Doll maker yans name is jasper, they tell reader to call them jas though.

“Jas, I really kinda need to talk to you,” reader said into their mic.

“Of course, doll. You know I’m always here to listen,” came the warm voice in their headset. God, if they could hear it every day for the rest of their life, they would be set.

Reader continued after taking a deep breath, “Right now, I think I would rather be one of the dolls on your shelves than do anything else, including work.”

“Well, that’s perfectly fine. We can schedule a time for you to come over,” they could hear the smile in their voice.

“No, I don’t think you understand. When I get over there, I better be drooling, because if I think about anything else today, I’m going to explode.” They sat in their stream room with the lights off, the RGB of their pc and headphones emanating on their face

“Now hold on, doll. I feel like that’s a big step. Have you even considered how long you’d want to be like that? Or what level do you want?” they sounded concerned.

“I don’t know, maybe a year? Two, if I really think about it,”

“Doll, don’t think like that!” They paused, their voice softening. “I’ll give you a month to think about it. If you still feel the same, then I’ll take you up on it. But in the meantime, please, try to take care of yourself.”

Reader chugs the rest of their drink. “Yeah, I don’t think that’s changing anytime soon.”

A week later, reader ends up at the same staircase they always do, they rang the doorbell and waited.

Jasper opened the door and sighed once they saw reader, “I see you’ve made your decision then?” Reader nodded.

“Do you want to change your clothes beforehand so you’re more comfortable?” Jasper asked

“Yes, please,” the reader murmured, not even looking at them.

“Alright, tell me when you're ready, I’ll be waiting.”

They come back from the bathroom fully changed. “Come here, dear. I’ll take care of you now,” Reader is hugged to their chest. “Remember, love, you can change your decision at any point. But for now, just relax and listen to my voice,” Jasper advised.

Reader melted into the arms, sinking deeper until they were fully laying in Jas's chest, their heartbeat a calming rhythm beneath them. “Would you like to stay there doll?”

“Mhmm,” came the muffled reply

“Ok, hun,” they cooed in response.

So soft, they just wanted to slip away more than they already were.

“Is this what you wanted? To be a simple little thing?” Jasper smirked, their voice playful, “Of course, doll, don’t exert yourself with such big words. Are we only mumbling now?”

“Mgh,” the reader managed, a blush creeping across their cheeks.

“Wow, should I praise you for answering? It seems that’s what you want,” Jasper teased.

The reader blushed deeper, the warmth of Jasper’s words.

Jasper chuckles to themself.

Days turn into months that reader enjoys themselves, the constant praise they get for just existing, let alone what would happen if they actually tried to do something.

All they really need to do is sit still and look presentable, and Jasper just takes care of them anyways so honestly they just have to sit.

Sit and listen to their voice, being pet, fed, and...

"What’s my doll of the day? Oh, that’s a very good question! I got them quite a while ago, but I’m just now showing them off."

Jasper holds up a reader who has just been fed. Their eyes are glazed over, wide and bug-like, fixed directly on the camera.

"Why do they look like reader? I think you all are imagining things. And even if they did look like them, it really doesn’t matter, nor is it any of your concern."

Jasper sets them back down softly behind their keyboard with a playful smirk as they mute. "My poor dumb little thing, sorry for picking you up so fast, I just had to show off my adorable little doll" they pet readers head with their finger.

They unmute and go back to chatting.

i know it's probby just how things are when you're living in the formula None bubble™ with a team and staff and protocols but as a non rich person it's both obejctively funny and a little unsettling that someone literally walked into his room, dropped his food off and left and he was too deep in game mode to notice. like babygirl you are a vvvvv famous man, maybe just a quick glance at the door? a tiny peek? an acknowledgment that a whole human crossed your personal space? be slightly more alert?

uhh tbh i cant rlly decide which one im most proud of cuz imma suck my own dick here but i think i nailed em (plus i managed to kick same-face-syndrome’s ass), so im like genuinely pulling a blank on my fav LOL. i guess some of my fav elements(?) i added would be moon’s tooth gap, suns’ hair, sig’s bright green eyes, piper’s glasses w/ the chains on em, and idk i like how sharp i made pebbles’ features. does any of that make sense

also the last couple doodles i’ve posted have made me accidentally make an au-of-an-au where pebbs, sig, and yui are in a shitty gay punk band. partially inspired by @/distant-echos’s band au (go check him out) and the fact that i’ve been listening to nothing but fucking sleeping with sirens for like a week now LOL

yeah, I live in LA and it’s a huge issue here. The governor is trying to pass an extra 10-15% incentive to bring filming back, which should hopefully help quite a bit? It puts LA more in line with other major cities with incentives, I think. The pandemic and the strikes just really accelerated what was already happening because people assumed that filming would always happen in LA even without enough incentives.

I hope this doesn’t affect iwtv. I wouldn’t think they’d delay because all this tariff stuff is so unpredictable and vague, and changing everything to film in the US seems like it would be massively expensive. Plus, all the tariff stuff they’ve put out only mentions tariffs on movies, not tv shows. But yeah it would be nice if the president weren’t an idiot.

I hope it does help, anon, and thank you for your insight! Tax incentives really do seem to be the best way to attract production, and that 10-15% increase I think would bring it up to 30% from what I'm reading? Which is genuinely competitive. Australia's got one of the better global ones for production in that it's roughly 40% for films going to cinema, and 30% for everything else (TV, straight-to-streaming, etc.), although I know they're looking at adjusting some of that.

Co-production treatise are also significant, so I was really interested to read that that was one of the ideas being talked about by the industry (even if it sounds like this administration isn't going to move on it). The US has never really been involved in official co-productions - the whole idea of them was to give the rest of the world a chance to compete internationally, but they're also a form of soft-diplomacy to have countries creating art together. Australia's been doing them for decades, but it actually just signed a big one with India last year, and while a part of that is because Australia wants Bollywood to start shooting here (they actually do already, but this has formalised it), it's also absolutely working in-line with other trade incentives between the countries too to sort of grease the wheels, I guess, of soft diplomacy.

So yeah! I was just really interested to read that there seems to be quite a few LA producers wanting to get co-pro treatise up too, particularly when the tariffs are sort of the antithesis of what a co-production is and does.

But fingers crossed none of the tariff talk affects IWTV. With how quickly the government has already backflipped on some of it, hopefully it's not going to move ahead at all really anyway.
