he couldn't believe that he allowed the other to talk him into something like this. even so, he liked to think that this kind of proved to the other that he could have some fun. "alright, you convinced me. i jumped in with my clothes on," he paused, looking around before glancing back at henry, "what now? or did you just want to see if i'd do it in the first place?"

eddie shook his head, "seriously, don't spoil it!" he practically whined. regardless of their friendship, he took comics pretty seriously and so, he would genuinely be upset if it was ruined for him, which seemed ridiculous. "i'll be finished before the weekend is over." he added in a reassuring tone. at the mention of food, he nodded in response, "i'm up to eat. what are you thinking?"

Ducky giggled as soon as Eddie's mouth flew up to cover his mouth, a mischievous wiggle of his brow. "Sorry, I'll just make sure you read it fast because if we don't talk geek soon, I might combust or something much worse my love." He sighed, looking over his friend. "You hungry? Cause I could eat."

eddie had managed to convince caroline to spend christmas with him and he couldn’t be more thankful about that. he normally spent it on his own but this year, he wanted it to be different. he placed her gift in her lap while she was distracted with something else. “it’s, you know, not a lot but it’s something. i wanted to get something for you as a thank you for keeping me company.”

stepping out of his comfort zone wasn't something that he normally did, especially when it came to drawing attention to himself. though, he had convinced himself that if he stood in the back and did his best then maybe no one would pay attention to him. unfortunately, that wasn't the case and the instructor seemed to want to use him as an example. "i-uh, i think maybe you could find a partner that is more suitable. i mean-" his cheeks turned dark red, "i just mean someone who knows what they're doing."

Eddie bumped into a girl, barely noticing her as he mumbled an apology. He probably wouldn’t even have looked up if it weren’t for Venom going on about how she smelled off, not quite human and how he should just eat her, be safe. Hissing at his companion about the chickens that were in his future and ignoring the whining about small brains, he turned back to look at the girl he just bumped into. His interest was peeked, because Venom wouldn’t just claim someone wasn’t 100% human if that wasn’t the case. So what was she?

“I’m sorry. I should really watch where I’m going sometimes,” he said more clearly this time, hoping to strike up a conversation.

eddie didn't know how cute he actually was but it was relieving to know that he could open up to someone about what happened. he trusted zuri and he knew that she wouldn't go around talking about what it was that had happened. "i have no doubt about that. i'll definitely be tipsy after another one of these." he pointed to the glass and took in a deep breath, "i kissed donnie..." he trailed off, peering up from his glass and over at the other woman.

"You're too cute when you worry like that," she said, swirling her wine glass. "My life's already wild enough without any drunk kiss drama, please. Spill ... who's this friend you kissed?" The last thing she needed was more drama in her life - she'd had enough of that to last ten lifetimes. But here she was, being nosy anyway because honestly? The gossip was too juicy to resist, and she lived for these normal, messy friendship moments that made her feel like everyone else. "Real talk though? My wine game is way stronger than yours. So if anyone's gonna be spilling secrets tonight, it's definitely gonna be you."

eddie was beginning to think that jemma forgot about their agreed upon plans to meet at bubble time. he wasn't the type to hold it against her if she did and it's not like it would be a wasted trip since he planned on grabbing himself something either way. though, when he heard the door chime indicating someone had walked in and he smiled softly before standing up from his seat. "there you are. i thought maybe you forgot."

"jazz. sounds like something you'd say when you were trying to impress a girl and not something you would actually enjoy." but he wasn't judging him, that's for sure. after all, he had a bunch of things he liked that would turn most away. the more time that the two of them spent together, the more promising all of this was. he missed his family and while atlas was an unexpected member, he was a welcomed one. "feel free to bring jazz with you when you come over to mine."

Atlas grinned at Eddie’s worry about comic books - it was funny how they both had their secret nerd sides. “Comics are cool. I’ve got this whole wall of old jazz records in my room that probably makes me look like a total dork.” Having Eddie cook for him next week was the missing piece. Their dinners had started out as his project, his way of fixing the past, but now it felt real. Like actual family. “The soup sounds amazing … Jazz turns into a total beggar when there’s cheese involved.” He wanted to tell Eddie how much this meant, how right it felt to trade off hosting duties, but he kept it simple. Better to let things unfold naturally than push too hard. Pizza tonight, soup next week - maybe that was exactly how brothers were supposed to be.

when do you know if you've said too much? i mean, at what point does it mean you've make things weird? i've decided i'm pretty bad with social cues and well, i guess i just need to know for future reference so i can stop making myself look stupid.

you know how most people are stoked for the summer weather? i can't say i'm one of those people, especially since i spend a lot of my time outside checking on the animals. like, you can always put more layers on but taking them off isn't an option unless i want to scare the children and land myself in a jail cell.

if there was one routine that eddie tried to keep up, it was his bi-weekly boys night with his closest friend. donnie was someone he didn't expect to get so close to but it was basically impossible for the two of them not to get along after meeting at a comic convention. he carried the boxes of pizza toward the coffee table with two beers in his other hand. "they had a cool limited edition comic at the shop today. it was entirely too expensive for me and it was practically brand new. i think you would have liked to see it."

eddie couldn't help but to smile at the other's words. despite the two of them being such close friends, he had to admit that the compliment meant a lot to him. in fact, it made him feel some sort of way and he wasn't sure how to deal with those feelings quite yet or at all. he'd never felt this way before, at least not toward someone he was so close to. "that's alright. i think we can manage to make it home from here and if we can't then i guess we'll have to attempt to find an uber. tonight's supposed to be busy though so there's no telling how long waiting for one would take." he shrugged, "either way, first round's on me." he spoke, a smile on his face as he wrapped an arm around his best friend's shoulders and led them toward the drink stand before ordering the two of them the halloween themed drinks.

Donnie grinned back at Eddie, tilting his head to the side as he thought of what he wanted to answer. "Both. A nice picture needs a nice subject, don't you think?" Recently, things had been a little different between the two of them and Donnie wasn't really sure of what to think of it yet. He'd always liked Eddie. A friend like no other, his best friend. But he couldn't lie and say he didn't see him in a different light these days. "People only say that because I have long, luscious hair." He joked lightly, then nodding when the other mentioned cocktails. "Oh yeah, we'll have to walk home though, because we know neither of us can handle drinking those fruity drinks without feeling really drunk."

"-can i ask you for a weird favor?" he finally asked the girl across from him. eddie trusted that feyza wouldn't laugh at him. after all, she was seat and kind of awkward...she would understand, right? "can i like...pretend to ask you out and you tell me whether or not i sound like a loser? i'm...thinking about asking someone out but i don't know how to do it and i don't want them to laugh at me. i really don't even if if i will but if i get the practice then i could use if if it ever comes up."

he was, admittedly, a little zoned out. he had a lot on his mind and well, he was sure armi did too. eddie's problem wasn't nearly as traumatic as hers was and so, he was trying to be there for her as much as he could. in fact, his problem wasn't traumatic at all. it was just that he had a lot to figure out as far as feelings went and it was something that he was unfamiliar with. "how are you holding up? kian's out, right? is everything over or is there still more to come as far as, you know, the trial and all?"

there was a weird feeling that settled in his stomach after the fall festival and while he really care about donnie, he was beginning to wonder if those feelings meant something more than what a friendship would mean. eddie wasn't really good at any of this, dating and flirting and romance. in fact, after what happened in high school he hadn't tried again. "how do you know if you like someone?" he asked his friend, head leaned against the wall behind him. "and if you do, how do you even make a move? should i make a move? you're smoother than i am. i need help, miles."

to say that he was worried about donnie was an understatement. eddie didn't understand how he was feeling, if he were being honest. worried, scared, maybe even a little heart broken to hear that his best friend had gotten hurt. donnie wasn't his first best friend but this was the first time he'd genuinely been this concerned about one person and his well being tugged at his heart strings. what did that mean exactly? that's what he wasn't sure about. the unfamiliar feelings were...unexpected. surely, they didn't mean anything. it would be a ridiculous thought for him to think that he even had a chance with the other when all they'd ever been was friends. walking into the hospital room with a visibly worried expression taking over his face, his eyes met donnie's. "hey," he breathed out, hand landing on his forearm once he approached the bed, "are you okay? what happened?"
