It’s not my best work, but I got a little excited over the concept of your Amber Eyes AU (sorry for yelling at you both on Tumblr and Ao3 lol), and I kinda made fanart for it? It’s just a little doodle. I hope that’s okay 😅

I put in the aspects of the drawing included on your master post (e.g. double stripes), and I made “Leo” have a plastron shape more similar to Donnie’s, because I figured that Kiri may have taken influence off Donnie, or may have slowly forgotten small details like that over time (and started modeling Donnie more?? Idk lol).

Thank you for sharing such a cool AU idea! This is the first fanart I’ve ever shared before, and again, it’s not my best, but I figured I’d at least show you how you inspired me to doodle again, simply because of how incredible your fanfiction was lol :)

Kiri!Leo’s carapace is more based around Mikey’s (since canon!Leo has three oval patterns and Mikey only has the two :D), so having his front match more to Dee is absolutely iconic and I love your brain.

Personality: A taciturn and seemingly distant young man with a permanently annoyed face, but acts more of a tsundere when shown affection by other people, especially from his partners. He doesn't want to admit, but he can be quite the loverboy and would occasionally flirt with either Stacie or Mikey (mostly Stacie, Mic is as oblivious as a rock but that's part of the charm) from time to time. When fighting however, he would become a lot more trigger happy to shoot a bullet through your skull and acts a lot more aggressive and expressive. He takes his role as a bodyguard half seriously at first, but he gets more invested in his job overtime as he fell in love with Stacie and later Mic.

Personality flaw: Whenever something irks him, he becomes more antsy, impulsive and hot headed about it. He has a very hard time trusting others around him, especially strangers and people he doesn't like and would be more protective of his partners. Loud screams and epileptic lights reverts his brain back to the time of the school shooting during middle school, causing himself to hyperventilate and huddle in a dark area or a corner and will instinctively shoot anyone that would suddenly touch him. He's slowly getting better from it, though there are times he would regressed back progress if the trigger was severe.

Likes: Vocaloid, Crunk hip hop, working out at the gym, spending time with his partners, card games, initiating fights, compete in tournament battles with Mic, showing his muscles and physical flexibility, but likes to wear baggy clothing when spending alone time with Mic, hamburgers, Pepsi, gun shooting practice, firearms in general, showing and giving affection his partners (despite how hesitant he may be).

Dislikes: Stacie's parents (doesn't show it), loud screams and flashing lights, green tea, coke (joking), his impulsivity, being vulnerable, waiting.

Backstory (summary): John Dino was definitely a strict father, being a retired military officer and all. Now he works under the Daemon family as a bodyguard and brought him along to get life and work experience at a young age, which was when he met Stacie. At first he didn't really like her, but that soon change down the line as he would spend days together with her, finding her nice to be around now. Since Stacie was still homeschooled he would the mornings and afternoons at his own middle school with his other friends Neena and Darnell who would also visit Stacie from time to time when walking home together. One day without warning, all hell broke loose at the school. Fellow students were screaming and dying as light bulbs would break one by one from the stray bullets, Derrick think of anything else other than to survive (I will not go further than that, I'm not good at writing devastating scenes). Years passed, the memory was still fresh in his mind but kept suppressing it even during college years, and even after meeting Mic. However, he's finally trying to make a change to it as of late, maybe it won't be so bad. So long as he's with his loving partners, he'll definitely be fine.

He's farsighted so he would wear reading glasses when needed, but rarely wear them.

Personality:

She’s quite introverted, keeping to herself around new friends and old acquaintances alike. She can come off as standoffish and cold, but she’s not really like that unless you’ve upset her somehow, which is pretty hard to do. She’s not very expressive, something she (sadly) prides herself on. She thinks (in her case) it’s best to push others away with callousness before they get too close.

Speaking Style: Kaiden is very quiet, to be honest. She doesn’t really enjoy small talk and prefers to go straight to the point. She does enjoy listening to others talk, she believes you can learn a lot from other people’s conversations.

Likes: Reading, her dog, sparring (occasionally), her friends (she’d never say it out loud she’s too embarrassed), food, tea, her name (she thinks it sounds pretty), earrings/jewelry in general, the quiet, a goooooood fight, alcohol.

Backstory (under the cut—it’s quite long):

The first thing Kaiden remembered was loneliness. The ghosts helped keep that at bay for a while. Then, fire and screams. After that, everything was a haze.

On a cold winter day, a young Kaiden was playing on the rocks with other children. She, oblivious to the dangers of doing so, failed to notice the black ice below her. She slipped. And promptly cracked her head wide open. Kaiden's playmates, understandably terrified for their friend, rushed over to her mother. When her mother finally arrived, she was frantic. The curious part is, Kaiden was fine. Winded and scared, sure, but what would have been a large gaping hole in her head was nothing more than a scar after what couldn't have been more than fifteen minutes. She did lose blood, though. Lots of golden, shimmering blood. The ghosts laughed then.

The Emerald Guard needed new soldiers for their lower ranks, as the experienced ones who were already serving went to prepare for war with Hlunlah. All Nialon-born citzens aged 17 to 20 were to join. Kaiden, unfortunately, was born in Nialon and raised in a tiny, sleepy Niali town called Daeryn, and so the letters came to recruit her and several others. The people of Daeryn were naturally terrified for their children, Kaiden's parents included. Her mother and father begged her not to go. Kaiden didn't want her adoptive parents to be fugitives, especially since the letters had warned- not directly, but noticeably- that the recruits and their families would suffer the consequences if they refused. Li Hua, her best friend, didn't want her to go either, and the two spent the last few weeks before Kaiden's departure arguing. It was challenging to try and get used to the new setting, as Kaiden had never left Daeryn. She was a quiet, awkward, lonely kid who sometimes seemed to whisper to the air when alone. She was an outcast, through and through. Then, she met Felix BonaDea, another alienated kid. They were inseperable after that.

Every year the Guard held a small challenge to kill a magical beast to try and find the best recruits, and as someone with little fighting skills or training, Kaiden learned quickly that she had to depend on her wits to shine. Something (not the ghosts, not this time) told her she needed to stand out.  After three years of grueling training, Kaiden had finally become an offical knight of the Emerald Guard, waiting to be informed of where she would be stationed. The Aquamarine Ball was to determine that. Instead of becoming a guard, however, Kaiden (and Felix) were approached by a Lloyd Santhuff, the leader of the Azari, an elite fighting unit. The two accepted the offer.

They were good. The best, even. Every time they were sent on a mission, they came back victorious, which was why on one particular mission, Kaiden was cocky.

“… we’re surrounded.”

They were safe, thank the gods. Badly harmed, barely alive, but safe.

He was gone now. Gone to live with his family. The others didn’t seem to care.

Formerly a member of the Azari, Kaiden Evania left shortly before the murder of Natasha Pierce, a noblewoman. When questioned about her sudden departure, she stated she felt she wasn't good enough to be a knight and realized she was better off leaving. It’s said she made quite the stir when handing in her resignation. Santhuff was particularly angry for a while after. Kaiden didn’t care.

Kaiden now works as a bounty hunter. She knows she's quite good at it.

some design notes, if they'll help:

the way i draw Dee's shirt pattern (specifically the horizontal stripes) is that i use the same thickness as the thicker vertical stripes but just lower the opacity to 50%. the thinner vertical stripes are half the thickness of the thicker lines. there are no thin horizontal stripes.

her scarf has Three hearts, it's just at an angle.

apparently "decorative" (aka more colorful kid) band-aids have existed since the 50s...but i didn't know that while drawing her designs. all that to say, if you wanna draw her with more colorful band-aids, go right ahead! she'd love those. :]

as i've mentioned previously, in my headcanons, Dee doesn't really like wearing her shoes, but you can decide whether you wanna draw her wearing 'em or not.

all of the Kennedy Siblings have the Prominent Canines + Tooth Gap combo (you can't tell with Jack, due to them. y'know. Missing His Front Teeth), and Dee's no exception! she's got sharp lil teefs :D (Henry learned that the hard way. don't ask how)

Ravagers of the Stars

Did you guys know that Ado-ption isn’t the Kirby AU I’ve made that I’m the most proud of or is the most developed? That’s cause it’s this one. RotS has existed in my head since May 2023

Ravagers of the Stars is fairly dark, especially for a Kirby AU. Don’t worry, there’s no art (yet, I have someone who can hopefully do refs for the characters), but there’s quite a bit of dark stuff in the text here. Also heavy injury/gore described in not a lot of detail

After the events of Star Allies, something… happened to Kirby. He turned into some evil force much like 0², and sealed himself in a pocket dimension only accessible by one gate in the fields of Dream Land. His friends rushed to save him from whatever had happened, but it was too late. After Meta Knight and Dedede left and never came back, Bandana Dee went to look for them, and then he never came back. Everyone realized what was happening, but that didn’t stop others from going in. Eventually, Magolor, Taranza, and Susie were the only ones left, after four years of this. The planet was mostly peaceful, aside from lacking those who had vanished.

Until a stranger named Nightmare Knight showed up. They looked nothing like the other knights- they were tall, with long limbs. They had deep blue armor with specks like stars, and a large cape that turned into wings. They had a mask over their presumable dragon-like head based off the shape of it, and sharp clawed hands and feet going off their sharp clawed gloves and boots. They wielded a harpoon with an edge made of a crystal shard- one of the few things able to kill beings of void and dark matter fully. They ordered the three surviving friends of Kirby to join them on their quest of preparing a ship to enter the pocket dimension and rid the world of the only evil left.

They agreed, despite thinking this stranger was just a little bit weird, and travelled around, fixing up the Lor Starcutter into a much, much bigger and grander ship. With Susie’s help and the things they found around that Nightmare Knight was looking for, they created the Lor Haltmann, named by Susie. As they prepared to venture through the portal and confront Kirby, Nightmare Knight changed their armor to be more relaxed. Their chestplate and leggings were gone, replaced with a blue t shirt with a golden four pointed star on it, and blue shorts. They had the same gloves and boots, but the bottom half their helmet was gone. Only the top half of the dragon-like head remained, and the black eyes with piercing red pupils were gone. And visible underneath it, was…

Adeleine. An older, tougher Adeleine. She explained everything to her friends.

When she had gone to try and bring Kirby back, she was severely injured and dying. But it hadn’t been an instant death like everyone else’s. Something about her human spirit kept her alive just long enough. She crawled out of the tunnel to the pocket dimension and was seen by Ribbon, who rushed her to Ripple Star. Apparently the water beneath the Great Crystal had healing properties, and she was able to not die, but her injuries didn’t heal. Her right eye can’t fully open anymore, and has a large scar over it. And she has a massive gash across her stomach. Kept covered by bandages because it’s a miracle she can even walk with how badly it’s damaged. Her innards aren’t exactly… in, anymore. She was sent to Neo Star to hide and recover, and while down in the depths, found a suit of armor and a large harpoon. She took them, and trained for the four years she was gone. She developed a hatred against all spawn of void, and wanted them dead for what they had done to her.

Everyone was shocked, but they understood her. They went in, and Nightmare Knight, as she now hates her name because it’s associated with her former weakness, killed what was formerly Kirby without hesitation. The pocket dimension collapsed as they rode out, and they were heralded as heroes. Magolor made everyone matching clothes based off Nightmare Knight’s armor, and Taranza discovered something the Lor Haltmann could do- travel between timelines.

The Ravagers of the Stars travel from timeline to timeline, helping out the inhabitants of them, and usually avoiding the versions of themselves in them as best as possible. Nightmare Knight takes care of any dark matter creatures, and the other three help out with smaller things. They earned their group name from their ability to go anywhere, and they destruction a certain member often leaves in their wake.

Upon returning home once, N-Mare (which is Nightmare Knight’s nickname because her friends get tired of saying her full name) tried to talk to Ribbon again, who attempted to kill her because she killed Kirby. Ribbon fled after N-Mare was completed unfazed after being stabbed. They were going to chase her down, but N-Mare kept her friends from doing that. After some more inter-timeline traveling, they went back home and ended up in the Forgotten Land.

The Forgotten Land was much different for the Ravagers. N-Mare was wanted dead, because unlike everyone in the other timelines, the beasts could tell she was human under her armor. Elfilin wanted nothing to do with them, and was captured much more easily. Elfilis was defeated by the Ravagers, and they returned home.

They now mostly live on the Lor Haltmann, venturing from place to place.

So! That’s Ravagers of the Stars. There’s a lot more I didn’t mention here because then this would’ve been… unbelievably long. This is by far my most developed Kirby AU. Or just… AU in general

I have had the idea for this for an insanely long time as I said, and I’ve posted about it in a different post before but it was alongside other stuff, so here it is by itself

Hopefully I’ll have drawings for all the Ravagers soon, because N-Mare is just as cool looking as she sounds

And yes, different timelines are just AUs! Although they’ve never been to an actual other AU before, mostly just random “different scenarios” I made up as I went when decided stuff they’ve done. But, theoretically, they could go to any AU. Most of them would not end well just because… Nightmare Knight. Like, Ado-ption? MAN that would be absolutely horrible

But that’s all on this… for now. Expect to see more of them, especially when I get the refs of them

Hii! Yes, I do want to join artfight this year and put at least the three fankids on there (there's only Aster rn) but I wanted to give them proper refs and haven't gotten the time to do so. I'm still studying for another exam (regretting my career choice /hj) and have other drawings on my queue BUT I really want to participate so I'll do my best to get them done or at least upload what I already have for them.

Jeez this’ll be a long one

Honestly, what I hope people notice when looking at my art is the small details. But the thing is, unless you’re actively looking for them, you probably won’t notice some of them, which leads to you being like the only person who realises dhjsbfkd- I love your silly little analysises sm though so idm that much‼️‼️‼️💖💖💖🫶🫶🫶

There’s even more small details than these (keeping it to these because of the mobile photo limit) but I don’t do them as often as I’d like to, honestly I might ramp it up a bit at this point because I had a lot of fun with them in one of my latest pieces. Btw there are small details that I like more than these but some of them are reticent spoilers so I’m gonna keep from talking about those for now.

(Putting this all as a read more as this post will be LONG.)

Starting with one of the most obvious small details but one I just like a lot, the staff magical girl Ret!Don holds is shaped as a flower made out of octagons (which is the main shape I try to go for when it comes to Dee’s patterns but sometimes they turn out as hexagons dgehbfjd I mix them up a little bit)

Edit: forgot to mention, I picked a flower specifically cause silly guy loves botany hehe 💖💖💖

This one appears in a LOT of my drawings of tot Ret!Don, this is the way I like to convey a character not having their glasses on. Since he doesn’t get his glasses till he’s 7-8 years old (doing a timeline rn so we’ll see exactly when at some point dhdjhfjf), the majority of drawings of younger Dee will have this feature, especially as I tend to start drawing them with full eyes rather than line eyes at 9 years old (the pupils still look like this but the eyes as a whole are different)

Another silly tot thing (this is just smth I’m working on btw I haven’t posted any of it yet, dw about it tho :)))) ). I gave Leo this silly shirt to convey that this is the year that Splinter appoints him leader after stripping the role from Raph. Guy is already exhausted from his new role but he’s powering through it, look at him go!!! (That’s not gonna last long)

This is one I’ve already pointed out but it was a while back so I figured I’d include it here too. On Donnie and Karai’s refs (from April 13th and April 17th respectively), they both have a pattern of three dots in a sort of arch shape above their right eyes, Donnie’s showing whilst his mask is off and Karai’s showing whilst her mask is on. This particular pattern only shows for each character when they’re involved in a certain clan :) It also illustrates their connection later on in the show, far prior to the arc even occurring (still got a while to go!)

Two out of three of the images on these next two examples are from a piece I’ll prolly be posting later today! Basically in that piece I have included a couple of polaroids in characters decorating the room as I like to do that a lot for characters who I think would have these kinds of photos (Leo doesn’t have as many, only keeping two in his room but Don and Mikey display them on the walls whilst Raph has a small collection hidden away). This first one is in Donnie’s room and depicts the day Donnie got his glasses with April’s help!! The guy was ecstatic fr‼️‼️💪💪💪 April isn’t much of a hugger but she decided it was fine this time.

These next two images are from Leo’s and Donnie’s room respectively. I figured it would be nice to have a picture that all four brothers own, even if it’s bittersweet given later context. This was taken pre-leader Leo, so whilst Raph isn’t having the best time (the poor guy :( ), this was probably the best the other’s lives were for ages.

Okay, now we’re getting into stupidly small details. In the Top Of My School animatic, Mikey is drawing a picture of ice cream kitty during the second lyric “Some people never learnt how to be driven, some people don’t even try”. Other small details in this animatic include Leo’s trophies and blue ribbon which he scavenged from the dump, the Hamato Clan box which was retrieved in episode 1, along with the picture of Leo Mikey drew when he was younger, which (other than the hamato box) all first appeared in a drawing of Ret!Mikey and FA!Mikey spray-painting Ret!Leo’s room and were later mentioned in Chapter 3 of Reticent, “Consequences”. Another small detail is in one of the final scenes of the animatic whilst Leo is staring at himself in a mirror, realising some… not so nice stuff about his self worth, he replicates Splinter’s words and actions from earlier in the animatic.

I think the ice cream kitty detail is smaller but i wanted to keep these last two together (and also I talked about more than one small detail in that section). The first one is Mikey’s little stickers on his nunchucks in Season 2 Part 2!!! Just a little guy :) some are random, some are references to other characters, some are references to other iterations of Mikey (wonder which sticker that one is CHXJHDJF)

Now, this one is STUPID SMALL, to the point I don’t even think you can see it without zooming in on the original via Procreate (might prove myself wrong later though dbsjfbdj idk). During Season 2 Part 1, Casey’s purple detail are him changing his studs to be purple. I later considered changing it to something bigger (although I had NO clue what that would be, his sneakers maybe?) but then I thought about it more and honestly, I think Leo would be kinda peed off with him if he wore anything bigger/more noticeable cause honestly I bet he didn’t even notice the change the entire time Casey had these in-

Basically, the entire point of this post is, I like small details and I might have hints to past or future events in reticent in pieces via those small details, so be on the lookout!!! after a week delay, TWO delightful sets of OCs duke it out to be the ones who get beautiful ref sheets for Art Fight.

In one corner, the defenders of love and happiness, Magical Girl PA•RO•DI! These three girl best friends have been tasked with saving the world from darkness by a funny cat carrying around an all-powerful magic baby. Magical Pansy (pink) is cheerful, supportive, has the power of flowers, and struggles with being emotionally open with herself and others. Magical Rolling (blue) is kind of quiet, but seems to have an answer to everything. She also spends all of her free time fishing, and fittingly possesses the power of water. And, Magical Diamond (yellow) pronounces her name like "dee-amond," has the power of light, and is really into technology. Prefers logic and therefore is usually the one to point out when something is absurd.

In the other corner, a teen detective and an android who could change the world, Project★Athena! Tally is a bright young woman with her whole future in front of her, so long as she keeps her nose to the grindstone and doesn't look up. Unfortunately for society, Tally is incredibly nosy, questions everything, somewhat pedantic, really good at getting in places she shouldn't be, and has been spending increasingly less time at the grindstone and more and more time helping people. Pallas is a mysterious AI with unknown origins downloaded into an off-the-shelf android body. She has no memories and no pre-defined function, but has a kind, friendly and curious personality.

“Ravagers of the Stars”

Brief Description- After Star Allies, Kirby becomes a terrifying monster much like 0² and retreats to a pocket dimension. Many of his friends try to bring him back and fail. The only three left, Magolor, Taranza, and Susie, are approached by a strange person named Nightmare Knight. Joining forces with them, they construct a huge ship to take down Kirby, and Nightmare Knight was Adeleine the whole time. The four now travel from timeline to timeline helping out the citizens of them and Nightmare Knight takes care of any “void spawn” she sees.

“A Forsaken Painting”

Brief Description- Not only were the main four of the Dream Land team taken to the New World- everyone was! Most of them ended up captured by the Beast Pack, except for Adeleine. Dressed more like herself in DL3 and sporting a red bandana instead of a beret and armed with a huge version of the Toy Hammer, she sets out to stop this crazy animals and get her friends back… except, after first arriving, she finds a strange plant she had never seen before, and tried some of it because it didn’t look poisonous. She basically ended up getting high off it.

Brief Description- After returning from Another Dimension, Susie took over as President of HWC. She took way more than just Meta Knight to experiment on though, taking most citizens of Dream Land and turning them into robots to serve various needs. Somehow, Dedede and Bandee ended up being two of the only ones to not get captured, and have to infiltrate the huge company buildings and get their friends deprogrammed.

Brief Description- Dark Matter was scouting the recently made uninhabitable planet of Shiver Star for an invasion, but realized there was nothing left to take over. However, the small scouting group led by the Swordsman himself did find the seemingly last thing on the planet that was alive- a young human girl named Adeleine. They took her back to the Dark Matter lair, and she was raised by them, and lives a very happy life with her Dark Matter family.
