"You never washed out did you?" Eddie asked it had been on his mind since he got to know Buck. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He was a golden retriever in human form. His smile was so warm and his blue eyes were as bright as the clearest blue sky or the crystal blue waters. He made Eddie feel safe it wasn't something he had felt in a long time. But there was a sadness about him and the way he carried himself reminded Eddie about himself.

Licking his lips Buck looked at his best friend. "I didn't. I was assigned to a team and we were together for years. I was captured and tortured for almost a month before I was rescued. My commander helped me to leave the service after that. I needed time to heal. After some time I ended up in Peru before I found my calling here in LA as a firefighter."

Eddie knew the weight of active duty could have on something. The others had seen things on this job but it wasn't anything like being the Army or the SEALs. They had blood on their hands, blood of those that they had to kill to protect themselves or their teammates. They had to fight to come back alive when some of those they might have known didn't. It was horrifying how often one their teammates or someone they risked their life to rescue took their last breath in their arms.

Resting his hand on Buck's shoulder Eddie met Buck's gaze, "I know the nightmares you might have to deal with. So anytime you need to talk I am here for you."

Biting his lower lip Buck could feel his eyes welling up, "You have no idea what that means to me Eds. It is hard to open up to others. Not even Maddie knows I served. I can't go into much because of confidentiality but I was held prisoner for a few weeks."

Eddie could only suck in a deep breath, to know that sweet, loving, and caring Buck had been held prisoner made him want to wrap the other man up in a blanket burrito and curl around him even stronger. "Buck, I can't even begin to imagine what that was like." He had treated people who had been rescued and some came back so broken that they never recovered from their experience. "You are so strong. Every day you amaze me Evan."

A shy smile, so much like the one when they made their promise to have each other's back appeared on Buck's face. "You amaze me as well Eds. You have overcome so much and have shown the world what it is like to be an amazing father."

another little tracklist hc for you because i’m exceptionally ill today. for “bring your father to school” day, tommy decides to bring phil. he had thought about bringing wilbur and announcing to everyone “this is my big bro, wil! we don’t have a dad, but he’s just as cool!” but wilbur had talked him out of it, both because he was probably going to burst into introverted flames if he went, and because he, unfortunately, had a big meeting he had to attend that day, anyways. so tommy drags phil along without really telling him anything about it, and phil shows up to his school carrying a plastic box of cookies that kristin made (again: still blissfully unaware of what’s going on, and thinking that maybe it’s just a simple school event that wil couldn’t make), when tommy’s teacher comes up to him and goes, “oh my goodness, you must be thomas’s father! it’s so wonderful to meet you, i hadn’t been aware that he’d been living with anyone but his older brother!” and phil FREEZES. he pauses, then, purely because he can’t stop seeing tommy’s puppy dog eyes behind the teacher practically saying *just go with it,* he slowly begins to nod and sticks his hand out to shake her hand. “yep! i’m phil, tommy’s father. definitely. here’s some cookies my wife made!” LMAAAOOO

Honestly, I have personal beef with The Hero's Journey method, and more specifically the way it's taught.

From what I've gathered over the years, the vast majority of us who got The Hero's Journey in English Lit class got told - either implicitly or explicitly - that it was the be-all-end-all of plot structures. That most (if not every) story could and should fit that structure. Hell, my syllabus went to far as to use Star Wars as an example of it, which was definitely intended to drive it home as the epitome of plot structures.

But if you ACTUALLY look at books, both historically and current, a lot of them don't even look at THJ structure. Not every character has or needs a mentor. Not every character even leaves their neighborhood. Not every character returns home.

The only guaranteed structure of a story is a beginning, a middle, and an end. Within that, you get to decide what happens. Who are we following? Where are they going? What kind of person are they at various points in your story? All of that and everything else is 100% your call.

There is no one plot structure that's the best or that encompasses every story. Fuck it all. Make your own. Fiction writing is creative for a reason.

Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!

LIGHTS UP on an empty stage. We see the Impala, still standing strong after all this time. DEAN WINCHESTER strides on from stage left. He looks at the audience.

From behind DEAN, we see every person the Winchester siblings ever encountered. Every member of their extended family.

CHUCK walks on stage right, stands on a platform above everyone else.

“I’ll give him this: his legacy is unbreakable

I couldn’t erase it if I tried

CASTIEL enters center stage, comes to stand by the Impala. DEAN cannot yet see him.

ARICKA WINCHESTER, the youngest member of the Winchester legacy, walks onstage from the center. She looks haunted. Outraged.

ARICKA:

“Every other hunting legend’s story gets told…” SAM WINCHESTER enters stage right, joins his sister, just as upset as she is.

SAM WINCHESTER:

“Every other hunting legend got to grow old…” ADAM joins the two from stage right.

ADAM:

“And when you're gone, who remembers your name?”

ARICKA:

They are buried in Stull cemetery near you…” ADAM and SAM exit stage right for a while. “When I needed them most, they were right on time

And I'm still not through

I ask myself, what would you do if you had more time

Jack, in his kindness

He gives me what you always wanted

He gives me more time…” ARICKA begins a slow circle, and as she passes a new cast member SPOTLIGHT shines on them.

ARICKA:

I raise funds in Lebanon for a new network

The BMoL characters MINUS MICK and KETCH:

ARICKA:

“I speak out against hatred…” the last word is said with a bite, and the BMoL minus Mick Davies and Arthur Ketch slink offstage ashamed.

“You could have done so much more if you only had time

And when my time is up, have I done enough?

Will they tell your story?” She is suddenly excited, and she waves her hands.

ARICKA:

Oh, can I show you what I'm proudest of?

THE HUNTER CHORUS:

The orphanage..

ARICKA: (softly, tenderly)

“I established the first hunter orphanage in Lebanon Kansas…”

THE HUNTER CHORUS:

The orphanage…

ARICKA:

“I help to raise hundreds of children

I get to see them growing up…” a little boy runs onstage right to ARICKA, and she picks him up. ADAM and SAM also re-enter, each holding a child.

THE HUNTER CHORUS:

The orphanage…

ARICKA: (she’s still holding the little boy, who is wearing a flannel shirt over a band tee-shirt, jeans; and boots. He looks like a miniature Dean.)

“In their eyes I see you, big brother

I see you every time…” she sets the little boy down, ADAM and SAM doing the same with the children they were holding. She hugs them both- not wanting to let go. SAM let’s go first, symbolic of him being the second one to die of the Winchester Four. Adam and Aricka embrace as long as they can, but eventually, ADAM also lets go. Both brothers exit stage left.

“And when my time is up

Have I done enough?

Will they tell your story?” As she finishes the song, she sends each member of the HUNTER CHORUS offstage. She hugs them, squeezes their hand, pats their back, until she is the only one remaining onstage.

“Oh, I can't wait to see you again

It's only a matter of time…” The HUNTER CHORUS echos her offstage, we can hear ADAM and SAM over the voices, singing directly with ARICKA, present even though they’re gone:

“Will they tell your story?”

THE HUNTER CHORUS: (offstage)

Time…

ARICKA:

“Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?”

THE HUNTER CHORUS:

Time…

ARICKA: (softer)

NOOOO I STARTED WRITING AN ANDWRR TO THJS AND MU FUCJING TUMBKR CRASGEDDDD now I have to start over. ok.

1) his stupid fucking pants. he wears these high waisted pants with absolutely no shape to them and it just looks goofy. like. if high waisted, why no waist? the fit of them is not flattering at all which is ridiculous especially considering he has a team of fancy stylists working for him. which leads me to my second point, everything he wears looks like it was put together pristinely by designers and has zero personality behind it. this can also be said about most celebrities, but if you’re wearing more extravagant pieces that you have no connection to and cannot pull off, let’s be real, it’s gonna look like a costume rather than a piece of art that you put your soul into. and I realllllly hate seeing someone make a costume out of an art form i’m passionate about. not only that, but all the fancy stylists still make him look like shit. maybe they’re just trying to modernize it, but part of what made glam so great was the extravagance and over-the-top too-much-ness of it all, and i think trying to fit that into a modern minimalist fashion (which i hateeee but whatever) approach isn’t paying it a fair tribute. they literally took away her sparkle. on a more personal petty note, I hate that whenever I wear things that are glam-inspired people think i’m referencing harry styles. it makes me want to kill. i definitely have more thoughts about this but this is all i can think of right now. lol.

Hello! I’ll try my best with this one! I decided to go with Kalim for this one. The reader’s going to be in high school in their world too, just a regular one unlike UA :)

Kalim x Quirkless!reader

You were always upset that you couldn’t join the revered UA because you were simply born different. You were told from a young age that this difference was a hindrance to people, though your parents tried to tell you otherwise. Kids would pick on you for not being able to fly or grow wings, and teachers were always worried about your career path. You grew up jaded, upset at the world for this unfortunate outcome.

That is until you somehow ended up going to a world that was totally different from yours. You woke up and the next thing you knew you were surrounded by “magic” users along with a talking cat that could also breathe fire.

You soon find out you’re in the prestigious Night Raven College, and that you now have to be a prefect for a rundown shed of a building (courtesy of the “kind” headmaster). It wasn’t the best, but in your head you thought maybe it would be better than your high school where people made fun of your quirklessness.

Spoiler alert: no

You ended up still feeling like an outcast because you didn’t have any magic. A dorm leader even sneered at you in the beginning, saying he could smell you weren’t a magician and how you could be torn apart easily by the students. A welcoming message of course.

Not only that, but you had to deal with students “overblotting” and causing all kinds of other trouble. Yes you were worried about missing your high school but thjs was way too much.

But then, when all seemed lost, you met Kalim. He was an energetic boy who was wayy too interested in how your world was like. He would ask you about the quirks and heroes, exclaiming how cool it would be. He eventually asks you about your dreams

You pause. You had come to this world thinking of nothing necessarily hopeful, and most of the time you were plotting a way to get out. But he made you stop, think for a moment what you really wanted to do other than run away.

“Well, I wanted to be a hero for a while, but I can’t do anything because I’m, well, quirkless,” you reply, not looking at him and instead choosing to stare at the ground.

He nods, he looks serious.

“But, you said heroes are people that help others out right? Like stop crime or just be there to comfort someone?” He asks, you look at him from the side and notice how bright his eyes are.

“You came all the way here to a world you’re not familiar with. You didn’t just save two first years from getting expelled, but you also stopped multiple overblots from going worse. You saved people’s lives y/n, I think that’s more than enough to be a hero.”

He pulled your heartstrings, causing some tears to prickle the corners of your eyes. “No, it’s not that easy Kalim, it’s not just make believe-!”

He stopped you by hugging you all of a sudden. It was a soft yet squeezing one, a very loving one at that

“You said magic’s make believe too, but here you are standing in a magic school where we fly on carpets and broomsticks. I think you’re a real hero, and that’s that. You know what?” He suddenly stands up, letting go of you. He looks out at the balcony you guys were at and inhales deeply

“Y/N IS THE BEST HERO!! WOOHOO!!”

You couldn’t help but laugh, a laughter that was filled with happiness and one that you forgot you could muster up after all those years of bullying and neglect. Kalim’s enthusiasm was rubbing off on you.

“Ok ok, you can stop, thanks Kalim,” you pat him on the shoulder. He beams at you with a bright smile in return.

The two of you went carpet riding later, and you couldn’t help but remember when you were little and you admired how heroes like Hawks could fly. You thought you would never do it, but here you were, with someone that made you feel like a hero you dreamed of becoming. Maybe magical moments could exist in your life too.

ah well chapter 112 was ema’s whole dynamic change considering the fact that eren had decided to cut ends there. but i think it was the start of the change where they all have a different point of view on the concept of freedom and what it is.

in chapter 131 eren reverts back to his child state as he views what he’s currently doing as freedom, the whole posing like a bird flying over an endless sky of clouds because that’s freedom to him. but really it’s not, the way he got to that freedom is killing the lives of many innocent people. also in order to get there he cut his ties with people closest to him because knowing them if eren has told them his plan they wouldn’t let him go through with it, so pushing away is the only option.

armin however views and still sees the world is beautiful despite absolute hell they’ve been put through; armin also pulls people closer to him. contrasting with eren where he hurts and pushes while armin confronts but contains.

in 131 when we’re faced with a child eren and an adult armin

it’s almost as if isayama is portraying their mindsets in a way— eren being child acting as if there is no wrong in the world with what he’s doing. while adult armin sees exactly what’s going on, how bad it is but despite it he knows that beyond their world there is a world that’s within his books, a place where their dreams stay safe.

even symbolism such as the raven and the seagull show the contrast in eren and armins perspective. flying against one another almost as if they’re going against one another

after their last confrontation, it was the biggest change in their bond. it was the beginning of something new. they care about one another obviously but they don’t agree with what eren’s doing— it’s that cruel but beautiful world concept and i think by the end of it armin and mikasa will be able to show that to eren.

Bad samaritan -a review

Before I watched the movie, I only knew that Crowley (Good Omens) and Klaus (The Umbrella Academy) would be the main characters. I loved both series very much and I wanted to watch something else with these actors in it.

The summary was "A pair of burglars stumble upon a woman being held captive in a home they intended to rob."

This sounded like some sort of comedy to me. So I gave it a try.

Kinda expected Crowley and Klaus to be boyfriends who walk around being cute and burgling here and there until they find someone and save them. With a few jumpscares here and there.

Because I seen somewhere here this Gif:

But damn, I was wrong.

So Robert Sheehan plays a photographer and burglar who has a best friend who helps him with the second thing and seems way more professional at it, and also he has a girlfriend who is pretty.

David Tennant plays a dangerous Sociopath with a long history of violence, who probably doesn't like horses.

I didn't expect DT to be thjs scary.

He is an amazing actor. Robert Sheehan too. All of them are.

The beginning was a bit weird but as soon as a rich asshole with his Maserati appeared, I was on the edge of my seat.

But on the other hand it was a great contrast. And we learn a lot about the characters.

If you like the series Hannibal, or CBS Stalker you'll probably also like this movie.

I usually don't watch movies. But this one was great. Had me on the edge of my seat until the end.

There are far less jumpscares than I would expect from a horror movie.

It was more some kind of psychological horror. The music also made it scary. Also Mr Tennants face.

So this is a 2018 movie. Right? This leads to another thing I found great about Bad Samaritan: the use of electronical devices.

Like using the navigation system of someone elses car. Or using someones phone to turn videocameras, lights, and other things on and off from far away. And then the horrors of facebook.

PS: I would recommend to watch this after you watched Good Omens, and/or The Umbrella Academy if you have all three on your Watchlist anyway. It takes a bit of the horror away. For me personally it made it funnier.

I feel like I am suffocating and that there is no way out. I am so fucked in the head. I just want to be able to enjoy life for a change. Ultimate fear to me.

Say ive smoked some marijuana and im those thinker type when i smoke the chiba. Well suddenly im surrounded by only those bearing tone of demons prophane barbaroc behaviors. I dobt want to go to hell, and this fleshed out before my eyes is the nature of my worst fear. I am not only God Fearing, but damn nervous because Ive nearly awakened what I call the real me, an innervoice guiding. And i have begun eliminating distraction. I have cleared my thoughts and sight of many distractions. And have started to have a certain space for any almost all items under my use amd home. One thing that adds to another frustratoon os not remembering drawers or table or nooks random/common items did put that buisness card? Or it could just be a real pressue on moment and those 3 like mechanical reaches with your hands and ready to go in 5 seconds. I am comparing this new day 1 moment for me to Change from within. In order to make positive impact on future sitiations and various choices given, I have to jump way out of familiarity. I dont know how to make a friend where drugs and alcohol arent at least in the introductio. Its been over 20 years outside of my sponsor in an AA run since I have made any friends outaide of Getwasted Land.
