC was a scam.
Tumblr media
Is all this a coincidence, I don't think so.
Let's for a moment talk about the number 101. It could stand for TWD s1e1 Days Gone Bye, but I believe it a nod to series episode 101 which was s8e2 The Damned. Written by Matthew Negrete and Channing Powell. In this episode we see Daryl in a room were someone had been held with handcuffs and a can of dog food. Rick in a scene with a painting from episodes Still. And we see a character from s1 that's been gone for seven seasons. I think this episode is the better choice for the 101 hint.
I will get to my next rant, that includes a little spoiler but I think you'll enjoy it, a little later this afternoon.
@galadrieljones
Thats extremely interesting. The number 101 also shows up in “The Cell,” written by Angela Kang, which is a great Negan/Daryl/Dwight episode. In the episode we see a sign that says “101 Days Without a Recordable Accident.” I’m on my phone so I don’t have a screenshot, but it’s in my notes. I’ll go back and try to find a screen in a bit. This is obviously a callback to 30 Days Without an Accident, the origin of Bethyl. At the end of the episode, which is a majorly affirming moment for Daryl, Negan tests him and asks him what his name is. Daryl says, “Daryl.” Later back in his cell, Dwight yells at Daryl and tells him he’s going to end up dead if he doesn’t comply. Daryl says, “I get why you did it. Why you took it. You were thinking about someone else. That’s why I can’t.” You could argue he’s referring to almost anyone. But the reference to 30 Days makes me feel it’s meant to be referring to Beth, and to her advice that “You gotta stay who you are, not who you were.”
There’s more tho. You mentioned a dog food reference and handcuffs, which Daryl sees, in episode 101. In “The Cell,” Dwight only feeds Daryl dog food sandwiches while he’s incarcerated at the Sanctuary.
The Cell also has major callbacks to Slabtown and feels like it’s meant to be Daryl’s Grady. Then reference to “dog food” could also be a callback to Them, when they ate dog, and the dog in Alone, who shows up during lunch.
@wdway
Love this! I remembered the dog food reference from the cell and that's why I mentioned it, but I totally forgot the 101 Days reference. What a great tie in!
@galadrieljones
Not to mention the title of “The Cell” as being a legit reference back to the first time he hugged Beth, at her “cell.” Daryl’s cell, which is cold and full of death and sadness, is like a direct inversion of hers, which is full of joy and togetherness.
It’s all extremely thoughtful on the part of the writers (who are all mysteriously the same ppl LOL). I love all the stuff with this license plate. It’s extremely fishy. I am intrigued.
I especially love that Buckle Up echo. That seems super purposeful. Look at how the sign is so prominent in the foreground of that shot! I have always wondered wtf that was meant to do. I am thinking it’s one of those things Gimple made stand out for no reason other than that he planned to go back and foil it later at an opportune time, to remind ppl to come back to this episode. Genius!
Also, that’s from Crossed? Getting awfully close to Coda, with the Daryl spin-off next on the horizon. And from Daryl’s pov, the immediate precursor to Coda is Consumed. And with Carol now on the docket for the DD spin-off? I’m VERY intrigued.
@wdway
As I was getting shots for all the scenes with the same license tag number it occurred to me that I had always associated it with Beth which still remains true because it's from the car that she was kidnapped in. It struck me now as how it's actually more of a Daryl tag. The two are tied together. When we see it on the Jeep in episode Home it is just before Daryl goes back to the prison to his true home where Beth is. Every time we see this license tag number with Daryl we can tie the storyline to Beth. I should say every time we see it other than Self-Help.
That buckle up sign in Crossed has always stood out to me too. I just want to say that from your above comments that you are absolutely going to love what I'm going to talk about when I come back with my second spoiler this afternoon. A little tease.
@galadrieljones
I will try to watch DC tonight! And I can’t wait for your next discussion!!
@galadrieljones
Kind of a digression, but I thought the number 101 was still familiar to me. It appears in season 5, preceding the 82 fire engine. The 82 in TWD also corresponds to the 82nd Airborne Division, which is a parachuting division, and which was Bob’s division, per the insignia on his coat, which Sasha wears in season 5. Then in Always Accountable, she gives a speech to Abraham using parachuting as a metaphor, and in the episode, Abraham finds a military walker attached to a parachute hanging off an overpass with the bazooka. Parachuting is an interesting metaphor but it also seems to be related to WWII and the military references, as well as France, because the 82nd airborne was one of two parachuting infantries deployed at Normandy on D-Day. The other parachuting infantry deployed was the 101st Airborne, aka the Screaming Eagles. I have a small inkling that I need to research further. I’ll try and get to that later this afternoon. I just thought it was yet another interesting coincidence
@wdway
Great connections to 101. I thought of another connection in TWD. 101 is the house number of the Alexandria house that Rick, Michonne. Carl, Judith and I believe Daryl lived. Before Michonne moved into Deanna's townhouse with Daryl living in the basement after Rick was blown up.
@wdway
Now for my second Dead City symbol hint that tptb left in the episode to drive me crazy . This one is a bit of a spoiler because it wasn't in the e5 preview. It was a nice surprise when I first saw it. It made me smile with the thought, "I see what you're doing, Gimple, with this book. On behalf of TD, challenge accepted." You will see the book in the apartment scene of the older woman that we haven't seen before from the e5 preview. She's conveniently looking at/reading it as an excuse for it to be shown.
Tumblr media
Frontiers of Historical Imagintion. By Kerwin Lee Klein. It is a real book. Here is the cover and synopsis when I researched it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's a different cover in the episode than what is seen and is offered for purchase on several different sites. I think it very purposeful that the cover was changed, because when I saw this book it jumped out at me for two reasons, the first was that it reminded me of another book that was featured in s5e6 Consumed.
Tumblr media
The book that Daryl found at the women's shelter when he and Carol spent the night after following the black car with a white cross that looked like the car that took Beth. It was sitting on the desk under a lamp with a hot pink lampshade. In the episode Consume we see the book twice. At the woman's shelter and again when Daryl and Carol are arguing about Noah taking their weapons and Carol trying to shoot him to stop him. It's during the argument that the book fell from Daryl's backpack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first shot was just as Daryl is about to drop his backpack. I want to point out the red Fire Extinguisher on the right and the fire alarm pull on the left. Both are Beth symbols that was seen several times in e5 of DC this week. The book on the floor has a small tip of a Pink pen showing in the top right hand corner. The last shot is simply of Carol with a clear shot of the red Fire alarm pull.
The second thing that the book, Frontiers of Historical Imagintion, reminded me of was the use of the word Frontier in past seasons and episodes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also a reminder that the word Frontier originated in France. The location of the DD spin-off.
These are the main things that I just couldn't wait to tell you about. There are other things that we will have conversations about, believe me. I can't wait for you guys to watch the episode. You'll be excited, it's a very Bethyl symbol friendly episode. Especially around Negan.
@wdway
Oh, when I was getting shoots of Daryl with the license tag in episode US, I went and got a couple of shots from the tunnel scene with all the walkers because of the similarities of it and the sewer walkers in this episode of DC. Guess what kind of walker I saw that we never noticed before? One with a hole in its chest. Tales of the Dead, anyone, haha.
Tumblr media
@galadrieljones
These are great finds! I love your beat on the “frontier.” What seems like such a one-off dialogue choice has proven to be extremely meaningful. Also that walker looks like he’s had multiple organs removed. Hmmm.
I do love Alaska as the last “frontier.” Ofc the episode “Alaska” is when Dwight (our main Daryl proxy) finds Sherry again after a long scavenger hunt across the country.
@twdmusicboxmystery
I just finished watching the episode. I feel like I might have missed some of it, as my employees were texting me. So I need to rewatch. But, I loved it! I see what you mean about callbacks.
I actually noticed a handful of callbacks to the Governor. But it was specifically the Gov where the prisoner exchange was taking place at the prison, which was a direct foreshadow of Grady, so it all amounts to the same thing.
Which made me realize that this entire thing (in DC) is one giant Grady template. We actually do have a prisoner exchange situation going on. We just didn’t know it before now. (You’ll understand when you watch, @galadrieljones.) I won’t give spoilers until you’ve watched, but I also want to say that the King Walker (they had promos of it our before the series began) with lots of arms and heads was pretty damn gross and also pretty damn cool.
Tumblr media
I also wonder if the picture you put above of the walker with lots of holes in its torso could have been someone similar to the King Walker. I don’t know for sure. We can talk about it more later.
Thanks for the info about the book. I noticed the focus on it and thought I should write down the title to research it, but you beat me to that. It mostly reminded me of Francis Marion’s story (the Swamp Fox), which took place during the Revolution/French and Indian War era, so native Americans were definitely involved. Furthermore, the building the book was in said King Francis. There was a King Francis who was married to Mary Queen of Scots. But I think the name on this building is more likely to indicate Francis Marion.
We first figured out that story and it’s reference to West Virginia after seeing the pirate book in Daryl’s room. Just saying.
The other interesting thing is that the actress in this episode is famous for being on Ozarks. I don’t know if either of you have watched that. All I’ll say is that this woman does not take nice-old-lady/Grandma roles. She’s more of a drug-dealing-human-trafficking-I’ll-shoot-your-face-off sort. So, I’m very interested to find out more about who she is and how she’s in connected to everything.
@wdway:
Tumblr media
@twdmusicboxmystery, I really liked how they set up a question in the first episode with Ginny looking at the water tower and answered it in the 5th episode without making a big deal of it and letting it play out, letting everyone have the, "oh my gosh," kind of moment putting the pieces together. I love putting the pieces together about her and Maggie. It's suddenly made so much sense and made me think about going back and watching e4 again.
@twdmusicboxmystery:
Yeah for sure. That was super interesting. And the “Liar” was another callback to the Gov.
@galadrieljones
Guys I haven’t watched yet but I’m really loving the notes as a preview, especially the King Francis reference. I can’t wait till after I watch to share this so I’m just going to share it now. King Francis I of France was well known as a great patron of the arts, and the thing he is perhaps most noted for is that he was, after Davinci himself, the first and only private owner of the Mona Lisa. Leonardo DaVinci painted the Mona Lisa in Florence. It was originally a commission piece. But he was unhappy with it and instead of turning it over to the customer, he brought it with him to France, where he had been personally invited to stay by King Frances himself. When Davinci died (he is buried in Amboise, in the Loire Valley—my husband and I visited his grave on our honeymoon), King Francis took over ownership of the Mona Lisa, and it remained in royal ownership until the French Revolution, when it was taken by the ppl and displayed in the Louvre. What a CRAZY coincidence!!!!
@wdway
I have thought the name, King Francis looked familiar. So glad you did the research. I remember several months ago when I was search doing research on the Mona Lisa I got pulled into the story of how Napoleon had come to have the painting. For a while it was in his bedroom, but that's because the prior owner which I'm pretty sure was King Francis had first owned it. Am I the only one shaking my head wondering if the whole purpose of Dead City to set up symbolism for the DD spinoff?
Okay, okay, wAIT! I’m actually obsessed with the scene in S8E2 “Without” where Scully pulls a gun on Skinner because she isn’t sure he’s actually himself. Beautiful writing for my spiraling girlie bUT the tension in this scene is so 🫠🫠🫠
Am I about to read too much into this? Mayhaps, but that’s why people love me 🥰
Scully pulls her gun and he does the same. His instincts are fast but I think he’s just a little too used to his favorite agents pulling a gun on him. 🫠 Walter adamant that he’s himself and her friend. (The way his hard voice softens specifically on the word “friend” 🥺💖.) Scully ordering him to turn around “or else I’m going to assume that you’re not who you say you are.”
That line alone gets me. The phrasing itself is so unbelievably wild. She could have just as easily said the typical, “Turn around or I’ll shoot you,” line but she explicitly states, “if you don’t do as I say I’ll know you aren’t Skinner.”
Because Skinner has and always will do whatever she asks, no matter the risks. He’s never denied her anything.
Scully’s arm locking in place, not backing down, and Skinner realizes there’s no way he can talk to her. Not without giving into her demands. Although it doesn’t feel like it to him, putting his weapon down and turning his back to her puts them on more even footing in her eyes. Gives her control.
Walter swallows his words and concedes. Puts his gun down and keeps looking at her but she still doesn’t move. That’s where he becomes irritated. Pissed that she was being so damn stubborn. He turns his back to her. He’s not slow about it either! He never puts his hands up. He doesn’t beg for her to listen to him or think rationally. He just turns and shakes his head. He has absolutely zero control but he’s calm. Skinner is more offended than scared for his life. His huge, broad back (*bonk* horny jail) completely exposed to her. And what a picture that paints 🫠💖 Tiny Dana Scully having a big man like Walter Skinner take orders from her. Making himself vulnerable to her.
He tries again to reason with her but he’s moody about it. Throws her words back in her face. It’s enough of a distraction to swipe the gun from her hands. Taking back control. Immediately berates her, pointing the end of the gun at her as he scolds her for endangering both of them and putting him in a position he was uncomfortable with. A moment passes as she gathers her breath and Scully FOR REAL looks at the man like 🥺 and holds out her hand. Frustrated but knowing he got his point across, he begrudgingly holds her gun out to her.
This is where I’m gonna lose some of you.
But the vibes in this scene reeked of seasoned dom playing with new dom who brings a risky kink/scene into play ajabsvxvshbshs
Side note: How this man still loves and trusts Mulder and Scully after the number of times they’ve pulled a gun on him with full intention to shoot I’ll never know. He’s so ride or die for the people he cares about fr 😭💖
I'll definitely offer a quote for "A" because it's one of my favorites:
THURSDAY (to Morse): "Another beer, or are you Bitter enough?"
