Hey, thanks for that post about no leaks. You're totally right. Could you please give us some tips on how to avoid ticking off Japanese fans? Like, what are the unwritten rules or things we should know about their side?

So there are a few ways you can avoid ticking them off, but it’s important to remember that many of them are rather protective of TWST and will legit pick fights with global fans for even trying to enjoy it.

Here are some that I picked up on so please don’t take this the wrong way or stir up unnecessary drama or problems. This is based on what I have seen, had happen to me, or have asked a JP fan about… wouldn’t exactly call them unwritten rules- just what I have noticed gets them angry…

No sharing the ABEMA stream content UNTIL the stream has concluded. They are VERY protective of the ABEMA streams as those are only accessible through Japanese VPN servers if overseas. I was sent death threats by one person because I posted a picture of Skully back at Halloween.

NO DATA MINING! There have been major leaks throughout the game’s runtime, most notable being the Ghost Marriage cards… someone went in and shared all the leaked groovy cards for that event all over the internet and the JP fandom was FURIOUS, understandably so. Someone did that recently with the Nightmare Before Christmas event in October- someone leaked the sprites and the entire lineup BEFORE the stream and it was all over YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter.

Card edits are a big one, now I have seen some beautiful edits by fans but many on the JP fandom find it to be highly offensive and disrespectful to the original artist. They hold a firm belief that it should not be touched and scribbled on as means to change the character entirely. I recently learned from a JP fandom individual that these card edits people make are a hot topic in many groups and make that side of the fandom look down on global fans because they believe everything is about them and how they desire to push certain narratives. Of course, that’s is only what I know from one individual.

Headcanons regarding gender, sexuality, etc. A lot of the fandom gets confused when people push certain headcanons and try to physically rewrite the canon by saying that their HC is the real deal. We all love to say a silly HC about the characters we love, I do to, but I learned that some of them can cause the JP side to get rather… upset. I’m cool with all HCs as long as they are not being forced onto people but I can’t speak for everyone or are pushing toxic narratives or offensive stereotypes.

Using official tags to spread spoilers, they absolutely HATE that. I’ve seen people do that many times and have to deal with messages like “umm hey, take that down, spoilers.” and etc.

REPOSTING THEIR ART IS A BIG NO NO! I have seen so many accounts on instagram reposting JP artists work and it’s just horrible… I get there is a language barrier but there are translator apps! No one should have to say “oh I didn’t know” when it takes a simple screenshot and upload to the Google Translate. Don’t do it.

Those are just a few I could think of off the top of my head, there are probably more so feel free to contribute to this in any way possible because it’s time we start heavily respecting the JP community as we as a global community have done enough damage over the years and it needs to cease.

*First I’ll state all the headcanons, then I’ll comment about them

Deliberately did a poor job whenever it was his turn to clean to manipulate Zane into doing it instead

Isn’t the biggest fan of sea food, yet frequently pretends to like it (specifically in front of Nya)

Frequently oversleeps

Terribly afraid of spiders and giant animals

As a child was incredibly energetic and restless, often exhausting Ed and Edna

Still, nobody is aware of his adoption for the sole reason that he’s scared of having a meltdown if anyone asks ‘how do you know?’

Picked up driving faster than the others

Feels the need to make any serious situation/predicament into a joke, otherwise getting severe panic attacks

Bought a silly pajamas for 3999.99$ (aka got scammed), and isn’t allowed to shop at all (offline/online)

Has a collection of shiny stuff that Maya threw out, mistaking it for trash

Mild anger issues

Used to brush his teeth 5 times a day or -9 times

Bawled when watching Lion King. *After finishing the movie, Kai compared Jay to that crazy monkey

Star is his favorite shape

Shiny colors? Shiny colors!

And now for my opinion….. if you have a different opinion of mine (like something I don’t/vise versa) and want to comment, but feel like you shouldn’t, you’re totally welcomed! Don’t listen to me, speak your mind!

Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. He doesn’t need to ‘manipulate’ Zane, and Zane is smart enough to pick up on it. And if not, Cole and Kai will pick up after maximum two days (if you have siblings you know that you always search where your sibling is, to see if they’re also doing a chore to make sure they’re (God forbid) resting while you’re working) and tell Zane and get revenge on Jay. That scheme will not last for more than three days. Bonus: Jay confesses he just doesn’t know how to do it and Zane warmly offers to teach him

Somehow even more stupid? What led me to think about this? I would’ve agreed if only we would’ve known Nya was the water ninja before Possession. I can totally see Rise of the Snakes through Legacy of the Green Ninja Jay doing this, but it makes no sense if nobody knows about Nya’s powers. So, just no. (*because it’s out of character for Possession Jay to pretend, and I really want to believe Skybound Jay isn’t this pathetic)

Gyatt dammit. Funny how I wrote that then yet today I headcanon that he ‘never fully sleeps’ and even if he does hit the deep state, it’s never for long (I won’t elaborate about why, I think I reblogged some smart post talking about this and have been obsessed since)

Love the reminder I’ve always been a Skybound fan. You know what, Sure. I’ll humor you, younger, silly me. Sons of Garmadon with that crab? Yeah. Jay had a panic attack behind a giant rock. Adam from Master of the Mountain? Jay couldn’t sleep for two days.

Makes no sense, not sure what I meant by that. I probably meant that he either brushes his teeth 48 times a week (double than the required/normal/advised amount), or he brushes his teeth nine times a whole month. Uh…. No….? The ninja probably have a routine of doing things like that together (probably as a competition to start the day with a punch), and as a kid I believe his ma always reminded him of self-care (based on her screaming for water in Hands of Time)

I never watched the Lion King. Idk why I felt the need to headcanon this, but now I headcanon the whole team secretly hate that movie and agreed to never see it. something about it being ‘overrated’ (Kai secretly watched it) (he was ignored for a day) (Zane and Pixal secretly watched it together) (their crime is still unfound)

tim is a big reader, he doesn't hate tv but there's never really anything that interests him so he doesn't bother watching it.

he smells like sandalwood, leather, and cigarettes (obvi). he might use a single spray of cologne but i feel like it's more of a naturaal kind of smell.

he LOVES cats !! he leaves bowls of food and water out for them wherever he's at!

he'd be very into friends with benefits. he doesn't seem like he'd be ready to settle down any time soon so that would probably be the only option you get.

he's the more responsible one of the three. mostly like a father figure.

his room is mostly neat but it will be cluttered with some papers and pens or stacks of books.

he doesn't like new technology so he sticks to his portable cd player and wired earbuds.

i think his favorite food would be sloppy joes or meatloaf. don't ask why i just feel like it's right.

he likes teaching toby how to do different things, like fighting moves, how to be a quiet so you won''t get caught, and especially how to use different weapons.

lighter hoarder over here ! he'll grab lighters whether they're stuck deep in the mud at a camp site, busted up, or even if they have images on them that aren't his style. (like rainbow cats)

he's chubbier than brian but only by a little. he eats more than brian and is a tiny bit less active than him so he's got a dad bod. but he's still extremely strong and fast !

I'd like to think that the Mark in this universe is more of a loner but he still cares for his human friends, especially his mom. But after Debbie found out about who killed the original Guardians, Nolan killed her. Mark tried to fight his father and reject Viltrum, but after he lost, he realized that humanity was doomed so he gave in.

He didn't want to kill his friend, he had tried to reason with them and his dad so they stayed alive. At first there was a truce between the Earth's governor and the Viltrumite, humanity obey Viltrum and their civilization will be rebuilt by Viltrumite's standards, but all hell broke loose after Nolan found out Cecil was plotting a way to fight Viltrum. He ordered Mark to kill the Guardians, because he knew it could teach him to kill his humanity and empathy (it has the opposite effect).

The Viltrumite ended up captured and imprisoned unkillable heroes such as The Immortal and Atom Eve. While Rex, who were still alive, slowly made a small gatherings of people who wanted to survive. He made a makeshift shelter among the underground ruins, where people would stay and celebrate life with what they had left.

After realizing there were some surviving rebels, Nolan ordered Mark to hunt and eradicate those survivors. Mark did as he was told, only to find Rex as their leader. They fought for a while, Rex was clearly on the losing side but he still cursed and barked like he'd won. Mark could've easily grab him by the neck and snap it like a twig, yet he didn't have the heart to do so. Looking at Rex's eyes made him feel emotions that he didn't recognize (it's guilt but he didn't want to admit it), and it stopped him from completing his duty.

So they kept this routine of they meet -> they fight (more like Rex got his ass beat) -> and Mark would leave. Around this time Mark had grown a feeling for Rex, but he didn't know what it was (it's love duh).

This is some of my headcanons that I've discussed with my friend ^_^ Rex was confused by Mark's behavior at first, but he played along after realizing that Mark had no interest in killing the other survivors.

Imagine Kuboyasu coming over to Saiki’s house while he’s babysitting Yuuta and they talk for a bit. Yuuta doesn’t like that Kuboyasu is dragging Saiki away from watching Cyborg Ciderman with him and doesn’t really like him all that much until Yuuta watches a character that looks like Kuboyasu come in and save Cyborg Ciderman from almost dying and Yuuta starts begging Kuboyasu to stay so that he can protect Saiki and keep them both safe. Kuboyasu, being surprisingly good with kids, tells Yuuta that he’ll only stay if Cyborg Ciderman (Saiki) needs protecting and that Saiki is perfectly capable of keeping himself safe (this strikes a major chord with Saiki and he stays quiet the whole time this is going on).

After Kuboyasu leaves, Yuuta draws Saiki and Kuboyasu as Cyborg Ciderman and that other character and he tells Saiki that he’s glad that the character that looks like Kuboyasu was there to protect and save Cyborg Ciderman and it doesn’t make him weak that he was saved and Saiki begins having a crises about it because on one hand, Yuuta is right, and on the other he has to face the issue of realizing his silly feelings for Kuboyasu and his protectiveness.

the reason for sawashiros as yabusames is bc… i'm biased but ALSO sawashiro miyuki is known for voicing strong/tomboyish women (she's also franziska von karma btw) or younger boy charas !! and i think that fits reko's vibes a lot… and sawashiro chiharu voiced a bunch of delinquent-kind of charas afaik so i can kinda see him do a good alice (he's also in a band!!)

uchida siblings as greenblings would be really cute too i think.. even tho uchida maaya mostly voice chuuni charas, i feel like her higher tone of voice fits kanna a lot :)) uchida yuuma wasn't my first thought when thinking of a sou voice but i feel like i can see him nail it too tbh.. he's voiced a bunch of calm-collected kind of charas that i think could fit sou
