you know how it’s said multiple times that jean raises his hand to strike someone before remembering himself?

what if i said he’s arguing with jeremy in tsc3 and jeremy moves towards him suddenly. what if i said he doesn’t remember in time to stop himself. what if i said he immediately clasps his hands over his mouth in shock of what he just did, that he backs away as jeremy looks at him in horror.

So… I had an idea for a fic but like I already am working on like 3 so I don’t know if I’ll actually do it but I love this chapter too much to not share (not to mention Old man Rex deserves all the love he can get tbh). For context the reader is replacing an OC I created. It’s not really important for the excerpt but yeah.

TLDR: excerpt from a fic I prolly won’t write.

“You know I had the biggest crush on you when I was a kid,” she laughed. Her face was flushed from the alcohol in her system. 

Rex froze mid sip. He choked on it as it went down the wrong pipe. After composing himself, he laughed rubbing the back of his neck, “No kidding?” He gave her a teasing glance over.

“I’m serious!” She laughed clearly inebriated to the point of no filter, “You were like my first real crush.”

”Like clones? In general?” Rex asked still in disbelief. 

“No. You!” She said taking another pull of her drink, “It was back Naboo. Back during the Clone Wars. You were so cute- your armor was so hot too. My sisters teased me about you for years.”

Rex still didn’t believe her. He shook his head with a deep chuckle, “We never even met. There’s no way.”

”We did- sort of. It was after you stopped that scientist. You know- the one with the Blue Shadow Virus. I saw you in the medical center,” she recalled with a fond but distant look in her eyes, “You were probably out of it. I doubt you’d remember.”

Rex actually paused at that and he looked at her. “…so you did have a crush on me?” He had a stupid and smug grin on his face. 

“You were so hot! Like your armor. And your eyes. And the damn hair,” the girl gushed. 

“Well sorry to disappoint-“ Rex started noting the past tense. 

“Wait- No! You’re still really hot. But like- fuck- I am so hammered,” she tried, “Really. Like the beard- damn.” 

Rex gave an unbelieving look but didn’t argue. 

“Captain Rex- you are and always have been so fucking hot. It’s kinda a problem honestly.”

Rex’s eyes softened as he looked back at her, “…You are so drunk.” It came out as a soft but awkward chuckle. 

“No- I mean… maybe a bit,” she admitted. She hid her fluster behind another pull from her cup.

He speaks like a branding tool, his words instantly sear themselves onto my skin.

"You ever felt that before?"

It replays itself over and over in my head in the moment before I respond. Every interaction that I've had with a person flashes through my mind's eye with a strange, newly noted hollowness. Except for a quick flash of striking blue hidden behind- Goosebumps coat my arms, my gaze falls away from his, I swallow against something, and I finally speak.

"Can't say that I ever have, no."

I started rewatching SWAT (even though I didn’t get past s5 last time) and the episode with the armored car thieves and the FBI task force made me realize that a Criminal Minds/SWAT team up would wrap up cases in like 15 minutes flat. Once they got past the shock of Hondo and Derek looking alike, at least.

ok, so last night i couldn’t sleep (think i was stressed about my assignment I just handed in and then i ended up having sleep paralysis later)

but anyways, i think i’ve got plot points now ?? for this au, like the story was just developing continuously and i’ve literally got 2 sequels for it ??? all with a general plot idea ??? i’d just need to flesh it out and actually write it???

like i could write 3 stories and post them onto ao3, but i suck at writing !!!

so post them i will probably not, maybe i’ll just write it all out and post it here as just a general plot overview and if it gets enough attention maybe i’ll attempt to write it out
